Issues playing cached/local albums in Google Play Music - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I recently upgraded to the newest version of Google Play Music for the All Access feature, but I've found that the app is having trouble playing music that I have on my phone, whether it is cached from the app or added manually.
The first song of an album or playlist will play, but the app displays a "Music playback error : Couldn't play the track you requested" whenever the app tries to move to the next track. This doesn't happen to streaming music strangely, only music I've cached or loaded from my computer.
Is anyone else having this issue? Let me know if you're able to reproduce this or not. I've tried re-installing the app, clearing the cached music and data, all to no avail.
I really want to love this app with its new layout, but not being able to properly play back local music is a huge issue.
BTW my phone is rooted, not sure if that's going to be an issue or not.

[Q] Nexus 4 Play Music

Yesterday I received the kitkat update. I installed it with no problems. The problem I have now is the Play Music app. Songs that used to play no longer play, I get Music playback error, Couldn't play the track you requested. This is happening to alot of my songs. If I go to the file manager, music file and select the song to play and choose Google Play Music, the song will play. But wont play on my playlist or if I try to play from within the app? Any ideas????
I've got the same problem. "Music Playback error" from Google Music app, and "Error playing the track" using MixZing Music Player.
Looks like an OS problem, not a problem with the player.
Solution 1. Go to settings > apps > Google Play Music > Clear cache and data.
Solution 2. Uninstall the Music app. If you cant; use es explorer and delete it from the system folder (root permission is required) make sure you are rooted.. Reboot your device and reinstall from the Playstore.
Solution 3. Try deleting all the songs and re-copy them.

Some of my music is not playing

Just got a new 6P from Google. I have it unlocked and TWRP installed, but no rooted just yet. Loading everything up on the phone, and I've come across an odd issue. I loaded my 1500 or so songs from my Samsung S5 to the 6P, and Google player only sees some of the songs. All the ones I bought from Amazon and some other random ones I'd ripped from our CD collection. Rocket Player sees them all, but won't play any but the ones Google Player plays. Tried some other music apps, but similar results.
I deleted all the songs, put them back in different folders, wiped the cache on Google Play and Rocket, booted the phone. I used ES File Explorer to go to individual albums and try to play the songs direct from there, but still does not work. I get "Couldn't play the track you selected".
Google search said to nuke all the music and go into Apps>Media and clear the storage, but that is not an option under Apps on this phone. Doesn't really seem like that kind of issue anyway, since it will play some of the songs.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
I decided to completely wipe the phone and start over, as this was not the only odd behavior it had. So I wiped it out, even the system files. I used fastboot to reload all the images. I did not re-lock it, and left TWRP on it. First thing I did after setup was load some music and I'm getting the same results. Some songs play, some don't. App permission shows it has access to storage.
Any help?
I finally found a player that would recognize and play all my songs, Poweramp. So I guess the issue is just that MXPlayer and Google Play Music are not fully compatible with MM 6.01.

Stop Google Play Music from deleting cached music

Is there anyway to stop this from happening? Unless you pin music, eventually old music gets deleted even when there's ton of space on the phone.
If you have the actual files just download them to your phone and they will always be there.
Otherwise:
1. There is an option if you go into google play music settings to auto-download music
2. If you go into the music library, click on a playlist and you'll see a download icon in between the album covers and the actual song list

Google music song seek problem

I am not being able to seek through songs eg. start them from the middle etc, in my Google play music app.
ps: I am a subscribed user of the play music app and whenever i try to seek, it just starts the song from the beginning.
There is no problem with the internet since my roommates are using the same wifi and their app works just fine!

Play Music issues

Hi all,
After copying my music files (mp3) to my OP8Pro I can't seem to get them showing in the YT Music or Google Play Music app. Once I opened them from file manager they will show....
With over 1000 songs it's no use opening them one by one to get them showing within the music app. Does anyone have a clue how to get them showing all at once?
I did the same and on Google music they show up automatically and YouTube music it's under local files I think

Click to collapse
Just get the best music player there has ever been on Android.
Poweramp, absolutely no equal. And of course it'll allow library editing amongst other features, definitely worth buying the pro version too, it's a great app..
