[Q] Incompatible with other applications using the same shared user id - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi,
I've seen a number of similar threads but none of the methods (be it starting from some old gaps version or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219029) helped in my case. I have the GingerIceJelly v2 ROM / Galaxy Y Duos S6102 and getting this error while trying to install Google Play Services as required by other google apps. Any ideas (apart from full reset)?
cheers
Jiri

Hi
thanks for your response - do you mean the part "Downloading gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip" ..etc? I tried this earlier but it did not help. Perhaps there is something else in this particular ROM which causes a conflict - unfortunately the error does not say which package is at fault. Has someone else with the same ROM (GingerIceJelly v2) managed with this recipe or suffering by it at all?
cheers
Jiri

It did not help unfortunately. The gapps got installed as a version of youtube gets updated shortly after the installation. Then it comes to Talk/Hangouts but it has the same problem as before. Thanks for your help though - if you have another suggestion please let me know.
cheers J.

Extract the gapps zip, paste the files inside it (expect META-INF) to their apporiate location. After that go to CWM, wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Then do fix permission and reboot. It worked on my Mom SGY using Hyperion 8.

Do exactly the same thing as with other ROMS
1) Download the ROM
2) Copy file to main directory in your SD Card
3) Reboot to xRecovery
4) Format system, format data, format cache and in advanced wipe battery stats and dalvik's cache.
5) Install custom zip, then choose downloaded file.
6) Full wipe and reboot.
USE SEARCH AND READ POSTS
P.S. I had problem with installations from market (I was unable to sign in to Google Talk). Full wipe helped.

[Q] Dorimanx kernel 4.2

I tried to flash the kernel on a ICS 4.0.3 - CM9 italian ROM by entering ROM's initrd.gz into initrd-custom kernel directory, I did wipe cache partition and wipe Dalvik cache and flashed with these parameters :
YES - NO2way rec;
NO - sense or ICS;
YES - for install as step 2 choise;
NO - for install rom only for ICS;
YES - MAGLDR;
YES - Install Busybox;
YES - Install VPN fix;
YES - Install Zram virtual swap
but the phone got stuck going to open any app (I tried with ilmeteo.it with gmail and quick system info, but just started the app screen remained locked and the phone was restarted after about 30 "of freeze).
I also tried to flash using the zip file directly as issued by Dorimanx (after wipe cache partition e wipe dalvik cache) with the same result.
Is the kernel incompatible with ICS rom or I wrong to insert some parameters?
Thanks
P.S. I still can't post in "HD2 Android NAND Development" section

After Trying many Custom roms i found that in only hyperion latest build google play services works no other rom allows it After doing a lot of search in google and xda i found out a reason for .It occurs due to signing of apps by kitchen or by removing there odex part or by editing there signature. Hope this process will work on any android device with custom rom.

will work on any stock based rom
you just have to wipe data and then mount system and flash the zip
you dont need to install the rom again as you are wiping data
if you dont wipe data it will bootloop
My device is comprised of the api 22 sdk and moverio sdk. Is there any way to get around the issue of my "custom, stock rom" not being compatable with the installer?

[FLASHABLE ZIP] Google Gapps + Amazon AppShop - HDX 7", 8.9" (Thor, Apollo)

BE SURE TO PLAY ON A SAFESTRAP ROM
Here is how to "easily" install Google Apps (gapps) on our HDX devices (tested on 7", should work on 8.9").
This procedure will keep all amazon app services working, thanks to an Xposed module.
Installation
Root your device
Install Xposed Framework + my xposed module "HDXPosed"
Copy thor-gapps-installer-1.zip to sdcard
Flash thor-gapps-installer-1.zip from safestrap recovery
Informations
thor-gapps-installer-*.zip is just stock jb gapps with "welcomescreen.apk" removed and stock launcher added if needed
all work is done in HDXPosed module, more information on the HDXPosed thread
Download
thor-gapps-installer-1.zip

Oups, forget to specifiy that i have the 7" model ...
Dunno, the main and most work is in the "services.odex" file, so maybe it's the same on both devices ! Is safestrap available on the 8.9 ? If there is a way to recover from "system" tricks then i could find the time to recompile this file for you guys.

Hi,
after a lot of work this night i finally got everything up and working including working play store downloads !
Here is a simple howto, i'm sure confirmed users won't have problems to get it working, and for other i'm sure there will be other howto in the next few days
BE SURE TO WORK ON A SAFESTRAP ROM
So here we go !
Start from a stock, clean backup
Remove a few system apps (amazon mp3, slik browser...) to free space on system partition for gapps else it won't completely install
Install gapps from recovery : gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip
Remove "/system/app/SetupWizard.apk" to bypass gapps welcome screen as it depends on stock "Settings.apk"
Remove "/system/app/MarketIntentProxy_1010.apk" (not sure if needed)
Replace "/system/framework/services.odex" with this one (recompiled with signature check disabled) : services.odex
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProvider.apk"
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProvider.odex"
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProviderUi.apk"
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProviderUi.odex"
Copy CM-10.1 DownloadProvider.apk to "/system/app/"
Copy CM-10.1 DownloadProviderUI.apk to "/system/app/"
Update google play games services to version 4.0.34 (not sure if needed anymore as it will probably be downloaded from playstore)
If you get some fc, try clearing cache and dalvik cache. I will maybe try to build a custom rom from that but time will probably miss me !
I'm sure that confirmed hackers here will get it working with the provided files and write a better howto soon
Enjoy and merry Christmas !

You mean you was able to download some updates from the market then boot loop ? After the hard reset is it working? I didn't had a lot of time to play with it but didn't had a problem yet. I may have done other tweeks that i forget but don't think so. I know i did "chmod 777 /data/dalvik-cache" as i think there was some permissions problem there but tougth it was not the case. Yep, after downloading some app updates from the google play market, it automatically restarted and looped. After the hard reset it did not work. I reverted back to my stock backup for the time being. I tried fixing permissions in Safestrap, but that did not work either. I wonder if others are having this problem.
I think there is not a lot of others as it's the first hack out there that (should) works !

Do not use such packages which allows free in app purchases.
First, uninstall that app.
I will give you the link to the play store apk. Try to install it.
Click here to download
If it doesn't work, try to flash gapps for gingerbread for our phone. Search on google or xda to get that gapps files link.
If that also doesn't work, flash stock rom again.
Simply Install Via System App Installer...

First, uninstall that app.
I will give you the link to the play store apk. Try to install it.
Click here to download
If it doesn't work, try to flash gapps for gingerbread for our phone. Search on google or xda to get that gapps files link.
If that also doesn't work, flash stock rom again.

I checked the mediafire link that I have posted by myself.
Although, I am not sure what that error means, use a pc to download that file to prevent these kind of errors.
Extract the zip file, copy the apk to your sd card and install it.
Tell me if it doesn't work so that I will update the links.
Solved.. with lucky patcher after making it system application

Simple solution is Open Root Explorer. Go to /system/etc
Delete file named "hosts".
Restart and play store is working.
Don't use any apps which say free app

I agree. But after comleting that process, there's no need to uninstall Freedom. You can fix this issue and then use Freedom without problem. It worked for me at my 7inch Tab 2
