mirror camera tablet. - Java for Android App Development

Hi, i got a generic android tablet momo8 and the front camera works like a mirror and I need it to work like a laptop does cos im working on a website that reads qr codes and it works fine in laptops but the android tablets wont read it correctly. I was wondering if maybe modifying the camera.apk it could work but i dont know much of java to do so and I need it kinda urgently to present it working to some potential client. If somebody could help ill be more than happy ...if someone know of an app that changes that mirror function it will be even better.
Thanks in avance.

Is it just on your tablet?
If it occurs on all tablets, you will not be able to do that by modifying the camera app as it is different for each device.
If it is a problem just on your tablet, ask in your device specific forum.

Yes its on every tablet with android. There should be a way to disable the mirror effect on the camera.. it cant happen that ipads work fine with it but android didnt think of reading qr with front cameras. There must be an app that changes that behavior of the cam

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but the android camera app does not read QR (or any other) barcodes. You would have to download an app to do that such as ZXing team's Barcode Scanner.

Ive created a web application that can read qr codes, it works on laptops and the idea is to use it by loading the site from tablets, when it loads the application it works well, it opens the camera with no problem, however the front camera by default works in a mirror effect so the application cant load the qr. This doesnt happen when the tablet has a camera in the back but i need to use the front cam. This is why i need the camera with no mirror effect and working just like a latop does

OpenCV and the methods used there need to have the openCV manager to be installed as a separate app (there are workarounds for this) for the libraries.
Bottom line is, you have to create your own camera app for this, disturbing the idea of a mobile site. There are (more or less) easy ways to implement camera, you are not the first one to bump into this problem.

[Q] Front Facing Camera Question

I'm tying to figure out how to use the front camera for taking pictures. I can do the video stuff no problem, just not take pictures. Seems silly the native camera app would not offer this.
From what I read, there should be an option in qik to do this, but from the one I downloaded from the market, I'm not seeing this option. I'm running Frankenstein and have checked through all the various mod paqs and there is no qik app in there that may have this feature enabled. What am I missing?

Inside the camera app... Click the Top left icon on the screen and select Self-Shot.
Is that what you are looking for?
Perfect thanks so much! Guess the internet docs on this not working through the camera app are wrong.

Camera Quality -WP7

Hi guys
I know it is mention that when you take pictures with the flash on, it has a green tint.
But even the normal camera (Without flash) has lots of exposure, is there some camera software or something, to try and enhance the camera quality?
I must say, on WM 6.5, the pictures was outstanding, but there has to be something one can do to try and get the complete camera functionality back?
Thanks!
yes, try this one:

This does not get rid of the tint. Unless there ia some new update to it. I never understood the purpose of this app.
Use foto enhancer

I have the same problem and the only fix that I use is "Foto Enhancer"
is a free aplication and you can downloar from market place. When open the foto tap in the three dots and open "extras" then "photo enhancer" will show up and use it to change the appeareance of your photos.
Yeah, I gotta agree. The camera & this second app take the same pictures with the same green tint?! So the app is useless for me. This is the only "real" problem I have running WP7 on my HD2. Other than that it's pretty flawless, for me.
The tint is driver related.
The Second camera app fixes the issue of auto focus, and it saves your previous settings, so their is plenty of points to use it instead.
I second that...I´m deeply impressed by the usability of WP7 (didn´t think that it will be that smooth ). The one and only thing I´m really disappointed with is the camera. At this moment I can´t say that I´m missing something from Android except for Vignette, which was a very useful camera app that makes me made outstanding photos!
I really hope that there will be an opportunity for devs to get a better driver from somewhere... (but where should this somewhere be? )

I am with you on that one, i was sceptical upgrading to WP7, but i must say, it rocks. I love the automation of the software, contacts integration into Facebook....
Fantastic, the camera tho, is not good at all.
Hope some of the Devs, get a fix for the driver, as the Camera was untouchable on WM 6.5....
Where to get the build?

I wanted to know where to get the best working WP7 build for HD2?
The camera is the only reason I had to go back to WP 6.5 and or Android. My wife always has me taking pics when we go out and uploading to FB lol. The green tint is unacceptable. Can't wait for a fix so i can reinstall 7.

I must say, foto enhancer works quite nicely.
It does not help for the green tint on the flash, but for the rest of the photos, it works wonders.....
All my fotos has over exposure........... that fixes it with the auto enhancer.
Thanks!

Screen Copy ?

Does this device have a way to do a screen copy? The Asus Transformer had it's own built in app to do a screen copy. Am I missing a method to do that on this device? I tried loading the ASUS app. I was able to load it but there was no configuration option in settings to configure it so it didn't work.
There's an app called Shoot Me but I think it needs Root, not sure if there are any others that don't need it though.
Sent from my HTC Desire
Neither ShootMe nor drocap2 worked for me. ScreenshotER seems to work well, you have to pay for the full version though, the demo version has a large watermark on your pictures.

Thanks. Screenshot ER seems to be the best of all of them although it needs root (which I have).
The only thing t hat annoys me is that a utility like this should be "standard" in the HC O/S. The one included with my (former) Asus Transformer was nice and simple. But for a $1.49 I can live with Screenshot ER.

If you are running KitKat, there is the new screen recording built into the OS, accessible through the command
Code:
adb shell screenrecord
or through the android device manager in eclipse.
Otherwise, don't expect good results because if not built into Android, it's kinda hard to record on a high frame rate without slowing everything down
thank you

Do you know if in Kikat there are an API to take screenrecord directly by an application and store the video in a file?
My application isn't fast, so can you tell mee how Can I recorcord on a low frame rate (without android 4.4)?
Thank you

There are some root tolls to do it without Kitkat like this one: http://lifehacker.com/scr-screen-recorder-for-android-captures-high-quality-s-995276159
I'd recommend using the adb method though. If your app isn't fast, improve it.

I did not mean that my application is slow, but it does not need to be fast So do you know any tricks to screencast directly in my application without android 4.4 and without being root?
thank you

There seems to be an app in the play store that can do it: Screencast.
I haven't used it so can't say if it works well, let me know how it does!
Edit: Fail you need root... Better read before everything else xD
Edit2: Found a nice article that could help you here.

I can vouch for screencast - we used it for promo videos a while ago and it does a good job (needs root though)
Thank you but I need to be not root... I think it's is possible to take screen capture (image), so is it possible to add a lot of images (of screen capture) in a video directly by an application?
Thank you

Wait... you want to create an app that offers that kind of functionality to other apps or do you want to capture the main content of your application???
If you want to make an app for this functionality, without root I don't see an option to do that. For your own app, you can try to constantly call getDrawingChache() on your view on top of your view hierarchy and then write that bitmap to a file... But I dougt that will give good results, as it is not working on a surfaceView for instance.

I have already check those but I would trust more if some user from this forum would make test.
After two months of use in running, completely unfinished, like many Chinese products, simplistic Hplus application.
Could be good but would require a very very big firmware update, and a serious and intensive work for developers. Only the price is good but if it doesn't work properly it's not a good thing.
When I use gps and record a run or bike there is no map background?how do I see the recorded track on a map background?
I have one, and the sensors works. But, the app to sync data, is a piece of crap.
Using the hplus+ app on a Xiaomi Mi A1, by locking the screen and trying to unlock with the fingerprint, the smartphone simply reboots. That's in Android 8.0.
It's an app compatibility problem, because when I uninstall it, it returns to normal. Is there any other ap that works right?
Regards.

Yes, they work very well, except temperature, biased with corporal heat, but nothing very important. Main sensors such as GPS, barometer and altimeter work very fine.
