[Q] [7.1 n198] [Nook App] Unable to download Nook App 2.7.2 to CM7.1/n198

I recently installed CM7.1/n198 on an SD card (Sandisc 16G class 2) and have been happy wih everything except one thing.
I am unable to download the Nook App (2.7.2) from the market, which claims I am not installing from a compatible device.
Since this is a clean install (gapps -gb-20110613-signed), I dont believe there is a way to revert my Google Market back to the 'old version'.
How can I get Nook to run on my Nook? It seems counterintutive.
You could try clearing market app data. Settings->Aplications->Market->clear data.
If that doesn't work you'll need to probably change your dpi, theres a couple tutorials around the forum on how to get the market working, most of them just work for some time. Since the market isn't a 100% working with the NC you'll need to do the clear data steps from time to time.

You still got a market update... you can revert to the older market as described by freezing/renaming/deleting marketupdater.apk and going into manage apps and uninstalling updates.

As far as I am aware, the google apps package people are including with the nightly updates is still the old market. Yours may have later updated on its own...
Indeed Market DID update on its own, so reverting (a few times actually) did the trick eventually.
Do we know why the market claims the nook color cannot run the B&N Nook app?

Long story. Just stick with the old market or move up to nightly 200 where the LCD density was resent to 160.

CM7 Kindle and Play Store

I did the update-cm7-wipeall.zip ROM on my grandson's Kindle. All worked great until we tried to install the Google Play Store. I downloaded the apk file for the Play Store and loaded it. When you launch it it will open and request you setup an account. Click on OK and the application dies. I've done a lot of searching around and see there are problems with the Play Store but mostly "Server Error" problems. When he login into his gmail account it says there is no devices for his account. When I login I only see my Nook Tablet. Almost appears Google is playing games
Thanks

Fyi you should have posted this in Q and A or the ROMS thread but You have to flash the Google Apps zip in twrp/CWM to get market to work.. Download it go into recovery twrp or cwm with ever you have wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash gapps zip then boot up and sign in

Thanks DJ! I will try this tonight. Sorry about the post. I thought for sure I posted this in the general threads where it says
Discussion about the Amazon Kindle Fire (general chat, tips & tricks, Q&A, etc)
If I would have posted this in the Development thread on the Nook Table forum I would have got my hands slapped real good

No problem... It should work the reason why is just installing the app doesn't install the framework or make it a system app. And if your into flashing ROMS try the HellfireKindle cm7 its a bit more smoother and more up to date than the wipeall.zip. You flashed

[Q] Netflix Problems on CM10; running off SD card

Howdy,
I really did search the forums, so I'm sorry if the answer is out there and I couldn't find it.
I'm running CM 10 from an SD card on my Nook Color. My Android version is now 4.1.2, with Cyanogen Mod Version of 10-20121220-NIGHTLY-encore (the latest nightly. I had one from 12-12 before that).
Prior to this I ran a version of CM7. Everything worked fine on the CM7, I just thought I should check out Jelly Bean.
Everything works fine on the new (Android 4.1.2) system EXCEPT netflix. I downloaded it from the Google Play store, and all it does is hang on the loading screen.
I'm competent to flash downloaded nightlies on my SD card, but not to build ROMs myself.
Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

The updated Netflix version in the Play store will not work. You need to install Netflix version 1.81. Search this forum and you will find the link to the apk. Or you can Google Netflix version 1.81 apk download. There is also a modified black screen version that will work.
Thanks so much. I found it and downloaded it.
What exactly do I DO with the apk? Put it in my boot sector and boot into recovery?

When you download the apk it should be in your download folder. Use the download manager (icon with green downward pointing arrow) to select the file. Box will pop up asking if you want to install. Select install. If you want to move Netflix to SD card go to system, apps, all, Netflix. You will see an option to move it to SD card.
Awesome! Got it, thanks so much! Consider this solved.

Looking for info on which version of GAPPS i should use for Shield TV 16GB.

I recently flashed Zulu99's Full Android 1.8 rom on my 16gb shield tv and it loads 5.1 just fine, but after flashing any Gapps i get the same "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped." message at the welcome screen and after skipping setup and trying to add an account or signing into google apps i get the same message over and over again. Should i use a certain Gapps package for the rom?
EDIT: I'm wrong. Ignore this post.
i found out those works.

You will have to flash your system again without the gapps then install this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
And if you have video playback problems you will need to downgrade the shield tv to version 1.3 before flash everything again.
Good luck!
Sorry for the delay
My issue is resolved now. Thought i would post the fix.
Turns out i needed to wipe everything in TWRP using advanced wipe option and flash again, i had to wipe everything but the external storage and then i had to flash full android 1.8 and then the arm64 5.1 gapps from open gapps again. After that i was able to sign into Google Play, but now i have a new problem. some apps i installed when in shield tv 1.4 are now showing as incompatable in google play. Not sure if it has something to do with downgrading to 1.3 to fix the video issues i had.

I have the same problem about some app saying incompatible in the play store but I guess it is more a problem related with full android 1.8 being a stock android 5.1 and not a android tv version.
But as stock you have still a lot more apps compatibles.
In the worst case you can still use another market,or use a computer with a apk downloaded extension or directly download the apk you need.
I installed a lots of incompatible apps without problems on mine,it is mostly test and try.
Note if you want to gain back the ability to move apps to sd, link2sd is compatible if you format the sd correctly. Most games do not mind you use it to move obb and ext data to sd to save some space on the 16gb shield tv.

Well in this case you will need a mapper like tincore or controller2touch or something like that I guess.
Will this file also work?
gapps-5.1-arm64-2015-07-17-15-08
Seems to be more recent. Not sure if relevant, probably the other one will update itself.
