[Q] Proposition of splitting forums 10.1/10.1v

Would it be better if we had split the forums into 10.1 I/O LE and 10.1v along with the new ones coming out? It seems as though the development for it along with a few features seems to be splitting them in different posts throughout the forum. They are almost similar but at the same time it seems that they aren't. Apparently we have multiple versions of them coming out and this seems to be the line-up after their release.
10.1v (Original/First)
10.1 I/O LE (Given at I/O) 32gb wifi
Coming out:
10.1 Wifi 16gb
10.1 Wifi 32gb
10.1 4G LTE 16gb
10.1 4G LTE 32gb
Is this going to make the forums extremely complicated after all these releases?
Hardly anyone posts about the 10.1v. Apart from 4G and memory all the 10.1s are the same. All share the same software so there is little point in splitting up the forum. Probably best have another look when the 8.9s come along.
10.1v market is so small that i don't think there's need for that. Most of us Europeans are getting 10.1 after all.
When 10.1 hits i don't think people will be even able to spot 10.1v threads.
Though you are right with the different version there will be certainly some confusion, just starting from the wifi version not having microsd from people who have not followed 10.1 so closely, but i don't think there's much we can do or really should do about it.

Yeah this is the difficult part.
Another thing that would be difficult is this. 10.1 LE has 3.0 vanilla honeycomb and soon to be 3.1. The upcoming 10.1 tabs will have 3.1 with touchwiz which will also making things confusing >_<

1st TV ad

saw a commercial for the 10.1 tab tonight. it's not the one that has been going through the web recently where you see people buying the tab one after the other. i haven't seen this one before, and it officially announces the release date for the 17th. i tried to do a search right now, but nothing came up. anyone else seen it or can find the vid?

Note II Already?

Not sure what to make of this, really not enough info but...well read on...
Must - find - out - what's - in - it - !
Maybe we should start writing to Samsung about what we would LIKE to see in it.
Samsung GT-N8010 Emerges, Could Be Galaxy Note 2
- Samsung GT-N8010
South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new flavor of its Galaxy Note device, one that has just been spotted with model number GT-N8010.
The new device was seen over at the WiFi Alliance, where it received the necessary approvals with support for EEE 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity capabilities.
However, beside the fact that it sports a model number pointing in this direction, there is no other proof that this might indeed be the successor of Galaxy Note, which was made official in September this year, during the IFA show in Berlin.
Moreover, there is also the possibility that this would be a different flavor of the already available handset, since Samsung has yet to launch it in some new markets around the world, such as the United States.
One way or the other, next year's CES or MWC shows might shed some light on this.

nah, because then real news would get lost in the noise. perhaps this thread could be for facts about what we know about potential devices that could be the N2, and the other is just people posting their fantasies about the N2

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Phone App

Hi all,
I don't think anyone has mentioned this but when I was at Mobile World Congress a few weeks back I had a look at the new Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and was very underwhelmed by it all......well apart from one thing! The 3G version now has a phone app built in and I asked the sales rep on the day was it hardware based solely or software based? He was unable to confirm which it was but I am wondering if it's software do you think there is a change of it being ported to the original 3G Galaxy Tab 10.1? You can clearly see the shortcut for the app in the attached picture (lower left). Now I know it would not be ideal for having a phone conversation on but it's still interesting all the same!
Cheers,
M
PS: A quick Google on this does not throw up much at all which is strange that none of the tech sites have picked up on it.

That's because it's not a "galaxy tab 2 10.1." It's called the "galaxy note 10.1." You might edit your title so you don't confuse other people who also didn't do the research.
there are 2 new galaxy tab. galaxy note 10.1 and galaxy tab 2 also 10.1. if somebody get tab2 firmware we can try.

Note 4 Bootloader Unlock Now a Very Real Possibility!

I was looking at the Galaxy S5 forums when I came across this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/bootloader-unlock-coming-soon-t3271883
This is coming from @firewaterdevs on Twitter from which they have provided this document: http://theroot.ninja/disclosures/TRUSTNONE_1.0-11282015.pdf
According to the document, this affects the Note 4. There's even an XDA article on it here: http://www.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5-bootloader-has-been-unlocked/
As well as the video proof of concept that firewaterdevs put on their Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCibUxoagiM
So... should we be hopefully excited?

I don't know about hopefully excited, but possibly cautiously excited with a side of hopeful.:fingers-crossed::silly:
Im scared to view the links. Id hate to get hopeful for nothing. I own a verizon note 4 but Im still paying $100 a month to rent a center for theirs because its a TMO version. God I hope something positive is around the corner
I know, right? We really need some good news with this device, especially since Verizon is holding back updates from us that fix a lot of the issues with the phone. Unlocked bootloader would be the best thing ever. I just hope the guy who found this decides to release it, it seems some users have given him trouble over it. Annoying him won't help.
Please do more research guys. This has been debunked lots of times. The person that found the exploit said it wouldn't work on Verizon note 4.

Would you mind showing me where he has stated this? Because I have a feeling you didn't even look at what I've linked. Would be quite remarkable for this to be "debunked lots of times" in just the 4 or 5 weeks it's been publicly shared. This is a brand new exploit affecting pretty much every device running a Snapdragon 805. He explicitly names the Note 4 as a vulnerable device, and he successfully unlocked the Droid Turbo with the exploit.
What's the point of having a unlock bootloader. I a note 4 DE and there's barley any development. I'm pretty sure a lot of devs had moved on.

I have a feeling you didn't bother to click page 2 of the Verizon note 4 General forum. If you did you would see there has already been 2 threads about this, so why you make another.
The 2 developers have already said twice this won't work. Not sure where it was mentioned but it was thrust me.

Yet I find nothing from the actual developers that found the exploit, which was your claim.
