[Q ]No email preview on lockscreen? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does everyone else get previews for unread email on their lockscreen? I get the SMS preview but just the statusbar notification for emails (I'm using the stock email app). Is there some obscure setting for turning this on/off I might have messed with?

Nope... you may need to wait for a firmware update or use another.email app from google play.

Thought I'd figured it out, but no luck. Another option would be to disable the other notification previews (sms and calls) and use DashClock for the notifications instead, but I can't find a way to do this either on the S4 - apparently it's possible on the HTC One...?

Looks like the stock messaging app notification. Disable from settings in the app.

That's the stock sense SMS icon. Did you do a full wipe????

Check your handcent notifications. I think it has an option to use that icon for messages.
Also, when you pull down the notification bar, and select that message, what happens? It should take you to the app causing the notification.

SMS pop up incompatible?

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew of an app similar to SMS pop up (or Go SMS pop up notifications) that worked with stock SMS app. I want to keep stock so the lockscreen notification (that only appear for missed texts) still work, but with SMS Popup on the "close and mark as read" does not work and it also makes it so if I open a text thread it isn't marked as read - I have to click the exact message within the thread for it to be marked unread. Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution?
Thanks!
you'll probably just need to wait for the app to be updated. With the S3 being such a big phone I'm sure it'll be updated to work with it soon.

SMS QuickMessage Popup: don't syns with SMS Widget

Hi,
I have a problem with the QuickMessage Popup in Paranoid Android, I had it with my old phone (Defy, CM) too.
When I read/reply to a SMS using QuickMessage Popup, it's stay mark as unread in the SMS Widget, it's so anoying because the message stay in white, as unread in the SMS Widget, and my phone think I didn't read it so the LED notification stay ON.
Can you help me please ? Thanks !

Is it perhaps two different programs? Also, in order to change the LED notification you may want to use a different program that controls the Messaging of the stock (not widget) or you should turn off notifications in the SMS Widget. If the two are different programs then chances are they won't work the same way and will likely have problems as such.

Thanks for your reply;
No the stock ones.
And I'd like to keep notifications.
It's pretty fixed with Pacman rom, CM's SMS app of PA is outdated...

Message notification icon

I see the same generic icon when I get an email or text. I can change the sound I get but is it poosible to change the icon to be different for email than texts? I had this on my old droid charge but cant seem to find where to change it on this phone.
I swicthed to Nova launcher but I am not rooted or anything.
Thanks!
You could use an alternate mail app, or use an app which'll notify you of a new SMS and turn off the stock SMS notifications. Take a look at "SMS popup", you can use it for SMS notification without using the popup thing.

[Q] How to prevent the default SMS app notifications from appearing on lockscreen?

I have looked through the settings but there's nothing that disable notifications on the lockscreen.
the thing is I have setup the default SMS app with Dashclock/Dashnotifier but the SMS app ignores all of that and appears on its on separate panel in the lockscreen.
hope you guys can chime in on this

hmm. I tried that option before but it doesn't change anything :/
Unticking Preview Message just means you won't see the contents of the SMS and just "Message" instead
Just been wondering about this? ? bug
