Buying att galaxy s4 on eBay for gophone sim? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have a gophone sim card in my galaxy nexus right now and was wondering if I could buy an att galaxy s4 on eBay and use my gophone sim card in it. I'm not sure if att contract phones will work with gophone sim cards. I am considering the Google edition gs4 but I can save at least a few hundred with an att s4 on eBay. Thanks!

Make sure the phone is sim unlocked and you won't have a problem with any sim you use

well you will have to check the sim size... regular, micro mini like that but a sim cutter is sweet for this stuff

I already have a micro sim cutter. Lol. Do gophone sim cards work in att locked phones? My nexus is unlocked but att s4's are cheaper on eBay then unlocked s4's.

Yes a GoPhone sim will work in an ATT sim locked S4. Data may or may not work depending on the plan.

What is the difference between the P7500R(Rogers) and P7500M(Bell) hardware wise? I know one is Rogers is GSM and Bell is CDMA. But does the P7500R and P7500M have the same radio hardware but the tabs are just locked to their prospective networks? Can I get a the 7500M and unlock it and flash a AT&T radio and get 3G data speeds on on the at&t network or will I just get edge speeds?
They are the same. The bell version is hspa not cdma. They are identical in every way, except they are locked to their respective networks. Either one will work fine with att, once they are unlocked

Sim or Micro Sim?

I can't find a clear answer on this, does the nexus 4 use both a standard sim card, a micro sim card, or does it support both?
Thanks in advance

Nexus 4 is micro SIM.
Thank you. Does every carrier have micro sim cards? Currently I only have a regular sim card and am not sure if Fido has micro sims.

I think they all do, yeah. Just give them a call and they'll be able to let you know
I currently have an LG Optimus one with a normal size sim. When I get the Nexus 4 I plan on cutting the sim to micro sim dimensions then sticking it in my new device. Will it work instantly with my existing plan from my Optimus one?

Mine didn't when I moved to the ONE X
So, I jumped on amazon and bought myself a noosy micro SIM cutter.
Worked a treat

Thanks. I just checked fidos website. They do have micro sims. They even have a dual format (micro sim + regular) so I can use my existing captivate as a backup still.

That's a shame, its fun cutting your own.
You go from scared and worried, to really happy and impressed in a few seconds lol
Its a strange old feeling. Haha

Lol yes. If I had to I would try cutting it, but that would mean I couldn't use my cappy as a backup afterwards. Definitely glad fido has the dual sim card option for that reason.

I'm on O2 UK with a full-size SIM. Do you think I could just ask them to give me a micro-SIM?
SIM
The phone has a micro-sim and if you cant get hold of a micro then the only decision is to cut it yourself. The sim still works equally well!

Or just ask your carrier for a new sim. Cutters are fun but why not get a new doggie

I had an iPhone 4 so I had to cut my Sim card but when I moved to HTC Inspire 4G then I still had the extra pieces so i fitted them in the device. Now when I will get Nexus 4, I can simply use the Micro Sim and keep those pieces to a safe place

I'm on T-Mobile UK and when I asked they said it would cost me £10. I tried to cut my own, but the chip is huge! What I did was ring them up and they were able to credit me the money to my next bill. Give that a try...I'm not saying it will work, but its worth a try.

T-mobile charged you £10? I'm with three, and I just walked into my local store a few months back and they exchanged it for me for free.

Don't quote me on it but if your carrier supports any phones that require a micro sim, then yes

Yeah, they call is an "admin fee"...not sure why. All the guy did was get a new SIM, scan it in and then enter in my phone number and details. If I hadn't got my money back I wouldn't have been too happy about it.
AT&T gave me one for free as well..

Nexus 4 in Canada?

I know you can order it in Canada on Google playstore but how do you use it to make phone calls and such.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Put a sim card in it, make sure you have available credit or a line, and dial away
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Is your current sim card a microsim? If so you just take it out put it in the Nexus and away you go. If your sim card is not a microsim then you'll have to obtain a microsim from your mobile service provider or find someone to cut your SIM or cut it yourself with a pair of scissors or a sim cutter.
I don't have a cellphone haven't for over a year can you get just a sim card from like virgin mobile? Or get a cheap pay as you go phone and use that sim?

If I was to give them one from a regular att prepaid non smartphone could they tell that the phone wasnt a smartphone and if I could get by that if I got the prepaid $50 unlimited everything monthly you think that I could take that prepaid sim card and put it in a smartphone and get unlimited Lte data.Does anyone think this could possibly work.
