article
1: Wallpaper scrolling

3: Home grid size 4*5 & 5*5 available
4: Power Button
5: Available to turn on screen when we get a notification
6: Slide to unlock (sweep2wake)
7: HTC logo is a menu button
8: Icon on folder (from 2nd page to 1st)
9: Icon on dock bar also on app list and not hidden

My personal 10
1.Better picture quality
2.Better camera recording audio quality
3.Better battery life
4.Smooth video recording in low light
5.The ability to change volume with 3 button headsets. Seems HTC have forced the volume control on headsets to be directed to next/previous track
6.Bigger Home/Back buttons
7.Micro SD slot OR releasing the 64gb version at the same time as the 32gb - Will be null & VOID when a small sd card adapter is released
8.Removable battery (If the battery lasted long enough, I wouldn't even care about it being non-removable
9.Can't think of anything else that is a major issue for me

My picture quality is awesome
Battery life :/ Smartphone is now usable for 1 day, 12-15hours. I disconnect all sync and that okay for +24 hours 2300mAh is huge!
Agree with:
Audio Quality, but it's cool, this is a smartphone, not a micro dictaphone
Agree with 3 buttons headsets.
Why bigger hume & back buttons?
Yeah 64Gb for all could be amazing or SD Card yeah
Removable battery also :/ now it's as apple

Picture quality isn't as good as I think it should be. I know its not all about megapixels, but I can see grain in a lot of photo's taken the moment I view them on my PC due to the low pixel count. Battery life definitely. My friends S4 definitely lasts a whole lot longer and so does the S3 I'm currently using. Again a lot of what I'm basing my issues on are things that the "competition" have done better. USB OTG support is good, but there aren't any small adapters on the market at the moment. Waiting for that Kickstarter thumb drive to become available
Video audio quality is better on the S4 (I've seen a good 5 youtube videos showing the One with muffled audio in comparison to the S4, iPhone 5, Lumia 920/928). Bigger buttons only because I have to him them dead on target for them to work, but its not a major issue at all to be honest. And again, why HTC chose to have low frame rates when recording video in low light is beyond me. The One has the brightest, but also the choppiest video out of the S4, iPhone 5 and Lumia 920. If these things had been featured/included, the One would have been literally THE ONE

I'm not sure where you're viewing your videos, but every audio recording comparison I've seen puts the HTC One way on top of every single phone there is now in account for their using of the dual-membrane mic that Nokia is so pissed about.

The first video is a comparison against the Galaxy S3, my video is comparing it against the S4 which is what the HTC ONE is competing against, not a previous model that came out in may 2012. Second video shows the HTC One by itself, and as I've stated before, the One's audio quality is good, but there are better devices out there in that department. The second video clip does not show what it would sound like if recorded from an S4 or a Lumia 928 or an iPhone 5, therefore, one cannot gather that the HTC One has better video audio quality when compared to it's competitors (iPhone 5, S4, Lumia 925/928, Xperia Z). Goodnight

I think you need an Sgs 3 or a Note 2. Can't say any of those things are a problem for me. Aside from smooth low light recording, all those things either don't interest me, don't happen, or aren't an issue.
Camera is the best i've seen and used on a phone, and i've used all of note, Battery life lasts me a day or more depending on useage. Audio is great even at concerts, back and home buttons work fine on custom roms, 32GB still leaves me atm with over 12 gig left and i've got everything i'll ever want on my phone.
Video comparisons are fine when you aren't there to watch and listen, but record anything on an SGS4 and a HTC One, and watch them back natively on the phone, and the One will come out on top. For every bad comparison there is a good one.
As for the OP, most if not all of those things are achievable with either a launcher or a rom.
My ten would be, even though I don't need them,
1. Even louder speakers
2. 16mp ultrapixel camera so I can crop etc
3. ..........erm...........
4. Um..............
5. I give up.

You can make htc a button, cyanogen mod does it, also a couple others.

Do you think dhd has all the features or it missing something

Hi guys
No very soon we will get the DHD
But do you think. DHD has all the features or it missing any features

From what everyone has been able to read and see so far the only thing that would be desirable (no pun intended) would be a HDMI port. For me at least anyway.
I think the lack of a built-in coffee machine is unforgivable. Other than that, it seems OK

It seems to have most of the features of current phones, but there are some things it could do better like the camera, screen, battery life etc. There's no such thing as the perfect device unfortunately.
Front camera, camera button, HDMI, pouch and headphones in the box, bigger battery.
It's not perfect of course, but I think it has everything I want satisfied better than any other phone on the market. And that's what matters, I'm sick of waiting for new phones to come out before upgrading from my featurephone
- HDMI
- 8 (or 16) gb Internal memory
- A (much) better camera... The photos taken by dhd that I've seen on internet are very very poor! They seem that they have been upscaled by software to 8 mpx... blown highlights and so on.... very disappointing
IMO I dont think its laking in anything ...
1.5GB is fine for apps when has anyone had more than 700Mb of apps ? (waits to be flamed )
The shots from the camera look poor but i dont think thats the scensor ... maybe test S/W or drivers as the pictures from the N1/wildfire/Desire's 5MP camera are better.
Only thing it could have is HDMI but with the media streaming im not too fussed :-D
All in all this phone is a beast H/W wise

+1 from me. I've got an HTC Desire just now and so far not seeing enough to persuade me to change to a Desire HD. Also not sure I can face the risk of going through the hassle of the Bluetooth not working with my car gain, which was the case with the Desire until we had the FroYo update.
Auto focus in camcorder ... iPhone doing this since 3gs..
Android fault or HTC I don't know.

Awesome tablet, terrible camera

I've been having fun with this tablet for the past 24 hours (it still still stock...for now), but I went to take a picture and the camera is just terrible. Doesn't seem to have autofocus for what I could find, and no matter what distance I shot it at, the text I was trying to take a picture of just came out blurry.
Hopefully this is something they can update via software otherwise it is just a horrible hardware limitation. Just wanted to share.
Camera is fixed focus. Hardware issue, not fixable with software.
I am using Camera ICS +
Did you read the reviews on this thing? The cameras were constantly being put down by everyone that reviewed it.

its a 250.00 tablet buy a camera if you want something that takes decnet pics.
always some that have to whi ne and moan over anything
I'm totally fine with the camera, let's face it it's a WiFi only tablet there aren't going to be many people who use one of these who aren't also carrying a smartphone.
Samsung had to make some cuts to the thing to get it to the $250 price point, much better they go for low end camera components than omit a GPS sensor or a front camera or a MicroSD card slot (IMO)
Also IMO taking pictures with a tablet always looks kind of goofy, being 7" it's not as silly looking as a 10" tablet would but still.
yeah I am happy enough with the camera for the price. It was literally a borderline decision so any more cost and I probably would have not purchased.
the odd thing though is that the front camera is awful for skype yet seems to record in far better quality. Which confuses me, its worse than the front camera on my xperia play for skype.
maybe a software issue? should try out some other video chat progs with the front camera to see

Jjust traded it from a Xoom JUST REALIZED I HAVE NO FLASH,!!
Taking pictures with a tablet!? Whats this world coming too!
You folk have just convinced me 85% to get this thing in June. I regret on thing though, the 8gb memory, with the possibility of higher specs of the same to show up soon. Ahww!
Btw not all 8 gbs are available for storage. The system uses some of that. The 7 inch tab can take a 32 gbs sdcard though.
Yes, the camera is awful even for a 3.15 MP one, but my guess is that it seems bad because the lack of flash and the fact that you can see every detail and flaw of the photo on the large screen.
Who walks around taking pictures with a tablet?

Actually the front facing camera on the iPhone 4/4S is just as good, if not better than the one on my GS3.
And as far as the rest of the list, what may be advantages for us may not be for someone else.
I am sure people over in the Apple forums have come up with a similar list on why the iPhone 4S is better than the GS3.
These types of threads are juvenile.

I actually think its a very helpful list for a person choosing between the galaxy s3 and the iphone4s, and yes i was thinking about making a list for the iphone4S I would probably get around 15-20 reasons not 52
I have to disagree with louder speakers. My Mrs has the 4s and while my s3 is loud... Much louder than my s2, the 4s overpowers it when both are set to full volume watching same item.
She loves her 4s and I love my s3!! She tried so hard to get me to get a 4s....as you can see that clearly worked I'm android and could not take a step back to ios (my view).

Maybe so.......guess we all have our own preferences. I think the iPhone is great but I'll never get one until apple offers more screen real-estate. Man hands don't like 3.5 inch screens.
I came from HTC Desire.
My reasons for buying the S3 were:
1. Bigger screen
2. Better proc
3. Larger RAM size
4. Better battery life
5. My Desire was broken...I accidentally drop it from 4th floor ...I searched for a new phone even considered waiting iPhone 5 and looking at Nokia Lumia 800...but SGS3 is the best I can find right now ... I have my doubts on iPhone 5 and WP7 is not very attractive
There's no such thing as an RGB sensor. It falsely appears on some specs. It's just an RGB LED indicator. You have millions of RGB sensors in your cameras, nobody needs a single-pixel rgb sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S III has a complement age ambient RGB light sensor. We have contacted Samsung about it and say typical environmental light sensors detect only green light (is the eye human is more sensitive), but do not work too well under fluorescent lighting. The RGB sensor detects all visible light and supposedly makes better adjustments to the brightness of the screen
frankly speaking there isnt a need for reason to get sgs3 , its already a benchmark for apple to beat , also i not so sure why apple fans is showing a ip4 vs sgs3 videos , cant they wait for ip5 or something
No use comparing a iOS device and an android device.
Android is way more flexible and customizable. IPhone doesnt even allows you to use the memory as a usb flash drive out of the box. You need to do quite some tweaks to reach that.
Consider playing an audio/video on iOS other than the formats recognised by itunes - you will get pissed off!!
No s-voice in your list? some people may think it's a gimmick, but it's extremely useful to a lot of people. it's also a reason for people to switch over if they are anal about siri

[VIDEO] HTC One vs Galaxy S4 (in car footage test, front and rear video)

Alright, well here's the conditions to the best that I can remember.
Focus not locked. Didn't see an option for that in the Galaxy S4 menu. Galaxy S4 software based stabilization was not turned on. Anyone want a redo with it on? Hardware stabilization was on for the HTC One.
Also have the Optimus G Pro, Note 2, and iPhone 5 available for tests if requested.
Front facing camera vs rear. Thoughts?
EDIT:
Software stabilization turned on for the GS4. Does anyone know if this actually use pan and zooming to stabilize the image? I'm guessing it does and there is no other way to combat shake.
EDIT:
On my trip to Colorado I added a low light test. I was pretty drowsy. Just woke up from a rest stop nap!
EDIT:
Tried to let the HTC One redeem itself in the audio department. No cases and subject (me) is in front of the camera. No bouncing the sound off of a windshield. It is definitely quiet than the S4, but turn up the volume and let me know what you think.
Seems like the s4 audio sounds better. The HTC one audio sounds echo-ey. As far as the video, they look similar in quality but the viewing angle is wider on the one. I think I prefer the zoomed in on the s4.
Man, I keep going back and forth on these two phones
Sent from my s-off Rezound

The One video seems more color accurate and the OIS really stands out when mounted in a car like this, and obviously has a wider FoV. But the S4 has much better audio recording quality (the One had some weird occasional popping going on too).
As far as front facing cameras, again the One has a wide FoV, but the color seems better on the S4's. Whether or not the One is color accurate on the front facing cam, the S4's just plain looks better.
Here's hoping HTC has a firmware update to address the audio quality coming, because if they fix that then the One takes this victory.

I'd say that is pretty much what I feel.
This is great. thanks for taking the time do do this.
HTC video looks rather cold.

Added a test with software stabilization turned on for the GS4.

Seems like the s4 audio sounds better. The HTC one audio sounds echo-ey. As far as the video, they look similar in quality but the viewing angle is wider on the one. I think I prefer the zoomed in on the s4.
Man, I keep going back and forth on these two phones

If you do a youtube search for HTC One Concert you will find a lot of really great audio recordings by the HTC One. I don't know why it was inferior in the car but I've heard other recordings with the HTC One where the audio sounded great. My own recordings with this phone sound much better than this video.

In the comments on the video he says the holder it's in is blocking the rear mic. That's why the audio is bad on the ONE no way to fix a huge obstruction like a holder no matter how good the mic is.
I've done three tests. Do you think it's just the output levels? Seems pretty strange.
I didn't see any options and everything is being processed in the same fashion.

Actually the holder had a very narrow grip. I was noting that if the audio was directed toward the lens it might sound better. Instead in these tests there is a big ole windshield.
I'll figure something out!
Any suggestions are welcome.

The audio quality of the s4 whilst recording videos continues to suprise me ! Very impressive.

The mic on the HTC one is on the back, right next to the camera. The sound from the HTC One is echo'ed because it is actually being bounced off the windshield.
The mic on the S4 is on the bottom near the charging port I believe.
Great comparison video. The S4 seems much sharper and has better color.
Can you please do one in low-light? (night time driving) Would love it.
Nice FR-S btw. Ignore the riceburner comments, they are kids who don't know jack about cars. The FR-S is a great great car.
superb comparison.. what car are you testing it in btw? looks like the seats of an 86.
EDIT: oh my bad - was originally watching without audio (at work).. just heard you mention you're in the FRS (Scion's version of the 86).. Buddy, that supercharged engine sounds AWESOME.

Thanks. I'm driving to Colorado in my wife's Audi (from Houston). Right before the sun comes up I'll mount the phones.
I also want to do a comparison at some point with a GoPro 3 Black Edition.

And awesome comparison video btw!
The S4 is a great phone with great specs,if only samsung chose better materials and design they would have seduce me
I'd like to see how a Samsung phone made with metal would sell.
EDIT:
On my trip to Colorado I added a low light test. I was pretty drowsy. Just woke up from a rest stop nap!

Using bluetooth to my car radio...

I have a uconnect that is up to sate and worked perfect with my note 3. Ulgraded to the v20 and now it doesnt display any info over bluetooth. No song name or title. How can i get my car radio to display all info when streaming over bluetooth while using pandora or sootify? Thanx
Same problem here in my ram with it stopping the stream then it restarts playing. Also camera compared to the note 7 is a joke.
U would with think it would work better with a newer phone. I hope theres a fix. All i do is stream music in my car

Did you remove the plastic covering the camera lens? I said the same thing until someone told me it was there.

Pretty sure I did. I can feel the indentions in the lens. The pictures get blurry when you zoom in on them and lose detail. Where the note 7 stayed clear and sharp. The pictures look like youre running a smudge filter on them when you zoom in. My 7 year old daughter looks like she's a smoker in her 50s when you take a close look at her. Ill have to go in and look to make sure there isn't a filter running lol.
LMAO they do grow up quick!

I have the same issues in my Ram. I am wondering if it is Uconnect. Also doesn't recognize phone via USB. 2016 updated uconnect as well.
Mine was completely opposite with my BT radio(different company/brand).
My 2012 Mazdaspeed 3 never displayed info with any of my Samsung phones, got my LG V20 and I have data again.
From my research it had to do with Mazda not supporting the BT stack that Samsung used. An update was required but Mazda did not offer it for free
See if this app helps with displaying metadata

I will check that out when I get back to the truck. On travel now so can't try it. Honesty that is the least of my worries with the stuttering and volume issues. At least the Aux works!

The camera is just as good as the Note 7. There are plenty of reviews on youtube to support that. If your opinion is based on looking at the phone only, the over saturated amoled on the Note will look brighter, more vivid but not natural.
I have a 2015 Wrangler w/UConnect. Bluetooth info streams fine with my RBZ430 HU. However, I do get the occasional skip now which I did not before using my S7E. Both have BT 4.2 so it has to be software implementation.
Has everyone updated their Headunit Firmware?
I did update it. No luck. I had no issues with my note 3. Tried the app posted previously and no luck. Very annoying. Wish there was a fix for this

Unless for some reason the screen isn't displaying the picture correctly, the note 7 in my experience was way better. When I take a picture with the v20 with any kind of movement it's blurred, and in low light that really isn't very low, the picture looks very smudge. I took a picture of my daughter In her costume, and to be honest the picture looked pretty bad. Whenever I took pictures with my note 7 in the same circumstances it way out performed the v20.
Maybe you have a bad device. There is a good review on Android central v20 vs pixel

My v20 is also the same. Pics are awful when zooming in. 1st pic is about half zoomed in. Grainy. 2nd about 75%. Just awful. This can't be normal. My note 3 took better pics

Yup same thing here. Very grainy or smudgy.
We can't be the only 2 experiencing this. So disappointed. 1 of the biggest reasons I bought this was the camera. Might be going back to sprint tomorrow and returning it. Also don't like that my car radio does not display info when my note 3 did. Might stick with that for now
I'd say bad device maybe a bad batch. There are plenty of people on here, G+, Android Central forums not having your issues.
V20 paired quickly and works perfect with my 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Both standard Bluetooth and also through Android Auto.
I did have issues in the past with my 2013 Sonata and whatever phone I had back then, I change too often. The Bluetooth metadata didn't display until I updated the radio firmware, which wasn't free, but worth it.

No bluetooth problems here in my 2016 maxima.
Ths only time I dont see any info about playing song etc. Is when I connect automatically without unlocking the phone. Works great and I wish to have quad dac working with BT too =)
