Not yet and I also think that it won't happen. They haven't even released there first phone or the OS itself. And it is very hard to port it because of drivers and such things.

it won't happen at least for a long time..

Guys, I started the porting work ... It will be finished soon. Please, tell the guys here since I don't have rights to post in that section

anyone here know??
There is no image or source for it yet on the Galaxy Nexus they demoed it on and you want to know about porting it to an obsolete phone with a completely different set of specs? Good luck...
All we know so far (other than the given)

apparently I am not allowed to post links, but google "zdnet ubuntu phone 5 things" will fill you in on what we know so far. Follow the first link.
what I know personally, Ubuntu tries to keep new deployments as quiet as possible but relies on an open source dynamic for development. If you have a high end Android phone, there is a good chance you will be needed (unofficially) for the initial builds. Anyone with a dual core android phone packing 1gb ram will be (unofficially) included in the "beta" testing phase.
Essentially, if you can compile it yourself, you are guaranteed a front row seat. If you cant, but pay attention, you will still be on board.

You think ubuntu cares about if they have a nexus? no. they care about specs alone. Quit thinking your important, do some research. we are all excited about this, get some info or shut up.

Canonical has detailed the system requirements for smartphones running Ubuntu. The “entry level” Ubuntu device is expected to run a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, 512MB – 1GB of RAM, 4-8GB eMMC + SD, and a multi-touch display. The high-end Ubuntu “superphone” calls for a Quad-core A9 or Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM minimum, multitouch, and desktop convergence. The desktop convergence part certainly sounds interesting, as Canonical called it a “a full PC desktop accessible just by docking the device to a monitor and keyboard.”

I've got an n7000, and am keen to work on a port when the source code hits. Never done it before though, and am keen for some advice.
After the source code hits, what's the best place to go to learn about porting the code to our n7000?
I appreciate any advice you have, particularly with any links. I'm familiar with the linux commandline, file system structure, flashing my phone, ubuntu servers and desktop Ubuntu in general. Haven't played around with compiling kernels much before, but happy to start. Am running Ubuntu 12.04 on an XPS 13 ultrabook for my dev machine.
Cheers!

Now people will find out why Samsung is such a ***** to work with. Android was a different ballgame cause there where plenty of devs working on Exynos based SoC devices and things could be patched up relatively quick. No documentation for Exynos is gonna rear it's ugly head this time. TI OMAP was the most dev friendly SoC out there and Qualcomm is workable too. Tegra and Exynos are garbage

Its honest though. To get it working properly may well be impossible. Its part of the reason cyanogen still doesn't support mhl on Samsung's. Also its a little early to ask for advice on porting when no one has experience with this code yet. Sorry to pee on your cornflakes, give it a week and we'll all know more.

I thought just the same and hence asked him so many times
But his sig also says 20 other devices with 4 active so I thought maybe...
Also he mentioned slimbean and all that. ..
ok lets wait till he shares something . beta tsters are all out over this community. just share ur rom in this post so tht testers can test and tasters can taste .
Before doing anything else on this forum please make sure you have the right mobile. A galaxy 3 and not a galaxy s3. The S3 is the new expensive one with the big screen. The galaxy 3 is the small cheap one with the low resolution screen. This is the galaxy 3 forum so make sure you have a galaxy 3

Goodbye fellow users.......

For a long time, I have been a android user, and mostly, a Galaxy S user, but there comes a time when all that comes to a end, I have sold my Galaxy S (with Aways Vanilla rootbox rom installed lol) and got myself a lumia 800 and some cash on top.....
So I would like to thank the users and devs alike who know me.....THANK YOU ALL, big big thank you to a few people.....
AWAYS, FRANZYROY, DARIOLB, MNAZIM, KASPER_H, CYANOGENMOD who have made my i9000 breath, JUST THANK YOU ALL.....!!!! and all the names I have forgotten......
I will still be on XDA, but in the Lumia 800 forum lol

LOL? You are comparing your S2 with S4? S2 is released on 2011, now we are 2013. It is obvious that you have ton of devs for S2.
S4 is barely released and you already want developpers to release app for S4? Do you know how many time do they developpers take to program an app? It is not as easy as talking, you know?
the phone still new dude
after 1 month sure got a lot developer already
yet, s2 is 2 years old ago phone, off course got a lot developer =_=
Yeah to be fair you're right. It has been pretty much a whole week now. They get paid so much for this work anyway that they should be working weekends too.
People have had phone for weeks? I have but I guess was just asking

Light hearted banter mate. Just give it some more time. Not only is it still pretty new but Samsung are also still rolling out updates that change the environment as well (obvious one is the change to rooting for example)

Galaxy S III 4.2.1 Port for our Note II

Hi there Fellow N7100 Note II Users
Since theres no rom this thread will be in general
I'm trying to port the 4.2.1 from SGS III
About the SDS you don't need to worry I'm using a secure kernel
but if your interested in help porting you can PM me!
So whats the progress?
So far it boots to the boot screen and there it stops.
i figured out i've missed some few things so i'll be fixing those later!
Once again if your interested in help porting give your time to reply and tell me what you can do
Best Regards LSD
EDIT: attached SGS III boot.img (http://www.mediafire.com/edit/?1nc7vr5ln6uy2hk)
EDIT: attached SGNII boot.img http://www.mediafire.com/?me2emfnsn0mgqd0
Also heres 3 "unpacked boot images"
Boot_NII is obviously extracted files from our Note II
Boot_SGSIII is obviously from leaked SGS III kernel
BOOT-EXTRACTED is from My Modified NII Kernel
i'm sure i've forgotten something but yet i'm not sure must read logcat more closely !

Great to see that someone is interested int his aswell
heres a logcat when it was booting into boot screen http://www.mediafire.com/edit/?1nc7vr5ln6uy2hk
some changes was made in samsung boot.img
but that didn't seem to make it, maybe i need a kernel which works with JellyBean 4.2?
Hmm seems like i used old kernel instead of using the modified kernel. maybe thats why it didn't boot so far .
Did any of the custom kernels needed to be modified to work under 4.2.1?
It is saying access denied, maybe upload it to pastebin or as a file?
Btw got it working by removing edit from the link

You are actually right. We won't feel much of a difference. It is too big a project. Samsung will release 4.2.2 sooner or later so there is no point. But i am idle due to summer holidays so nothing bad in challenging myself.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah, but it should have at least one or two pros at least to be worthy of such an effort? Because essentially 4.2.1 on N2 is much more feature rich than S3, from what I gather. And you'd miss out on some N2 features as well.
I would like to test the rom if you are after testers when you have something working ^_^

well i modified bootclasspath but it seems to be something else that might be missing, maybe wrong permissions etc, or lack of files. can't really say now i'm trying to make it boot but seems like i've missed something in boot image or i've missed some files sadly when i used some other files it didn't go past the samsung galaxy note II splash screen. but i'll look into it. i think its kernel related, and yet i can't fix that now since i got to restore my phone so i can make my flashable zip tested. or i can but i need to take my time for that.
i neither don't know if anything have changed in 4.1>4.2 if there's something thats need to be added but i think it shouldn't be any big problem
Guys... the developer probably know there is a 4.2.2 coming. With all my respect for you, please do not repeat it again.

bad news guys it seems like i have ***** up my adb (or phone) it doesn't recognize my device don't know the reason neither.
i can't do anything until i fix adb since my phone is only reliable on OS X.
