Galaxy i9505 Exmor RS camera sensor? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does i9505 version of S4 with snapdragon has Sony Exmor RS senor like the i9500? Is there any information about this?
Wysłane z Galaxy S3

As I know, both have same camera. Same camera, same plastic, same home button, same screen, same battery, same quality of sticker inside the battery compartment, same logo (and brand, of course), same RAM, BUT DIFFERENT CPU, GPU, AUDIO and WIFI

We're still not sure. Detail seems to be better on the I9500 variant, although my I9505 has taken a few Exmor RS worthy pics itself.. I'm not sure what to think anymore, we definitely need to find a way to verify which sensor we have on our cameras.

S4 Active

After reaching almost 3 years with my original SGS I'm looking to buy and S4 next week. But should I wait for the S4 Active?
Looking at the leaked specs the only difference between the two phones is the camera (worse on the Active). I'm tempted buy the ruggedness of the Active but I'm more inclined to buy a phone that will have plenty of xda development. I'm also concerned that the Active may not have a removable battery (this hasn't been specified) as this prolonged the life of my SGS.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Cheers.
Here's a link to the S4 Active specifications.

Any thoughts?
Thanks
I hope that the camara sensor is Exmor RS (the same as Xperia SP)
Samsung is better in ultilizing camera than Sony.

Unlikely. Probably gets the S3/N2's 8MP shooter.

It's a 4.8mm lens with f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 16 MP camera. I based these specs on the exif data of a sample picture. Samsung has not confirmed anything about the sensor, although it is suspected that it is by Sony. Not much more is known at this time.

get photo make with help Note4, then PUMa - Tools - Camera with this photo and have information about module & sensor
It uses Sony imx240 sensor afaik
Why are samsung not releasing info?
Thanks for all comments but this is weird English - The Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 16MP 1/2.6” size sensor with f2.0 aperture lens. This is not the same module as on the Galaxy S5 though. Did they mean it is the same module?

The aperture is wrong in that article. There are sample photographs out there you can download and then examine the exif data. That will confirm that the aperture is f/2.2 and the lens is 4.8mm. Exactly as Galaxy S5.

Thought as much. That's the reason samsung didn't release info as they knew they would be hammered grouping some camera tech!
Not asking much just a decent spec camera? At least S5 takes good pics in general just same Sammy low light fail (indoor)

The Note 4 may do better in low light however if they have incorporated a Sony sensor. OIS should help as well. There are other things that could be different too like ISO, and shutter speed, So I am curious to see how this thing will do in low light.

Well it was believed to be the Sony sensor. However the Lenovo Vibe Z2 released with a 16MP OIS Samsung made ISOCELL camera sensor leads to believe Samsung used their own ISOCELL sensor in the Note 4.
And released samples show a lot of improvement in low light compared to past Samsung devices. Even the S5.
And the OIS video test compared to the S5 makes an immediate huge difference. And the S5's video without OIS was already outstanding. So the detail or better of the S5 with OIS to clear up more detail and stabilize it.

On the german Samsung-Site it looks like the rear camera will have only f/2.4 aperture

I thought it was already confirmed to be a Sony IMX240 sensor?
Sammobile is usually on point - can't post links yet, but google "Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera Features – 16MP, Side Touch, Wide Selfie, and much more." See below for quote.
According to our sources, Samsung is equipping the Galaxy Note 4 with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX240 camera sensor on the back with optical image stabilization (OIS), which is capable of shooting UHD (3840×2160) video at 30FPS. This isn’t the first time Samsung is using the IMX240 camera sensor - Samsung has used the exact same sensor in the Korean Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (SM-G906S/L/K), however it lacked optical image stabilization (OIS)

Note4 / Snapdragon or Exynos for better camera?

Hello!
I will buy a Note4 but i have dilemma for going on Exinos or Snapdragon because i'm mostly interested in best camera quality i can get?
Does anybody have some experience which one to buy regarding that matter?
TNX!
Exynos version comes with Samsung's own ISOCELL sensor while Snapdragon comes with Sony IMX sensor. Both take outstanding pictures, but exynos version has always been preferred by photographers because the shutter time is up to .4s faster compared to the snapdragon sensor. I've used both and exynos took clearer pixels than snapdragon. (Pictures taken by ISOCELL doesn't pixelate under 60% zoom, while the latter show signs of pixelation under 60%).
In simple terms, exynos wins!

Galaxy S7 Specs (Rumored)

Well as far as I've checked, the Galaxy S7 will be as it was with other models the fastest smartphone. Here is a short specs that I can almost be assured
____________________________________
1. Chipset
=> Exynos 7422 Octa (Indian)
=> Exynos 8890
=> Snapdragon 820
2. Display
It might sport the same QHD resolution at 5.2 inches or maybe a 4K. With presaure touch solution, it'll take androiding to a whole new level.
3. Extras
Just like the previous models, S7 will also feature a fingerprint sensor. Again it is rumored that it might have an Iris scanner like Lumia 950.
It must have a heart rate sensor
4. Camera
Samsung may use a smaller camera to make the device slimmer.
==> 16 MP Sony Exmor Camera with OIS. Front facing 5-8 MP camera with DIS/EIS and autofocus.
This is all i've currently. Please stay tuned and check every websites for more
With QHD and especially 4K resolution combined with TouchWiz software it's going to need a HUGE battery. The S6 with its 2,550mAh battery and QHD screen had crap battery life.
A lot of your rumors are obvious (like having a fingerprint scanner), some are wrong (like it likely having a 16MP sensor), and you're missing the useful specs and anything new.

You're right, I heard something about that changing on the S6 and Note 5 but I think it was the dedicated flash for the heart rate sensor that was removed.
Probably no chance for FM radio...?

No more Sony camera sensors on Qualcomm version?!

Last years all the S and Note versions use to have Sony IMX sensors on Qualcomm version and SLSI (Samsung low quality sensors) on the Exynos version.
I just test a Qualcomm version from China and I was very surprised to discover with Aida64 that Samsung uses the low quality sensors even on this Qualcomm version, only the selfie sensor is IMX from Sony.
I just wonder, in US version with Qualcomm it's the same? Becouse, I really like the IMX sensors vs Samsung ones
Just check it with AIDA64 and let us know pls. Thank You!
Confirmed...slsi on US model.

Same on Canadian
You shouldn't call them low quality, Sony is actually quite behind hardware-wise and Samsung is getting rid of it for a reason, you can very well expect the next Pixel to have an ISOCELL sensor too, it would really do wonders with good processing.
Many manufacturers are sourcing these sensors from Samsung, Apple includes them in their latest phones too
But yeah, the only Sony IMX Qualcomm S10s have is the front camera, everything else is a proprietary upgrade.
I have an Exynos and I'm very happy with the rear camera, disappointed with the front one, it's applying a pink-clear effect on skins no matter the settings and I just don't come from a culture obsessed with automatic photo editing to make faces look like plastic, I want total accuracy and I hope they give up on the Asian autophotoshop bull**** with future updates, I don't need that.
