Hey everybody.
So I flashed CM10.1 today. The Camera app had a few more features than the stock camera app, it used to have ISO settings and burst mode and it didn't continuously autofocus like the stock camera app did. It also had a feature called power shot. But then after I installed a few apps, i couldn't find any of those features on the camera. The apps I installed were chrome, whatsapp, facebook messenger and solid explorer. I had also removed a few cm apps like movie studio, so i wiped and reflashed the rom, but I still don't have those features. Any Idea what's wrong? My camera app is like the stock cam now. No cm features at all.
Did you flash GAPPs? If so, it replaces the CM camera with the stock Google one

CM 6.0.0 DS's camera keeps crashing and reboot the phone, anyone got this problem?
Basically if something involved the camera, such as using qik, and the AWlauncher to lauch camera, after it is opend or closed, the phone rebooted.
If i open camera via normal app button, and close it, everything is normal.
try to update adw launcher or do a reflash
isnt the adw launcher with CM the most up to date?
and where do i get the new adw launcher?
I also saw there is issue with the camera apk, and google isnt releasing it out to find out the issue within the software.
if u cant find a dump of an older camera apk try a newer one like from gingerbread or upgrade to cm6.1
Hi again, the stock blur photogallery are terribly slow,. Im currently using quickpic as my default photo gallery viewer. Im on apex 1.4.1 rom.
The stock blur camera keeps defaulting to the 3d gallery when I take a picture and click the thumbnail..
I even emailed the dev of quickpic and sent him logcat logs and he said that the gallery is "hardcoded" to the camera?
I tried copying over quickpic, renaming it to 3dgallery.apk in system app, but it wont run.

Go to manage apps in your settings and find the camera and clear defaults. Then open camera app and hit the thumbnail to go to the gallery. It should ask you which app to open it with. Check the box to use as default
Hi there, I already tried that, NG.. I ended up going with the aosp camera and using a modded xml that upps the bandwith for a small edge in quality over the blur camera. and it lets me use the quickpic gallery.

I have a big problem with camera app and gallery, i think it was related with the rom (slimkat build 4) but I get the same bug with cm11.
The camera app isn't working, it's autoclosing every time I opened it and the gallery don't show the preview of the video.
If i install another camera app from the store it work, and also the stock camera app in the original firmware never crashed!
How can i resolve it?

Go back to stock and see if it happens there. If it does, then you have a hardware issue.
this camera issue happend after i install cm 12.
Even I installed cm 12.1 in redmi note.. Camera is not working now

Camera issues are well documented with this device and Cyanogenmod. Solution: install a third party camera from the Play Store such as CameraMX. In general, the third party camera apps provide their own binaries which do not reference the ones included in Cyanogenmod, which is why they are more reliable than the stock camera app.

I'm having trouble accessing my the record feature with front facing camera on many apps except the stock camera app . On some apps it wouldn't even allow me to switch to my front facing camera at all; when I pressed the switch camera it would revert to the back camera. Apps like WeChat does allow me to take pictures using the front facing for selfies, but not video chat.
Things I tried so far.. reboot my phone, clearing caches, uninstalling useless apps (I still have a lot of space), checked the permissions on all apps, reset the app preferences. enabled camera, I spent almost three hours checking for answers. I need to use the front facing video capture. Please help. Much love and thanks!
