who cares
who cares cyanogen is better

Yeah..for me,cyanogenmod satisfies my requirements...so does the stock 4.1...there are'nt much of upgrades in 4.2..
Infact I wish samsung skips the 4.2 update like they did for some mid range phones last year and gives us the next major upgrade(if there will be) I.e 4.3 or 5.0.
Else 4.2 CM built with latest source would be awesome

[INFO] Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean - Note in The List

Today Samsung started to roll out Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300.
Poland is the first market to receive Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update. The Jelly Bean update will be available to other countries and carriers really soon as well.
While releasing the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300, Samsung has also released a full list of devices that will be upgraded to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
Samsung update the next devices and tablets to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean…
Galaxy S III
Galaxy S II
Galaxy S II LTE
Galaxy Note
Galaxy S Advance
Galaxy Chat
Galaxy Ace 2
Galaxy Beam
Galaxy Ace Plus
Galaxy Mini 2
Galaxy S Duos
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Galaxy Note 10.1
Samsung also update some unknown device called Galaxy Music.
But we think this is just the new Galaxy Player 5.8
The Jelly Bean update will have a few enchantments like:
- Better performance, thanks to Project Butter it’s even smoother and faster
- Reorganized settings menu
- 2 Homescreen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now
- Resizable Pop-up play screen
courtsey:Sammobile
Can you please provide the link?dnt tell me the name of the site as i know it is sammobile.

I for one am looking forward to this, if "butter" is enabled for my note!
If i have understood it correctly, then Google have worked on a project called butter, whichis designed to make the android os more smoooth? wuhuuuu

thats why it is samsung usa... they only take care of usa phones, not the international ones and the n7000 is international. you need support for yours you just need the country it was manufactured for, google samsung from that country and either email them or call them. hate to say it but that is the downfall of owning an international phone but the upside is you dont have the bloatware that the us carriers bog the phones down with purposely.
and as sahilarora2003 stated... just flash the stock rom of choice to your phone yourself... it wont void the warranty and you can rock whatever stock rom you please...

imo no this is news that should be posted as a separate thread. also sticky jb thread is just for keeping away all the "when will jb is coming out for note" threads.
---------- Post added at 07:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:25 AM ----------
also this is good news but i dont get google they can easily pass 4.0 and directly release 4.1 . and imagine s3 released nearly the same time with iphone5 having jb on it. that would be a huge disaster for apple.
i hope Jellybean will increase the battery life of my Note even further :fingers-crossed:

I have to agree here, I do not think of the JB sticky as the source for good JB information, just a good source for Q&A about JB. I would rather new news about JB be left in new threads. If it is not new, then by all means lock it up and let it sink to the bottom.

I see the Note on #4, whereas the Note 10.1 is on the last position. Anyway, does it automatically mean the order in which the devices get JB? For me, ATM it is just a list, nothing more.
Are we really sure that this will be the n7000 and not the at&t version ?

Galaxy S2 Getting Jelly Bean Next month!

"The Samsung Galaxy S2, the Galxy Note and the Galaxy Note 10.1 are the devices that we expect to run Android 4.1 at some point in the immediate, or not-so-immediate, future. In case you happen to own any of these three devices, you’ll be happy to hear that Samsung Sweden has confirmed that all of them will get Jelly Bean in the coming months.
The Galaxy S2 will be updated to Jelly Bean at some point in November, while the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be upgraded in Q4 2012. Considering that we’re already in the fourth quarter of the year, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Galaxy S2 receive the update at some point next month, with the phablet and tablet to receive it after the handset.
According to Samsung Sweden, the Jelly Bean updates will be available over-the-air or via KIES, but we’ll cross those bridges once we get there. Needless to say that while Samsung may be ready to start releasing the updates, it’s still up to the carriers to issue them."
(Yes, I know there are many JB ROMs out there, but I am unsure if the Project Butter Source code is out for our GS2s)

Excellent news, will give our devs some much needed code to play with :cyclops:
Only thing I'm a bit affraid is availablity of leaked test builds for now. I remember S3 had first builds a month before official release But good info anyway.
Plus goes for saying us atleast we are able to carry JB and now even Exynos sources so CM will move on!
I'm new to Samsung. How do we get/search for leaks?
On the atrix we hacked Motorola's servers to check for updates/test builds (called cheesecaking)
Similar type of way for Samsung?

Great news, im having trouble with my MHL HDMI cable working smoothly on jellybam, maybe there something in the code that can fix this.
I waited for months for the official Samsung ICS update only to find nothing much had changed in their ROM. Since then I have been on custom ROMs getting the true Android experience as Google intended it to be. Would definitely encourage people to root and flash custom ROMs (as long as they follow instructions and make backups). It's the way forward!

The new 5110 4.1.1 ROM works fine on the 5113 and the IR blaster still works on it. I think you'll be waiting a while for an official 5113 ROM (if any!) It can be installed via Odin & without breaking warranty.

:cyclopsO NOT waste your time and Samsung's doing this. Samsung is cranking out a huge number of updates on lots of devices and you already have a working 4.1.1 version so stop being silly.

IR working is also true over on the 7.0. They've found that with the new 3110 ROM on a 3113, IR is still working fine.
The 4.1 from the -3110 is working perfect on our 3113. with no issues.. What about gettings 4.2.1 Like we have on my nexus 7 .. If your going to go after something we do not have push for what we will likely not get... 4.2 with the multi user likely not make it to many devices.
Just my two cents.. by the way Samsung will not pay no mind to threats Ask Apple..
well how do I change the device back to a 5113
the market wont allow me to dl an app i think is a region thing with the 5110
tried editing build prop but that didnt work

That's a really old release of 4.1.2. There are loads of 4.1.2 updates since then. That will be what you are getting prompted for. You're 6 months out of date.
I've been wondering when were they thinking about releasing this since the leak has been around since february (i think) and the S4 has been released already. But to be honest, I couldn't care less about those "features" for an update, all i want is multitasking fixed. Which i'm fairly sure we won't get. Samsung should stick with fixing the basics instead or pushing out mostly useless crap. Guess i'll stick with aosp and just get a nexus at some point...

Your point was Kies tells you there is an update and that it must be 4.2

I did think about that since i read somewhere about the extra sensors involved, i just thought they'd adapt or disable functions that really required them or at least do it in a different way that wouldn't need said sensors - there's software to mesure heart rate with the camera, which isn't the most conventional way and, to be honest, if someone told me before that was possible i'd most likely dismiss it as a prank app/gimmick, but i did see it roughly working

What do you think about the new android version. In my opinion, it's great , with better UI( if the leaked photos are true) , less RAM usage and new kernel. What do you think about the S2? Will Samsung update our phone ? In my opinion Samsung will not update the S2 or the Galaxy Ace or Mini...

Samsung will not update it
Cyanogen will port it
Everithing will be ok except the fact that samsung will not give another update for s2 even 4.2.2 or 4.3 ... why they should think about 4.4?

4.2.2 and 4.3 are full of bloatware...that's why our s2 can't run it....in fact 4.4 will be slimmer...Most of the sites, say that android 4.4 will be released in October 14, which in my case is tomorrow....

Huh I find no issue with 4.2.2, its the best thing yet! We have spent so much time optimzing 4.2.2 that it is so stable and usable. Fast forward to 4.3 which is much newer we have spent much less time on it so for sure it is not as good. However I dont understand which part of either these versions, 4.2.2 or 4.3 is bloated care explaining? Even if Android 4.4 has so called less RAM usage and kernel improvements it would not really matter to us. Take kernel changes for example. We can't just port AOSP code and use it for our devices correct? Remember the time when we only had official 4.0 and 4.1 was released by Google. Everybody wanted Project butter. Due to Sammy not giving us official 4.1 and its source code on time (thank god they actually gave the source code..) we would never have gotten close to full project butter experience which we still lack fully. So if Sammy does not give us what we need then we can use 4.4 without its so called perks like "less RAM usage"
Yeah 4.4 should have lower hardware requirements. However, it doesn't matter because our exynos device still lacks proper drivers. That's worsen by the fact that we currently have no Galaxy S2 devs left working on CM to port new android versions to our device

The bloated versions are Samsung's ones... Pure Android is not bloated

Yes I know that. But our phone has no problem running 4.2.2 or 4.3 that are AOSP based...... So whats the purpose of this thread anyway.... Cus Sammy has no intention of ever updating this phone to a higher version...

Untill now, the S2 is running is able to run 4.3.1 and 100% it will able to run 4.4
Samsung adds a lot of bloatware to their official roms which make the device slow
that's why I never use stock rom
Yea but what about cool features like multi window smart functions and motion ?
If this doesn't mean smth for you .... what about drivers? 4.2/4.3 have a lot of glitches with graphics and cuz samsung dont release exynos source code our beloved s2 will die one day in a near future
