ADB Problem with HTC Magic Vodafone

Hello, I install the android SDK correctly and install all correct drivers, all correct files from the google repository, and reading on unlockr, you need to type CMD and enter a few commands, the final one being ADB devices, which is meant to bring up your device serial/id but doesnt show nothing for me, i deleted all drivers with a program, and it re-installs them, I put the phone into debug mode too, but whatever i try, i cant root my magic (32B), please help!!!!
i have followed every single guide but cant blooming root my phone!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!
Install the HTC Sync software first. If this connects correctly and recognizes your phone, then the ADB will find it too. I use it as a test, whether the drivers are installed correctly or not.
To start the ADB, you have to navigate to the folder where the SDK was extracted using the CMD Prompt, and then into /tools. There you type ADB and the command you want to execute.
done that mate, going to /tools and then adb devices and its meant to say a device serial, but on mine it shows nothing
As far as I know, you have to have a recovery installed to access adb.
Write "fastboot devices" while in /tools to see if the drivers are OK. When you install a recovery, adb should be accessible.

it wont let me update my USB Driver?

im a noob to this...ive tried to do this many times but it just wont let me update it. i found the usb driver folder it just said that their is no driver in this folder?
please help
thank you
in the driver folder all i have is AMD64 and i386
Download HTC Sync for eris and it should automatically update drivers..
i think you need to point it to the "usb" folder and not one of the sub folders.
in any case, dclay is correct... htc sync will install drivers as well...
http://www.htc.com/us/support/droid-eris-verizon/downloads/
downloaded it now im on to the command prompt....now it keeps saying bad command bla bla
do i have to put the location of my tools folder into the command prompt?
it says...""is ont recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file?
damn my buddy has an droid that does this sooo easily
Open command prompt and type "cd C:\AndroidSDK\tools"
This is assuming you have it saved on your C drive and have it renamed "AndroidSDK"

[Q] Another ADB Poblem

I have read every post I can find pertaining to setting up ADB. On the first try, I was able to get my computer to recognize the device as an Android Phone with Android ADB Interface. However, whenever I try to execute an admin command prompt I get the following error:
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.. I haven't done command prompts in 20 years (back when that was the only way to get the computer to do anything). It is probably a syntax error but I can't figure it out. I know how to change directories. Do I need the Android SDK and the Java JDK installed? I currently have a rooted Nook Tablet and all I want to do is sideload a few apps on this HD+, I'd rather not root until we get all the 'bugs' worked out. Thanks in advance.

Go to my HD+ tips thread linked in my signature. There is a file attached there, adb.rar. Download and extract that. There should be three files there. Put them in the folder on your PC where you want to run adb. That error you discussed is that it could not find those adb files in the folder you were running in.

[Q] Having problems rooting my Nexus 4

Hello
I am trying to follow the advice of the ultimate Nexus Root Guide but I'm not getting far.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34744793&postcount=1&nocache=1&z=7609413011377395
I have a Nexus 4 with Build JWR66Y
My computer is a Windows 7 64bit. I have downloaded a zip file for "adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030" as requested in the tutorial. I have unzipped the contents into their own folder with the exact same name. I then put this folder directly onto the C/ disk. It is not in any other sub folder but directly on the C/ drive.
The contents within this folder are:
eclipse
sdk
SDK Manager.
When I go into the Windows computer Device Manager, my computer confirms that I have the most up-to-date drivers for my Android device.
I have also got the Developer Options in my phone. Within the Developer Options I have ticked USB debugging.
From this point I keep drawing a blank in the tutorial.
I would very much appreciate any help or advice as I have still not got anywhere close to rooting my phone.
Cheers
At this point you would unlock the boot loader.

Actually you only need the platform-tools in the sdk folder to use ADB. It is easier if you just cut that platform-tools and put it in you rC drive. And if you installed the driver right, by typing ''adb devices'' in cmd (shift+right click, select open command window here) in the platform-tools folder, you will get to see your device is listed as device in cmd. Then you can proceed with the other commands, ''adb reboot bootloader'', ''fastboot oem unlock'' to unlock your bootloader and etc from that guide you have there.

hey as you said your phone is formattee and now there is no os/ rom in your internal storage..........so now you have to transfer rom/os zip file to your phone memory........for that
you have to install adb and fastboot to your laptop or pc and when it is done you can send os file from your laptop to phone storage
liks :
adb and fastbbot drivers d-h.st/iqA
usb drivers forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996051
step 1 :-unzip the downloaded adb and fastboot drivers in the c drive of your computer or pc..in a folder name it say "adb"
step 2 :- install the usb drivers for your phone .....this is somewhat complicated.......u can search how to install usb drivers in xda itself..
step 3 :- now copy the zip file(rom) which u want to flash or install in the folder adb which u created in step 1st along with adb and fastboot files.
step 4 :- now u have to open command prompt...for that go to adb folder where rom and adb files are....and there press shift key along with right click of mouse button..i.e shift+right click.......and u have to select "open command window here"..
step 5 :- now u have to type command to transfer that rom zip to phone memory......so the command is
adb push filename.zip /sdcard/0/filename.zip
u have to type the name of rom in place of filename and hit enter.......and then wait and watch on that command prompt....the file will get copied in few.seconds
step 6 :- now move to recovery and u can flash that rom zip and can have your os installed...
This may help to return to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
TWRP has an excellent Sideload feature. If all your drivers are installed, you can easily flash the ROM from the PC using adb with TWRP in sideload mode.
