I was actually working on this MOD today but the code from the S3 is still a little buggy. I will get it fixed up and added to the next version of FreeGS4 (more info on that in the android development section) I might write up a TUT for that exact MOD as well once its done so people on stock can enjoy it too stay tuned

Awesome

Any Devs actively working on a GE 4.3 port

Are there any Sprint Devs actively working on a Google Edition 4.3 port?
I don't want to setup a working folder for Sprint if someone else is already doing it. But it would be easiest for me to start the working folder for Sprint now while I have everything decompiled.

It's not so much that I am interested, just that I have the entire system decompiled already. While digging through finding the lines for VZW I found about a dozen or so lines for Sprint. :good: I just didn't want the Sprint guys to be left without it. :highfive:
I'm probably just going to make the changes for both as I see them and then I'll see where @B-dub25 is at with his projects. If he is ready for those files, I'll upload my working folder to the cloud for him to take from. If he's not ready then I'll just build the system and get some testers that can verify things working for me that I can't verify on my own device.

[REQUEST] Eclipse ROM Port

Got my Galaxy Gear Watch today and couldn't get it working on my AOSP ROM so I moved over to a TW ROM. However, I hate the TW look. It's too big and clunky so I went looking for some TW ROMs and found this one:
http://www.elementalxdesigns.com/ec...-0-(08-27-13)-Touchwiz-stability-AOSP-Styling!!
I would love to see this ROM ported to the Sprint S4!
What do you guys think?
Of course it would just be a lot easier to just get Galaxy Gear working with AOSP, but TW generally is more stable with better battery life.

If I'm not mistaken, can't you flash a Verizon rom with a Sprint kernel and it'll work?

As long as it's TW ROM. I've never tried AOSP.
BTW the way to install is to wipe data and caches the install ROM. Then wipe data once again then absprint kernel.

Clean installed, wiped data, then flashed the Sprint kernel, and got stuck in a boot loop. Tried a couple kernels too. Might try again some time today.

Did you ever get this working??? I've been trying to figure this out also:fingers-crossed:
I'll take a look at this. No promises but it sounds too good to pass up myself. If I make progress I'll post it here.
Not much to say at this point. Its bootable with a little updater.script editing and flashing the ktkernel with aroma and instantly rebooting recovery and flashing an older 4.3 ktkernel. No data as of yet. I guess if I can get a stable data through either network or WiFi I'll make a download for ya. Or just some good links and a tut.

None.. sorry. Very busy atm and have no time..

No Pure Google?

Sorry for the silly question but I've been curious. Any particular reason that we haven't seen any AOSP/AOKP ROMs for our device yet? Is it lack of development or is there something a bit more technical that is preventing that from happening? I usually love to tinker and they offer quite a bit more options. Again, just curious....

Yeah but didn't the Bionic also have a locked bootloader? We were still able to run AOKP through safe strap. Hopefully we can run AOKP the same way on the Note 3. Unless I'm wrong about the Bionic.

This is a complete guess but I'd say it wasn't a full aosp rom. Probably just a rom made to look and work like aokp on the regular kernel

I just want to make sure I understand this. There is currently a thread on T-Mobile Developer forum for CM10.2. While it's not working well now, once it's debugged it should work fine on our DEs, with the stock TM CM10.2 kernel?

correct. i believe you have to change just the apn or use global settings but it can be done no big deal at all. kernels run with no issues. im on tmobile kernel from imo with zero issues at all!

[Q] Nexus 5 KitKat Dialer

One of the things I was looking forward to trying when I got the 4.4.2 update was the KitKat Dialer from Nexus 5. I have used it with custom 4.4 Roms in the past and really liked it. One of the first things I tried when I updated to 4.4.2 was to sideload the .apk. That did not work and just kept FC. I rooted and flasked the .zip, same results. Anyone know of a work around or a way to get this to work?
Try the flashable zip from ParanoidAndroid it's listed on their gapps page as an add on. It works on CarbonRom.

Thanks for the suggestion but that is the zip file I flashed from recovery.
I'm having the same issue (FC when opening Google Dialer after flashing the zip). I'm very interested in a solution to this. Hopefully someone has an idea.
I don't think those will work because they seem to be for AOSP. Use on TW would require some modding.

That's kind of what I figured, but the article referenced the S4 specifically. Don't all S4s have touchwiz?

Yes all do , except for the Google edition. It had TW framework but even using TW apps like the Samsung camera apk took a lot of modding to work.

I guess I'm in the minority but I actually like TW dialer better. . It's prettier & more functional for me. The dialer screen is one of the uglier screens on my Nexus 5, IMHO. I really don't like the blue on black look.
