[ROM][DEV] CyanogenMod 9 Beta | Paranandroid v1.5a | 01.06.2013 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi Everyone,
I released my own fully open source ROM,CyanogenMod 9 for Huawei Ideos X5. It's an alpha version,so it isn't ready for daily use.
Issues: (both on CM9 and PA)
- WiFi MAC adress is 00:11:22:33:44
- The UI works bugly. You'll experience.
- USB and WiFi Tether doesn't working. You can use applications from Google Play
- USB Mass Storage is slower than other ROMs.
Note:
Please don't say like "Why did you release before finish it?" or "When will you finish it?". I released it for bugtracking and bug fixing by developers. I stuck on those issues so I released my ROM.

All source available on my github:

Thanks to:
Blefish --- for device source, and helps
dzo --- for the first ICS ROM of U8800
CodeAurora

Thanks a lot! :good:

:silly:downloading. I'll test and give feedback.
edit----
needs a file manager - just to make it easier to install apps like catlog etc
I extracted .zip, added a File manager rezipped and reinstalled
still testing - ROM itself is snappy.
will post logs after more testing
bugs are as stated by DEV

I''ll try it as soon as I can!
Thanks for your efforts

The OP didn't make this thread to get told about this. He made this thread to get help from other developers to fix this ROM.

after some testing I've went back to my daily ROM
so I could send and receive texts and make phone calls
I was able to pair, send and receive pictures via bluetooth (tested with nokia c3) - errors showing on logcat
attached log
looking forward to updates, thanks DEV

Anyways, I have high hopes for this developer. And I hope he doesn't let us down.
Now please cooperate with him and give him some help in fixing the rom.

Thank you very much for tests.
Could you use GPS? I saw it on your logcat.
I won't stop developing this ROM. I'm developing it since February and I'm trying to fix Wifi & BT since March.
This thread is opened for get helps from other developers & get test reports by testers (like meer_mortal).
Thanks for your interest.

GPS couldn't get a fix.
I'll reinstall rom and run some GPS tests and post log

[ROM] Unofficial CyanogenMod 9 [BLECM9 0.02]

Current status: CM10.1 in the works and this version will not be updated.
Got started with the project in January, I'm now ready to present you my first custom ROM (and kernel) - BLECM9!
First of all - BACKUP! This is not stable for everyday use just yet.
It also includes my own kernel, based on the latest CAF source code (ics_chocolate). The kernel gets frequent updates from CAF and me. Kernel version is 3.0.8. It's not as stable in the beginning but a better choice in the long term.
It won't include Google Apps, you need to manually install gapps package, as any other CM rom is by default.
Prequisites
U8800 upgraded to 2.3
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.5.0.4, not tested in v5.0.2.7
Instructions for Installing
Download the latest version of BLECM9 (Downloads below).
Copy the package to your internal/external SD card.
Reboot to recovery.
Flash the update package.
Optional: Install Gapps package (Downloads below).
Reboot and wait. The first boot takes around 2 minutes.
Downloads
My Google Code Page
Google Apps @ goo.im
Additional Notes
Report issues.
Changelog.
No, this won't work on U8800-51 or U8800Pro.
Atmel TS users, 0.02 will not work for you. I am establishing a new driver, to make the driver standard. Please standby as this is my top priority.
Everybody, send me logs if something does not work. This kernel is under heavy development. On computer with ADB set up: "adb shell dmesg > dmesg.log" and send the dmesg.log
Major Bugs
No Atmel TS support.
RIL issues (does not detect all SIMs)
NT35510 seems to have issues when turning on the screen (confirm?)
Unstable backlight on low values.
Wifi MAC address is 00:11:22:33:44:55
No Camera.
No Bluetooth.
No FM radio.
No audio (except ringtone/alarm)
Sometimes glitchy hardware acceleration.
No sensors.
Credits: Huge thanks to dzo - without the proprietary blobs from him, this would've not been possible.

Great! Been waiting for CM9 a long time ago too... Blefish, you should post some rules as to what we should and how to post in this thread, maybe instructions on how to post specific logs and what kind of info you need. The rest of the discussion should be posted in the general section. I would really hate for this thread to become a mess like Aurora's...

Well, Lewa OS is a modified MIUI essentially.
HERE is their site and some images.
NickxxSfk at Rootz had made a port for the Thunderbolt as well, it may be more Verizon ready then this one.
But nice to see more development regardless.

[How To] Fix Wifi Problems in Aurora

Okay, I been using Wifi a lot lately, and as other people.. in Aurora I been facing Wifi getting "stuck" it just grays out.. and there won't be an actual connection... so, I did research and I installed WiFix Manager
Simple Instructions
Download and install application - WiFix Manager
Give root permission
Click Advanced Configurations and enter your country code (instead of US) - Find your code here or here
Click Change Country Code
Click Check For Updates
Click Install WiFix
Restart phone and you are done
I been testing this for 3 days, I left wifi on for hours and even overnight. Before when I wake up in the morning it would always be greyed out.. now it's always nice blue reception! Let me know if this fixes it for you and if it does and we get positive feedback maybe we can convince dzo to implement this fix into his ROM.
FYI, I am using 4.1a, but I don't see why it would not work in later versions.
Wifix
I get way higher speeds in Aurora ICS 5.0 when using this app, it reminds me of the difference when i installed an Elora wifi-fix on an earlier version of Aurora.
My main problem in 5.0 is the touch screen problems, even after dzo's updates.
have you tried to replace the 1 wifi conf file for an older version?
I know that this fixed some wifi issues for many people including me. I can't remember the file name but it can be found in one the aurora thread in this section, I think.
I you want to try I can look further

[DEV] [ROM] [ALPHA1] Unofficial CyanogenMod 7 for Galaxy S Advance

Hi all,
I decided to give the good old CyanogenMod 7 a shot and it finally booted.
As you guys know (or should know already), we are still working to get 2nd stage boot on the GT-I9070
to workaround the fact that this device doesn't have a separated recovery partition.
So the kernel built by CM7 source doesnt work yet (2nd stage issue),
but you can instead use one of the kernels already available (Cocafe's or mine...) and it will boot.
I'm making this available so other developers can help fix the current issues while JB update doesn't come out
We'll certainly need to do this with CM10 code, but I think that getting to know CM7 and locating all proprietary files
may speed up the process with CM10 when (or if) samsung's JB update comes out
here's the first boot logcat: http://paste.ubuntu.com/1470554/
* Not Working *
- WiFi ( error while loading the driver ) --- working on it...
- USB Mass Storage ( usb popup doesnt show up )
- Bluetooth
- RIL ( system settings shows baseband as unknown )
- Camera ( we need to fix proprietary files list - using camera stub )
- Audio ( we need to fix proprietary files list )
- Acelerometer ( if the screen switches to landscape mode you're not able to switch back to portrait mode )

* Installation Instructions *
1 - Download CM 7 zip file: cm-7-20121227-UNOFFICIAL-janice.zip
2 - Download Cocafe's Kernel: here
3 - Put both files on the sdcard
4 - Reboot on TWRP
5 - Wipe Cache and Data
6 - Install CM 7 zip
7 - Install Cocafe's Kernel ( do not forget this step, otherwise your device wont boot and you'll have to flash a kernel using odin -- or a full stock firmware )
8 - Reboot

* Attention *
- First boot takes quite some time and the boot animation is not working yet,
so you might think that your phone is stuck on the device logo.
please wait at least 5 mins for it to boot.
- You can check if your phone is booting using adb logcat

So now let's make this thing work as it should!

wifi is now working via terminal after a few changes
just need some time to check the support within the android ui.

no need to flash another kernel after flashing cm7 anymore,
I just need to fix a few other things for it to work properly and I'll upload it.

Re: [Windows APP][I9070] --| TerminalKernel |-- Flash JB kernels from WINDOWS!
To do this , is it necessary that the phone should be switched on. Coz when I flashed a kernel using phone I get in to a bootloop ( stuckb on splash screen)....so can this help.

Yeah sorry about that, that's a known bug.. uhm... perhaps i should let the user manually reboot his phone.. it's the "adb shell reboot" command that is giving me this issue actually...
Anyway if your phone rebooted you should've flashed it successfully!

Flashed kernel with your application. Just that "Non responding" is little confusing. But you said it will be fixed.
Otherwise all fine.
Q: Where is kernel file pushed? What folder on phone?

Thank you shut_Down that's exactly what i needed a tester for I uploaded another version (0.2.1)... with Non responding you mean that it completely hangs and you have to kill the process? or just that during the flash it hangs? I mean.. do you see the MessageBox that says : "Everything should be fine"?
They are pushed on mtn/sdcard Internel Card... Though if needed i could place it pretty much everywhere..

Not, thats where I put kernels to test. Just wanted to know.
And no, it do not hang. It is just untill flashing is finished. I do see "Everything should be fine", and kernel is flashed. After phone start to reboot app is responding normaly. :good::good::good:
V 0.2.1. is working same, flash went fine. Just it has that Not responding too. It is not problem, just not to pay attention on it.

Ok so i have to create a separate Thread in order to handle the flash without hang... Uuuhm.. then i'll upload another version that puts it in sdcard/TerminalKernel

With this will be - download kernel, open app, select kernel, flash - done.
