[Poll] Vote for what ROM you are using (You'll receive Thanks vote for participating) - Galaxy S II General

This is just a poll thread to see the 'marketshare' of S2 ROMs in the community. And maybe tell us the reason why you're using that particular ROM.
Note that this is not a poll asking which one is the best.

I use hassan rom v5.0(cuz i like stock features) and rootbox nightly (cuz i like nexus look) dualbooting with dorimanx 8.35

I use Resurrection Remix 4.0.3 (JellyBean 4.2.2) with KangBang 1.3 kernel and i've just found the perfect combination. I come from a pure CyanogenMod 10.1 with original kernel, it's good but a terrible battery life compared to RR + KB.
RR has tons of features like Halo, per app dpi changer and many other settings useful to customize the phone.

Using SuperNexus: [ROM][AOSP][JB][4.2.2][JDQ39E] SuperNexus 2.0 - I9100 - Milestone 1 [01-06-13]

Maybe list more than just one stock based (NeatROM) rom? Otherwise you're gonna get a lot of "Other" replies.

Yeah. Unfortunately can't edit the poll now. :silly:

I use Neat Rom... Bcuz I like to have a custom Rom which is as close to stock Rom.. And I found neat Rom to be very good with some additional S3 features..

The lastest neatrom and i am very satisfied

Omega
Hello!
I'm using Omega roms for a long time. Reason: You have all features in one rom without additional flashing (ripple, ink, back to kill, call record, scrollable wallpaper etc.), it is stock based rom with lot of customization, latest version has nice memory management (all time about 300 MB of RAM free), with aroma you can choose default apps, and its fast
P.S. I voted for Others, but if possible, add Omega to poll

I am using Omega because it's just cool for users who love stock UI with more features.

This is gonna become a better ROM thread, I guarantee it.
If johnny closed "post the rom you're on and the reason for it" he will close this one as well.
I advice you to replace "marketshare" for "popular" in the OP (we don't market nada here).
And make a list of ROMs and update the scores regularly, that'll get you off the hook.
Sent from...this is not even my S2

I am using the latest version of neatrom, with a few extra mods from Aprilia's site. Smooth, sleek, and fully functional. It looks good and gets great battery life too with the latest dorimanx or apolo kernel.

Thread closed as effectively it is a best ROM thread... ROM with highest votes will be labelled as the best ROM.

Oh, and sending out "Thanks" to everyone participating isn't exactly a good idea.

New to galaxy S

Hey guys, i am new to galaxy S, before i had galaxy ace,
can u suggest me a good ROM
Hey!
I used at last XXJW4 (europe), based on the last official release from samsung. The original was not so bad - the customized version I found here on XDA: really amazing!
So just look for the last official release for your region (e.g. via KIES) and find a optimized version on XDA.
(sorry for my "english" - I hope you will understand and this would help)

You can try ics slim 3.9 or cyanogenmod 9 , the latest nightly. Both are solid and established roms. I prefer slim because of the included tweaks like variable resolution and some system menus.
Tapatalk
but how do i install the cm9...seen i have 3e in my recovery....and how i flash the cm9 kernel...noobie for me in i9000 ..

SlimICS is good, or CM9/AOKP they're pretty popular.

Keep in mind that you'll lose Sammy stuff.
cyanogenmod 9 is the wise choice i guess...!!!
Try slim, you won't regret it!!!!

I think your best choice it's CM9 instaling gapps and samsung apps.. then if u find that smooth & fast.. try TWICS 3.01 or RemICS i haven't find any roms faster than those.. and they look like samsung stock roms.. and battery life it's Amazing (Just try 'till u find one thats fits your needs..)

Samsung galaxy beast part 2
PS I use omegas ROM
Samsung galaxy beast part 2
To be honest the stock Rom works the best for me, I have used omega and wanamlite but eventually went back to stock. Samsung has done a great job. Btw I don't use TW launcher.

I'm on Wanamlite now but wish Criskelo team can bring their amazing rom to Note 2 too
Hi there
Yes, a lot of good ROMs thanks to our chefs and devs.
I used official MIUI leak on N7000 and now yure's MIUI build for N7100 I don't like AOSP default style so MIUI Themes are best for me, and it's stable: No experimental stuff and (official MIUI) is pretty much stock Sammy based with 100% SPen support (for now only on N7000, but soon on N7100).
I use Mike's ARHD - it's close to stock but with improvements.

Choose ROM and Kernel

Hello all, I have a Nexus S device.
Before JB I use to flash CM every day and it works great. Now I have installed official JB and I want to speed-up my little machine.
Which ROM/kernel do you recommend?
I need stability and battery life.
Thanks and best regards.

I have this combo too. Everything is smooth and the battery life is very good.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus S mit Tapatalk 2
There is no "best" combo and often these types of threads are closed. Why? Every phone runs in a different way. I say pick 1 ROM and kernel, give it 2 days and then switch it up. It is easy to clean install with TB. Example: try Cm10 stable version with latest marmite. Then try it with Matr1x kernel, etc. Then try AOKP with marmite, Matr1x, Trinity, etc. then try another ROM with ....
Find what is best for YOU. We all like different things and all our phones perform different on different combos.
Flash and have fun!
Thanks!
I will try CM10 with marmite.
Best regards.
I'd recommend Paranoid Android with matr1x kernel....lightning fast, very stabile, fully-featured, CM-based, and the best battery life of any combo for me
Everyone has their own preferences, so really it comes down to what you are looking for. Personally I'm running Strawberry (Metal Dragon Overlord or whatever) and Marmite 7.1. I'm not quite ready to test the 4.2 ROMs, but I know people who are running them and loving them.
Hell - people like to go back to Gingerbread!

Me too!
I'm on RasbeanJelly + AirKernel, great combo too.
I'm on CM10 but haven't flashed a different kernel..
Really happy of phone's performance so far but perhaps battery life is improvable..
Since so many of you are happy with Marmite I guess I'll give it a shot..
I'm coming from AOKP JB milestone1 which was the best JB ROM i had tried since to days ago.I now have Jellyshot with marmite kernel and everything is smooth and stable. If you want a JB rom try this.
Could somebody port jellyshot to the ns4g?

Ok people,
I have CM10 and followed your advise.. just flashed Marmite 7.1 kernel
I was expecting to see in kernel version (in phone settings) something like Marmite 7.1 blabla.. instead I see an 3.0.52-bedalus_CM-0347--blablabla..
I know mr Bedalus is the developer of Marmite, but anyway I just wanna make sure and make this stupid question..
Do you see the same blabla kernel version as I do or have I somehow not flashed the kernel right
forgive my noobness

ROM opinion

So I have been rooted on stock for a while now and want to flash a rom. I have a few that I fancy but wanted to know what you guys are using. I really want to map my HTC button as well.

For stock experience you could go for ARHD or Trickdroid mate.
For AOSP you could try rootbox or AOKP.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Tried all available Roms and stuck with ARHD. It's stock experience but a little snappier. The AOSP /AOKP Builds from my opinion do have to much problems still as the battery life is not what I expect from the phone. Also I don't want to miss ZOE
Cheers guys is the tbalden kernel compatible with ARHD? Really want the HTC logo mod
Use Trickdroid is fast, with tweaks and themes.
Using the OrDroid and ElementalX kernel.
Please just try the ROMs for yourself and read the threads.

I'm looking for the fastest kernel + ROM combination

Hello guys, I'm looking for the fastest kernel+ROM combination for this phone (i9000). Would be awesome if it was with android 4.1.2 (at least)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
There is no fastest Rom and kernel. You have to find what suits for you.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Fastest? This is the fastest...
I use gamerzrom and im happy.
Depends on you really what apps are you running.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
What version and with which one of the kernels?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
i do not like cm's overcharging that made my battery swell
also i find it not reliable as often i had missed calls (phone restarted or lost signal) while it waas untoched on the desk
Best rom+kernel is GamerzROM Legend Edition v3.0 (Android 4.2.2) with Semaphore Kernel 2.9.25s . PM me if you need a download link for the ROM.

AOSP Super Nexus ROM 2.0 BIULD 4 + Mackay Kernel 0.318 is the best and fastest combination for your I9000...I am using it right now and no problems so far with this kernel you get 396MB of RAM and purest and closest to stock Android ROM...That's all from me the choice is yours now...
Could you link it?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219235 - for the BEST ROM Super Nexus 2.0 BUILD 4
go to http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd and pick RC4 build or later. It'll probably not dissapoint. There's helly bean which I've been using before, but it hasn't been updated since 130426 I think, and it's really disappointing compared to cm 10.1 RC4.
Other than that, I guess the last cm9 is pretty good and cm7 but it's old now. If you decide to go with some kind of stock rom, particularily value pack. Try hardcore's last speedmod kernel for sgs. It's THE best kernel I've used with the phone regarding speed/stability.
It's a pity hardcore doesn't make cm kernels.
Personally
My selection: Fastest, stable, .... ¿but? battery eater: GamerzROM Legend Edition v3.0 (semaphore Updated). Promising one, with good battery live SuperNexus 2.0 - I9000 - Milestone 1. Battery live and goof performance: SAURON (GB). C-RoM Mix good other to try. And maybe you like Slim Bean. Test and decide..
For me Infamous AOKP with semaphore has been good
Thanks bro atm i'm trying the gamerzROM. Its quite good but as u said battery eater.. Ill try the rest later( there are still some game to test)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
are you aware that gamerzROM / SuperNexus / AOKP are all the same with few diff PNG's in few system apk's and all are still based on CYANOGEN ?
so best you can do is use CM latest nightlies (from it comes your beta rom versions) in combination with some kernel that You like
so none of those got better battery life or better perrformance - the only diff betwen them is the kernel.
remember CM is the base and then comes someone calling himelf a dev like faryab and copy pastes cm and aokp features,
depending on complication of that he might screw it or leave it ok as it was in CM or AOKP
then adds some kernel stolen from another devs and there you go a ROM
more features it incorporates (kernel) the worse - belive me ...
and stock 2.3.6 is still more stable lacks only jb look but thats i9000 for **** sake ...
i really like semaphore with slimbean
good for you, semaphore is good kernel maker and as for themes i like stock look
What's the difference between nightlies and simple cyanogen? Do you know? And u say then that i should simply take back my cm10.1 with semaphore?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
nightlies introduce new functions, bugfixes first but also might be unstable or even introduce faulty update packages leading to a softbrick (had such situations once)
normal are tested and marked as stable, daily use (bs)
And u sure that cm is compatible with semaphore? Or do u know any faster kernel for i9000?
