Here you go.
You can let app the scan for apps or do it manually.
So when you do by yourself , press the + buttongive the name from your app(such as GTA Vice City) in name box,
than select the path from the source obb/data files (such as android/obb/com.rockstargames.gtavc/)
When the app ask if it should make the target Entry automatically.. press no
Next you select the path for the target file for example your USB-Drive : mnt/usbdrive/gamefiles/com.rockstargames.gtavc
then click the hoek button,
Now the app ask you if it should transfer your files to the new entry on usbdrive click no, and do it by
yourself with astrofilemannager or ES....( for me the automatically transfer don't work)
So last thing press the pin button and when turns from grey into green your done.

Hi, just try with repulze and don't Work for me... I will try with another game an other Day

Awesome it worked!!! thank you very much! I can finally enjoy more than 5GB for apps lol :good::laugh::victory:

I can confirm that if you have purchased the pro/donate version (limitless folder links?) is detected if you have the playstore mod installed and have paid/donated.
I am going to try and mount an external HD and use Folder mount to point there for playstore games/roms. Will update my findings when I get the chance to do it.

Hi, I find an other solution....
Install universal init.d, create a script :
su
mount -o bind /your obb folder external /sdcard/Androod/obb

[HELP] I need to restore build.prop

Hello XDA-Developers. I am using the a rooted Orange San Francisco (ZTE BLADE) running CM 7.1 Stable. I was reading a guide on how to edit the build.prop file in the /system/ directory in order to get access to some previously incompatible apps:
howtogeek.com/116456/how-to-install-incompatible-android-apps-from-google-play
I tried it and changed the two lines to 'samsung' and 'Nexus S'. When I rebooted my device later it only showed the green android boot logo and did not proceed booting any further. Its still stuck like that. I have got a copy of the original build.prop file locally on my c:\ drive. I read that you can sort this problem out by using adb. I have got adb set up and now I don't know what to do next. I want my phone fixed without losing any data. Can anyone help?
Reflash your rom or a newer build

No, Just flash it by the recovrry. It will rempoace system files, not the data

I've fixed it. I find that I had build.prop.bak in the system folder and I renamed it to build.prop and it worked. Thanks for your help anyway. This post is closed.

How did you access /system if u couldn't boot
I couldn't boot up the phone but I could boot into clockworkmod recovery. I mounted the system and went to adb. I typed 'adb shell' and changed directory to system. Then I did 'ls' and found that there was a backup of the file that I had changed. The backup was called build.prop.bak so using adb shell I typed 'mv build.prop.bak build.prop' which renamed the file to build.prop and then I rebooted and it worked.

Workaround for the annoying "Parse error" apk

Hi guys,
Just got one of this cheap phones and after unlocking and rooting it (txs to PaulOBrien for that) I got the annoying:
Code:
Parse error
There was a problem while parsing the package
Tried a couple of things, reboots, settings, factory reset but nothing helped but found some easy workaround (Google Drive is not an option for me, not when I'm with no network)
Looks like all these problems are due some fancy security crap in new 4.2/.3 versions (never got it before in any of my previous devices)
Just move the APK to some other directory, adjust the permissions (need group read but just do 777) and install it from there.
"/mnt/obb" is a tmp dir, so anything there will disappear on the next book.
"/data/local/tmp" is what "adb install" uses so it is a good choice.
old post below
So for whoever still has the problem, go and try these steps:
1. Create a directory inside /mnt/obb/ (e.g: /mnt/obb/Apks)
Code:
d:\ADB>adb shell
[email protected]_umts:/ $ su
su
[email protected]_umts:/ # mount -o rw,remount /system
mount -o rw,remount /system
[email protected]_umts:/ # mkdir /mnt/obb/Apks
mkdir /mnt/obb/Apks
[email protected]_umts:/ # chmod 777 /mnt/obb/Apks
chmod 777 /mnt/obb/Apks
[email protected]_umts:/ # ls -la /mnt/obb
ls -la /mnt/obb
drwxrwxrwx root root 2023-12-09 18:46 Apks
[email protected]_umts:/ #
[email protected]_umts:/ # exit
exit
127|[email protected]_umts:/ $ exit
exit
d:\ADB>
2. Now, from whatever file browser you already have on your phone (I'm using Total Commander)
just copy the apk from your "sdcard" to the /mnt/obb/Apks directory
3. Adjust the permissions for the apk file (744 or rwxr--r--)
(I could added some pictures but I'm too lazy
Now it should allow you to install without the bloody error.
So to summarize the trick is to create a directory somewhere else and install the apk from there. It is not good as before, but at least I don't need an internet connection, just move the file, change permissions and install.
Will try to find out why the normal method fails (whenever I have some free time). Tthe way that is mounting the 'external' storage is causing this issue.
I guess in a couple of weeks we will get new builds or a original Motorola fix, but in the meantime this is good enough for me.
Note: /mnt/obb may go after a reboot so try to find a "permanent" one
You don't need adb to create the directory, you can do all these from the phone, just remember to adjust the permissons for the directory.
Another workaround is also to copy the apks to a usb stick and mount the usb stick with a otg cable.
Install then as usual the apks with a file explorer.
I tried that and it works fine!
Or you can just use Astro explorer. Works for me...

If you can install with Astro you can install with any other file manager, so unfortunately this does not apply to you
I does. I have the same problem, I was using Google drive but I tried with Astro and it works.

The problem is with the permissions of the apk so the file manager should make no difference.
I did also tried with Astro before and got the same "Parse error", to me the only way to avoid it is use a external as vampy2k5 said, or a different directory in the file system.
solution
just upload the apk file to google drive and intall from there. works every time, no permissions mod no nothing

I dont think this belongs to "ANDROID DEVELOPEMENT" SECTION.. It would do good in General section..

Also, logging onto GDrive via ES Explorer, or whatever, won't work either
However, logging on directly using the G Drive App works OK, accessing and installing the same apk...weird.
I ve got this bug - Moto G 16 GB tesco
(As far as I remember retail germans got OTA with bugfix for this)
After factory resetting it 3 times and getting no joy, I did this and it worked:
Didn't backup settings, skipped wifi, skipped Google login, connected mobile to PC, transferred apk to mobile, logged into Play Store, downloaded a browser, opened and it worked.
No idea if I got lucky, or did something relevant, but it worked

This is the real workaround without needing to upload to GDrive.....
just copy or move the apk from /sdcard/xxx folder [wherever it is] to a folder in the system, like /data/any_temp_folder.
The apk will install normally then.....

N9005 4.4.2 non root, no write access to extsdcard

I flashed the "official" kitkat leak from sammobile (the one that is on a srandalone file) for my n9005 with odin 3.0.9 and my phone is still non rooted for knox warranty bit reason
Everythings seams to be ok except the fact that some "file explorers" (root explorer, es explorer...) don't have write access to extsdcard. Am I the only one? Is there a fix?
Uggly samsung explorer (MY FILES) is abble to write there, but other apps aren't.
Sorry for my poor english for I'm french.

I've got the same problem on my n900. The only known way at present moment is to replace file platform.xml with a fixed field, but it requires root. Maybe it's possible to do a temporary root and replace a file, but you need a pc.
No solution for non Root user.
Those not working apps wait the developer updates it will settle.
I notice this as the SD card is not accessible under previous Mobile Odin Pro even after the patch, but latest version already solved it.

Write to usb?

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to get the mojo to write to a usb thumb drive. So far I tried this:
"The simple solution, if you're rooted, is as follows:
1. Using a root-enabled file manager, navigate to /system/etc/permissions and make sure you have mounted the file system r/w.
2. Edit platform.xml and find the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission.
3. Add an additional group definition for this permission...<group gid="media_rw" />
4. Save the changes to the file.
5. Restart your tablet."
but it didn't work. What else can I do?

[TOOL] Backup & Restore EFS on OnePlus 3

Backup & Restore EFS on your OnePlus 3[Root Needed]
To Backup:
1) Enable USB Debugging Settings -> Developer Options -> USB Debugging.
If Developer Options not found, go to Settings -> About Phone and tap the build number rapidly 6-7 times till a toast comes up saying 'You're now a developer' . You will now see 'Developer Options' above About Phone in settings.
2) Download the attachment, extract it to a folder, connect your phone to PC through ADB, double click on 'BACKUP EFS.bat'. When it says 'Press any key...' just press any key on your keyboard! You'll see 'modemst1.bin' & 'modemst2.bin' files in the same folder where you extracted the ZIP, make more copies and backup of it! That's your EFS!
DONE!
Backup tested on OnePlus 3 OxygenOS version 3.1.2
To Restore:
1) Connect your phone in fastboot mode to PC, place your 'modemst1.bin' & 'modemst2.bin' in the extracted folder, double click on RESTORE EFS.bat'.
DONE!
I could not find any tool so far and apps from Play store fail to create a backup for OnePlus 3. So I have re-used the tool created by @Paresh Kalinani for OnePlus One and modified it to extract for OnePlus 3.
Credits:

Glad that I could help and thanks for the tool. Will test it later today, when I got a Computer near me

For those running Linux, it's a lot easier
Don't even bother with the Windows tool. All it takes to backup the files is a working ADB connection and two commands:
This copies the info and creates the two files.
Code:
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/sdf1 of=/storage/self/primary/modemst1.bin bs=512"; adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/sdf2 of=/storage/self/primary/modemst2.bin bs=512"
This copies the files to your current directory in the CLI.
Code:
adb pull /storage/self/primary/modemst1.bin; adb pull /storage/self/primary/modemst2.bin
I wasn't even able to get ADB to work in Windows. I installed the OP3 USB drivers, systemwide ADB/Fastboot tool, and still couldn't get it to work. I can see the phone fine in Windows, but ADB just refused to work. I then decided to inspect the BACKUP EFS.bat and RESTORE EFS.bat files to see what they were doing and it was just the two commands I posted here. If you're running Linux, don't waste your time fighting Windows to get this to work.
Restoring is the nearly the same. Run the following commands after connecting the phone via ADB.
Open a terminal in the directory where you saved the files you generated before and run this to copy them to the internal storage:
Code:
adb push modemst1.bin /storage/self/primary/modemst1.bin; adb push modemst2.bin /storage/self/primary/modemst2.bin
Then run this to flash the backups to the phone:
Code:
adb shell su -c "dd if=/storage/self/primary/modemst1.bin of=/dev/block/sdf1 bs=512"; adb shell su -c "dd if=/storage/self/primary/modemst2.bin of=/dev/block/sdf2 bs=512"
Damn, I love Linux.

@Naman Bhalla also posted terminal emulator method here on xda.
To backup you don't require pc ,just run given commands in terminal...but to restore you requires pc(as per Naman bhalla thread).
I have question in my mind that if it's possible to backup then why we can't restore backup just reversing command in terminal
