I would like to take a screenshot, but how ?
The only way for me to take one would be with ADB. None of the screenshot apps work for me yet.

Hi mate,
Did you try what was posted above?? is still valid.
Not Able to take screenshots.
i am not able to take screenshots on official lollipop.

Nothing has change as far as i know , it still should work as explained above......
power + home button should work unless you have issues with your buttons and palm swipe to capture should work as long as you enable it at motions and gestures.......
how did you flash rom? , clear dalvick and cache , clear cache for touchwiz home from the application manager and see if it helps...if not reflash rom again

How has this got to two pages?
Its volume down and power at the same time, home button is not required...never has been on s4

On my note 2 if I wanted to capture a screen shot I simply wiped my hand from left to right
On the s4 this doesn't seem to work How do I do a screen capture can anyone help please

Method 1:
1. Place the palm of your hand on the screen of S4. Make sure the phone is unlocked, because it won’t work on the locked screen.
2. Swipe your hand across the screen in either direction, left or right. You should hear a camera shutter sound along with a notification appearing on screen saying “copied to clipboard”. You can find the screenshot in your photo Gallery.
(make sure the “Palm motion” option is turned on. To on/off this option, go to Settings -> Motions and gestures -> Palm motion)
Method 2:
simply press lock key and home button at the same time. Hold both the buttons at same time till you hear the camera shutter sound.

Method 1 does not work for me. Only Home+Power button combination. Palm motion turned on. I got i9505.

first method is the same for both version try again.

Ok. I tried this Sweeping method from the manual (page 26) and it DOES NOT work for me!!! Can anybody try it? The only thing what work is Home+Power buttons combination. (i9505 AMDC)
If you r too lazy to press those get screenshot it... Wave your phone*ketchik*... Or enable motion option, palm thingy

Palm swipe works, it's just not as sensitive as it was compared to the S3/Note 2. You need to apply a bit more pressure.

This is what they had to mention in the manual ... Swipe screenshot work if i touch the screen. Thx for the clarification.

I prefer double tap is just treated as two separate taps and leaves me in my home screen.
Long press the home button to launch voice search is ideal because I can initiate the press in my pocket as I pull out the phone.
This is one of the main reasons I've run cyanogenmod in the past. But if there is another way to get this functionality somehow through root access that would be ideal in the meantime.

i had this working untill i rebooted phone , not no matter what i try now i cant seem to get it to work at all , home2 shortcut
i set default launch reset touchwiz default ect , no luck , i am however also running apex but no luck

You must turn off S-Voice. By default home double click is reserved for Samsung S-Voice.

Launch S-Voice then press menu/settings scroll down and uncheck S-Voice. Works for me.

thank you SO MUCH ! , i was missing this so badly !
Hope this is in the correct place but here we we go.
If you want to access the service menu on your tab: open contacts app, select settings, hold your finger on the screen just above the small apps remote for five seconds then release, you should get a bar appear saying enter service code, hit this button and a dialler will appear, Enter *#*#7378423#*#* and you are into the service menu.

If you head to unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com and click start unlocking the bootloader there is a link explaining what I have posted in the first paragraph of the instructions . So not my work but useful info to have on the forum I think.

NM It finally did it. I must have pressed on that thing a hundred times.
Ive seen on a few videos that the date briefly appears when viewing photos in the gallery. But i cant seem to get it work on mine. Is there a setting i don't know about?

Yes, open your Gallery then access the settings by hitting the bottom left menu button. Turn Tag Buddy to "On".

If you click the actual setting title after hitting the on button you'll get a list of possible tags, the date shows up automatically even if the others are turned off, but the main switch has to be on.
I upgraded to the s7 edge from a s4, is there a way to change how I close apps from the 3 line button to long holding the home button like on the s4?

I believe there agree paid apps to do this, or xposed would be required, however there is no xposed for nougat yet if you are they latest firmware.

I'm not on nougat yet and if you might be able to tell me what apps I'd greatly appreciate it.
Install xposed then use something like wanam or another I can't remember the name of. They allow you to mod the UI how you like including remapping the soft keys.
