CyanogenMod Nightly Power Off Loop Help - Oppo Find 5

Hi,
I've been following the nightly thread for a while now but I don't have enough posts to post to that thread, so it sent me here.
If I reboot the Oppo and I'm not plugged into power, it goes into a power off loop where as it's booting up, it shows it's powering down and the phone shuts off.
It ONLY fixes itself when I plug into a power source while rebooting, so imagine me walking down the street without this source and the phone reboots.
I have done every nightly for the past week and this has happened since the first one. Would be great if someone could report this problem to the proper developers for me. Thanks!

How about situation with stock rom?

Official Xoom CM10 Nightlies

Hey guys! Official Xoom CM10 Nightlies have been released! I'm not the developer or one in general, I'm just sending out the message.
The latest builds can be found at http://get.cm/?device=wingray&type=nightly.
On a related note though, I've tried both the 9/06 and 9/07 builds and neither were able to boot. I'm just warning you now. If you find a way to get them to boot, please let me know.

just tried the 09/08 build and was unable to boot.
Just wait for steady to make an official thread in the development section. Then we'll know we're good to flash the official nightlies
I ran some of his first experimental builds, things looked promising as always from the CM team. Running CNA in the meantime, but I too am eager to go back to flashing CM nightlies. Did have the occasional reboot on some of the older experimental builds, that's why I'm at CNA for stability.
Fingers crossed, can't wait

Vanir 4.3 Rom nightlies for Ovation

Hey all, Team Vanir just added Ovation to their official nightlies a couple of days ago. I haven't installed it as yet on my HD+ but if it's anything like the one on my N7, it will be great. It's an excellent mix of features from CM and AOKP with Team Vanir's special touches and tweaks.
The first nightly 09/24 has been released, give it a look.
Get it here, just scroll down to the Ovation build: http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/
EDIT: Currently, 09/24, 09/25 and 09/26 builds are not booting, just goes to a black screen. I pm'd one of the lead devs (DHO) and hopefully it will soon be rectified.

Thanks for posting this, actually saw your post on Vanir for nexus 7 as was thinking of upgrading the rom on that, but would have missed the ovation if you hadn't pointed it out, so much appreciated!
EDIT: my only concern before installing is whether trim is enabled or not, as I have a samsung emmc, though it is the 32gb version, I am reluctant to install as the nook was a ebay purchase so no warrenty.

Yeah, I also thought about the trim issue. If it's built from verygreen's device tree, it should be ok but I'm not sure. However, it may be a moot point as I am unable to get either the build from 09/24 or 09/25 to boot flashing with TWRP. It just goes to a black screen and has to be hard reset twice to get into recovery. Also just tried installing with CWM and that also was a no go.
Don't try installing at this time, I'm going to PM one of the lead Vanir devs and see what he has to say.

If anybody wants to visit Team Vanir community on G+ I've posted a link here: https://plus.google.com/communities/111378032131473754160
Since I haven't heard back from the dev yet, I made a post tonight regarding the ovation builds not booting past the bootloader on G+. Maybe if more of us that are interested in this rom respond, we'll get some positive results. I haven't seen anything on G+ mentioning ovation and the dev I pm'ed hasn't been active on his XDA rom thread since 09/24. The build for 09/27 also doesn't boot, so he may not have even seen my pm and the Vanir team may not be aware of this issue with the rom.
Mike T
I am eager as well. Running it on both my Nexus floor and Samsung Galaxy S3. It's an awesome rom. Hopefully it will be fixed for Ovation soon!

I believe it's pretty much autobuilt daily/nightly for all their supported devices, this way all commits in general are current. When a fix specific to our device is implemented, the rom will be up to date and ready to go.
I have heard from the dev, DHO and he is working on it. He said he feels confident that he will get it going. I have been testing each nightly as they come out but I'm hoping that he pm's me again to let me know when it's good to go.
Hang in there, hopefully...soon.

The last nightly I tried was 1004 and it still fails to boot. I see there's a 1006 build from nuclearmistake, haven't tried it yet but I don't think it will boot. Both DHO and nuclearmistake have builds, DHO stopped posting his as of 0930.
Hopefully, that means he has been working on it???

Hope you find something to get this going on Ovation, thanks as always for your efforts.
EDIT: I see that they started a thread in the dev forum. Didn't notice it because it's in Original and I didn't think we'd ever have anything in original for this device. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472029

Which is the most stable and the least buggiest ROM at the moment?

Title
Try @n1kolaa's official CyanogenMod 12.1 it is rock solid stable rom for s3 neo
If you want an AOSP style ROM, pick CM12.1 by @n1kolaa.
If you want a Touchwiz ROM, pick Project Lucky by @Ciro. It's S7 themed and very stable.

So, right now I'm on Motion ROM and the reason I am asking here is because the random reboots can be really annoying. Now then if I want to try Project Lucky I have to flash stock firmware and then flash the ROM or is there the other way around?
No not really just a standard wipe before Flashing. If you didn't do something wrong in between that will be enough. CM is based on AOSP & so is everything else but CM is not AOSP. Only official CM12.1 is stable right now and if you despair on touch wizard alike appearance you can theme it. I know it's not a same but what a hell you can't have it all.

Well, one of the reasons I don't like CM is that every CM ROM has that same thing when I'm at 0 brightness that when I press the power button the screen blinks like its at max for a split second and at night it can be really annoying and it's not adaptive brightness or something else causing it. It only happens on CM.
Yup display settings lags & whole section is buggy but I can live with that.
Tip try to disable kernel panic on everything else & good luck with it.

If I ever decide to give the official CM a try how do I disable the kernel panic thing?
EDIT: Also would like to ask, does the blinking thing happen to you too?
First of all its not a thing but kernel safety mechanizem to ensure system doesn't get stuck by some process not reacting & blocking it so it conveniently calls an interrupt & reboots the system.
Secondly learn to read. I said on everything else & that means all the roms & with all the kernels you are getting robots with. Not with official CM12.1 (& kernel) as their is zero of those there.
Good luck with it goes as the system can freeze totally with kernel panic on opps disabled so you will sometimes have to perform it's duty manually (by pulling out the battery) when it happens. Anyhow disabling the kernel panic mechanizem is not a solution of the problem but more alike workaround.

You do get that I am not a pro when it comes to developing Android systems which means that I am just an ordinary person who knows some basic stuff like flashing a ROM and something more. Also you didn't tell me if the blinking is normal for CM and if it is happenning to you too.
Blinking is not normal, it's CM problem on the ROM side so it's there on all CM's (12.1).

I agree. I tried CM 12.1 and that display flashing whenever I press the power button or home button to turn the display on was annoying. Flashed CM 11 after that and it's going pretty well, and that flashing thing is not happening.

Is there a stable ROM that fixes the random turning off?

Hello. Sorry if I'm posting a topic that's not suitable here or something like that. Please lead me somewhere else if that's the case.
My question is: is there a Nexus 4 ROM that doesn't have the "random turning off" problem that most (?) of N4 phones have? Also, that known sensor problem that turns of the screen too. I'm too scared to open my phone and fix the sensor myself, and I've heard that there were some apps that were "ignoring" the sensor input on the incoming call, but unfortunately they don't work anymore. I like my N4 very much but that random turning off is really annoying because it often turns off over the night and my morning alarm fails because of that. If there's no software/ROM solution for the sensor problem, I can live with that. My Current ROM is 6.0.1. and if you know any rom that can solve my problems, I'd appreciate the help. Thank you.
I am sorry that I currently can only add a negative answer: LineageOs 14.1 (based on Android 7) also turned out to be rather unstable on my device: random black screens of death and cannot accept calls.
Since most ROMs are CM/LineageOS based there's a high chance the problem will occur in majority if not all of them. Safest way to deal with it is to flash pre-CM13 or Stock ROM.

Thank you for your answer. I'm okay with putting some old ROM if it's certain that it will solve my problem(s). Can anyone confirm that there is no sudden turning off on an older ROM?
The most stable ROMs would be stock ROMs. If the phone keeps turning off with all stock ROMs, it's probably a hardware problem. I used the Nexus 4 for about a year and never had this issue. Maybe I didn't have the phone long enough for the problem to develop.

I can say for sure, this problem occured somwhere in the middle of CM13 development. On CM12.1 and Stock rom, I had no such issue. Funny thing, now that I'm using my N4 without a sim card, running LineageOS, the problem magically disappeared.

You could use kitkat roms such as du mako 4.4.4 or cm11 they are stable cm12.1 is also stable Nitrogen OS nougat and du mako 7.1.1 unofficial and liquid dark is also good is pretty stable best nougat roms for mako I've tried pretty much every nougat rom for mako and these 3 are only ones that are stable and fully featured

Thanks OP:good:

i used this thing too. after installing viper OS, i could see the charge speed. and i was still getting no more than 900 mA.
SOLUTION- what I found is that, after changing my usb cable with another stock charger cable of my friend, i started getting 1900 mA steadily. so, the problem was the cable..
hope it helps to someone
