[Q] [Question]the way to increase available memory - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

With the software updating , it takes more and more memory than before. Our phone has 359MB available memory (DZO's kernel update 20) . It seems not so enough now.
As far as i know , GPU(Adreno 205) takes up 128MB as graphical memory. I think it uses too much because i don't play games in my phone. Usually i use SNS applications like QQ and Weibo (Chinese twitter), the background applications usually killed automatically. It is too annoying.
I have seen a mobile phone(Meizu M8) can have different GPU memory by changing its kernel. Here is the method, just edit this line . https://github.com/hzhr/m8_android_kernel/commit/3c87836cb9f2b093ee17cfdd608d8b77a2b18067
So I wanna ask this question , Is it possible to change graphical memory to increase available memory ?
Sorry for my poor English.

{Help} Pinpointing a memory leak

Hi all,
i have read all i can find on the forum on this topic and i wanted to ask is a specific procedure existed for determining a memory leak (if i have one!) i find the gwes.exe file starts at 12mb at boot and generally increases untill a soft reset. it can reach 18mb. whilst i am not sure if this effects performance it causes my memory usage to rise constantly for no reason i can determine!
my setup - rom miri wm6.5 v26.3 - premium WITHOUT manilla
interface - spb mobile shell
dialer - phone ex
not much else
any ideas hints kindly recieved!
regards
Mat

GWES memory consumption growth is as natural as gravity and it happens to improve performance. This happens because it is smart enough to keep resources in fast RAM so that next time they will not be loaded from (comparatively slow) flash memory. Basically this is the point in having RAM and the reason why you paid for it - it has to be loaded with stuff to make things faster. This sport of freeing RAM is just ridiculous in most cases (although not always, of course). You pay for it and then don't use.
Secondly, what you describe is not a memory leak. A memory leak is a situation of uncontrolled memory usage growth (if your GWES gradually ate all available memory to a point where device would crash that would be a memory leak). In general, there's nothing wrong with applications consuming more and more RAM as they work as long as they can free this RAM on demand. See for yourself: on your PC, load a memory-hungry application such as a web browser, note how much RAM it uses initially. Then use it for a while, RAM consumption will grow. Then minimize it and see how RAM usage drops dramatically. Even if an application uses half of all RAM it doesn't mean that this RAM isn't available for other programs when needed. When it's not needed, why not use it?

{App} Awesome life saving app! boost up's the ram to almost twice(Memory booster lite

will try bro! i am from new delhi too
Uh... the HD2 has 576mb (when using Tmob radio) of ram, and assuming the android builds can access it all, that means we *don't* need 3rd party memory managers.
Secondly, Android always tries to use up as much memory as possible for caching for a smoother UI experience, so having as much "free memory" as possible is pointless. In fact, using "memory managers" that go and kill everything might actually make your phone MORE unstable, not less.
Thirdly, the inbuild Android memory manager is already very efficient - it *automatically* kills apps that aren't used in the background. If you want to tweak it to be more aggressive at killing unneeded apps to save battery life, more useful apps would be AutoKiller and Auto Memory Manager.
EDIT: Both of those apps are free also.
OPs app is a BS app like internet boosters. hardware is like it is and you dont "boost" it

[Q] Does A2SD result in more available 'process' memory?

Is the phone's internal memory shared for both app-storage AND running processes? I had assumed they were separate memory pools.
I monitor my Running Services pretty closely and I can see the memory mgmt only trying to maintain about 18 MB free. The phone starts to lag if there's less than that so I would like to see more available, e.g. 30 MB! Would implementing A2SD achieve this? Again, I was under the impression that it would not. Other threads have specifically stated that A2SD has nothing at all to do with performance and instead is intended to make it easier to switch ROMs by maintaining all your installed apps on the SD card (apart from the memory you need to flash when changing ROMs)
Thank you for any clarification!
Internal memory has nothing to do with RAM, which is what running processes use.
You want auto killer. Can set your minimum memory free and forget it, and let android maintain it.

Best ROM for performance/overclocking/gamedev?

Hi all,
I am using a T350 to test some game builds on and I am getting low frame rates because it is a few years old now
Which ROM is the most "stripped/bloatfree" version which I could use to do my tests on, And can you recommend any which have overclocking functions, and if so, what kind of stable settings have been found to work on a T350.
Thanks!
The main problem seems to be the lack of RAM, As it has 1.5GB but using JazzROM, The system uses almost 1gb of memory alone. How can I free up memory space from system processes ?
Honestly there isn't a whole lot you can do, you could maybe free up a few more MB if you go into system processes and kill some random stuff. But you're already on a custom ROM so there won't be much if anything to kill.

JazzROM is stock base ROM, that's why, it is NOT really slimmed down version. What you can do is, you can use root explorer and go to System --> Apps, and delete some apps (make sure these apps can be downloadable from either Galaxy App Store or Google Play Store)
Ok thanks guys. I set "do not run background processes" and deleted some system apps, I can get about 800mb of free memory. One other thing I wanted to ask is that when I press the power button on the device to put it in standby mode, It goes to a lock/clock screen and doesnt turn the display off using JazzROM, Any ideas?
