Google wallet - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Just tried wallet and I get a message saying not supported. Is there any other way to use NFC to purchase stuff?

But I get this error in setup:

Glad we're on to something here! Looking forward for a fully working GWallet on the S4!

the thread you have is for non-touchwiz roms, so still missing some library files. You might neet to take a look at this thread:

That's the link I posted in the thread asking about getting Google Wallet working, but I don't think this is going to work right out of the box, with those instructors or with the apk from the link in the second post.... I think this is going to take someone like ogdobber or someone else to get this working for the S4, but I've been wrong before! Has anyone messed with ogdobber's fix yet? I'm working on other stuff right now and don't have time to do it today....

They got it fixed on the S3 so hopefully they'll do the same here

Not sure if it helps or if other at&t stores did this, but they installed isis wallet and put 10 bucks on there for me. Not sure how good it is yet, or where all it can be used But it installed with no problems

The problem is when you have rooted device, ISIS won't work.
Get rooted or go home

I thought secure element had something more to do with the actual SIM/Battery (wherever the NFC was located). I know that unless the build.prop has it listed as one of the supported devices it wont work at all but I dont think rooting has a whole lot directly to do with it.

You will find most any paid market app for free. Need I say any more
Edit: I by no means promote piracy. Usually what I will do is get on there, download an app, and try it out. If I like it, I will uninstall and buy from the market (i.e. I did this with Rom Manager, Root Explorer, etc.). If I don't like it, I will just uninstall and not use anymore. This is my way of showing love to the developers who have worked so hard to make my phone better

I also agree. It is out of developers hearts to offer free versions that have nearly all of the functionality of the full version and only ask for donations.
I paid for Rom Manager, because I thought his time and effort was well worth the $5 donation. Then you have some that would rather cut the developer out of the equation.

Still doesn't matter if you do Not everyone will be as nice as you. Cutting the dev completely out of the picture is wrong and shouldn't be done. Anyways the market has a 48 hour return policy on all purchases.

Just don't understand the logic I guess. Since you front the money for the app. You dont like it, you get your money back. Instead of supporting some clowns that have made them free for download. Lol
The market refund policy enables the same protection described.

NETFLIX

I bought this phone today and the sprint Rep said it had Netflix. Is this true and does anyone have the APk or is this Guy a moron?

Go to the market and type in "netflix"
Yeah, I just did that but its telling me my device isn't supported. I just came from an evo shift, would that have anything to do with it?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
No,
Netflix is not available on Market for Nexus S because Google doesn't think that our device can stream it properly.
If you had a device that can do it, it would be available in the Market.
You can search for the apk on the site and try it out yourself.
I have not been able to stream myself.

AND I can vouch because I couldn't pick it up in the market with my phone.
Now, maybe because it is a Canadian phone, I don't know, but I can't find it on Market, nor, when I found the apk and installed it, I can't stream it, just like they said on that site I read.

Netflix app is not available for use in Canada yet. Even if you get the .apk and sideload it, the app will only let you browse the content. Streaming Netflix in Canada is not permitted. Once again, we Canadians get the shaft.

Your order has been cancelled

I had this phone on pre order since around the 25th of June, coming from a Galaxy Nexus to a phone from Samsung which I thought had a good history of not completely ruining their devices, and now hearing the news I have cancelled my order and will wait until this issue is bypassed/fixed. I will stay with my Galaxy Nexus which is completely open.

You do realize that it most likely wasnt samsung's fault considering it was released globally and on all other US carriers unlocked.. So dont blame Samsung.. Blame your carrier.. Yes,the nexus is open but that's because it's a google device. I'm sure if Verizon could have locked that baby up they would have but I'm sure they had an agreement to keep it open if they were going to offer the device.
so you should change that to say because of "Verizons poor decisions"
I'm so confused.

Ι have just uninstalled it.
Well it was impressive, but not for an everyday launcher. It lacks basic features and functionality in comparison with Nova i.e.
I think that it makes our phone to sort of lose its originality and "feeling", I don't know how else to put it. Anyway I'm not really that into facebook so I may be missing some of the stuff that Fb Home has to give.
Thanks to the OP in any case
