[Q] Mount Network Share as Local Drive? - Ouya General

I have a ubuntu server running samba, can I mount this on the Ouya so it appears to be local?, (thinking roms) - to save having to use USB sticks.

Also if you use XBMC you can mount the shares there without having to worry about it... now if you are wanting to mount the share so that emulators and other things can use it ( aka creating a symlink folder on sdcard so it points to the share that way ) youll need to compile the kernel and run that.
I think atm no one is daring to release much anything due to the fact that there's a lack of a real recovery method incase something really goes wrong.
I've seen all to well the horrors of the XDA community when something goes wrong... and I'd prefer my body not to be tied to a steak and burnt to a crisp

Busybox supports NFS mounting, this thread has some information about it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=718719
I'm at work right now, so I can't test it.

Maybe try running it from the USB port via a USB memory stick?
Install backtrack on a USB pendrive:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/02/29/usb-backtrack-linux-installation/
then boot from USB (Fn+F10 at boot time).
If you need wifi & 3G connectivity once backtrack has booted, have a look here:

install ubuntu on sd card is like a pendrive?

Debian / SDCard

Is there any way to access files on the SDcard from within Debian, or transfer files between them?
Anyone know?
Oh also, if you start Debian, and then press back and the terminal resets, how do you get back into Debian? I mean, since Debian is still running (somewhere).
I'm guessing not too many Debian users on XDA, eh?
Debian or your desktop environment rather should recognize both partitions automatically. If it doesn't happen, find the device (sdb2 or something like that) and mount it yourself.
If the xserver crashed, log in at the console and run startx. Press Ctrl+Atl+F7 if it has not actually crashed.

Which folder is the sdcard in?
(It's not in mnt, that folder is empty.)

Alternatively, how do I mount it?
I did a "find ./" and came up with nothing:
Any more info if possible?

[UTILITY]ApkManager (apkm) rework of AndroidSuite2012

Apkm (Apkmanager)
As a lot of features in AndroidSuite2012 were not used by the actual user I decided to release a single tool dedicated for decompiling apk's.
It has the same simple to use GUI as AndroidSuite but with less confusing buttons and a much lighter package.
The check box options are not yet implemented this is a alpha I was working on and decided to pull it from my dropbox and release.
Enjoy! Download below
PS Apktool might need replacing. Tomorrow I will update with the same method for decompiling used in AS2012.

This is normally caused if theres a space in the name of the folder. Make sure its not in a folder with a space in the name. Although I've never seen it say \ANDROID. Could you screen shot the program? And remember you need jre installed

[BOOTANIMATION] "Verbose" Boot

Fake verbose boot for a Nexus 5 running any KitKat ROM. As you can see, I wanted "verbose" boot, but I couldn't think of much to do with it. I'm open to suggestions, though.

As always:
Push to /system/media
Set permissions to -rw-r--r--
DO NOT FLASH - CWM/TRWP probably won't let you anyway.
If you are still looking for ideas, maybe do something in the same vein that the one for the Galaxy S4 does (ill link it below).
If not id say just add more "words" such as ram, cpu type and that sort of stuff.

I like the BIOS idea a lot. It seems like it should be a separate thing from this, though, since verbose boot happens after the BIOS screen. But I'll definitely look into it and link it if I get around to doing it!
Hi, weird question..... what's the name of the font used in the animation please?

You need to add the usb device in the settings

There are more full-featured partition tools on Windows than Linux. I've been using DiskGenius for long. There are other tools like Aomei etc, also worth trying.
can confirm gparted live on vmware windows works just fine.
someone also has made a script to make the partitioning bull**** easy to do. sorry for the language, it was really a pain to do. Sorry i forgot the link for the script
Oh, I forgot you want to make an sdcard with bootable Android. In that case, forget about GUI tools like gparted. You should use fdisk and gdisk instead. Booting Android requires a special hybrid MBR partition scheme, which is not not suitable for normal user. You can take this script as an reference, it could run from a ubuntu livecd.
