SHOCKING NEWS!!! Google Glass ripped off from dead inventor! - Glass General

Hugo Gernsback (August 16, 1884 – August 19, 1967) created a bone conduction hearing aid in 1923 and TV spectacles in 1963.
How many more ideas will Google steal from this man?
What next Google Hypnobioscope? (an app to teach us in our sleep?)
Anyway, I still want Google Glass.

This is a joke, right?

No ****, Sherlock.

Better Google steal the ideas than Apple xD

did you think bone conduction technology was brand new or something? It's was never labeled to be.

Some people seem shocked by bone induction, but it's definitely not new, a lot of hearing aids use it.

Galaxy Nexus on Sprint, (4/2/12)

Update 4/2/12: looks like the lg viper 4/15 followed by the nexus 4/22
http://www.androidauthority.com/sprint-galaxy-nexus-4g-lg-viper-4g-release-date-70751/
suprisingly, i havent seen much in the forums about this, so i figured i would start a discussion (if anyone feels like discussing).. April 15th apparently is the date for the Gnex to show up on sprint.. What are my fellow epic user's thoughts? too little too late? I personally have had an upgrade since december burning a hole in my pocket..

Its been my plans since I first saw the leaked advertisement. I'm not waiting three or four more months for a quadcore... ill catch em next upgrade... my laptop barely has a quadcore... =]. It may be foolish but I want a google phone not a unreliable samsung phone. =P just my thoughts, least I know if android 5.0 is released my phone will receive it... all newer android versions are being developed on the OMAP processor.. so I'm getting it release date. Had an upgrade for almost a year now I've waited enough.

Sammy is actually doing a good job with the gs2 firmware updates
Nexus phones are nice but is it really worth it
Pretty soon there will be a gs3 and I'm pretty sure they are going to launch it over the world at once before September or maybe during September

I just saw that last night! Lol
Sooo...I sent this to BGR, but they wouldn't run it without me handing over the proof, but that's not something I'm willing to do, so I'll reiterate here:
Our Playbook that came out on Wednesday shows two interesting things in the Calendar of upcoming things:
On the 12th of April, it's listed that Planogram materials (merchandise and advertising stuff) for a 4/15 launch will be arriving in stores. On the 15th, it lists that all POG materials need to be deployed by store opening.
The Playbook never mentions what is launching on the 15th, but they very conveniently slipped the dates in there without saying anything. Considering the galaxy nexus data storm contest ends on the 16th, its safe to say that the 15th can be confirmed as the release date for the galaxy nexus.

there is no real point, in getting it. the updates still have to go sprint sense its an cdma phone. so its still going to slow in getting updates. and big red's one hasnt gotten updated either. i would just wait for something better to come long.

I think it (well for me anyway) depends on the specs. If they're the same as the GNex on VZW, I'll more than likely pass. However, if they're slightly upgraded, then I may take a serious look at it. I too have had an upgrade for about 13 months now, so I'm just waiting on either the GNex or the SGSIII.

Just Saturdays I think, to replace the regular anime block. I wish they would have just moved the reg .anime block to Friday and have Toonami on Saturday because I like Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Durarara!!, and Cowboy Bebop to much =/ although Gundam Wing, Dragon Ball Z and Tom 3.0 make up for it.
Also worth looking at
Toonami Wiki said:
April Fool's Day 2012
On April 1, 2012, just past Toonami's 15th anniversary, Adult Swim replaced itself with the third version of Toonami, [6] featuring Tom 3.0, initially disguised as an airing of Tommy Wiseau's The Room. The channel guide did not reflect the changes, as is typical of Adult Swim's April Fools' jokes. It is still unclear whether this was a permanent change or merely a stung for April Fool's Day. Several classic shows were aired from the original lineup, with a special focus on climactic episodes, season finales, or final episodes. The shows, order aired, and episodes: Dragon Ball Z #191, Gundam Wing #10, Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki #19, Outlaw Star #25, Big O #1, Yu Yu Hakusho #110, Blue Submarine #6 #1, Trigun #23, the original Astro Boy #1, and Gigantor #1. [7] Tom also did a brand new bumper for the new episode of Bleach, plus a next episode preview. Some of the episodes shown were never broadcast on the original Toonami.
The revival featured original bumps performed by Steven Blum as Tom, and the classic promo, Dreams. There was an original game review of Mass Effect 3, giving the game an 8.5/10 while criticizing the ending for being "weak." Also done were original advertisements for DVDs of each of the animes shown in a more adult tone, such as Tom referring to the song "99 Problems" when discussing the Tenchi Muyo! DVD, encouraging the viewer to enjoy more nudity and violence with the Outlaw Star DVD, and describing the Big O DVD release with "Our giant robot can beat the crap out of your giant robot."

Google I/O

Anyone watching the keynote from Google I/O??
Jelly bean is A LOT more than a few bug fixes, increased speed and fluidity and a ton of features.
Nexus Q looks great!!!
Nexus 7 is fantastic!!!! I must have one! Now!!!!
The google glass demonstration was the best piece of PR I have ever seen, well played Google, well played......
Any thoughts from the community?
Hopefully the S3 sees JB soon as this hardware deserves the best software.
They said they sent out the PDK to oems and hardware partners a few weeks ago so maybe Sammy are already working on it! Fingers crossed!!!!

I wonder about glass though. It's quite terminatoresque for private use. For business and educational use it's great.
At 1500 dollars I wouldn't buy it but if they gave one away free to everyone I'd be jealous!
I reckon its the future though.

Google wants to follow us during travel. Wants us to upload our pictures... I used face recognition today on the s3. Although I am really excited about all the uses I can also imagine things going horribly wrong.
Glass can and will become dirt cheap. 1500 now for a Bluetooth camera? I think not.
The nexus 7 was the real star of the show for me, 1.3ghz quad tegra 3 with 12 core gpu. Wow.
I must have one.

Im not expecting JB on the S3 until the end of the year, any sooner will be a bonus. You dont buy an extensively customised flagship phone and expect a super fast update, SO much needs updating for JB, it will take a while.

Apple are charging an extra 100 bucks to have a stupid mainstream Apple on the back of the device. Why would i by an iPhone 4 when i could spend my money and buy an Android device with a quadcore and still have Money left to go out and get pi ssed for the month.
Android all the way. And every iPhone user just has it because of the supposed status of the device. Well I say screw that ill keep my android devices any day of the week over a stupid iPhone that only has 12 months of support

Does this stuff make the phone waterproof or just splash proof? Looks cool nonetheless!
Makes it water resistant, a bit more than splash proof.
Should be resistant to accidentally falling in a pool etc too. Just don't expect to be swimming with your phone
"Disclaimer: Liquipel applies a preventative coating designed to aid in the event of accidental liquid exposure, and assumes no responsibility for water damaged devices. Liquipel does not recommend your device ever come in contact with liquid."
Waste of money. Unless they plug the headphone port and speakers and all other little gaps.
Save your money and buy a Sony if its important to you.

That disclaimer doesn't mean it's a waste of money. If they said "go drop your phone in water now that it's waterproof" is like a car company telling you to crash your car because it has airbags.
You obviously didnt read the info on the website, because it would explain why the headphone and speakers don't need to be blocked

Indirectly it is device specific. They have to get the manufacture to "approve" the method they use does not damage the device and it may still consider to be under warranty after treatment. That is why not every device are listed. I believe you can get any of them done but you would have to take the liabilities instead in the warranty i think.
