Download mode flash count? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

When using download mode, does the device displays flash count? Does the jig i used on e4gt work on this device as well?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app

I can confirm that the jig does put the phine in download mod. But since im not rooted I cant confirm it erases the flash count.

Try connecting ur phone when it is in sideload option in twrp to ur pc and see if adb sees ur phone by typing adb devices.

hey, I did pretty much the same thing you did. just take a deep breath. if your phone turns on at all even just the lg bootsplash it can be saved. download these files on your pc http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Sprint+LS980/
and follow these instructions using the files from the link above. don't use the verizion files though! the steps are the same as sprints but the files are not. just make sure you follow every step. this is a last resort option but it will bring it back to life.
At&t or sprint

In twrp go to advanced then click adb sideload. With adb on your computer, copy your rom to the adb folder rename to rom.zip. Then in adb type 'adb sideload rom.zip'. It'll flash your rom for you. If it doesn't work then in twrp reboot recovery, it'll ask you to root. Swipe to yes. And repeat. Viola

It says enforcing sepf_sph-l720_4.3_0010
So you're on MJA or MK2
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Then he probably has knox bootloader.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
I used mudavos method to upgrade to mja without the bootloader. But I ran into problems, so Im trying to check what Ive done. The phone works fine. I went into download mode to check if I tripped the knox counter but I couldn't tell because the letters were too small Im old. This is my wifes phone so Im trying to check this when she is not paying attention. I already lost all of her text messages so shes convinced I broke the phone.
If you dont have the bootloader then only only thing you could do is use odin to either mdc, mdl, or mf9 and start from scratch again. You will lose every data so its the only way to get it properly fixed again.

[Q] Installing 4.4.2 via OTA

Are you on 100% stock MK2 unrooted? If you are on a custom ROM or have a custom recovery with root it will not install the zip as it checks to see if your phone has any modified files.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
The phone isnt rooted and it has the stock recovery, as u said how can i check if there are some modified files?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Did you delete, froze any apps that came with the phone? Did you install hotspot or anything that modified the system?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I havent deleted any app, the hostpot is the original app from sprint
But i still dont know why it wont update
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
If you really want to update to kit kat then just odin mk2 .tar and do a fresh install again and just try the download again.

You won't lose your data. A stock tar install does not erase data unless you do a factory reset.
Ok then i will have to wait for the update.zip from Sammobile firmware
