At last! A .253 which contains the Sony Account Manager.
I took advantage of the Xperia Privilege offer and couldn't watch any of the movies I purchased on any of the previous .253 releases.
After flashing this firmware with Flashtool, can I use PC Companion for new updates, for example. 4.2.2? And, will i get my updates whenever the region the FTF is from gets them?

You will receive new updates together with Germany, which is rather late, but still earlier than the United Kingdom

Can I go back to my original firmware? (Locked Bootloader/No Root)
And, is it better to use Flashtool v0.9.10.2 beta6 or beta4 version for flashing?

You can do it by yourself, using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183077
But I saw, that the baseband version is the same as in [nuts] rooted .zip, so I don`t know if it`s really needed to update with this one.

Did you download both parts and put them in the same folder?
Can you check if their file sizes (in bytes) and/or MD5 sums match with the values on the download page?

No, that shouldn't matter. It's strange, because over 100 people have already downloaded these files. I'm currently downloading them myself to check.

First I had a corrupted download with Mozilla Firefox (MD5 did not match).
Then I downloaded again with Internet Explorer, after which the MD5s matched and the FTF extracted fine, both with WinRAR and 7-Zip.
Re-downlodad and extracted on my internal drive, all seems well. Thanks for checking.

I think you'll first have to flash 10.1.A.1.434 Generic DE, root it and then perhaps you can do an OTA update to 10.1.1.A.1.253 (if available) and retain root.

Download both parts to the same directory, then extract them with WinRAR.
Then flash the FTF that was extracted with flashtool.

You only have to extract one of the files. The 2 files are part of the same archive. It had to be split because Dev-Host has a 512MB file size limit. I really shouldn't have to be explaining basic stuff like this on a development site, by the way.
As for your phone not booting, try flashing the ftf again after first checking the MD5 sums of the files you downloaded match those on the download page.

The ftf file is over 750MB. If you get extracted file less than 700, then you should not flash it.
Download and install WinRAR. It will do the job for you to extract and combine this file.

If you open one of the parts and extract it, both parts are processed automatically. Are you aware that this is an old firmware version? If you downgraded without wiping data, it's normal that your phone does not boot. You have to wipe everything if you want to downgrade. The latest version is 10.3.1.A.0.244.

A) Nothing really except defult lang on lang selection at first boot and maybe some added system apps that dont come with the uk (E.G Moxier Pro) but these can be deleted ,I could change the language right? Yep ,Mr. Threepwood. Album, browser, phone... Only positive thing is that I can get notifcations when on Wifi turned screen off
It lagged for me too, but then I reflashed it and did a factory reset and after a couple of hours the lags were gone. Now its as smooth as it has ever been.

I've installed the ES .423 Firmware and I only can activate or deactivate Roaming but with my operator (H3G Italy) when i switch to a different network it doesn't feel it as Roaming, and make me pay a lot for extra data

Sorry to hear that but I'm afraid I can't really help you since I'm on a custom ROM for months now.
Do you get an update message when connection the phone to PC? Maybe you can try downloading the new version using this guide:Download any FW-version and flash it using Flashtool?

geen probleem/no problem,
i only wanted to go back to stock rom, until a hardware problem with the phone is fixed. I just thought i should mention it for other users.

How long could it take for the OTA update to appear?
I have a locked bootloader and the rooted 4.3 ROM. Is there a way to install this ROM and keep root?

Anything from hours to eternity... So far the update is available via PCC or SUS only, nobody knows if there will ever be an OTA.

Can't wait, flashed the update manually
@ponchofiesta Doomlord has already updated his root method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620794 So you can re-root
Well, I unlocked the bootloader now, flashed this ROM and rooted it.
My battery life is now really bad but I think it will normalize over the next days... I hope so.
And: Is it not possible anymore to add lock screen widgets?
Question; is it natural that a generated FTF-file based on a generic NO (Norwegian) unbranded phone differs in size from the one posted by the TS?
Tried to make an FTF myself, but I see know that the file Flashtool generated is ~986MB, so ~30MB smaller than the one posted above.
Is it possible to get the original video/audio/media files from this firmware to download?

Actually these are the stock files from JB, I don't know if handsets delivered with Kitkat would have other demo content (if Sony would ever ship with KK at all)

Sent from my D5503 using xda app-developers app
Download them all into the same folder, unpack the first one with 7-zip - the extraction will automatically extract the contents from all three archive files. Output should be a single .ftf file.
As of today this version is outdated, the new version is 14.3.A.0.757 and can be found here
