Are all the android game can play in this shield with the controller, i dont think so. It dont even have the game mapping tool on it so that we can map the controller for all the android games.
Any have any idea how to play all the android games with the controller?

I pre-ordered mine yesterday. Its got potential, hopefully they use it.

There is Hope

I would hope that they would include a app that allows you to do that just like archos did with their gaming device. However i found this app that maps different controllers for you but it requires root:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...elstudios.gamepadenabler&feature=related_apps
However when it comes to your point about the possibility of the controller not working in normal games i think the possibility of it working might be there since as you can see from the video here the controler and the buttons can be used with the navigation of android which might mean you can use it for doing things like turning in ninjump or jumping, and sliding in temple run. Lets be optimistic
Lets hope nvidia has an answer for that since right now they aren't releasing a lot of details on the device lets hope they can help with that.

I've already pre-ordered mine.

I saw an app that can map the game with the controller and it is call game keyboard from play store. But dont know whether it can be use on the shield or not.

No, the free ones I get aren't production units. But so far, nobody has objected to me developing for it, and they all know I intend to.

The shield has a touch screen already so could theoretically run non gamepad apps, it would just be horrifically awkward.
I saw in one of their demo's they navigated the android UI with the gamepad so they might well have included some minor mods to allow the gamepad to control games that are touch only.
There are also alot of games out there on android which already support gamepads so should work fine with the shield controls (and that is something which has been demo'ed by NVidia already).
I am personally very interested in getting the shield. Sadly it hasnt been made available for pre-order in the UK yet. Personally I dont just see "Shield = gameconsole" in my eyes. I see gamepad + screen + pretty open software environment. Lots of fun to be had there. I was already looking into building a robot with a raspberry pi and streaming webcam footage back to an android tablet for control. The shields gamepad would make that even better.

Hope to have mine by 6/31 = D Pre Orderd mine that day it came out. Can't wait to see what XDA can do with it but from the sounds of it might not even need much done. Has clean android on it so lets see!

from what I heard at Android Central it is a package for people who ordered the shield early that has a thank you note and a t-shirt complimentary

Yes, it's a shirt with the (very ugly) SHIELD logo on it (that plain green controller image, looks like it was made in MSPaint) and a little card that says "Thank you".

What do you guys think about the shipping date? I hope it's earlier then end of June...

just ordered mine with the Case.
was going to go thru Nvidia's site via the link in the "early pre-order" email from Nvidia but it was literally $40.52 more than newegg after shipping and tax sooo....
oh man.... now the waiting begins... hope they ship early. :fingers-crossed:

pre-ordered mine the vary first day i could. but then canceled the pre-order a week later and pre-ordered it on newegg instead so i could use a different card.
then i got the shirt in the mail and felt bad

You get to play the whole first star system, but when you get to the part where you have to start jumping star systems it asks you to purchase to continue. I was really getting into it, they let you play for awhile and really get the feel of the game before the shut you down, I think I might buy it.

The fact that Tegra Zone exists and runs is indeed old news. However, the fact that games that you can actually obtain (rather than Coming in April, then Coming in May, then Coming in June for every single frakkin' game in there!) are beginning to populate is new. All I can say is, FINALLY!

Capabilities of this type of device
Got mine its decent. Does anyone know if there will be very much development for this device.
I know they said they would put out some OTA updates and root was a possibility in the future.
This is my first device of this nature and I am clueless to any possibilities it may have. I know I like
to root any device I can and I'm hoping to do the same with this.
I'm just hoping their OTA updates fix the crashing, hell when some apps crash and it asks if you want to report it, the report crashes as well!
I ordered two of these. It is junk. Move along. Laggy and one of my units is broken. Company doesnt care. It is just a rebranded CX-01...
Well the last few comments are not encouraging.. Picking mine up on Thursday...
Anyone had an opportunity to try Plex on it yet? That was the main reason I bought it.

It looks to me like they do care quite a bit. They are answering all kinds of questions on the Kickstarter backer's page and on Facebook. I believe that they are working hard on an OTA update to be released very soon....At least I hope it's soon.
As for the broken one, have you emailed [email protected] with your concerns?

I bought mine for plex as well and no luck so far. It won't connect to my server despite every other android device I have being able to. Commenters on Kickstarter are reporting problems with it as well.
Got Root
I got this device rooted awhile back and downloaded some apps to help with
performance. It runs alot better now. I can't beleive they couldn't fix some of these
issues before it came out. I installed the beta updates they put out and it helped.
It seems like they don't want to give out the info needed for people to do developement
because they are afraid someone will get it up and running better then they can.
I'm just looking forward to running custom roms on this thing.
I've owned one of these, and also a bunch of the dual core sticks.
The Equiso is not worth the price. It is pretty much a cx-01 or c-77.
I found the video performance to be substandard.
I sold it for a loss after a week.
You can get a dual core for cheaper.
Even the original MK802(single core allwinner a10) is better.
If I had to buy a stick right now it would be the dual core MX1.
If I wanted to wait I would pick up the GK802 quad core stick(freescale soc!) or the uHost2 dual core stick.(more usb)
Let the buyer beware though! Check out everything you can before you buy!
Wow, that uhost2 looks really good. Would you happen to know of any good reliable retailers that have the Bluetooth capable one???

Tried on another TV. Works but hängs and bootloops every time I connect to wifi or change video settings
Bought this tv stick at Wallmart
I have purchased this TV stick at Walmart the stock Rom is buggy until you root it and change the CPU governor. I have rooted it and removed the equiso update file from system/app now it doesn't pop up all the time which was kind of annoying. I have done some simple stuff to this TV stick and it works well I agree with the other post though this should of been done before it was released.

Just wish it wasn't $350 for a 1st gen device in a soon to be crowded and lower priced market. I already have a MetaWatch Frame ($200), and would rather wait for Google to release something that I know will be supported for a while then drop the money on something that may or may not be getting new and improved apps a year from now. That being said, the Mirasol screen looks awesome and I like the overall look and features of the watch. For $250 I would have already pre ordered it, $350 is overpriced.

I hear what you're saying about smart watches in general are coming out overpriced but I believe that the Toq is comparable due to the added wireless charger that makes up for the additional cost. That is a feature which none of the others have at this time anyway. And believe me I am not trying to justify their initial high costs because I too think all of the smart watches in general should start at a lower cost margin than what they have started with when they first came out.
This watch is already available for purchase at USD399, anybody here getting it? The deal breaker with this watch is that it has no Ingress Protection (IP) rating. Yes, it is not waterproof. You spend a lot of money into something that is not waterproof, that is so not right.

Lol, I guess I should have mentioned that part. Without a Doubt the Toq is best out of Box. Its companion app has everything I needed (Except Tasker integration) without having to buy and/or wait for 3rd party apps. If the SDK for the Toq is release soon and Dev start cranking out apps, the Toq is a guaranty to be the Top Smartwatch in my opinion.

WOW, you gotta be kidding me? That is very impressive!!! Do you get a lot of email/txt/call notification during the day? Also, do you unpair it at night or keep it paired up 24-7? I know with my MetaWatch once the watch is far away from the phone, my phone keeps searching for it non-stop which drains battery on my Note 2 lol!!! So, every night I unpair my MW and N2.
Also forgot to ask, from the pictures, can you tell if Toq is tinner than SW2 or not? It definitely looks thinner than Pebble.
But can it....
Can it run google maps? I want to be able to wear it while I'm on my motorcylce and glance at it once in a while instead of only having audio telling me how close I am. Thanks and congrats on the new watch!

Interesting specs
MediaTek Quad-core ARM 1.3 GHz
Wi-Fi supports 2x2 MIMO 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
no 4k, which is understandable with the specs. Still 1gig memory and 8 gig storage. It also says optional ethernet. So maybe a dongle to split the mini usb is going to be sold.
yea...quad-core from dual-core is an upgrade but same amount of RAM. Wonder if it's able to handle Kodi fluidly like the AFTV box. Still, "It has the same 8GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM as the original, but makes the jump from Bluetooth 3.0 to 4.1. The device can also decode H.265 video, no doubt future-proofing for future streaming and media support. Finally, 802.11ac WiFi support has been added."
Will buy one to test it's performance...

I prefer an Android TV box, not just an Android box. Having to pull out a keyboard/mouse/touchpad for a lot of the major apps is a pain. The Android TV boxes including the fire tv and stick have dedicated apps that work with the included remote, I own one of these Android boxes running Android 6 and although it does kodi pretty well and connects to a usb hard drive / flash drive playing local media really well, where it lacks is the efficency of thr U.I with apps like hbogo, showtime, bbc iplayer, itv player, etc. Even Netflix is annoying with the Android boxes where you still need a secondary device like a BT or usb type keyboard / touchpad to access seasons of a show. Some of these Android boxes have a small mouse remote where you click the arrows to move around. Way too inefficient. Point is there's something about these fire tv and stick devices and Android TV boxes that integrate apps better than an Android box. I'm keeping my eye on the Xiaomi mi that's coming out for $69 and it's a true Android TV box.

If you have an XBox One S or One X already, then the easiest and cheapest thing to do is to buy a phone clip for the XBox One controller for $10 from Amazon and just pair the controller with your phone. That's what I do and it works great. And its a controller I'm already familiar with. I believe you can do the same with the PS4 controllers, though I'm not sure.
Ps4 controller doesn't work, it's a bug on Samsung's end. I was hoping to use a ps4 controller for Cod to but it something different about the bluetooth in the ps4 controller that Samsung phone aren't familiar with they need to patch it already, I can't find the specific thread saying why this weird bug happens but someone on here gave us an exact answer as to why. So basically if you wanna use a ps4 controller on Samsung you have to be rooted or just use different phone. Sucks bro

Focusing on the wrong point of his post lol. But there is an app called Octopus that gets around lack of controller support anyway since you brought it up.
For the controller, I use this one with my Note 10+. Use it in the third profile (you'll see what I mean when you get it). It fits mine WITH a TPU case on it still. https://amzn.to/2kkhmvH
Everyone always recommends that Wee controller but this one works just as well and actually has some comfortable grips to it.

The point of my post was to link the controller, I just threw in the bit about Octopus existing in reply to the other person who didn't suggest a controller and just responded to say one specific game didn't support it. If you responded just to point out that Octopus is unauthorized, awesome. But then you tacked on the Wee yet again. We get it. Do you have stock in their company? Lol
I'm only coming back to this thread cause you keep quoting me and it notifies me. You're the one patrolling it.

If you search, there's a thread about the dolphin emulator. I replied with my setting for Dolphin which runs very well.

Same here. Use it on my Note 10+ and my Tab S6.
