Lg optimus L5 612 not booting up, once switched on goes directly to CWM - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I am new to andriod devices, once i bought this LG L5 612 device i wanted to unlock it to all networks, so went searching the google and found some =videos which stated that you need to root your device first to unlock your phone for any network, i did root my device, but learnt that you need to do more than that to unlock your device for other networks.
After that i did kdz updater and that was my current state of my phone,
Yesterday i had an information on my phone which stated that , There is a software update available for your phone. I did install that which asked for a restart , and after that restart my device starts flickers a second and goes directly to CWM recovery, I dont know what to do next , i dont seem to have any backups and stuff.
Could anybody who knows how to get me out of this , can you please lend me a hand,
when i connect to the pc the phone is not getting detected at all
Also emergency mode (by pressing both volume keys and power button)is also not coming up
Any help would be much appreciated

You can select from CWM recovery " boot normal" [ for select use power buttom] or can navigate in that menu till you find a command to boot [ volume up/down to navigate].
Tell me if you succeded.

[Q] Bricked lgp700 after flashing cm 11.0

Hello,
I am very new to rooting etc. I rooted my phone a few days ago, unlocked bootloader and tried to flash cm11.0 with rom manager (cwmg) following this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521239
Unfortunately I didn´t understand the instructions well, so after wiping caches, instead of doing a full format I did a user data etc format (which i now think was a factory reset). Tried flashing, didn´t succeed.
Anyway, when I try to switch it on I only get the lg logo and then the batery charging thingy When I try to go to recovery mode with volume up power and menu button, my phone goes on a loop of lg and cyanomod logos untill infinity ( Have to take off the battery). Tried to use heimdall (as i have a mac) to flash kdz back to it, but phone was not recognized. On my pc tried the same, but again phone not seen. I can see it on my computer as an unrecognized external usb but cannot explore. Any ideas on what to do??
thanks in advance

As soon as you plug your USB into your phone, hold down the volume up (+) button and the power button and release them after holding them down for about 2 to 3 seconds. Then, install the USB driver for your phone with the LG Mobile Support Tool. Secondly, download and install the LG PC Suite program and last but not least, download the KDZ program. Install the correct firmware for your phone and make sure you select 'EMERGENCY' from the list on the top right of the KDZ program. Select your downloaded firmware file and start the program. If everything worked out, the program should crash after it's done and your phone should reboot. Disconnect your phone from the computer if it doesn't reboot and try to boot it up again.
You can find all of these programs along with tutorials on how they work by searching on either XDA or Google.
did forcing recovery/download work ?

the phone off usb in and buttons did it work ?
Actually didn´t work,I have drivers already, LG PC Suite program , and KDZ. Problem is my phone is not detected by pc, so kdz unzips and then says : phone not detected, with or without battery...doesn´t go into recovery mode with buttons, just lg and cyanomod logos...
I don`t know if this can b fixed.....How can you flash anything if it´s not detected....
I´ll give it a try again tomorrow, without trying to enter recovery mode....but tried lots of buttons combinations and wasn´t working

Enter PIN/password to decrypt after flashing.

Hi all.
Please help me.
I bought a new LG G2 D802 32 GB.
I made all upadtes then rooted with ioroot25 and applied D802_AutoRec.apk.
I forgot to put new ROM.zip in internal memmory.
I did full wipe (Dalvik, Cache, System, Data) and after that phone was stuck at lg logo.
I managed to flash new rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 used Europe OPEN KitKat D80220D_00.kdz
All went ok but after restart i have "Enter PIN/password to decrypt" and cant`t do anything.
I cant`t even enter recovery/hard reset tryed - "When the LG logo is displayed, let go of the power button, keep pressing the volume down key and then press once more the power button." - I manged to enter recovery earlier
Phone is still rooted.

I had encrypted my other G2 cuz I never used it but wanted to use it so I turned it on

same problem
Hi guys,
I have the same exact problem, restored my rom with LG Flash tool 2014, but now it's always asking me this pin/password. And I tried all combinations with volume up/down and it's impossible to go in recovery, what can I do? My LG G2 is a european model 32 GB
this is the screen I'm always getting
Same Problem Here
Hi,
I'm having the same problem.
I have an LG D802. I was on CloudyG3 with TWRP recovery. While using the phone, I noticed a yellow tinge in the right side of the LCD. So I figured, I'll show it to the service center and get the issue sorted out. Obviously, I couldn't take it there rooted and on a custom ROM as they would annul my warranty otherwise. So I decided to unroot it using the LG tools. (I have done this before too. But I did not face any such problem back then).
This time, it is taking me to the screen and asking me to enter a pin/password to decrypt.
I tried booting into recovery using the old method (volume_down + power and LG logo flashes, release and press power again, then 3 times power) and also tried another method as recommended by someone above (volume_down + power till LG logo appears and then release power and press volume_up). None of them work now. In the first method, the screen just goes blank for a few seconds and the phone reboots while in the second method, the phone boots into safe mode.
Kindly advise on what to do. I am stuck and my warranty expires on the 18th of November.
Problem Solved
Earlier when I was using the Flash.Tool.1.0.54, it wouldn't ask for region and language in the pop-up. It would just open the LG Mobile Support Tool and then I manually selected the Start Upgrade button to flash the phone. The problem with this was that on boot it would ask for pin/password. I couldn't even boot into the stock recovery for some reason.
Then I used the LG Flash tool 2014: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470207
There was a region and language pop up and it proceeded to install the firmware.
But on boot, it still asked for the pin/password. So I tried to boot into recovery and it worked this time! Pressed the power button 3 times and it wiped my phone.
On reboot, the phone worked perfectly without asking for the pin/password. But, now it was reading my internal storage as only 16GB. I followed the directions in the link provided by @Alexxxx to repartition the internal storage in my phone. Here is the link once again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470207
It worked perfectly for me.

Recovery files from other phones?

Haven't seen this before..

Hi guys,
I recently installed Simple ROM (Stock Android 5) for my G2 D802 however, I've found a need to downgrade back to 4.4.2. I went to flash a stock rooted 'H' version of the ROM which i've used before however during the flash, I got the error 'error executing updater binary' during the process.
After searching on google, it seems that I needed a newer version of TWRP (I had to change to a 'bumped' version to install the Simple ROM).
Having flashed 2.8.4 of TWRP, I rebooted the device however I now have the following issues:
- The device boots, shows the LG logo and the LED flashes
- The device never finishes it's boot
- I can not access recovery mode using the key combinations required
- The device doesn't seem to turn 'off'. When I press and hold the power button, the screen goes blank (though, still on) and then shows the LG logo again
I suspect, that because I cannot turn it off, I cannot boot to recovery.
Any thoughts on a quickfix?
EDIT: - It seems that I CAN turn the device off by holding vol UP, DOWN and POWER for a few seconds. I can get into download mode this way..

Make sure you're trying both combinations possible for recovery, PWR + VOL DWN > PWR + VOL DWN method as well as the PWR + VOL DWN > VOL DWN + VOL UP method. You may be on a different recovery then what you think (happened to me once). The fact you can enter download mode is great however, worst case you can always return to stock.

Not going so well.. Installed everything on my Windows machine but it doesn't seek to pick up the device in download mode.
If I select 'Read phone information' on the Flash tool, it stops responding and I end up needing to close it. Also, in the Flash tool, what should I select under 'select type' - it defaults to CDMA..
I can skip the 'read phone info' bug and just hit START which then loads the 'select country and language' view, then the LG Mobile Support which doesnt pick up the device.
help?

Have you installed the LG Drivers? Link
If you have, when your phone is connected open device manager on your PC and see if you can spot your android device, or anything that represents your device.
Everything you need to select is in that thread I Iinked you too.
You dont need to change anything within the tool, keep cdma selected and just make the language english, you can keep the country on korea it doesnt matter.

Yup AFAIK everything is installed. The device was picked up by the machine as it did ask me install more drivers.
The main issue seems to be sat with the LG mobile support tool. It continuously fails due to an error and nothing progresses on the device itself.
The only thing i've noticed is that the bottom of the device screen, shows 'B18' and 'Rooted'. The B# keeps increasing, though?

The B is just your current battery percentage. It will increase as it gathers charge from the USB connectivity, nothing to worry about.
As for why there's no communication between the software and your phone, I can't explain that but it's obviously looking like a driver problem. Try opening the LG Flash Tool log file found in C:\LGMobileUpgrade\log.txt.
Copy and paste the entire log onto pastebin and I'll have a look at it for you.

May I suggest putting your kdz file in the LG Flash Tool folder.
Also does the LG Flash Tool stay at 0% or does it increase before failing? May I also suggest trying this on other Operating Systems if at all possible.

Not that I'm aware of. Have you tried a hard reset?
Take your phone and turn it off.
Wait while your device is shutting down.
Then, press volume down button and power button together until the LG logo appears on the screen.
When the LG logo is displayed, let go of the power button, keep pressing the volume down key and then press once more the power button.
Once you do that, on your LG G2 the factory reset menu will be displayed.
Press power button in order to agree and wait while the hard reset is being completed.

That requires booting into the recovery though right? I can't get to that point. So yes, i've tried that but the LG logo just shows, and does not get to the reset or recovery screens.
The device just sits at the LG logo screen with the LED pulsing and changing colours.

No, you could just do it while the phones turned off.
Instructions to do a Master Reset with Hardware Keys can be found here.
The only other option I can give you is attempting the old manual kdz method found here, sorry .
All fixed - first time.. Issue was down to a crappy Windows machine at the office.. Thanks for your help.

[Q] Secure Boot Error, No Download Mode, No Fastboot, No Regular Boot.

Hello all!
Just a newbie here, but hopefully I don't break any forum rules.
Now, to the problem at hand. I have an LG D802 that cannot be booted normally, cannot be brought into fastboot or download mode.
When trying to power on, I get greeted with "boot verification error / secure boot error".
This happened after trying to flash the "Cloudy G2 3.0" (lollipop version) ROM onto my phone via TWRP. Everything seemed to be in working order until
I had rebooted the device. I think the problem stemmed from the fact that I didn't read that the ROM was only for a different variant of my phone.
I have had a look at one post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 ) but found it too hard to actually follow the instructions,
so now, I am here, writing this post.
Please feel free to ask for any additional information!
Thank you in advanced.

Guy, guy, guy..... It's clearly write in the FAQ section of CloudyG2 3.0 that the rom is ONLY for F320' series, but no, you still want to flash it in D802.. Anyway, do you have access to recovery mode? Key combination might be power key + volume down until LG logo appears, then those keys again or power key + volume down until lg logo, then volum down + volume up.
For download, try a simple thing: Press your power key for ~1 / 1min30, just to be sure it's poweroff, and then try volume up + plug USB cable

Yes... I know. Was very silly in doing so. I have no access to recovery mode using both of those methods you have stated. When trying to get into the download mode for the phone, I get the same error, it will say, secure boot error etc. then the screen will go black, and a bunch of drives pop up on my computer, from [A] - [K], and windows asks me to reformat all of them.
Update: When plugging device into computer, it says QHSUSB_BULK. Hopefully that helps a bit

Dear XDA friends,
i always hoped not to be one of those guys, who f****d up their phones to the point of no return. I really screwed up this time. Well, here I'am writing you about my screw up.
I unlocked, rooted, flashed and repaired all kinds of android phones in the past years, never without problems, but I could always fix it somehow. Not so much this time.
Now I'm stuck at Bootscreen with the Zuk logo. I even have problems pinging the phone via ADB.
Sorry for my noobish question guys. Any help would be much appreciated.

I got this translated from a chinese website:
For fastboot mode:
The phone turned off; keep the connection turned off the data cable to the computer, press: [volume down key] [Power Key] waiting to enter the fastboot mode.
For recovery:
Turn off the device
Press and hold Power key
When vibrates Volume UP key + Volume Down key about 10 seconds
Release all key when Android logo appear then you will see Android System Recovery
Use Volume key to select Menu
Use Power key to Confirm
Can you enter any of these 2 modes?

The bootloop is just showing the ''ZUK logo'' in the middle of screen and "'powered by Android logo'' below, and the phone vibrates everytime it flashes these logos. I tried QFIL but it can only detects the unit on the first boot or first flash that is 2 secs. only from the time i press the power button, and then it disconnects and not detect the unit again. Does anyone know where can i find the scatter file , MTK ROM for zuk z1, i would like to try the SP flasher tool. Or if anyone have any idea how to solve this issue on lenovo zuk z1,pls. help.tnx
Can y get to fastboot ?
im facing the same problem after i had the stupid idea to lock the bootloader again, before that i flashed the phone successfully with the cm mod recovery and cm 13.
Has anyone found a solution to this ? or do i have to send it back ?
What i did exactly :
I locked the bootloader again and just to test it i tried flashing the recovery again , ofcourse it didn't work which was what i wanted.
Afterwards i rebootet the bootloader with sudo fastboot -i 0x2b4c reboot
now im stuck in a bootloop that i cant even stop , in other words i cant turn my phone off nor can i access the recovery or fastboot
Im feeling so stupid that i locked it again .... i will try to get into recovery after my phone ran out of battery but so far it looks quite bad...does anyone know if i will get a replacement even though it was my fault ? ( i don't need to say that it was my fault ..and the bootloader is now locked again )
UPDATE::

Please help , same problem
I am facing same issue too from 2 days. I didnt even try to flash custom roms or play with boot loader or recovery or anything. All of a sudden my phone entered boot loop. After two three bootloops phone is entering "12 apps optimized of 230 apps" mode, completing optimizing all apps and then failing to start apps, entering boot loop again.
Effort made so far to fix -
1) Went to recovery and cleared cache - didnt work
2) Went to recovery and did factory reset - factory reset did happen but boot loop didnt stop, I realized that factory reset happened because now its saying optimizing 120 apps instead of my 230 apps during the bootloop.
3) Went to recovery, Entered fast boot mode but not able to connect to PC. Fastboot devices is not showing anything. I made sure proper driver is installed after researching on XDA.
4) Went to recovery, Tried "Install update". Didnt install anything but browsed through folder structure and realized my data is intact
It will be great if someone can help me atleast recover my data before I handover phone to service center for fixing boot loop issue.
Same problem

The link is not accessible now. Can you let me know what you have done. My phone is in a boot loop now and showing only Logo and 'powered by Android' message. It keeps turning on and off again and again.
Guys when u are in fast boot mode .. pls install Twrp ... After insatlling that press power button abd vibration comes hold volum doen+volume up button at the same time ..
Then u will be getting recovery Twrp mode .. then connect it to pc and u will see internal srorage in pc...now u have to copy any rom to the phone and install it via Twrp ... Thats all
Sorry For Re-posting Here. This is Solution
Why this is happening ?
Due to Dirty Flash from Zui or from COS/CMOD but suddenly Bootloader gets locked
May be Due to Some Custom Rom which only works with Old Bootloader ( And you are on latest 2.5 Zui QPST Flash)
Reasons are many. I also did same mistake. I flashed ZUI 2.5 using QPST then unlock bootloader using official site installed twrp after wiping cache system and data , Installed Lineage 0S JAN Build then without rebooting installed Lineage Nightly build (Latest) with Gapps After rebooting Phone goes into Restart endless loop on ZUK Logo. Blink and Vibrate .. After 1hr I figured it out but its 5am So slept.
HOW TO FIX ENDLESS REBOOT ON ZUK Logo ?
-> Identity vibrate patterns (Press Power Key I count 6- 7 Vibration pattern ) After long Vibrate immediately remove finger from power key.
->Once its Done (Phone completely off)
Download QPST and Official COS QPST from this Link https://goo.gl/InWQji OR https://goo.gl/iqrnlI (I am personally Very Thankful to D tech Terminal for posting Wonderful video on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Dl6JkAVpuM
<- please install all drivers and software.->) @ankurpandeyvns Thanks bro.
Main Task is here and Lots of Patience is required and You also need to be very Blazing fast to achieve this.
-Once you download and install Qpst open Qfil
-Now press Volume Up only and connect USB (Just press POWER KEY only for 1 sec It will vibrate and connect)
-Without waiting hit Download button.
-Voila It will start flashing your phone again and Hence Your phone is now Revive..
-Once Revive You can use it to again flash custom Rom or stick to stock Rom if you want.
Keep Flashing !!!
Patience is Key here. And Don't lose hope.
:good:
EDITED:
While connecting to pc and by pressing Volume key you also need to press Power key for 1 sec or 2 sec until it gets detected. Thanks addicted777 (for tip)
