There about the same in my area but I heard straight talk will turn your data off sometimes even if you don't go over your data

that is true. It depends how much data you use and how often.

carriers actually compete for lower prices in the uk, not see who can come up with the ****tiest plans
Just left sprint for at&t. You would have to give me a free gs3 to sign another 2 years with them and even then I probably wouldn't do it. Worst. Data network. Ever.

But best data plans. Ever. lol My wife kept going over on her ****ty AT&T plan, so it was actually cheaper for her to cancel and join my Sprint plan. And data speeds are A-ok over here at the wonderful world of Wimax ;D tho can't wait for LTE

Ya unfortunately I didn't get wimax in my city. 3G I was getting .2-.6 mbs. For me unlimited data is worthless at those speeds. I'm on Wi-Fi 90% of the time, but when I'm not somewhere with Wi-Fi I get 10mbs.

Price difference

I have an iPhone 4 at the moment. I just ordered a galaxy nexus, and would like to hook it up to my current line, but I am not sure if I could get 4g on it , without paying more. If I don't, could I still get 3g? Thanks

You shouldnt have to pay more. Who's your carrier?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Which carrier?
Verizon

No they will not charge you more. Unless you used a upgrade and had unlimited data they will now switch you to a shared data plan which might cost you more depending on your data habits. But if you bought it on your own and are just doing a phone swap they will not charge you more.

oppisite
They do the exact oppisite where we live, they charge the crap out of you seeing we are one of the most expensive countries in the world when it comes to cellular everything for that matter

Just talk to customer care and ask them to put this on your line.

No, I highly doubt you will have to pay more. I know that with AT&T they call it an LTE plan even if you don't have access to LTE.

Can't use Internet and talk on the phone at the same time?

I wanted to know if anyone is able to talk on the phone and surf the web via Wi-Fi at the same time because my phone won't let me.
I wanted to know if this was my individual problem or a general issue

Things work fine for me. I can talk and surf simultaneously on H, 3G and wifi

Either at&t or t-mobile

It should be fine if you have a 3G or better connection. But if you only have 2G (e.g. "G" or "E"), then it will only be talk *or* data.

I'm on T-Mobile USA, and I was for sure able to do it while on my 3g, and H but not on Wi-Fi

I can talk and surf at the same time, I'm on Straight Talk/at&t.

Always thought AT&T was the only network that is capable of voice and data at the same time.

Looks like you got fooled by advertising. My buddy can surf and talk on his Evo 4G on Sprint and I can do the same with T-Mobile. I'm sure you can do it on Verizon as well. Bandwidth is just too awesome not to be able to.

So I have this idea...

I was hoping to get some opinions on this idea since T-Mobile's coverage is pretty bad in my neighborhood. I'm thinking of porting my number to Google voice then pointing it to a Skype number and running it all through clear 4g for $50/mo unlimited with unlimited calling on Skype for $3/mo. Thoughts?

Depends on if you want to have a phone when you really need it. VoIP is useless without a high speed connection.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
If you don't have a good cell coverage, nothing will magically give you a reliable service, unless you have WiFi everywhere you go.

Save yourself from the trouble and switch to AT&T. I really think it's a ridiculous idea.

Canadian going on a cruise to Alaska

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask but anyways: I'm going on a cruise to Alaska soon and I'm currently using winds unlimited $40 plan. I was wondering if, since the n4 works with every carrier, is there a better way to go / different carrier so I don't have to pay ridiculous /MB and /min fees? I don't travel much so any help is appreciated.

You're going on a cruise to have a good time. Lay down the phone enjoy it there.

You're not going to have service on the water, only around cities. Does the ship have Wi-Fi?
