[Q] Collecting Android games sales data ideas - General Marketing & SEO

Hi, this is my first post on this forum, so hello everybody. :d
I'm currently working on my bachelor thesis titled "Which Android game is most profitable?". I split Android games in two groups, easy to learn and play action or logic games (A-type), and harder to learn managers, tycoons and such (B-type). In the first group, I distinguished Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Where's my Water?, Granny Smith, Fruit Ninja and Ski Safari. In the second, Star Traders Elite, Templar Assault RPG Elite, Cyber Knights Elite, New Star Soccer and Rebuild.
The point of the paper is to compare the sales data (two first months) to see how the popularity and income shaped. The problem is with colecting the acctual data. Contacting with developers succeded with two games, but brought no result with other. I tried to estimate the sales using wayback machine, but the results were very limited. I also tried to use Google Trends to show the popularity, but B-type games were mostly not indexed.
So here's my question to you: do you have any ideas where I could get the achived data of popularity/ income of the games mentioned? Or maybe you developed a game that matches the description and would share the sales data from 2 first months? I'd be very grateful for any help, as the core of my paper is the data I don't seem to be able to get.

PocketPC Game Compo ??? Need your help !

Hi everyone !
I guess the people who know me have seen me around almost exclusively for the games I released, but that's far from being the only thing I do ! I'm also admin of a few dev sites, including http://www.dev-fr.org , a french amateur dev website. We have held a nice compo last year, sponsored by DS-X, which gave as great prizes : a Wii, a Nintendo DS Lite, and other nintendo ds dev stuff...
We're starting to work on this year's compo, and as I've done some PocketPC games, I thought it could be the right time to open up and have a multi-platform "handheld" compo, with like NDS/PSP/PPC... For now, it seems like it would be games only, not sure yet.
Anyways, I posted because I had a few questions regarding what the compo could be/have
1. Would people from here actually participate ? The games don't have to be fantastic (well, participating is always fun, you don't care about winning), and the compo will be held over like 2 or 3 months, so that gives you plenty of time...
2. Would people actually donate for the prizes ? Last year we had a quick chipin widget created, generated a few bucks we used to give out a few extra prizes. Some prizes can be given out that way for like "most original submission" and other surprising games which didn't win
3. Any idea if I could find a PocketPC manufacturer/reseller to sponsor the compo and provide a few very nice prizes ? That would be really awesome, but I have no idea who to contact and how :/ Any tips will be more than welcome
If you have any other ideas, suggestions, or questions... I'll stay around (back to coding I go )

Flash Apps on Android Development Contest - Over $30K in prizes

Hey guys,
Apologies if this isn't an appropriate place to post this. I'm hoping some of you will find this an interesting opportunity. FlashGameLicense (FGL) is running a contest in partnership with Adobe to promote flash game developers to port/adapt their titles to play on Android. I thought I might try to see if Android developers would be interested in exploring the development opportunities available with flash.
Cell Your Flash Game Contest
[Sorry I can't post a direct link yet. If you search for the phrase above you will find it quickly. I do apologize again if this is considered spam.]
This contest is actually focused on flash games that run well within the browser but I think an effective marketing strategy would be building your game in Flash using AIR to create an Android App for sale. Then create a lite version of the same game for in-browser play that up sells to your App and of course is entered in our contest.
I'd love to hear any questions or comments about this strategy and our contest. The way we structured it is to have 150 cash prize winners so almost every quality entry will win something. It's only $100 (there are bigger prizes for the top ones) but the real incentive is getting your feet wet in what we think will be an extremely lucrative market. Buyers on FGL spend $300,000-$400,000 a month sponsoring and licensing flash web games. If you design your mobile game in flash you can sell your app on Android and reach the desktop web game market at the same time.
If you are not interesting in developing with Flash can I ask why? What are the disadvantages compared to traditional tools for Android development?
Thanks for your time!

[Q] How can I further promote my game? Any help is appreciated!

Hello guys,
A week ago we made a game for android and published it on Google Play, followed by some heavy advertising (free) everywhere I could (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, all these kind of sites). It all started good, we got around 40 ratings , 90% are 5 starts. The game got to the top 25 new games at the Arcade section and also in the top 10 Trending Arcade section.
But even though our game is at the top no one seems to see it? I am frustrated that the game can't be that bad , it is simple and yet addictive from what I have been told. It is just no one seems to see it.. we have like 300 downloads but they don't seem to raise anymore.
You can find the link to the game below (or you can search it on Google play, it is called Impossible Path).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MadGoat.ImpossiblePath
I am wondering, is the game so bad or am I advertising wrong??If anyone can help, please tell me what's wrong here and what can I do?
Any advice regarding marketing and promotion is welcome. Thank you.
Hello! I found your game entertaining and I think that it just needs to become more popular. Firstly, you could ask to get a review of your game published in some Review Websites or blogs such as Soldgame.com. Secondly, I would use a cross promotion community, since they can be a really useful tool when your app is growing and often increase the number of installs. If you want some personal advice, I'd go for Tappx.com, since they're pretty clean and just want to help you grow bigger (it's a free platform) After that, I'd go for AdMobs or some monetizing method. Good luck with your app!
