I did the same thing with my og note. I had to tell CS to make sure I was provisioned with visual voicemail for android and once they did that it started working for me.

I think you guys are misunderstanding. When I hit the voicemail icon on the dialer, it dials my voicemail....... I want it to go to my visual voicemail like on the iphone

Do you have the visual voicemail app installed?

Visual voicemail on android is a separate app like we've said...it's not like the iPhone. Holding 1 will still call voicemail as usual, even with the app installed.

Okay i understand. I thought it was all integrated like on the iphone. what a bummer. I'd like to see if there is a way to alter the action of that voicemail button to automatically open the visual voicemail app

best app for visual voicemail on T-Mobile?

Hi.
hear good things about hullomail but wondered if there was another app that works on t mobile that doesn't require the clips to be sent to an email address.
thanks
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I don't think hullo HAS to go to email... I think it's an option to.
You are indeed correct.
Works pretty well but i'm not getting notifications of new voicemails through the app which makes it useless. I need to go into the app and then refresh to see if i have a voicemail.
Had a look on their FAQs / support and can't see that I'm doing anything wrong!
Anyone got the app giving notifications and if so how?!
Thanks
T-Mobile actually made their own App for Visual Voicemail but only in the states.
I wonder if it could be patched to work in the UK?...

[Q] Voicemail Cyanogen

I recently just flashed Cyanogen and was shocked to see no voicemail app installed. I searched around and saw google voice stuff but when I tried to set it up it wouldn't work. Can someone help me please?
I believe there should be a flashable zip or the like with all the google apps.
Sent from my Epic 4g running Nebula Rom
I already flashed Google Apps, and there isn't any voicemail app included in the package.
There isn't an AOSP app for voicemail [besides I guess Google Voice]
Darn, I guess I'll have to pick up my phone from now on.

I believe you can just install sprint voicemail.
Sorry, I'm a noob. I tried searching for the apk in a couple roms, but had no luck. Which rom and where is it?

I suggest Google Voice. It is much better than sprint vvm.
Has anyone ever figured out to get rid of the phantom voicemail notification on cyanogen?

Hit clear under notifications to clear it. Not a permanent solution but it gets rid of it until reboot/tower switch.

Maybe every one doesn't want voice to text why else is it better

There's no voicemail app, because we had this thing back before smartphones, where you called a number, usually your own, and would get to a audio-prompt voicemail system...
I know, archaic, but most of the world still uses it.

Dowload SPC (free from the market) and blacklist 9016. Works like a champ.
I posted a flashable zip for Sprint VVM a while back which works fine on cm6.x. I use GV for my business line and Sprint VVM for my personal line on the same phone.
Sprint's VVM works just fine on CM6 for me-- no "phantom" VM notifications or anything. You do get text messages from 9016, but I configured Super Private Conversations to blacklist it awhile back and since then I've completely forgotten that was ever an issue.
That's so weird... I just had this problem this morning... after a little browsing, I found the APK for sprints visual voicemail. Simply install it from email and there you go! I'm running cm6 and the sprint vvm is working perfectly. I would definitely suggest that!

Flash the attached zip through recovery
(which im just uploading.. no credit for the work).

Weird text from sprint, anyone else get one of these?

Got this sent to me this morning from the number 9016. I'm using the hybrid 00001 prl. Has anyone else got one, or know what it is? I'm still provisioned with the 00001 prl.

Usually means you got a voice mail.
I've been using the same prl for months and I have never gotten that msg, sorry.

PRL isn't causing that. Visual voicemail is not intercepting the texts.
Got that message whenever I was running a rom/theme with the AOSP messaging app (which I like better than the TW one).
Yup, AOSP Mms.apk side-effect.

Google Voice is annoying...

I signed into Google Voice on my phone to check out what it was, then boom...it takes over my phone. I hit do not disturb because I think it'd revert everything back but instead it blocked all incoming phone calls/texts. So, I took Google Voice and signed out of it and now I have call screening (where I have to press 1 to accept calls) and I no longer receive texts...last I did was sign out then uninstall Google Voice. What the hell?
Running stock GRJ90 deodexed/rooted.
To completely disable it you have to sign into Google.com/voice and disable it in the settings

Since I seen that you posted that you always get off topic

Me thinks someone doesn't know how to use a simple and immensely useful app/feature.
By the way, is it considered a bad thing to have Udon ramen noodles for breakfast if you're a broke bachelor?
I can't imagine using android phone without Google Voice.

So how do you stop annoying "press 1 to accept the call" feature, and retain the functionality of transcribed VM's and SMS?

I do like to have the functionality of SMS and transcribed VM's.
Will turning the screening off retain the above?

For some odd reason I won't get any phone calls on my nexus now.
I will start looking through the GV settings...
I would recommend setting everything up on the web. I have my number integrated and don't even have the app installed

Have you tried a voodoo kernel?
On another note, I use GV for voicemail and voip when I want. On the first install it took over my entire phone buy after changing settings online I got it set up the way I wanted.

<3 i think the your problem is that you integrated your number when you install it instead of continuing press skip and then it will ask if you want to sign in with your gmail and follow the steps i had the same problem do not integrate!!1!!ONE!!
I'm finally able to use Google Voice without it taking over my device. After you've removed yourself from the software. You can go to the GV settings via the internet on your computer and just choose activate voice mail instead of choosing to integrate your device. Once this is done, open up GV on your device, and the first window allows you to skip the integration portion and allows you to just use it as Voicemail. BOOM!

I'll try this lol. I've got like 12 voicemails and can't get to them because I don't know my Sprint voicemail PIN. LOL
Question for Sprint customers who are using their Sprint number for their Google Voice account; are your Sprint mobile to mobile or anytime minutes accurate when using Google Voice?
Reason, I have seen complaints on other blogs, pertaining to inaccurate minutes usage and wondered if any of you have experienced this.
Best Regards!

Better Youmail. I do use Google Voice for my home voice mail but it last so many features and options that Better Youmail have. One frustrating part on GV is in Voicemail you cannot select multiple items to del...which at the least a very simple task but not there...

Does it give you an error because of vzw not supporting the set up????
Galaxy Note 3
It does when you initially set it up but just click to make Google voice your vm service and it still works. You do have to actually go on a computer to set up Google voice the first time to activate or turn it on. Sorry it has been a while. But I have used this on my N3 and thunderbolt and it worked well on both.

anybody uses a Visual Voicemail in canada with Android?
Is there an app which automatically calls the provider VM number and download the VM as mp3 or other audio file?
There's an app in the play store called nexus visual voicemail.
It doesn't trigger Verizon recognizing that you have a voice mail app so it will send you a text saying you have a VM

I've been using phone fusion, now called visual voicemail plus, for years and no complaints.
Does the job, and does it well.
