laudspeaker malfunction - Galaxy Tab 2 General

My tab2 worked well till days ago.
The laudspeaker worked on system sound(such as usb-charging connection alert) while failed to work on movie-playing.
I find headset works well, and mic test no sound.
I have tried two or three roms to resolve the problem, anyway still malfunction for movie playing
Can someone help to resovle it?

So everything else works except movie playing?
Could it be the audio codecin the movie is not supported?
Have you tried MX player?

I was thinking the same... What about other movies? In addition to a different player, may be worth trying some videos in different formats. What about YouTube playback, and music (not movies, but just some MP3s)?

Thanks for reply~
well, many players and many vedios tried.
the laudspeaker is still silent, but when headset mounted, sound can be heard.
The problem didn't appear 2 or 3 days ago.
I also flash different roms, same problem

Oh, sorry - I didn't read your first post carefully... If the headset works, the problem is most definitely not the codec. Frankly, I am at a loss here - your speaker seems to work selectively (system sounds OK, but not the media); I can't think of any reasonable explanation for that. If not for the system sounds, I would think of a bad contact in the headset jack (it disconnects the speaker when the plug is inserted), but it's not the case here...

Hi,
I had the same problem with my tablet GT-P5100 with original software. The solution is to preinstall the OS

[Q] No sound out of video, audio, games, etc.

Hey everyone! I've looked all over for an answer to this and I haven't been able to find one. My second (only one month old) Nexus 10 has no audio. It was working OK but my unit was one of the ones with crappy, crackly audio. I found a fix here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184333 and everything worked fine for about 2 weeks. Now I'm at 0 sound. Nothing out of the speakers, regular headphones and bluetooth headphones. If I click on an mp3, I get a message saying "unable to play track." Video will only play on MXPlayer. The stock player says "unable to play this file" and games will not even come on. As soon as I click one, it makes as if it's going to start but it shuts down immediately and goes back to the apps screen. Any ideas?
Maybe your software is with problems... You can try factoring reset or something like that, I'd recommend you installing a new ROM, as yours is not working. I don't know why, as I said, it's prolly a software (Android) problem. Good luck with your tablet .

Yeah, I'm hoping it's a software issue. But if it isn't, installing a custom ROM will void my warranty I guess I'll flip the coin. Thanks for your input XxLordxX

Xperia z1's walkman have a strange problem with FLAC file

Dear all,
I just got my Z1 2 day ago and found out that the equalizer and sound setting don't work with FLAC file. The mp3 file is working fine.
Did anyone notice this ?
P.S. The walkman is last updated version as well as the OS itself.
Best Regards,
Arm
FLAC are not well digested by the Walkman application I think.
Instead of massive consume of space with FLAC use MP3 in 320kbps, convert them and you are done.

Interesting, I have never had this problem playing my flac files, always been able to equalise the sound, maybe these is an issue with 4.3 that I have not yet experienced.
Yes, I have the same problem with .136, Update and Factory Reset can't help, I've tried everything, after Factory reset it works but only first time when u playing, after that only mp3. Rolled back to .290. There are numerous reports about this problem on different forums, i repeat, this problem only in the last .136 firmware
This problem is ocurring when streaming music in Spotify as well. I'm guessing it affects all players.
EDIT: Apparently it does work in Walkman but not in any other apps...
I don't think it's such a big problem to roll back to .290 FW.

Video problems in kit kat

I have the v500 since christmas and i had no problem until i updated to kit kat. Before that, i watched my videos on bsplayer (its quite easy for using subtitles) or VLC, but now they both dont work well. Bsplayer is like slow, i mean, every 2 seconds the image stops for an instant and then continues, sound works without problem. In VLC it's the sound that stops working once every five minutes more or less, and for a few seconds. Sometimes, it also happens with some games. I alredy tried to restore the device and reinstalling the apps. Also deleting data files and cache of both apps.
Anyone having this problem and a solution??

Although I like BSPlayer and it works fine for me, I should point out that the default video player by LG works very well, reads subtitles just fine, and many codecs.
Did you clear app data or did you try uninstalling the apps and do a fresh install after the upgrade? I don't use either of those apps but i did have a problem after the upgrade with a couple of apps behaving badly until i cleared the app data and one required a reinstall.
doh, can you tell I was watching hockey when i wrote this? It looks like you already tried my suggestions...

I have problem with videos also.
I has started after changing soft to new soft 4.4.2.
While playing video (.mkv or .mp4), in defeault player or in MX Player, every few minutes, the picture is freezing for few seconds (audio is playing normally).
I have tried with different movies, always the same.
Before Android update everything was allright.

The same is happening to me as well. I'm considering following the thread in XDA about downgrading to original 4.2.2, but I'm worried about bricking the G Pad. It's the last option; i have tried with several different players, and after a factory reset to no avail.
It's a mess from LG, I can't understand how this could go under the radar during their testing phase.
Anyone has info about future updates?
this actually happens to me using the stock video player on kit kat. I been using mx player since then with no issues..
Hi,
I have exactly the same issue with videos on 4.4.2 whatever video player I am using. I updated my tablet as soon as I bought it, so I can not compare to 4.2.
I switched to the ART runtime (you need to enable Developer options to do so) a week ago and since then, video playing is smooth again.

Music play stops when opening Gallery.

I have a strange experience music play stopped when opening gallery. Does anybody have this problem.
Pls let me know if u have any fix.
You need to give more details for someone to be able to help you...
like, which player you're using for music?
can you reproduce the problem?
if yes, mention the sequence to reproduce the problem, so that other users can also check...
Btw, I'm using n7player and I tried to open Gallery (Album mode) while the music is playing, but the music didn't stop.
Hope it helps...
I'm running PowerAmp playing 128 kbps MP3's and Gallery, view, scrolling thru pictures with flawless performance..

Same problem but while using Firefox or chrome
Hi,
I have also experienced the problem of the music player stopping all of a sudden but happens while I'm browsing. It persists no matter which player I use. I've tried clearing cache memory of the applications and from the bootloader as well. But has not helped.
What can be the solution for this?
Thanks.

Do you have LOTS of pics in your phone or card memory?
The only reason I can think of, is the ram memory couldn't handle multitasking when its fully utilized.
Our device has 1 GB of ram but the FREE memory is lower than 300 MB most of the time.
You'd look for the apps for its rem memory consumption and remove any unnecessary apps if needed.
BTW, I tested playing an MP3 file with Rocket Player and then opening the gallery app, but there was no glitch whatsoever.
Strangely, while testing Google play music I found that it stops playback as soon as it loses the focus to ANY other app...
Hope it helps.

By any chance, do you soft-reboot your phone. I had the same problem and realised that soft-reboot and the call problem were correlated to each other. I stopped the soft-rebooting, and the problem was solved.

No, soft rebooting is when only the software reboots, whereas hard reboot is that what you normally do, is when the hardware reboots as well, I think.

Since you still have an option for 30 days replacement and the problem highly seems like a hardware problem, you'd act fast to confirm the problem.
If I had this problem, I would have backed my data etc and try factory resetting the device.
Then without installing ANY apps....test the music playback for a while to try reproducing the problem...
You'd also try playing the music from device internal memory, to see if that makes any difference.
If the problem come back even once...I'd definitely ask for a replacement asap.
Btw, I never had this kind of problem, and no other person posted about this issue....so this could well be the hardware problem.
I'll suggest to make your decision fast...

Audio Lag... Anybody else experience this?

I am having about 250ms audio lag on watching any media, be it speakers or headphones, youtube or home server streaming.
I've tried turning on GPU rendering in developer settings, I've looked for alternate audio codecs, wiping the cache and I've tried turning off google now voice listening.
Does anybody else have this problem?
I tried mine and no problems for now but check what kind if players you have installed or software it might be from there ,hard reset .
I noticed this on youtube especially
Let me know if you fixed the problem and how please!
Probably going to need an OTA for that.
Audio lag
I experience the same problem when playing any and all video files. I recorded a video yesterday and that had lag on it too, even when played on a different device. I've emailed ZTE and the address to do it if you feel so inclined is [email protected]
What an annoying problem for an otherwise excellent phone! There are a few other examples of it too so it's not an isolated incident.
A factory reset didn't solve the problem either.
Update: Bluetooth audio is fine...
Same issue here. Sound is delayed about 1/4 of second.
its clearly a software problem since i dont think the USA users have the problem.

It's noticeable on other apps too... Either way wouldn't hurt. I honestly think it's a OS issue since USA have a different version of the OS and they seem okay. ZTE just need to rollout an update fix I think, I've sent them an email about it lets see if they reply. Also the ZTE USA community mod knows about the problem and is trying to get a UK community started!
Bit noticeable on Netflix as well not too sure about this one
I downloaded a movie viewed it on MXPlayer using their hardware decoder and got the sync issue. Switched it to software and wala all was fine! Honestly don't think we need to send phone back or anything they can easily roll out a fix for it
