Pin lock bypass at home? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I thought I read that you can set favorite or home wifi networks and when the phone is connected to one of those networks the pin lock would disable itself.
Anybody else read that somewhere? Do you know where the setting is?
THANKS!

i thought this had happened to me, i did not know what to do so i selected the option to lock screen if i press the power button or the standby timeout then i did not see the pin lock bypass anymore...

It was removed from the firmware. It was decided that security outweighed convenience

There are apps on the Play Store. You connect to wifi. Type passcode once then you dont have to.

Delay on locking screen when it is turned off

I like to turn off my screen when I am not using my galaxy tab. If I come back after a couple minutes, it annoys me that I have to unlock my tablet.
I would like a way for the screen not to lock until I haven't touched the tablet for 5 minutes, but any less than that it then it doesn't prompt for code.
Is there a setting or app that allows me to do this?

Is there a way to disable Screen lock with VPN configured ?

Hi all,
I have VPN configured on my N7, and every time the device wakes up form sleep or resets it asks me for a code (password/pattern).
I try to get rid of the screen lock with No Lock app, it just made it worse (every time I open an app it asks me for a code).
Is there any way to get rid of this function ?
Thanks
No-lock works fine for me. Mine is rooted, though. Yours?

My N7 is rooted. At first No Lock worked fine, but after a while it got crazy, and made the screen lock to appear every time I opened an app.

Good app for airplane mode and phone signal turnoff?

I tried a couple of apps or widgets for airplane mode, but for some reason I couldn't even get them working. Could someone recommend a good app/ toggle / widget?
Also is there any app or widget to turn off the N4 cellular signal receiver?

long press the power button?
^this, or pull down the notification centre with two fingers.
Did you try Widgetsoid?
I do the "Power Button" for Airplane Mode.
For Mobile Data:
Widgets > Settings shortcut > Data usage
When you open it, you can turn on and off Mobile data, and still use WiFi and receive calls and SMS messages.
Didn't Google prevent non root apps from activating/deactivating airplane mode with Android 4.2? I just use Tasker with the secure settings plugin
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I really appreciate it...
I still haven't found one app that would allow me to put a toggle on the home screen so that with one touch I can turn off or on the airplane mode. It seems all the suggestions require two or more touches?
Is there any toggle that with one touch on the home screen I can turn off/on the whole mobile network (not just data but also calls/messages) with wifi remaining on? I can't believe such a thing doesn't exist!
Try "Widgetsoid" or "Extended Controls". Been using them heavily before and they work pretty well. Although I havent tried recently since I went with a minimalist home screen.
Try power toggles.. U can add a lot of new ones in settings

Am I the only one wondering why he thinks having to do 2 touches actually is a problem?

thanks for your opinion. OK, not a big deal with two touches for the airplane mode. Care to share your experience regarding the following question?
Is there any app with which one can turn off/on the whole mobile network (not just data but also calls/messages) with wifi remaining on, regardless how many touches involved?

I use power toggles and the airplane toggle is not a true toggle. It takes you to the menu.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I just noticed that if you hit power or home button, then pull the notification bar down and toggle WiFi on or off. It will unlock the phone without a password or fingerprint. Can others try it and post their results maybe it's just my phone.
I'm on T-mobile and use the fingerprint lock
just your phone, mine asks for a fingerprint after trying to disable wifi!

No problem here: asks for fingerprint or code.

Maybe you have smart lock on?
Nah, asks for fingerprint/password when I try to disable/enable WiFi.

Probably smart lock or isn't locked. OP, on your lock screen a little lock icon at the bottom will indicate locked or unlocked. If it shows locked and unlocks when you do the WiFi settings crap then that's weird...

After reboot it's fine now lol.

Tonight i have been having problems with fingerprint scan.

On unlocking phone its been saying please use pattern instead of fingerprint scan because of security. Any idea what the problem is and any recommendations on how to resolve this issue? Also done cache clear but still the same issue

You may have activated Smart Unlock by accident? you can set your phone to not ask you for an unlock depending on location or connected to a network or a bluetooth device. I have mine unlocked at home, so it only prompts me to swipe. Soon as I disconnect from the wireless network it will start prompting for a fingerprint scan or my pin.
If that ain't it then I wouldn't know, hope it helps.

This is because you are probably using an app/gesture to lock the screen (or anything else other than the power button). I have the same issue if I use Nova launcher gestures to lock my screen. I now use LMT for screen-off and that doesn't cause any problems.
