[CWM][6.0.3.1] ClockworkMod Recovery - Oppo Find 5

Hey there,
Please find CWM for Oppo FInd 5 attached to this thread
CWM (ClockWork Mod) is a custom recovery designed to flash unofficial updates, backup and restore your device, and repair it in case of bad-flashed files, as well as a few extras.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Download the Android SDK in order to get the "fastboot" command-line tool
- Download the recovery.img and put it in the directory of fastboot (......\android-sdk\tools\)
- Hold power key and choose to restart your phone. Unplug any USB cord, and press the Volume Up key when the screen goes black. It takes some practice to get in fastboot mode, you might need to not press the Vol Up key immediately, etc. It's a bit jiggly, but after some time you get used to it and manage to do it in the first try
- If you succeed so far, you should be on a black screen with white text saying "fastboot mode..."
- Plug your USB cord, open your command-line, go to the fastboot directory, and type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- After a few seconds, the recovery will be flashed. Then type fastboot boot recovery.img to boot the recovery immediately
- Use the recovery option "Reboot system now" and say "Yes" to "Prevent system from writing recovery". Oppo official ROM will reflash a stock recovery on boot if you don't do that.
It shouldn't be too hard. Also, you're free to use CWM or TWRP (available in another thread), whatever you prefer. I'm just making that thread to separate our CyanogenMod build from the recovery itself and provide an alternative.

Thanks,
Its actually 6.0.3.1

Nice, any reason to choose CWMR over TWRP?

CWM is known to work, and it's what we were using for development. It's less beautiful than TWRP, but it does its job, so if you don't plan to spend hours in recovery, CWM is a bit more painful to use (vol keys + power to validate), but safer.

https://plus.google.com/106631699076927387965/posts/PzR46FpXiWP is a pretty good summary of it.
The TWRP guys do great work, but - recovery is recovery, you shouldn't be spending that much time there. CWM's simplicity makes it a bit easier to maintain.

Will you be updating it to clockworkmod touch? That would be great
Also, does it support ROM Manager app? I find this a better method since it removes need for a PC,and is simpler.

CWM touch is not open source, so no.
As to ROM Manager - I personally don't use it, it has failed on every device I've ever tried it on. It softbricked Infuses easily, and caused no end of problems on the I777.

It worked well on my phone, and saved a lot of time,it all has to do with the quality of the CWM submitted. At least consider it,if only for the PC-less.

Um, you can do things PC-less now - it's just not recommended. CMUpdater is PC-less, so is downloading a ZIP and flashing it in recovery. (Although I don't recommend this, mobile browsers seem to be far more likely to corrupt zips than desktop ones do.)
You should never be flashing stuff without a PC around in case things go wrong anyway.

I agree with you,but if it works well there's nothing wrong with it. The option is a good thing. It works well with Goomanager and TWRP atleast. And it's easier to download an app from playstore than setup ADB,for the "make my phone kewl" user.

None of us. Recovery Builder builds have a nasty habit of breaking - they've been nothing but a nightmare over on N80xx (lots of Status 7 errors that shouldn't be happening.)
Seriously, CWM Touch only makes sense on the Kindle Fire (no volup/voldn keys). On top of that, it's closed source.

Yeah that may be true but I came from 4Ext on HTC Sensation. I missed the touch, and I don't like TWRP so much. But I'm glad there is a CWM Touch that works for the Find 5.

Where is the CWM touch which works for Find 5?

custom rom help for a n00b

OK so first off I want to apologize, I am a noob. Im on many other differedt types of forums and I know n00bs are universally hated. So bear with me.
I know a decent bit about computers/phones/technology. Well more then your average bear at least. Not as much as you guys though.
My phone is permarooted, and now im looking to put a custom rom on. My brother permarooted it for me.
OK I know you guys are gonna say omgz read all the info on the site it's all here. I went to the android dev forum and there are sooooooo many builds I don't even know where to begin. I know none of the cm mods are 'stable' yet. But surely some more then others, no? What are the differences between 6, 6.1, and 7? Any reccomendations? I will be attempting this tomorrow.
If anyone can give me some pointers, point me in the right direction, newb friendly teks.
Any advice or input in very appreciated.
Thanks.
If you like stock android, I would highly recommend cyanogen mod 7. It turned my mt4g into a speed demon. And it is stable enough to a daily driver.
If you like sense, ( why would anyone) then I'd recommend the ice glacier rom, it is close to stock but with alot of bloatware removed.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App

I guess.I'd like to go with this build.
The instructions aren't very newb friendly. Is there a guide somewhere that goes a bit more in depth on the steps?
INSTRUCTIONS:
-First time flashing CM 7 to your MT4G (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager
Clockwork recovery is an app? How does one install via rom manager?
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
What does this entail/what tools would I news to do this?
3. Flash ClockworkMod Recovery 3.x 3. WIPE
???
4. Install the ROM
???
5. Optionally install the Google Addon
Why wouul one want to do this and what would the benefits bbe? How would you go about it as well?
I know y'all are prolly like wtf how annoying. But is really apprexiate the help. I have my reasons for doing this, I don't just think its cool or something.
Im more then willing to do the research myself there's just so much info out there i dontknow where to go. Even a point in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks.

"ROM Manager" is an app (search the Market). Clockwork Recovery is installed via ROM Manager (do it two or three times, sometimes it won't "stick" right after you are rooted).

This is done from Clockwork Recovery. You can either run ROM Manager and choose "Reboot to recovery" or power the phone down then power back up while holding volume down. There will be a backup menu (nandroid). Make a backup (it saves on your SD card).

Search the forum. Sorry, I'm running a ROM that doesn't require recovery 3.x. Once you find the recovery image you need to flash it via adb or directly from a Terminal Emulator app on the phone. Usually flash recovery <your_recovery_img> or via adb in fastboot mode fastboot flash recovery <your_recovery_img> You can also perform a full (SYSTEM) wipe in recovery mode.

DL the ROM, place the zip on your SD card. Reboot into recovery (should be there already after doing a wipe in step 3) and pick "Install zip from SD card". Scroll to your ROM's zip, select it, confirm, watch the magic happen.

I don't use a CM ROM on this phone but did on my G1. Search the CM site or the forums here. CM ships "bare android", aka the AOSP (Android Open Source Project). Things Google adds (Gmail, Calendar, Navigate, etc) can not ship with CM due to copyright. You can, however, download and re-install them (since they came with your phone anyhow).
I suggest you read things thoroughly and treat everything like you will brick your shiny new toy before ever attempting it. Make sure you're willing to spend $450 retail on a new phone if you screw up. The first time through any of this is NOT for the faint of heart, and you cannot be overly cautious.
You'll probably get a lot of flames of "OMG DONT DO ANYTHING YOU DIDNT SEARCH AND READ", but good luck. Just seriously, be sure to read everything at least three times before doing it. It gets easier once you've been doing it for a few years, but the first trip....It's a deep rabbit hole

[Recovery] ClockworkMod Recovery flashable from bootloader

Someone asked if it was possible to flash ClockworkMod Recovery through hboot instead of using RomManager. The answer...yes.
Primary reason something of this nature may be useful, as I see it, is if your recovery is damaged, your ROM is bootlooping, and you don't want to use or have access to ADB.
In that case you would:
remove your sdcard from your phone
place the zip on the root of the sdcard (using an adapter or another phone) and make sure it is named the appropriate "PG05IMG.zip"
place the sdcard back in your phone
boot to bootloader as if you're installing a radio (power+VolDown from powerOff). It will then find the zip, recognize it as recovery and ask if you want to install (if it does not prompt then select "Bootloader" from hboot).
Follow the instructions and after it finishes flashing pull your battery to power off (since the ROM will be bootlooping and hboot will constantly find the zip)
Now remove the sdcard and delete the zip (via adapter or other phone) like you did to put it on the sdcard, then place the card back in the phone.
Boot back to bootloader (Pwr+VolDwn)
Select "Recovery" and use CWR to wipe data/cache, flash a new rom, restore, or whatever you wish.
Obviously not the only reason since some people prefer this method over RM but clearly in that case the whole sdcard switching mess is unnecessary. Just do steps 2 and 4 and reboot when prompted like you do with radios.
Remember to remove any PGO5IMG.zip from your sdcard when done.
If this isn't useful to you, so be it. I just figured I'd throw this out there. Maybe it will help someone.
I will keep this updated as new versions come out for those few that find it useful.
**Credit to Koush and jcase**
All I did was decide to throw them in a zip that was useful in some situations for panicking users.

Someone asked if it was possible to flash ClockworkMod Recovery through hboot instead of using RomManager. I didn't see the need at the time but I took a few minutes to throw together a test. Let me know if it works for you or not.
I tested flashing the stock recovery from the custom firmware, confirmed it had replaced CWR, then used this to install CWR back.
Primary reason something of this nature may be useful, as I see it, is if your recovery is damaged, your ROM is bootlooping, and you don't want or have access to ADB. In that case you would just pull your sdcard, place this on the root (via adapter or someone else's phone) named the appropriate "PG05IMG.zip", place back in your phone, and boot to bootloader as if you're installing a radio. It should then find it, recognize it as recovery and ask if you want to install.
Additionally, seems if it is as easy as swapping the .img out which is all I did, then the original custom upgrade firmware flashed in the last step of the root guide could include this. Then you'd have CWR immediately after finishing the permaroot guide.
If this doesn't work and doesn't have any use for anyone, so be it. I just figured I'd throw this out there.
BTW, this is ClockworkMod Recovery 3.1.0.2 (latest for mecha at time of posting).
Note1: Only tested on Engr hboot with S-off obviously
Note2: I don't have access to an MD5 generator where I am so people that test this should have a booting ROM with RomManager or at least know how to manually reflash ClockworkMod Recovery if it doesn't work.

Here is your package with the 4.0.0.5 Modded Recovery ready to flash in HBOOT.
JCASE created the Recovery, so him the love for it. I all I have done is use it. LOL It gives you the option under "advanced" to "reboot bootloader". So you can install the ROM, then simply boot into boot loader to flash the radio.

In your case it would probably be easier to just use flash_image from terminal on the phone (i.e. flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img) assuming your current rom has it (if not just search and download it) or you have RM installed. The main case I saw this being useful was if you didn't have or want to use ADB and your ROM was unusable (e.g. bootlooping). I may add Jcase's modded recovery to the OP as well since it seems useful/wanted by some.
I thought the one JCase made had issues with nandroid backups installing? I could be wrong but for some reason I remember that issue for several people.

actually, thats allready how it is ive rooted mr2 twice and the mr1 upgrade allready has clockwork installed.
it is that easy,i have done this, and i have also removed the hboot and stock recovery from PG05IMG RUUs so that i could flash without destroying recovery and my eng bootloader.
thanks for putting it together and offering the download, it has many uses, as people will see. the biggest one allready having been mentioned,if something screws up your OS and recovery, its easy to get it back.
did you make up your own android info file? or what did you take it from?

Figures. It was too simple of a concept not to have been done but I didn't see anyone that had done it in Tbolt. I also hadn't seen anyone mention it was in the custom firmware either and I didn't have time to check this morning before I left for work. I guess I can pull that part out of the OP since you say it's already in there.

id be willing to bet most people dont know, lol.they prolly just blindly downloAd rom manager and flash it. i checked to see if it was there, after seeing this as one of the last statements in the root post: Reboot your phone. its one of the things i really love about htc. i got used to installing recoverys, splash screens, etc. on my incredible, then started experimenting with img files on my eris, and discovered it was quite possible to simply move the images around kinda neat if you want to try a leaked ruu but dont want to wait for someone to post a CWM flashable roms. just pull out the hboot and stock recovery and flash away
it was quite common to manipulate things in hboot on the inc,but never mentioned in the eris forum, where most of the gurus frowned upon the s-off bootloader.kind of a shame... more bricked eris's prolly could have been revived after the clockwork fiasco if s-off was part of the common root process.
thanx for the android info info. when i make them up,it doesnt seem to matter which one i use. i dont think it even checks the text inside,i think you just need a text document titled "android info" lol

[UNOFFICIAL] Team Win Recovery Project for Thunderbolt (10/9 1.1.1-rbox.1)

When the Team Win Recovery Project (twrp) was first working for the Thunderbolt, it didn't fully support the ext3 filesystem, which is what most ROMs used. I initially added that, and over time added extra features. With the 1.1.0 release of TWRP, there is an official build from Team Win that supports both the ext3 and ext4 filesystem. There are some features in my builds that people like that aren't in the official build, so for now I will continue to release my version. As usual, this should work, but I make no guarantees. And of course the source is on github: https://github.com/androidrbox/Team-Win-Recovery-Project
Version 1.1.1-rbox.1: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ye85b3n1f72nen3/twrp111rbox1_PG05IMG.zip (MD5SUM: 31ae566360d4729ff1be2a5a67952777)
The same warning from the TWRP website applies here. Backups from 1.0.3 and below are not compatible with 1.1.1.
Flash this like any other PG05 image in the bootloader.
If you like what I'm doing, feel free to donate. Thanks!
Known Problems:
Under certain circumstances, recovery may fail to start. Running 'recovery' from within adb shell, running adb reboot recovery, or pulling the battery should fix it. This is still being investigated.
10/9: Updated to version 1.1.1-rbox.1
Sync'd to the official TWRP 1.1.1.
The follow is the list of features ontop of the base 1.1.1 that are from all my previous builds.
Added a ClockworkMod Theme
Added a haptic feedback toggle
Show the charging status in the header
Added a capacitive button backlight toggle
Show minutes and seconds during backup/restore
Allow continuous scrolling
Fixed a bug where the capacitive buttons stopped working
Added touchscreen support
Great recovery. SO much faster! I love it
Thanks for posting, will update sticky tonight to include link and info.

For one it's faster IMO, you can charge while in recovery, search key selects items (instead of abusing you poor power button lol), you can change the color of the text, etc, etc, etc
I've been real pleased with it, and the support thus far has been outstanding!! Not only acknowledging request, but actually implementing them

I, too have been using this since it was posted on umm...another site. The changes to requests have been swift and accurate.
I think the menus are more intuitive. You have the option to backup/restore: system/data/recovery/boot. It charges while in recovery and shows you the percent. No issues with md5 as each partition has it's own. You can simply rename the folder that they all reside in.
Gonna give this a try.... Sounds promising

I probably try a different rom every week our so. The current clockwork does charge your phone while wiping and installing. faster is better but from what I see its just uI differences
The light does not display while charging in clockwork but you will notice the phone power dos not go down much if at all on clockwork.
I decided to upload a sort of preview of something I've been working on for a few weeks. It allows you to use the touchscreen to scroll. It's not perfect but it works. There's also no checkbox to enable/disable it, so I have decided to leave the previous versions link up as well. But as long as you don't touch the screen, using this version is not different than the previous. Using the volume keys for scrolling is unaffected.
I'm liking the touch screen support.
I'm trying to flash Shift 1.4 onto my Phone and it says E: Can't Open /tmp/sideload/package.zip (bad)

Wow. See you have touchscreen enabled in recovery. Thats something I've been wanting for a long time. Have you pushed the commits for it to github? I didn't see it on there nor a tag for '1.0.3-rbox.3

There is always the PG 05 clockwork recovery that can be flashed in bootloader, if you using rom manager doesn't work. I don't know about Bootmanager never used that app

I'm not having any problems now just asking ahead of time. I figure it out that i can flash the clockwork recovery zip like a radio in hboot. One other thing i did a backup and rename it "BamfForeverDH" without the Quotes, when i boot into recovery and try to do a backup the backup is not there. Do i have to name the it a special name or i just have to leave it with the name it was backed up with . I love this recovery it's fast, looks great and is very user friendly and BootManager works fine with it.
Ok got it, flash rom, backup restore, everything's working fine.

5.5.0.4 from Koush has a known problem

There are many ways to get out of this situation. Get all the tools (adb, ROM zip files, etc.). Read posts in the thread. Ask for help there.
Good luck.
Put your transformer in APX mode by hold the power button & volume up.. If it turns back on do it again, make sure you have you sync cable plugged in and drivers installed. Now that your in APX download this stock rom then root it with viper (option 1 in viper)
Stock rom

Viper root works on transformer & prime for root and unroot!!!

Yes there's a fix in there towards the bottom of the first post.
If you want to flash another recovery, turn your device on into recovery, connect it to your computer and use adb to push the file to your internal storage.
It should be something like "adb push filename.zip /data/media" then you can use the borked recovery you're on to flash the one you pushed.

Yes it will what are you talking about? If he wants his tablet to work again and if he's not worried about the data on it (since he can't access it anyway) then this will work... Overkill lol , call it what you want it will work and it's simple!

His problem is with it getting stuck in recovery, which is a known issue with Koush's 5.5.0.4, simple fix with adb. No need to reflash the whole rom.

Thanks for the help everyone--Ended up using NVflash to load a rom called prime 1.6. 3:30 a.m. and I am as good as new. No ICS but at least it is stable
Good to see you got it back working...

Unable to boot to CWM

So I've heard that when rooting, there's a bug that stops us from going into the cwm with the physical buttons and are forced to use the software to do it. My question is that when this bug is adressed will we just need to download the newer cw, from the play store and within that app just click flash clockwork mod? Or will we need to roof and do everything again?

root the tablet
then install ROM manager and flash the official recovery from there
works perfect
The bug is that you cannot boot into any recovery (cwm/twrp/stock) from bootloader unless you are plugged into you computer via a usb cable. The only other way to boot is to use a script but that requires a working system partition.

I have the same problem and I flashed the official CWM from Rom Manager. I made a nandroid before I messed with it and when I went to change the LCD Density, I don't know what happened but now it won't boot. I can't get into CWM either. I figure I'll use ADB when I get home to try and reboot into recovery, if not I'll search the forums for the stock image and reflash. If there is a HW workaround to get booted into it from the device itself that would be awesome. I had to do a battery pull to keep it from rebooting itself and killing the battery.
I've always had Rom Manager Pro and immediately after rooting, used it to flash backups, update to 6.0 cwm, etc. If your rooted you must have that or Goo Manager for TWRP flashing anyway. Might as well start immediately.
There is a thread somewhere here dealing with changing density. The Nexus7 has problems when you simply use a density changing app.. You must change density by modifying prop.build. You can do this using a root explorer app, or by using Rom Toolbox Pro. I use Rom Toolbox and it worked perfect.
Once I get it up and running again around lunch time, I'll do that. Probably bring my laptop back to work with me. One question I had is will I be able to access CWM recovery by using ADB commands or will it just put me on the Google screen with the padlock?

You can do fastboot boot recovery.img', or whatnot, even though it can't boot the recovery from the bootloader, at least you won't bork the device if /system gets messed up. 'adb reboot recovery' should work from android too.
I am stuck at the Google screen with the padlock and can't use ADB as it won't even recognize the device.
Is this a 6.0.0.6 issue? 6.0.0.4 worked just fine. I had a bad feeling when I hit upgrade through ROM Manager.

I believe you need to be on the bootloader screen? I haven't flashed anything from Asus in a while, not since my original Transformer.

Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
where recovery.img is a CWM image, should allow you to get into the recovery to fix whatever you messed up. Note that ADB is only functional if you already have CWM or Android booted... in the bootloader, fastboot is all that's available.
I have the same issue. Stuck at the Google logo with a padlock at the bottom. I didn't flash anything with ROM Manager just the recovery.img through fastboot, then did a fastboot reboot. Now I'm lucky if I can get the thing to stay off when I hold the power button it just pops back up to the padlock with Google logo.
When going to recovery from bootloader - freeze at google logo
It works by rebooting into recovery via ROM Manager. Also by the way, can anyone give me a link to the mod for the nexus 7 on jelly bean for the extended power menu?

Has anyone figured a way to access recovery using the buttons only? I've tried TWRP 2.2 and the newest cwm, and on a cold start from power off, it sticks at the Google logo. During a bootloop you are screwed unless you have a laptop within arms reach. Until this is rectified I'm leery of flashing anything. The whole point is being able to restore a nandroid in a crisis. I haven't found that ability yet. If anyone knows a way, please educate me!
Guess we can just wait. Besides there's not much development yet anyways. Would love to use AdFree and root explorer though.

Recommend downloading quickboot. It is a paid app but it boots you to recovery no hassles with the buttons

Ya i have tried several version of CWM and TWRP and manually reinstalled cwm via adb. but all of them don't let me boot from the bootloader, i get the google logo like everyone else. Not sure what else to try, need to not take any risks until there is a fix i guess ^_^ hope someone gets some ideas
