I can give everything you need for further research to find a root option for this phone. Thanks in advance to everyone who help.

Hey guys, i found a way to root Galaxy Express I8730. Here is the method:
1. Download the file at the bottom of this post.
2. On your phone, go to Settings -> Developer Options and make sure USB debugging is checked.
3. Extract the file from step 1 You should have couple of files there Find the one that says run.bat and right click and choose Run as administrator
4. You'll see a cmd window. Then a text appears in it and when you see "Press any key to continue..." hit enter.
5. When everything is ready, a message will tell you to press any key again, hit enter and your phone will reboot. Congratulations, you are now rooted.

Nice thank you very much

Hi, just to be clear: we install motochopper to the root directory of the external SD card, then after making sure USB debugging is enabled, extract the file from Recovery?
Or do we do Steps 3-5 from a PC connected to the phone?

You do the exploit from a PC. Make sure USB debugging is ON and that ADB detects your phone before proceeding.
P.S. You don't install motochopper. It's ready to be executed right out of the ZIP file.

THank you .....

IT WORKS PERFECTLY ON GT-I8730 Galaxy Express :laugh:

Anyone some information if the i8730 will be included in the xda forum? Currently there are no other ROMs available concerning this smartphone :/

Heads Up Info for Express 8730!
Hey, source codes is available... Just for a heads up for interested devs!
I had browse the web and found that the source codes for i8730 for various models of i8730. These are all available on Samsung open code release center (OSRC) at opensource(dot)samsung(dot)com. They are as follows:
Classification Model Version Source Code
Mobile Phone GT-I8730 GT-I8730_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730T AMD2 GT-I8730T_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730_HK GT-I8730_HK_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730_LA GT-I8730_LATIN_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730_SEA GT-I8730_SEA_JB_Opensource.zip
Me am not developer but a user and owner of this model! As a user, there are just much restrictions from stock OS such as carriers limitations, limited features, and all official roms available are according to respective countries carrier and lack of lots of great tweaks and apps. Although root is available, but its limited as few tweaks that I can play with like V6 Supercharger, link2sd etc. That's why I'm always looking forward to customs! They are great! I know that why me nv grab hold of one that can be customized is due to of course simple, cost restriction. This is jus a great, budgeted, with potential (underclocked), fast, 4G device available in market.
Pls just look a little in this device DEVs, and if customized eg, roms, kernels, I believe that other models with the same chipset and GPU can benefit as well! Models like the new Mega 6.3 and also unreleased S4 Mini! They are all using the same Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400!!!
Yeah! Go mid-range devices!!! :victory:

Did you extract the zip file first before opening run.bat? Windows should detect adb.

It's not meant to be an apk that you install onto the phone.
(1) Download the file onto your PC and unzip it.
(2) Enable USB Debugging mode on your phone.
(3) Connect the phone to your PC.
(4) Click on the "SuperOneClick" file in the unzipped folder.
(5) Click on the "Root" button.
(6) Wait until it says that root is successful.
(7) Unplug your phone from the PC and manually reboot it.
(8) Your phone is unrooted!
thanks, I will get a laptop from my work this evening and try.
So (yes I am a noob) should I downloading this file on the phone or on the computer??

You should be downloading it to a PC and running it from there.
Oh, I forgot to add that you need to reboot your phone manually before it is detected to be rooted.

[Q] Flashed to 7.8 - whats next?

Hi!
First of all - thanks for everyones hard work and contribution to the windows phone platform! I havent tried unlocking my device before but figured it was no point in waiting for samsung anymore. And if the device gets bricked - it would be a good reason to buy a W8 device
Anyway. I flashed the "WP7.8_7.10.8858.13 6_NT_18L_V1_by_ansar" and everything seems to work fantastic!
So. What to do now? I would like to try and sideload apps and all that..But Im not sure where to look or what kind of xap-installer to use or anyting. If homebrew works or... Also, it would be cool to test the Nokia apps - I understand it is possible to change the "device name" with a registry editor app?
I would be thrilled if someone could point me in the best direction to be able to discover and.....re-imagine
Peace out!
Search Google/the forums man!
I'll point you in the right direction though.
Google "Bazaar" which is a homebrew app marketplace. On XDA if you see a .XAP (WP7 app) attachment you can "Click for QR code" then if you go to Bing search on your phone, click vision and point it at your computer screen, the app will download to your phone thanks to the custom ROM you've installed.
Registry editors etc are available on Bazaar.
Some Nokia apps are available in the WP7 Development & Hacking - Apps & Games section of XDA.

Do i understan correctly the rom is deliberately locked and that I need root tools to unlock?
Tried to install apps from bazaar - but it claims my device isnt fully unlocked. Do I need to start with bazaar for PC to be able to install root tools and then give permission to bazaar? Because I installed root tools - but it also demands unlocking.
Sry for my noobieness :|

See if there is a program installed called Root Manager. This is basically the permissions app, go into it and toggle Bazaar and any other apps you install to allow them to have root access, which they need.

Btw, whats next after that?
Sry. But this is like christmas !

Does this "WP7.8_7.10.8858" indicate the build version ?
Any help is higly appreciated.

Not sure I understand you correctly..Do you mean a required version to be able to flash from? You need to flash the MAGLDR so I dont think it will matter wich version you have, pre-flash.

I really don't know what we can do with the ffu yet. I can get the phone into the qualcomm msm mode and install the winusb driver, but a hardware developer will need to create an application to interface to it, or someone leak an app that does that from the OEMs. I would like to see whats in it though, I might be able to search for strings relating to the hidden Tier3 app.

Not yet. Nokia hasn't updated their Access Point app yet to support the 928. It will install, but the internet and mms settings are still fixed on Verizon. I also noticed that there isn't a lib version number underneath it either, but there is one for the app version and database version; it won't be too long before it will change though.

The repository isn't locked out, it is though for Navifirm. It works for Nokia Data Package Manager 2012.18.0 and Nokia Care Suite Phone Support Tools for Store 5.0 - 2013.20.5.3. It just needs this:
usergroupsconfiguration.cfg stored in Nokia Care Suite for Store 5.0
Code:
<configuration>
<user_groups default="CareSuite External">
<user_group
name="CareSuite External"
nol="https://www.caresuite.nokia.com/caresuite/get_params.do?application_id=2"
posti="https://www.caresuite.nokia.com/caresuite/CareSuite"
authentication_needed="0"/>
<user_group
name="Care Pro"
nol="https://www.care.update.nokia.com/caresuite/get_params.do?application_id=2"
posti="https://www.care.update.nokia.com/caresuite/CareSuite"
authentication_needed="1"/>
</user_groups>
</configuration>
I got them from http://www.winphoneviet.com/forum/index.php?threads/38088/
They are links to the files on the Nokia server. The ffu is 4.01 gigs.
I also finally used ffutool from the dev forum on this rom. I'm trying to find a place to upload the VHD file compiled. There are some carrier specific xaps in there.
Awesome, thanks for the help. What exactly is the change you've seen in it?

Same as "stock" rom. Mounted the update .ffu and double checked
and same registry settings on both. If you flashed the update the .ffu should still be in your ProgramData\Nokia\Packages folder.

[GUIDE] ROOT Gionee Elife E7 (16/32 GB)

Hi friends,
This is a tutorial for rooting your Gionee Elife E7.
THIS WORKED ON MY INDIAN GIONEE E7 32 GB MODEL. I CANNOT GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU.
All you have to do is.
1) Go to: www.shuame.com
2) Download latest Shuame PC client.
Or
Google "ShuameSetup_2.0.2"
Install it, It's in Chinese,
choose your pref. Install location,
Tick the license agreement box (If unticked)
hit the BLUE BUTTON!
3) Now download the attached file from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49775640&postcount=39
And don't forget to thank him!
4) Extract the "shuame_EN.exe" from it in the Shauame application directory
(Place where you installed Shuame).
It will ask Administrator permission to write to system directory, grant it.
5) Now launch the "shuame_EN.exe"
6) Enable 'USB debugging' in your phone.
7) Plug your phone into PC.
Now wait for a while till Windows installs the drivers, grant Administrative permissions when required.
When it's all done, it will install Shuame app to your phone and open it up, it's in Chinese, ignore it.
8) Once you see your phone's specs listed on screen, with your screen at left, Click on the "Root" button at TOP
(It has an Android with a Patch on it's right eye)
9) On your phone you might receive warnings from Google, tick the box and give it permission.
(May or may not happen)
10) Once done you will get a prompt on the screen confirming your root!
It installs an app called "Kinguser". Its similar to SuperSu or Super User, You can off course remove it using Ti Back and install your fav. root manager. But I would suggest sticking with it as it works just fine.
!!ENJOY!!
Credits go out to those who made this app and the person who translated it motuslechat

Sorry I do not have access to Indian Stock rom.
I believe you have to flash the rom's zip from recovery after wiping the user data and cache.
Ok.. So Any custom recovery is available ?

you have uninstalled some system app. re install stock ROM with flash tool and then try to update. though i would like to point out that the update is almost useless. it contains some extra theme and Fahrenheit temp unit only

Root LG G3 Oct 2016 !! Simplest !! NO PC needed (All ver supported) [tested on D855]

Root Method: via Kingroot App
Prerequisites :
1. Phone must be reset .
2. USB Debugging enabled [ follow to enable USB debugging.... Go into settings >> General >> About Phone >>Software Info >> {tap on Build number 8 times untill Developer Options gets enabled}
Now go into Settings >> General >>Developer Options >> {enable USB debugging} ]
3. Not any kind of screen lock should be present. [so app can exploit with system to root]
4. Internet connectivity is a must.
Here's the real trick ....
1. Download KR4.96_unzip_it_to_get_apk_file.zip apk and install it. (file is attatched in thread)
2. if message appear saying "unsafe to install app" just ignore it and force install apk
3. Open apk ... it will analyse the device for 1 min then a button will appear to root LG G3
4. click on that button to root ...
5. Wait for 5 mins .. till 100% appears ... your phone is rooted now.
6. Hit Thanks button if root successful. :highfive: and dont forget to mention your device along with ROM installed
7. if it gets unsuccessful plz mention your device model along with the ROM installed ... :silly:

hehe you are really clever
what he is trying to say is you are trying to hog credit for a copy-paste job,
The guys who originally worked on it spent time and energy and all credit must go to them.
I suppose that is why you don't know that it doesn't work on all versions with some significant exclusions.
So may be you should let the people who actually put in the hard work to get the credit or may be for a change put in some hard work yourself.
Doesn't works on V30c-724-05 (august patch security)
Delete this thread, op is a joke and taking credit for a guide a hardworking person laid out already.

Thats not funny @manuhackzzz
It is the method and process which was already existing and you resposted without crediting the original devs.
First time, I let you go with a simple caution.
Please refrain from doing this again.
@RapHaeL_4_4_4_ Thanks a lot mate, for carrying forward the Android DEV spirit
