I've tried to find updates via KIES and OTA, but it keeps saying that I've got the latest firmware installed (XXUBMEA (DBT)). Why can't KIES and OTA find the new MF8 update?

Is your phone rooted??? If yes, Kies will not let u update....

Hi,
It may also be that the update is not available for your area ,yet.
There have been a lot of delays.

Yes, it's available for my area (DBT version is out), It came out in june.

But then I'll have to re-setup multi window-mod and greenify and stuff. Make system apps user apps. I really don't like the idea of doing that all again haha

when i want to upgrade to new firmware with kies i get the image below but i cannot choose upgrade. does this mean my phone has the latest software???
you can always use Odin to do the upgrade
which version of the firmware do you have in mind?

i checked this site

and saw that i had the latest version:
I9000XWJM2 512.PIT Version 2.1 2010 July

but i allready have this version. i checked it with *#1234" and the other update is froyo but isn't official yet.
so i think problem solved
It might mean you are on the latest fw.. but atleast for me, my phone was still on JF3, the post bellow helped me to get the JM1 fw, while previously i was getting the same message as you.

i cant follow anymore. i have the latest version on my phone but kies says there is an update but cant install it???
What is the meaning of this...
"This version of device cannot be updatet"...
Ther is still no new firmware or this is fake device?!

You have flashed JK1? You dont need to update with kies. You can update with odin

Yea samsung have promised to release froyo for your mobile so u can wait for that or Flash ur mobile with custom rom
Just go on sam firmware and download the latest jpm and flash

im not very sure cus i dont wanna brick ur phone... but i have flashed lpy to gb and to lpf back to gb den updated to lp9... pls dont try my way cus involved alot flashing which is dangerous...

What is currently the latest UK I9505 firmware at the moment. I have I9505XXUAMDM, but see I9505XXUBMGA floating around being the latest UK firmware, but I don't see it in Kies or OTA.

Hi,
MDM is really quite old now.
If you have not got the option to OTA upgrade,you might consider the Pre-rooted ROM
You still remain "Official".

If you are still 100% Official (unrooted etc.) , then , talk to your carrier.

Best thing to do imho is uninstall Kies (except the drivers) and flash whatever unbranded Euro rom you want with Odin 3.04. See www.sammobile.com/firmware/1 for available roms.

The latest German unbranded DBT MGA rom is very good, running it myself :good:
Im on Vodafone UK and my phone was still MDM without any kies updates. but had issue with sd slot so sent for repair it came back with MEA which defaults of Korean or something.
I think this is the latest uk Firmware I9505XXUBMGA i flashed it in odin cos kies dont like me lol
i have it in dropbox if u need it quick
I could do with MGA as well please. I'm still stuck on MDM.

you cant go from 4.4.2 to 4.3 your going have to wait for you countries update to be released then download and flash again

Now I am using 4.3. The problem is that I don't know what was my stock firmware region/country if I download random region FW I don't get OTA updates...
