[Q] Touchscreen not working after custom rom!! - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hello there
So it been 3 days working on my moms phone with no luck!!
I tried to flash hyperion 7, first i've rooted successfully using an update.zip file using stock manager.
then flashed the mod using the same way, ofcourse cleared the cache + wipe.
Then all worked fine, the phone will boot successfully to the welcome screen with the green droid, then the sim unlock pad will pop up, but the touchscreen will not work! hard buttons works fine!
re-tried it many times, and then tried flashing the stock rom by odin, with no luck!
the touchscreen still as is!!
googling and searching this forums for 3 days, and a lot of threads, but with no luck.
the only thing that i came up with and didnt try it is flashing kernel, I don't anything about this...
also someone mentioned flashing drivers for tft ??!
plzzzzzzz any help
:crying:

UPDATE:
-installed CWM from zip file through stock recovery
followed this: androidlegend com/install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-y-gt-s5360/
-installed Savie-kernel using CWM
followed this: shubhamnishad.blogspot /2013/05/list-of-best-kernel-for-samsung-galaxy-y.htm
- installed hyperion-8 using CWM
followed this: galaxyyoungdev.blogspot /2013/03/romkernelmodhyperion-8-w-plus-features.html
again, full working, but no touch screen!!
What should i do now? try another kernel?

Just flash stock with odin, search for doky's thread

I did!
flashed stock rom multiple times using multiple odin versions and multiple sources for stock rom.
I tried the first 2 out of 3 (middle east versions) of doky's thread.
Should i try the third one too? what is the difference?

Help please

So I was trying to help a friend flash stock using Odin because his phone app was being a piece of crap, he was on a CM 11 nightly and, well, long story short I almost bricked his phone not knowing there is a limit on how many times you can flash a Samsung device using Odin because of the yellow triangle. I can't use triangle away because it's the CM ROM on a CM kernel, I was able to get rid of the softbrick by using a older CM ROM on his SD card, this wouldn't be a problem if his phone app was still working, his WiFi was working and if his sound was working, but it's not. So to recap and for the question, Samsung is stupid, and can anyone help?
Thanks in advanced

First thing you have to do for anyone to help you is,provide which build you were on and which stock rom you were trying to flash. There are tons of people here with great knowledge if you can be real specific.

Fairly sure there is no limit to the amount of times you can flash using Odin. There is a counter but no limit
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Sorry, Samsung isn't stupid or they wouldn't just magically be a $250+billion dollar company that has been around for 76 years.
Because you jumped in and were unsuccessful with what you were doing doesn't constitute failure on their part.
How about taking that phone - S4 back to bone stock. ALL the answers on how to do that are here. In fact in the last couple days I've personally given instructions on how to do that for a number of people here in the help section. Do some searching and reading and you'll find your answers.
It always helps to come to a manufacture's section and say how sh**y they are. Makes those of us who choose to use and support them feel ever so helpful.
Ok sorry should've been more specific, I'm not new to these forums I was just in a hurry, also seriously guys I'm just frustrated I know Samsung is not stupid you don't have to post their history, they're awesome it's just dumb that they have a limit, and yes if you install the latest stock Sprint update (the one I did before I rooted and rom'd his phone) there wouldn't be a thing such as triangle away. Anyway on Odin it says it passed when flashing stock (the firmware that comes with the phone) but it does it in 4 seconds, and when his phone boots up and it just restores CM, so far everything we've tried either softbricks it or restores CM. Is there anything that completely and I mean completely restores this phone

Where are you getting this idea there is a limit on Odin flashes?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
There is no limit, as mentioned already, with Odin.
I've used it probably a hundred times since I got my S4. I know others have used it more.
Take some time, look through the Q&A/help forum and you'll see some posts I've helped others with, in the last 24hours alone, on how to get back to stock.
Edit:
Okay read this post. It'll get you to stock. Just read the instuctions on how to do it.
Ok I'll try it thanks for tolerating me I can be hard to understand when panicking

Glad you got it working and THANK YOU for posting back - that is what helps the community.
I understand the panic too. Especially when things are f'd up.
But if there is one valuable lesson I've learned in my half century of life; if you can just pause, relax and step back, many problems are easily resolved. And better yet more avoided by haste.
Good luck with the new phone setup.
OK one more quick thing, we flashed it successfully but now it won't boot its been over an hour after we flashed and its stuck on the Sprint logo

You can first boot to stock recovery (power on + volume up) and choose a 'factory reset'. That often clears stuff up pretty well
Or
Try and PC Oding a stock MK2 kernel. Then battery pull and restart after. Saw this on a few phones
I'll have to search to find it but it's here somewhere.

[Noobs Guide] How to get "DN3 (Ditto Note 3)" ROM working in Samsung Galaxy Note 2

[Noobs Guide] How to get "DN3 (Ditto Note 3)" ROM working in Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Hi Everyone,
I just now finished installing the ROM successfully so i thought i would atleast make this small tutorial for others, thinking it might be helping them. You wouldn't believe me. I haven't slept the whole night (9hrz without gap) to get this ROM working in my note 2.
Now, a few things about my phone. Trust me, you will require this info because you will then understand what your phone and my phone is. So you could have a clear idea on how to start or where to start.

Phone : Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100
Android Version : 4.1.1 (Its the same version that i had since the time i bought the phone, i didn't update or anything.)
Rooted : NO

Firmware: Indian firmware (sorry, i don't remember the firmware name)

Now, prerequisites...!
◘ A Samsung Galaxy Note II with definite 70% and above battery if you are a beginner.
◘ The data cable that is actually working when connected between phone & laptop.
◘ An external SD card with a minimum of 4 GB storage so that you can place the ROM to flash it through Recovery.
◘ DN3 (Ditto Note 3) ROM from E-team (Electron Team) downloaded & kept ready in your computer, because it's about 1.48 GB size.
[Important: See that the ROM is downloaded without any breaks. Check whether it is the "Download Success" or "Download Fail" in the Download Manager. If the ROM is not successfully downloaded & you continue to flash it into your Note 2. Then you are going to feel very bad (Trust me). So check it & only then be ready to start.]

I have one question.
I need to use obligatorily external SD card?
Or I can place to internal too?
All custom roms flashed via external SD ?
How is the battery drain in this rom? I tired quite a few 4.3 based roms and the battery drain was terrible. So I happily went back to 4.1.2 based rom with perseus kernel minimal ram usage and amazing battery life. So just wanted to know about the battery drain and whether it can be used with the perseus kernel?

I need to use obligatorily external SD card?
answer : Yes, OBLIGATORILY external SD card
I say internal also can be used, but the operating manner then would be little complicated for which you might land up into a CONFUSED situation. So it's much better to do it through a SD card
Or I can place to internal too?
Answer : Yes, you can place ,but i told u right If u want it complicated, you may if you already have an idea about Philz touch recovery & etc, then, step up
All custom roms flashed via external SD ?
Answer : You see, most of the people actually try to follow the safe and secure way so they do the flash of ROM's from the External SD card
Now doubts clarified ?
If got any more :cyclops: , just lemme know
Your Doubts just got clarified WiTH SCREENSHOTS

Ok, I'm looking to do this myself, I'm on a i317 (at&t lte variant) and have found the ROM for that version. My question is, I was told that it would be "trickier" to flash the custom ROM because I have already updated my phone to 4.3 stock. Now I'm aware that flashing the custom ROM will now void my warranty, that is not my concern, my question is what will make it "trickier?" I was not able to receive a response from the person that said this, and now I'm just trying to gather info before attempting this.

I was under the same impression after I upgraded my N7105T (Australia - Telstra) to 4.3 as well.
The reality is that it is not trickier in the slightest. What did happen for me upon the initial flashing of the ROM from Philz recovery was that I was stuck on the initial boot logo until I pulled out the battery and restarted my phone in Philz recovery again. I then flashed the bootloader, thinking that was why it got stuck. After that, all went just fine after performing the installation/flashing again in Philz recovery. I performed a reboot into recovery after the install was completed, factory reset the handset and all was fine thereafter. I was able to restore my data as well as the majority of my apps. Some needed reinstallation, such as phone banking for obvious reasons but all in all, it was very much the painless process.
I'm really happy with it now. I just recently flashed it with the AGNi kernel as well, which was a nice improvement though I've changed from the zzmove battery profile to zzmove optimised profile to see if I still get any issues with apps slowing down to a grinding halt before needing a reboot of the handset to get it back up to speed again.

Was it absolutely necessary for you to quote my entire message when it had very little to do with your question? Please just use the reply button instead of the reply with quoting next time. It will clutter the forums a lot less.
As for your wife not working, I would suggest a divorce.
For the rest of the things you're seeking, I searched the forum and found everything I needed.
Sorry quoting yoi
Sorry I quoted your entire post.
If I had an answer, I won't border asking for help cos I still can't see how you have helped me with your post.
Thanks anyway
In searching through the forums and Google, I found only bootloaders for N7100. What I did find was recommendations to simply upgrade to the official Samsung 4.3 release using Kies and then following the installation procedure for DN3.
Not sure why I'm only seeing N7100 versions of the MJ5 bootloader but everything is smooth on my N7105T with the MK2 bootloader.

Thanks for the response, I ended up doing it and much like yourself, it went beautifully. I'm quite happy with it. I haven't really had any kernel issues so I'm hesitant to flash other ones unless they greatly improve something. Did you flash the the new kernel because of the app slowdown issue you were having? Or just to improve performance in general?
It was to beef up the phone's performance in terms of power consumption but that seemed to work against me.

The rom works like a charm, except for a gimmick: The WiFi is not working. Tried flashing a wifi patch and it worked, but then the camera stopped working. After hours trying to make the camera work, now it does but the wifi does not.
When I try turning the WiFi on it just switches off automatically. Also flashed Devil Kernel, Toooiiko (or something of the sorts) kernel, and they just made the problem worse by fixing the wifi but no camera AND no mobile network of any kind. :rolleyes
Any ideas/suggestions are more than welcome.

Hey Artstar,
I realize you don't like people quoting your entire posts so I thought I'd keep this one brief (not understanding 100% how XDA internals work, I wanted to make sure I got your attention by quoting you at least).
ANYWAYS
I have updated to 4.3 stock (vodafone) which turns out to be ML5 (from memory, phone is not working 100% right now).
Can I please ask (beg, lol) for a link to the bootloader you "flashed" to fix your problem? I've just:
1. updated to 4.3 stock
2. followed instructions on the DN3 V5 ROM install...
Now the first thing I've noticed is my phone won't detect my sim card :-/ So, into my old HTC my sim card goes! I need a phone for the morning, but would ideally like to have a note 2 with working DN3 rom... If you can help at all it would be GREATLY appreciated, as you said; I can't find a bootloader for the GT-N7105T... there are plenty for the other variants, but I really am having trouble finding one for ours.
This is very hopeful that my vodafone model is the same as your tesltra model based on the actual model number, but regardless I've got (and admittedly, I'm guessing a bit here) a dud bootloader installed and would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance mate, any help is much appreciated. I have searched the entire note 2 thread - perhaps my search skills are not up to scratch or perhaps there is no bootloader and I'm not understanding your instructions correctly.
Cheers!

My phone still new 1month ago ..can it be from kernal philiz ?? Thanks for any suggestion
any suggestion or throw my phone from window ......software or hardware problem ?????
Hi Ammar,
I think your problem is in software. If I were you, I install cwm or twrp recovery, do all wipes including system, preload and internal memory, then flash the latest official firmware with Odin. If problem stands still, I do all wipes agaün and install the latest official firmware again. Even if this is does not work then I decide the problem is hardware based.

Well I cant comment on what went wrong.
I was on slim rom once and my vibration Intensity was tooo too low. Because of that was missing calls.
Or you can download an app for checking vibration. Once my proximity sensor and speaker stopped working, i ran a test and everything was back to normal.
Try test you android from the playstore and see if that test works.
Well here is the app
But again as I said, let us know if this is happening on the stock rom.

Once my Wi-Fi stopped working on a Cyanogenmod based rom. I flased stock firmware many times but it didn't work. Then I installed cwm recovery and do all wipes then it worked. As you understand, such wierd things might happen sometimes that we couldn't understand.
i sent my phone to company and told me that vibrate engine is broken and they change it and now work good but what is the problem that caused this i dont know exactly ...as they said either by drop the phone or by water but non of these happend with my new phone
thanks guys for help

fail after OTA even removing root?

hey guys! i just read in other topic some days agop that a user had a fail even when he remove the root using the BMX tutorial! any confirmation on this? what we can do when some other updates arrive? thanks have a nice dayç1
We could try to flash our stock rom from your tutorial then take an ota rather than unroot then take the ota...but now that we have what seems like a functional recovery from our Russian friends it should make things easier and no need for taking an ota

i'm in touch with Russians, there they have Two user how already developed the MiUi ROM to our phone, i'm taking a conversation about this precautions like Updating OTA with root to know how to manage this problem... they use KAZAM SW on their Fly Tornado Slim (Yes, They Use Cross Manufacture SW too, More and More i have sure about our phones are unique Generic Thing with a Simple process called "put a label with the brand" on Gionee's Phones *** Just to be CLEAR! That's what i Thinking, My Opinion... For Sure the Hardware have some little modifications to can be accepted on some markets but all brands use a generic platform from Gionee [if you want to check that.. Check the name of the System application called "System Manager"... Check events names of APK using ES Task Manager(With ROOT on section Startup Manager Clicking on name of this process on list) the name of event process is -> com.gionee.softmanager.xxx.xxx.xxx ] )

i rooted my device using bmx method and then used rashr flash tool in the play store to flash the russians twrp recover
after that i got a little scared because
when i went to wipe it got stuck on formatting cache
then i just rebooted which led to cache and data not mounting
then i tried my backup and on the second try my restore took
so then i gave trying to flash miui another try and everything worked without a hitch this time lol
and im quite pleased with how miui is running, only bug ive seen is lock screen time and status bar time are different.

My last question. Which TWRP do I install? Is there a specific one? What do you recommend? I know you haven't tried yet, I just don't want to screw up. Haha.

... try re-flash the recovery from official TWRP Sources (Use the 2.8.5.0 ... version 2.8.6.0 is unstable) -> LINK
I used 2.8.5.0...downloaded it from the links dvdwx provided in another thread
Are you sure you have root? The unclemobile tool was doing the same thing to me...

[ISSUE][FIXED] Note 3 N900w8 Back Button Only Works With Custom Roms

Hello everyone.
For the past two weeks I have been having this frustrating issue. Since I couldn't find a suitable rom for my canadian note 3, I decided to go back to stock rom but when I flash one through ODIN, back button just doesn't work!
when I went back on flashing custom roms, it works perfectly! what's the problem? I did install the latest official stock rom! :crying:
-----------------
I forgot to mention, the back button works when I use the S-Pen in stock roms. the back button just hates my fingers
There may be a problem of button configuration on the stock room.
Of you have root access then you can change the button layout.
Once compare the button layout of the stock rom with the custom rom.

@shibaa987 the problem is, the area where the back button is is completely unresponsive. When I touch the back button, not even the backlight turns on.

I got your problem. Sometimes back I had the same problem on a Sony Xperia phone. Part of the display was not taking touch input.
Initially i thought the digitizer was corrupted. I also changed my ROM but no luck.
And then I just stick to one rom. Finally after some days it just got solved automatically.
I suggest you to check the stock rom with a custom rom kernel which will work with the stock rom.

can a custom kernel solve the problem?
See... Different roms are built by different developers and you may not know how much buggy they are.
If you have a custom rom where you don't have this issue and the rom is perfect for you then you can chose one accordingly.

YES! it finally works. I never thought a kernel would cause the problem. I put too much trust on the stock rom . Thanks man!
Awesome - what kernel did you flash to fix this? I have the same phone with the same problem (SM-N900W8 with Stock 5.0)

I had the same problem and the same phone after rooting stock lollipop with cf-autoroot. Back button would not work. So I installed custom recovery and Resurrection remix ROM and back button works again and couldn't be happier!
