I don not recommend to get this version if you need to use mobile internet, the settings to add APNs is failing

It's buggy like the versions before ColorROM. It is called "international", but no support for german or french. Hello, Oppo? What are you doing?

My apns are sticking just fine here.

COLOR ROM looks nice and you can see that's made with much love to the details. However, in the most important point is there no progress: The Kernel!
Drainage is still awesome and it gets quickly hot, difference between existing Faux Kernel is big especially at screen on. Think I will accordingly change back to the current Stock BETA and Faux Kernel wich was for me a real good combination for daily use.
Don't think that Oppo will spend much effort in this Kernel improvement due to announcement of a 4.2 release and considering that 4.3 is close. Hope they will do their homework with one of the next releases, a lot of people hope this and I think they will do a big fault wrt. community if the Find 7 comes out and the Find 5 is still not running as it should or better could..
It makes me a little bit worry that for a phone which is since several month's on the market no solution from the manufacturer is in place to improve the battery life which is one of the most important things on a mobile. Hope there will come something with the release of 4.2 in August..
But it's still a good phone and I like it very much, finally I trust Oppo that they doing something...

There's an update for the color.rom about the APN settings! link is in the forum at oppoforums

I had no problems with my apn settings and so far its amazing. Cant comment on battery life yet. I love stock android but this is ridiculously good.
Edit: I did have issues after all. Ripped the apn settings off the stock rom.

No battery drainage while idle.So far seems nice.
Sent from my X909 using xda app-developers app

I set the leaf rain wallpaper and now it's always raining no matter which wallpaper I set. Any ideas?
Edit: fixed by clearing launcher data.
Sent from my X909 using xda app-developers app

Idle is o.k. for me as well... but as soon I do something with the launcher (testing, go into settings as usual when trying a new rom) it's getting to hot for such simple things and battery goes quickly down.

Blandroid on N1

I just noticed, blandroid rom on the rom manager menu, has anyone tried it on N1? I'm using cm7 Rc4 and I know you'll all say stick with it, but I'm still curious.

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago. It says it's a stable 2.3.3 with no bloatware. Sounds very intriguing...in fact so much so that I downloaded it, but have yet to flash it...lol.
Certainly tempting isn't it, is this a case of who goes first lmao, out of interest how big is it? I notice the cm7s are just over 80 mb.

Seems like a plain stock ROM, nice to see to be honest.
Noticed the same thing, but was wondering what all it supports, site doesn't say much. I.E. what kernel it has/supports, TB alert stuff like that.
Hopefully the dev comes and explains what all he's done.
Well, I flashed it, for like an hour then when back to cm7 using the recovery I made.
First thing, market didn't work.
Secondly it didn't have the extra apps cm7 has, which I expected, but I instantly missed theme chooser.
Thirdly it wiped my contacts list.

First. The market issue is probably a wipe issue as I had the same problem with two different MIUI GB ROMs.
Secondly. That would be the lack of bloatware mentioned above. It's like stock android, so not sure why you even flashed it if you wanted bloatware.
Thirdly. It didn't wipe your contact list you didn't sync with google, becaue all of your contacts are backed up there.
You know what, I knew that'd be the replies I got, to be honest I'm curious of any rom that 1might increase battery life, currently using 85% over 10hours!! And of course the dreaded wonk which is seemingly inherent with cm7.
I couldn't force Google to sync with my phone, all my contacts are stored with Google you're right there.
Btw how would I get the market back?

I think it is another keyboard app. When you go to change the keyboard, it lists something in all Asian symbols.
I just deleted it and I have not noticed any difference with how blandroid runs.
The wonk was almost fixed on latest release of cm7. If you don't have the latest version, try it.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Nearly fixed isn't fixed. The problem is really dragging out and these stock ROMs are showing that its fixed with them. Wonking isn't the only issue at the moment either. There is still problems with the sound levels after docking the phone sometimes where its maximum level is halved etc.
CM is an ace project and I truly respect the guys and their efforts behind it, but CM7 is very buggy, and when it starts to affect the ability to take calls its hard to use it.
Oh! Thx for the reply. I got scared and ran back to cm7

What sort of battery life do you get and is there good support from the Dev?
I could go for no wonk
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I like!
Went for this until the CM stable kills the wonk; now I may not go back. I haven't used it for long enough to know about stability. I think of it as pure AOSP, but already rooted (and a just a few essential CM goodies).

So far, I haven't found anything missing I need.
And if you want a bit more eye candy and customization, just install launcher pro or adw.launcher from the market.
I give it thumbs-up!

Help needed: Looking for a rom

Hey All,
I'm looking for a rom and having trouble figuring out which one will best suit my needs. Typically, I would just download a bunch of roms and try them out, but I'm stuck in China with a low data ceiling on a very slow connection for the foreseeable future. I really need to be like 80% sure before I download.
I've been running CleanRom since the summer, and that has been a great experience, but CleanRom is no longer being developed, so I'm no longer up to date.
I want something with integrated tablet mode, and I would like something with a volume slider in the notification tray. Wifi toggle switch would also be ideal (I prefer not to use apps for these features). Aside from those features, I just need the most stable rom possible. Additional customization isn't necessary. In fact, pure stock outside of the features I listed would be great. And I'm obviously not looking for nightly builds. I want something to throw on here and leave on until the next Android update.
Does anyone know a rom that meets this criteria? If you have suggestions, I would love to hear them, and then I'll go read some threads.
I really appreciate the help.

Check Glazed Jellybean here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796668
I've been running this rom since 1.1.2 and have been very pleased with it. My current setup is Glazed JB 2.0 with the included Franco kernel, and Nova Launcher Prime for a launcher. I'm also using Pimp My Rom 2.0 for additional tweaks, but from the sounds of it you may not even want that.
Good luck in your search.

You want a solid rom? Team EOS is going to be your best bet. Very minimal isnt loaded with a bunch of crap you wont use. Has its own toggles however are kind of an eyesore IMO. You could just use an app to do the same thing i recommend "Extended Controls" Its a dollar.. but well worth it. LOL reread your OP oops.. :S
Also if you have the pull down.. and swipe in the middle to either the right or the left.. it will swap the Date and clock to a volume slider on the left and a brightness slider on the right .
The only problem I've had with this rom is the oft mentioned error about invalid glazed 2.0 init.. and it's more of a minor nuisance than anything. Functionality does not seem to have a problem, and I'm sure the message has something to do with Glazed being based on a CM nightly.. a bad integer table entry perhaps. Either way, my overall experience has been great with this setup.. buttery fast, and buttery smooth.

Thanks! One more questions PLEASE! How can I post on "Nexus 4 Original Android Development" page? I am always told I need to have atleast 10 posts but I already have 10 posts and still cannot post there? I really want to be able to post there :/
CM 10.1 gives you more customization options
This is a good question to be honest, I have yet to see a post that explains in detail what is to gain by using CM as opposed to stock on a Nexus 4. Personally I don't see the need to flash a rom, but then again I don't know exactly what does CM bring. It would be nice if someone compiled the definitive list of features CM has that jelly bean 4.2.1 stock lacks.
I have same question. Any good summary?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
It's basically stock ROM, but with add-ons and tweaks, little things that Google has to fix yet.
I find two tweaks really useful, the first one, the quick settings panel, in CM the buttons are toggles, and not just shortcuts. Also, quiet hours is pretty useful IMO. Battery life is much better than stock ROM, and even that right now there are only nightlies, CM is quite stable because we have nexus
You should try it, if you don't like CM, there are a lot of ROMs that you can try.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
Another thing to mention is that you receive security updates more often (when received from a trusted source) und most important IMO you can get rid of that bloatware delivered with most phones. This is especially important with "Non Nexus phones". Also many extra features, as shown above, are included and you donĀ“t need a special app.
Yup CM10.1 is the only custom ROM i'd use on the N4.. all others just seem to play catchup.

please don't report any CM 10.2 bugs

so this is mostly to find device specific issues cause those will happen on all custom roms

First of all, congrats on the build. It's running much better than I could have hoped for, and I haven't seen a bug so far.
I'd like to let you know that the application I mentioned in the official CM thread a couple of days back runs properly on this build. I haven't had time to compile a proper test app for you, so I'll just throw the APK in here if you'd still like to test it. I'm suspecting it's an issue on 4.2, but I haven't had access to another 4.2 device so far. If you'd prefer I post this in the official thread instead, just let me know.
Anyway, the APK can be found here. The included fade animations turned out to have no effect on performance, so don't worry about that. The mere presence of the two backgrounds causes the application to grind to a halt, I noticed it in another app as well.

Thanks man, I really appreciate your early work on this device, which was a major factor in my purchasing it! Before I buy, I always check to see what work has been done, what brick recovery methods there are, is there a root method; that sort of thing. Knowing that all those development safeguards is really nice. :good:
Decided it was time to see if there was any new roms for my tablet and .. there's yours! Installing it now, I'll post any issues if i see them

Tried this ROM and it has a lot of promise. I found it to be a little sluggish and other minor problems that were probably most my fault. Lock screen, I couldn't get to rotate and such. Went back to dopa v1.1 as it was smoother to me. Will try this ROM again and thanks for your time and hard work. When opening an app, it would sometimes take a couple of seconds to open. It was almost like locked up and a couple times I thought it was. Went back and wiped everything again in recovery and reinstalled but with the same results. Dopa v1.1 and Dopa v2.0 has worked best for me.

Text input & copy & paste is tolerable now where as with the other Rom build I was using v4.3.1, had had me to my limit when typing. Thanks very much for this build.
