OK, so when did my phone start beeping when I rotate the screen. Like when it goes from portrait to landscape, it beeps. Never did that before... Ever

Haven't heard that sound but I did notice my phone now makes a sound when I turn off the screen, which I don't mind. It must've come built into the MF9 update, perhaps your new sound did as well.

Strange part is, I've been on mf9 since day one. This all started around 7pm or so today... After changing nothing at all. No settings changes or anything. Just really odd.

So getting rid of touch sounds gets rid of the beep. Anyone experiencing this like me? Makes the same beep as plugging in to usb/charger every time the screen goes from landscape to portrait.

That is probably the Screen lock sound option in the Sound menu.

Never heard of that one. Unless you have the screen touch sounds on and are somehow touching the screen when you are rotating it.

I've tried everything. Still does it while holding the case. If I had another camera other than the one on my phone, I'd make a video of it. Just happened out of nowhere yesterday.

Yeah that one is odd and has me stumped. Do you have usb debugging enabled? If so try turning it off and test real quick.

Is anyone else still having this issue. I'm having it as well. I'm running stock\rooted which i have debloated myself. Is there an app i removed that could cause it or and app I added that's causing the problem..What would cause your notification sound to stop playing in the middle. I wonder if deleting the stock music app would cause the issue...
Mine does this as well sometimes it just started happening randomly. Sometimes it works correctly, sometimes it doesn't.

Mine started doing this last night and has continued most of the time today as well. Haven't done anything yet other than change the tone to a different one and back to the other without any luck.

Random "click" noise

Every now and then, when opening an app or using the system buttons at the bottom, a very short "click" noise comes from the speaker. I have my N4 on silent/vibrate all the time and it is not an operating system noise that's meant to be there because its random. The best way to describe it is that it seems like the phone is "accidentally" starting to play a sound then stopping because its realised its in silent mode.
Anyone else getting this? Views on this problem?
(It happened again as I was typing this, so it happens through the the keyboard key presses as well)

Maybe you have to turn down the media volume.
I don't have a nexus 4, but I do get that random click noise on my incredible s as well, and from many different roms. I am not sure what it is, though.
Key press noise in settings turn it off may stop it the Gnex had this issue and still does

I get that click noise occasionally on my HTC HD2.
Running PACMAN 4.1.2 Jellybean at the moment.
I had this issue as well. I just turned off touch sounds and all is well.
I should note that I have keyboard sounds enabled and I do not experience the random clicking noise.
It seems to be isolated to the enabling of touch sounds, whether on vibrate or any audible volume.

I have the autofocus rattle issue as well. But I rarely if ever would shake my phone like that.
At this point I am just grateful that I got my phone, let alone got my phone earlier than projected. There are a lot of people that would love to hear the rattling of the autofocus on their N4.

Power Management
Ok... I think this is correct,
The audio chip like most other IC's are entering power saving mode milliseconds after you hear any audio so the small click is the powering up and down of the audio hardware... Many phones do this and many people don't notice it.
It's quite normal but if you have very good hearing it might bother some more then others.

Make sure you've got touch sounds turned off by going:

Hard bricked Nexus 7 Screen not working,

Device : Nexus 7
Running : Android 4.1.2 Rooted
Problem : I was trying to unroot it and flash a 4.2.2 ROM to the device and i ended up bricking it somehow. I looked around a lot on here and youtube. I found one solution i had not tried which was to get into recovery mod. But the device was stuck on the boot loaded. So i hard shut it down, and pressed the key combination to load the boot loader. And, the screen wasn't loading. I heard the little chimes my computer makes when ever a USB device is active, so i heard the thing load into the boot loader. But its not showing on the screen!
Please help i really shouldn't have done this. But i am literally about to cry.
I tried using Wugfresh's Nexus toolkit to flash the ROM, and it would stop on sending system.
I dont know if i did something wrong, if the kernel was messed up, if the kit wasnt right, please as the video said there is 4 million members here. someone has to know what to do...
-Sean
That is not the bootloader. You need to have your device disconnected from your pc. Then go to your bootloader.

Nope. Not working. And its not the battery. its plugged into the wall.
Just a noob guess, Is it possible the device isnt even using the display? Like its so messed up that its per say not even realizing it has a screen?
Try volume down and power. It is possible that the screens flex cable came loose. Pop the back off and check. You should be getting some visual queue. If all else fails hold the power button for awhile. Like around 15 to 20 seconds. I have had to do that a few times. That should fix it.

You can use a fingernail really. The best thing is a plastic spuger. A guitar pic works nicely. Just start at the bottom and work your way around.

Have you dropped the device at all or sat on it? If you are getting no visual queues, either you have a loos flex cable, or the lcd is cracked or just non functional all together. The best way to check that is to shine a flashlight at an angle into your screen. Look for any odd lines that have a slight or significant curve to them.

Assuming i found the right cable which was under a copper shielding that was running up from the metal frame under the battery. It was yellow.
It was tucked all the way in.
I didnt see any cracks or lines. I did sit on my pillow was under it.
That could possibly break the device. I just recently broke mine the other day in similar circumstances. The cable is right by the battery on the right. Should be almost centered by the batt.

Oh. But it was working the other day. Does it just do that?
and Yes i got the right cable. So what can i do now? It was rooted so i cant send it back, Is there anything i could do?
You technically could send it back... They can't confirm it is rooted unless you unlock the bootloader and the little lock thing shows up on the splash screen. And since your screen doesn't work, they can't see it unless they test the device after replacing the screen assuming they don't replace the whole unit. But I don't know their procedures. Most companies just replace the whole thing. The screen shouldn't just go out. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it shouldn't.

Well good luck. Never thought one could fully brick a Nexus 7. From my understanding, it is damn near impossible. Tell them that you were updating to 4.2.2 and it won't boot up at all now. That should avoid them replacing the screen and checking everything ultimately getting you a whole new device. I know you said it's not the battery, but try charging it overnight and the try to boot it up. I have seen so many people think they bricked, but discovered later on down the line 'up to 6 months later' that their battery was just dead.

Changing capacitive buttons sound.

OK, maybe someone will answer me here. Lol. OK, so I've changed the annoying stock tw touch sound, but the water drop sound is still there when I touch the capacitive buttons or home button.
So my question is, does anyone know where the sound file is for this? Kinda odd that touching the screen only clicks, and the buttons make the water drop sound.
Thanks!

Well yes, but that's gotta be bad luck or something. Just worried that I will add something from the HTC one to my s4, then all of a sudden, the device build quality will become complete crap, will lose 4g, and will get dirty just looking at it.

Go to the same file system and listen to the ui sounds. Always add .Bak to your own file so if something does happen or you font like it you delete the new one and change the old one back to normal

Add .bak to the original. Choose whatever sound you want (needs to be in .ogg format). Rename it to S_HW_Touch. Profit.

Actually it doesn't need to be an ogg - it can be an mp3. It just needs that exact file name.

[Q] What happened to my power button?

I was using my phone like any other day, and then I locked my phone and later on went to wake the screen and it wouldn't wake up. I did a "battery pull" (power+volume down) and it rebooted fine. When it came back on, I tried to press the button to lock the screen but to no avail. I went on and got smart screen on and it works okay but I'd like to know if any of you know what's wrong with it. It feels fine, clicks like normal. I haven't dropped it recently or anything. But sometimes, when I barely touch the power button, the power menu opens. I don't really understand that but if any of you have any help for me, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
