google earth

Hi
I have a hd2 , when I install the gps2google earth (gps2ge) on my mobile , I always get lat:0 and lng:0 . I donot see the google earth. any help pls?
Not sure what causes the problem; but do you still need GPS2GE nowadays? Google earth for HD2 uses GPS directly, and if you get the newest version, you can create 'starred places' and then share them.
Hi
I can not find a copy of google earth for htc hd2! any help?

Doesn't exist! That's why. Look for google maps instead.
HI
That is bad! hope htc can catch up.
Thanks for you info
Try running QuickGPS first and then Google Maps. You should only have to do this once

It seems you are mixing things up here. It would not be up to HTC to code Google Earth to work with a Windows Mobile Phone. If they did that, I can hear Google's cries of IPR violations. The way I see it, Google would be quite happy to see Google Earth working only on Android phones.

Yes, you are right, moreover, I'm pretty sure that when Stephen Selby wrote Google Earth, he actually meant Google Maps and kenobe would be perfectly happy to use Google Maps instead of waiting for Google Earth! I actually find the way google maps work brilliant! Using cell towers signal to get your approximate location when you can't get a GPS fix is a great feature.

Google Voice Search for Xperia X10

Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone of you know how to get the google voice search for the Xperia X10. I tried to look up in android market or google website, but seems like there isnt any. As checking back to SE website, that google voice search is pre-loaded application for x10, but now it seems like missing to it.

[Q] Google Talk apk

I don't have google talk on my phone and I cannot find it in the market. Any ideas?
this one worked for me for MDJ_Revolution_HD_v._2.2_NAND so it might work for your build
if you cannot find stuffs on market, especially google stuffs, you need to fake your market to other carrier. i'm on wimno now, so cannot remember what is the apps, but you can search on forum on what's the name of the apps to fake your carrier. the first one in the list is tmobile i think, i keep using that to install anything form market.
i think this is it
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/market-enabler-v3-0-8-for-root-users/
@dennis- That worked form me!
@badai Still no Google Talk, I think it is just not there for some reason. Anyway thank you!

Simple performance gain for Xperia SP

Hi all,
Today I have accidentially discovered something that helped my Xperia a little bit.
I started to look into its lag and performance problems after playing for a while with my wife's Motorola Moto G.
By the way, Moto G is a small miracle I'd say.
So I started to investigate for potential source of problems for Xperia. Then... I disabled the "Google search" app (yes, that one on the top of main screen). And the phone works much, much better now !
This is no problem for me as I never used this search bar. But just to confirm, maybe others could also try out if it helps them, too ? It's easily reversible.
Even i did the same thing and it does really help. My phone is as smooth as it should be. Zero lags. And i love the xperia themes

Yeah, I agree, Google search (incl. Google Now) drains a lot of battery even when unused-it runs in the background. Also the Moto G is great, my bro and dad own it, I am thinking of getting it as well. :fingers-crossed:
can you search anything in browser afterwards?

Of course, since it has nothing to do with this app.
I disabled google search directly after I bought the phone. It runs extremely smooth especially with 4.3.
Google Search app is just for the widget, google now and all of the background stuff it brings - which is definitely a reason for slow devices and battery drain.

For me the 'Google now' icon when long tap home change to search button (a magnifier instead google logo), and then open browser in google.com.... I was using dolphin browser, maybe try this?
also, I didn't notice any improvement in perfomance disabling google search.... but I have no Google Play services drain or anything....

Google Search, Gmail, Google+, almost every Google app, except if u want to download and install apps from the Play Store, it's a must to have Google Play Store and Google Play Services installed on ur phone

I've been working on this for a week now. It seems to me that you will have to root your phone if you reaally want google play. I still haven't got it working but there are several dependent apps that you'll need like Google Services Framework and
Google Play services. Some of the dependent apps will need to run as system apps, Well, that's where I am in this puzzle with a sm g5308w.
Let me know if you find the complete answer...
