[Q] 32 GB Version? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

AT&T today announced a 32GB version available 5/10. I bought the Sprint 16GB since my ancient (by phone standards) EVO 4G was rebooting anytime the 3G radio did much work. I'd have gone for the 32GB now knowing how app installs work with Jelly Bean.
Any rumors of Sprint bringing out the 32GB? Tempted to return mine and activate my wife's old Nexus S for a couple of weeks until we're sure a 32GB isn't right around the corner.

other then the Iphone I haven't seen sprint offering multiple storage options in the past.

Sprint has the Galaxy S3 in 32 GB in addition to the 16. At least online. Have for a long time.

Probably not a ton, as I don't think I've seen them in a store. Admittedly, I didn't try very much as I wasn't in the market for myself.
Heck, if they can sell a purple S3, they should offer a 32GB S4 for heavier users.

everyone moving toward online storage which suck. hope the new version on android support app to SD like gingerbread did.

32gb or 64gb at launch?

Has anyone found any evidence that there will actually be a 32gb or 64gb at launch? No one seems to be selling pre-orders for them... I really don't want another 16GB phone.

I have 60GB of music that fills my microsd and I like to take a lot of video with my phone. I thought I'd be fine when I got my One X by putting all my music in google music but it sucks when I have a bad connection/no signal =/
Looking forward to 128GB MicroSDs thoughs

I'll be fine with a 16gb model. I understand people may desire more space, just not necessary for me though. A simple addition of my current 16gb card will be a perfect combo. I don't even have that much space used between my Flyer and it's SD card.
Do not think about 64GB. Cause of biz ( quantity + price ), Samsung will do not sell 64GB version at launch

He does. Unless you're going to help pay for it no one cares about your opinion on how much storage space someone's phone will have.
I will wait for the 64GB model. If one doesn't come to the US I will not get this phone. I will wait for something else.
For me, 16 gb model is enough though I understand that different people may have different needs. My music collection is even bigger than 60 gb but I don't need it all together at the same time in a phone. And I think it is economically more convenient to have several sd cards to swap (it is a Samsung, not an iphone nor a Htc) than to pay the excessive overprice for a 64 gb model.

I guess in a sense a lot of people would love to see a US version come out in a 32gb version. As for a 64gb version? Highly doubtful. Sure 16 gigs is enough for internal. But being able to swap out different cards when need be. Plus do you really need all 60 gigs worth of music on 1 phone? I get the whole variety thing but take what you want and possibly use Google Music if you are at work or on wifi. But I guess everyone wants what they want.

You have to consider not everyone has an unlimited data plan, and not everyone will get reception with the carriers that do. Some carriers throttle after a certain amount as well.
Personally I will load a lot of my daughters movies, and TV shows. A lot of places where I travel are almost bunker like and reception in general is bad inside the buildings. So more space the merrier for myself and my daughter.

So what? This is the problem with Android fans who just want to give negative kneejerk reactions to everything Apple like the sheep they claim Apple fanboys to be. As a consumer I don't care what the circumstances are. I want the product I want. Also I'd at least expect a unified launch of their flagship device, but nope.

Back to the original question... any reference for 32/64Gb models in any country? Thanks.
I reserved my Note 2. Estimated delivery, Friday! During reservation, I told him that I really wanted a 64GB white one, but would settle for 32GB if it came down to it. He said don't count out 64GB just yet, it may be delivered that day.
We'll just have to wait and see. I am in Korea.

Yeah well if they don't have a larger size in Korea then there wont be one anywhere. Everything I've seen from every outlet only lists 16GB. The only solace that the US can take in a late launch is that MAYBE there will be larger versions available by then, but I doubt it. This is upsetting to me. I don't want to have to "settle" for the GS3, but I don't want to wait until March for a 64GB version.

Samsung Galaxy S4 32GB or 64GB??

Does anyone have any ideal of when the 32gb or 64gb version of S4 will go on sell? Anyone who works for At&t know if either will be available to purchase in the at&t store? Seen something that Radio Shack will have the 32gb version for Sale on the 27 April 2013. 16gb is not enough onboard memory for me.
I read today at android central that a Samsung rep said within the next week or two for the 32GB but I don't know how accurate that is, I also don't see a 64GB coming at all to the US.

Rumor from Google I/O coming in May is a revamped Nexus 4 with 32GB and LTE. May hold out for that. Now if a 32gb or G4gb Galaxy S4 come out before then, I might make that move. :highfive:
While a Nexus 4 w/ 32GB and LTE would be nice the lack of microSD doesn't make it any better for me at least.

I would really like to buy an S4 but not in a basic 16Gb form. I want at least 32Gb or preferably 64Gb. With Apps2SD not functional on the newer versions of Android and the internal memory being much faster than an external microSD card the larger memory versions are a must for power users. Maybe I will have to give up on Samsung and go for a 64Gb HTC One which does not have a removable battery or card slot but looks a worthy alternative to an S4 with only the basic memory.

rumors abound on when we will see it, some say the 30th, some say May or June, some say never. If ATT didn't even mention it in the fine print we would just assume no.
Bottom line is if they don't then I have to rethink my whole phone strategy. Perhaps Samsung will offer up a 32GB developer edition soon.
Just get an international version. I scored one for $699

Did u get the 32gb version international and from where? i am also patiently waiting for the 32gb version in india. Dont want to make the same mistake of getting the 16 gb again like i did with the s3. Its just no enough space. One of my friends went to the samsung store to ask they say that the 32gb version will not come to india but i have a feeling they are just saying that to sell the 16gb versions but who knows.

Wow. I've searched high and low for a 32 or 64Gb version. Which size did you get and where was it from bacause there are loads of us who would like to know where to get the larger memory versions.
Why is this so difficult? Many people, like myself, were looking to finally switch from iPhone to the S4. But I won't live with 9Gb available. I just won't. They had a huge opportunity with this launch, and they have completely squandered it.
I did see 1 international (South Korean) version for sale on eBay, however apparently LTE doesn't work on that model in the US. I have seen several listings touting 32GB, but then the details pages reveal that they are all 16+16. Today thee were two new listings for 32GB that don't say 16+16, but I have emailed the sellers for clarification since I find it hard to believe that random people would get them first.
Its a myth .. i have being waiting for samsung to release anything greater then 16gb since s2 times..
S2 -> Tab 7.7 -> S3 all annouced 32 or 64.. but none reach my country.
So do not keep your hopes up for 64gb.. 32gb maybe..

32 GB at AT&T.
Hey everyone !
Just made a petition to make Samsung release the 32gb and the 64gb. I know that on AT&T the 32gb has been released, but not everywhere and the 64GB is still missing. Please sign (at least for helping others) and share the petition link: http://www.change.org/petitions/release-the-samsung-galaxy-s4-with-32-and-64-gb-internal-memory

When I was upgrading and mine to the black 32gb I asked the lady on the phone at AT&T about the white she said she thought it was coming, along with a possible red one, and a possible blue one. She said she couldn't tell for sure as she wasn't able to access the area that had that kind of info in it, but saw some sort or "place holder" for inserting other models. Take it for it it's worth, which is not much.

He said that Samsung has no plans on launching a white 32 gig anytime soon. If there is a big demand for 32 gig they might reconsider.

There has to be a backstory somewhere here as this strategy makes absolutely no sense.
At some point all of the 'newbies' are going to catch on that there 16GB phones really have no more than 8GB internal memory then sales hit a brick wall.
The S4, IMO, is simply useless as a smartphone with internal memory of less than 32GB.
Thanks for passing along the info.

You know, not everyone needs more than the 9 gigs offered. Granted, I'd like to see a bit more running space on the internal side just so I don't have to clean out caches, but 32, at least for me, is overkill. I wouldn't say the S4 is useless as a smartphone @ 9 GBs. That's just going overboard. But that's just my opinion.
Your best bet at something 32GB and other than black will be if and when AT&T carries post release variants, like blue, red, etc. At least AT&T plays really closely to Sammy, so you're already with the best service provider for Samsung stuff.

Also, a very helpful team of AT&T store employees looked high and low (within company inventory and presale documentation) and could find no evidence that AT&T will carry the 32 GB in white.
I'll be interested to see if the Google 16 GB version has sufficiently less bloatware. And/or if the S4 update allowing apps to SD is meeting expectations.

Im not much of a business guru but how would it make a difference business wise to have it vs not? I mean black is a very neutral sex color vs white which seems to appeal to mostly females and yes i know some guys. And it really doesnt seem that hard to add a 32gb white i mean they basically could have the 32GB main board manufacturing line then just take those guts and throw the white body on it. Easy peasy right? So then why dont they have it along side the black one right now? over a month later...

I think you hit the nail on the head with your last question!
Marketing essentially drives the entire product life cycle in any business. That's essentially the basis of our conversation! Post-marketing drives everyone crazy, including personnel in other departments who want to move on to the 'next best thing'! IMO, it makes perfect sense to sell all 32GB variants in all of the colors for exactly the reasons you mentioned.
Sure, I could go ahead & get a 'dirty' black model instead of continuing to holding my breath for the White Frost, but as a consumer I'll play that game a bit longer.

damn, vzw gets white 32gb... oh well ill wait it out for next round of top tier phones.
Samsung and AT&T know that 95 percent of their customers will opt for the 16gb version of the S4. With most customers it's about price and when they are also told they can add memory with a micro sd, they definitely go with the 16gb. The reps don't inform them that apps can only be stored internally and even if they did 95 percent would still get the cheaper of the two options. Samsung won't pay the extra manufacturing costs involved with churning out multiple colors of 32gb versions for AT&T when the demand just isn't there.

[Q] Where can you buy the 32gb version?

Samsung said S5 in 16 or 32gb. I want it only if 32gb plus micro sd card.
Has anyone seen for sale yet that will sell in the UK
Both the 16gb and 32gb models will have the microSD slots. The S5 will be available in 150 countries starting April 11th.
I'm not sure about this but I think Samsung tend to wait a couple of months before they release the higher capacity versions. I think it took a extra couple of months for the 32gb note 2 to come out when I got one there was only a 16gb. But that may have only applied to my region.
Could be samsungs way of hoping you buy their device twice. I reckon it would be wishful thinking on their part. But I don't think I've seen a 32gb device released this year with microSD.
I'll be waiting for the 32gb version too, and will also be getting myself a 128gb microSD when they are released.
So far all the pre orders are for the 16gb. That's just not enough free memory for me in the internal storage. I couldn't move my setup from my Note 3 to the S5

It's got to be available to buy first... It's a mysterious phone model at the moment.
Verizon sells the 16GB in store and only offers the 32GB version online, they claim users don't buy the 32GB version due to the extra $50. I guess those same users prefer less food for the same money, less gas mileage for the same money and lower IQ's.
At least there is an online option. Nothing here in UK yet
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Once theres root (and i can't see that taking a long time) Folder mount will be working with the S5 so all your huge apps/games will be able to be moved to the SD card in their entirety so the 16GB model shouldn't be an issue, although 32GB would be a very welcomed feature.
For me 32GB should be standard, 16GB in this day and age simply isn't enough., especially if you've chosen not to root the device and can't use apps like folder mount.
Root is no good as it voids warranty now there is Knox. Plus certain apps I have detect root and won't run.

Given what Samsung is doing with the country lock restriction it may get harder to buy elsewhere and bring it back to your home country without first activating it.

See I know no one wants to hear this, but this is where Apple is very strong. They sell all models and colors upfront. AT&T doesn't even have the blue GS5 available. Of course if it becomes available later, the blue will not come with 32GB of storage. Its ridiculous.

Well that's kinda questionable with the iPhone 5s launch (it was pretty much black only for a month or two), but at least they had them. No exclusivity crap. I have no love for Samsung and their exclusivity at every possible turn. They play favorites more than any other company. EVERYTHING goes to South Korea many months before everywhere else. I commend them on the global S5 launch, but Snapdragon 800 S4 anyone? Galaxy Round? S4 Black? As one of Samsung's larger markets, we're pretty left out.

Canadian Note 5 thread

since the note 5 has been released and the release date for us Canadians is august 21. so, who's getting one? I'm still on the fence on picking up one, but if I do it's probably going be the 64gb version. Let's begin the discussion on it.:good:
I will for the first time since the note 2 not be getting a new note this year.
Samsung has totally dropped the ball (and thats a huge understatement ) this time around.
Black only and 32gb of storage?
No thanks.

I was looking on the Bell site and I only saw the 32gb ($850). I chat online with a rep and she said they are only carrying the 32gb. At this point I can't see myself getting one

That really sucks, long term 32gb is going be cutting it close. I was hoping we would have a choice between 32gb and 64gb.

The Note 4 is now $200 cheaper at Bell ($230 with tax) - which has me seriously considering whether a Note 4 isn't a better choice for my money.

Yeah, I made that comment at 2am after some wine. Want my finest moment.
I have too much of a sweet cellphone plan to risk a contract. $800 for the note 4 from Bell. Still not a bad deal, all things considering

Absolutely impossible. That must be used space not free. 32gb note5 should have around 22GB available space.
64 GB Note5 has 52GB free space accordingly to one of the xda member who received his phone from At&t.

52 / 2 = 26
Sorry, had to!
Seriously pissed that Canada only gets the 32gb version, and only in black. I have sent protest tweets to Samsung Canada and Telus. Everyone should do the same (Samsung and your carrier).
Choice, what people want. Why does only Apple understand this?
Here's a picture. The phone is a Demo so maybe people has been testing the 4K video recording and taking lots of pictures..
Where did you see this demo

I just found both at a Bell store in Chinook Centre, Calgary. Both had different free storage that I won't even bother posting. Also, don't forget that these are are retail demo units (running demo mode and with a retail disk partion) so you can't take them as gospel.

I want to check them out before deciding whether to reserve or not - could you actually play with phones at the Bell store, or were they not supposed to be on display? (Just want to make sure it's worthwhile to drive out to Chinook).

Yes you could play with both, and the regular edge and Note 4 are next to them, totally worth the drive.
