Google stop working on Android OS - Galaxy S III General

Hey guys.
I had an email from a Google employee saying that Android 4.3.1 Jelly Bean set for release in December 2013 is the last ever Android version.
Seems Google are helping Samsung to release Smartisan OS and another Bada OS build.

Noooo..
That can't be..:what::sly:
Are you sure that it wasn't a mere prank??

Lies. How would 4.3 JELLYBEAN be the last firmware when they are yet to bring out Key Lime Pie?

Troll very much?
Seriously though... Google is never going to stop with Android. Especially not with the market share they now have.

cool story

It seems key lime pie is no key lime pie I'm afraid. I'm an android user too and I'm just as disappointed as you are. Its embarrassing for Google. A story I read up on is starting to make sense now. On XDA someone posted a thread to remove Google apps from their device. Why would someone make and advertise a mod to remove Google from their device. Literally crying because its defeats the object of rooting and having ROMs.

Hey guys. I work for Apple and I'd like to announce that iOS 6.3.2 set for release by the end of 2013 will be the last iOS version ever.
See, I can also make up stories

What a massive load of massive b0llocks! Why would they stop an enormous revenue and data gathering stream? Have you any idea how much money google makes from Android?

Oh don't get in a hurry. They completed a feat of epic proportions to launch this with JB. Rest assured they will rest on their laurels and update 4.2 when they feel like it. I predict 8+ months after the official US launch, sadly.
I'm actually fine with JB, I could care less with multiple accounts as the only time someone else will be using my phone is for a game or a phone call. JB w/ Proj Butter is all I need

Yeah, that's what I had read too. It's called project roadrunner.
It will be interesting to see how much more it improves the already stellar battery life of the note 2. That is if the rumors are even true.

Actually the Project RoadRunner thingy was a hoax the author of the article later backtracked and apologised for not doing a thorough check with his sources and being unproffesional.

EVEN if the rumor was true about 4.2 having much better battery life. It'll matter more to that HTC 1080p device than the Note 2, considering how good the battery life is on the Note 2 -and- the fact that it's removable.

Because Android is hardware agnostic, meaning it is not related to any particular device. It's not exclusive to the N7. This forum is specific for N7 related issues. Which is why such a question in this forum is out of place.

Latest rumors are that Samsung is already working in version 4.3 for samsung galaxy s3, so I expect the update to come even earlier.
LOL, just hope it'll be ready before Android 5, or else samsung is never going to catch up with the latest firmware. They haven't even release android 4.2, and they're suposed to be working on Android 4.3? What a joke.
Either way, I gave up waiting for the laggy Samsung firmwares.. even Omega or ARHD start lagging after a while.

itll be out officially when google officially releases it. only google knows when that will be. asking when its going to be will only get you opinions when the person giving the opinion thinks google will release it.
The rumours are "somewhere in the coming weeks". There's no official ETA. Best is to be patient. It will be there when it's there.

HTC stated the Google Play Edition HTC One would be getting 4.4 within 15 days of KitKats unveiling/release (October 31), so we should be seeing KitKat for Nexus 4 within the next few days. I don't think Google would want to risk alienating Nexus users any further by releasing an update to another device before Nexus devices.
Really?
