Any way to enable sub Symbols on Stock Samsung keyboard - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone found a way to enable sub Symbols on Stock Samsung keyboard for the i9505?

Stock keyboard is really useless... I use Sony Xperia keyboard way better and easier to customize

Smag og behag. I prefer the stock Samsung keyboard so it would be great to have the subsymbols enabled.

I think there's a setting in /system/csc/features.xml to enable them

Root access required of course, and I used Root Explorer to do the following:
In Root Explorer, navigate to the following location:
/system/csc and look for a file called 'others.xml'.
Long-press on this file and select 'Open With', and then select 'Text Editor'.
Scroll all of the way to the end and look for the following:
</FeatureSet>
</SamsungMobileFeauture>
Insert the following code just before the </FeatureSet> code.
Code:
<CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>true</CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>es_US;en_GB;en_US;en_AU;en_CA;en_PH;en_IE;en_NZ;en_ZA;

Then pressing the 'Back' button will automatically save the file and back-up the original in the folder.
Restart your phone.
To revert, simply go back to the file you edited, delete it, then remove the '.bak' from the backed-up file.

[REQUEST] MMS.apk CM9 AND ICSSGS (possible to create paragraphs)

Hello
Is there any developer that can edit the application mms.apk, please?
So it's possible to create paragraphs when you send a message.

Because of the presentation when you send a message... if possible to rom CM9 and ICSSGS.
Thanks.
I wish they would implement this, i might see if the MIUI V4 mms app works within CM9/ICSSGS
It's one of a few things that make me away from ics...
my problem as well.. this sucks..
although if you use apps like whatsapp or viber.. it shows as a return key or next line instead of that darn smiley.
not possible atm. of you change the smiley with an enter or tab key it reacts as a send key so when pressing it sends your msg instead of making a new tab below.

I would like to alert all GingerZaraki users (and any other ROM which has the statusbar bug like mine) NOT to use this mod. You will loose all icons on the statusbar. No, launching Terminal Emulator and Rebooting WON'T work. Just a note.

[Q] Samsung note 3 Keyboard

Can anyone tell me how to get the accents/symbols to appear on the keyboard. If you look at the phonearena review of the IPhone 5s versus Note 3 you'll see they have shown a keyboard with accents/symbols accessible when you long press a letter. My keyboard doesnt show this.
Any help would be great.

One solution is there bur you have to be rooted for that.
Go to /system/csc/others.xml or feature.xml file.
Open this file with root browser text editor and add below lines between <FeatureSet> lines.
<CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>true</CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>de;en_US;en_GB</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>
Save file and set permission to -rw-r--r--.
Reboot done.
Make sure to take backup od this file before edit.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not going to Root until I see if this Efuse thing can be circumvented by the Devs.
Does that mean phone arena rooted there phone? Does everyone's keyboard looks the same as mine as standard?
Yes all keyboards are same as yours.
Check at google play store. Keyboard update is rollout by samsung.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 4
So are the review units sent out to websites etc different to consumer ones? Or has phone arena posted the wrong pictures.
http:// http://www.phonearena.com/image.php?m=Reviews.Images&f=name&id=142157&popup=1
Check out the photos of the note 3 keyboard in there review. Clearly shows the option to long press letters to bring up alternative symbols etc.
Thanks again for the reply
