The ROM usage problem... - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

So I heard that the S4 doesn't let you use all of the 16GB internal memory. Can this be overridden with a custom ROM or something?

Have you looked at the custom roms?

Go check out ForceROM in the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 Developer thread.
I would post a video of the ROM however I'm new to the forums and am not allowed lol.
However once you find the video in that thread go to 10:10 in the video and checkout how many apps are installed. It's totally clean.

Also note that the paid version of Quadrant will show a significantly higher result than the free version.

You should go to the "Ideos X5 U8800 Android Development" section here on xda..
yes this phone can be rooted easy with z4root and there are some custom ROMs out already, like the b160. CM6.1 and CM7 has been booted but not everything is working yet, soon i hope

Overclocking can be done with setCPU, but first you need a rooted phone and an overclock kernel, there are some in the Android development section here:

As the multiple forum sticky topics suggest, it's always a good idea to use the search facility to find what you're looking for.
Rooting is easily accomplised using Super One-Click Root.
You'll need to install the Clockwork Recovery Mod in order to install any custom ROMs.
I, and many others, use Stockwell's B160-based Custom ROM, with great results.
Very straightforward, but you do need to make sure you follow absolutely every step of the process precisely, and always triple-read everything before you do it.

theres no official statement concerning android 2.3 support, and thats why the word "theoretically' comes into play..
concerning the "best" support site, i would say HERE..
if not now, it will be sooner or later..
(other than here several sites in china r also playing important parts currently, but given that u do not understand chinese, they will not be very useful to u anyway..)

[Q] Transparent navbar

As the title says...i have one simple question...can we have the semitransparent or transparent navbar for the nexus 4 (JB 4.2.2 JDQ39) stock rom?after a few researches i found this mod for the Galaxy Nexus (JB 4.1.1) not for Nexus 4.So...can someone make it for our beloved Nexus 4?If the admin thinks that this thread is not ok for this forum please delete it.Thanks
From my experience, using the ROM supporting transparent navbar is better than using the mod.

Probably...but I like to be as stock as possible. Custom ROM`s like Paranoid and many other are great...but they have a lot of things that i don`t like or use them.So I rather install separately only the MOD`s that i like/use. Thanks for your reply!

Whoops, didn't see that. But maybe you could ask in that thread (or even contact the dev). There wouldn't have to be too many changes, I think, as this is no kernel/hardware mod, just ROM/firmware.

It's not development unless it's something that you have to share in terms of a ROM download link and preferably a link to something you compiled yourself.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Of course we will see a port. Hugo said they are working with lollipop and trying to incorporate material design into the ROM...I am guess at least 3 months probably closer to 6 months before seeing a miui ROM for the nexus 6

[Q] S6 ROM ported to Snapdragon?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-s6-port-1-0-t3092479
I have found this, S6 apps like dialer and contacts, with all frameworks ported to i9505 which is Snapdragon like our G900F?
Any explanation why there is no port for our phone?

1. You're asking in the wrong section.
2. If you searched for more than 2 seconds you'd figure out that in the same sub forum you posted this in, your question is already answered.
3. Yes we have already ported pretty much all of the S6 apps
Yep a S6 port for our S5 would be ideal .
wrong section to ask dude this is a development section
but you always can find your answer here http://www.S6ROMportedtoSnapdragon.com/

I would like to show you some screenshots of the rom I'm using at the moment!

There is no twtimepicker for our 32-bit g900-f and also there are no contacts and dialer because they need modification on framework.
BUT, S4 I9505 which is Snapdragon platform, has twtimepucker, contacts and dialer, and also s6 framework ported...

The 900F is running a Snapdragon CPU. The S6 is on an Exynos. It's much easier to port from Exynos to Exynos then from one architecture to another.

Installing a new rom and kernel on my J510H Will it interrupt dual sim functionality?

Hey so the question in the title I want to install a custom rom and kernel on my old J510H which has dual sims in it which is really important to me.
My question is can someone recommend me a kernel and rom that won't ruin this function? Is it at all a concern? or am i just paranoid?
Thanks!

Yes i meant j5 2016 forum
That's a right forum
And about odyssey rom
I have tried it on my j515
Nice rom with a full ported features from note 8
Absolutely amazing rom but for me it used a battery a lot and a little unstable (you should check for your self maybe it's much better for you)
Personally my recemndtion is aosp which is light weight and free to choose what you want
But that model i think maybe be the same as a 2015 model and sim 2's data doesn't work(on H models)(still say maybe, this thing was with me from oreo with aosp)
Other things are ok
You know you should look for what is best for you and just try roms one by one
