FAQ
Q Why a special Q&T Thread for a specific ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections. Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q How to move my post to the Q&A/T thread?
A Copy the text of your post in the dev's thread, got to the Q&A/T thread and paste it there. After having done that, go back to the dev's thread, edit your post and change the text into: moved to Q&A/T thread, preferably accompanied with a link to this thread.
Q When I'm asked to move my post to the Q#A/T thread, do I have to do that?
A When you're asked to move your post, there will always be given an explanation by the OP of the Q&A/T, e.g. your post is not development related (f.i. SD card problems, etc), so please be so kind to move your post. If you want to help the dev to keep his original thread as clean as possible from OT posts, then the answer is, of course, YES. Although we cannot force you to move your post, it's highly recommended to do so
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q What are the known issues with these ROM's?
A Right now there doesn’t appear to be any specific issues with this ROM.
Q How’s battery life?
A see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest

Welcome post
Hi,
First of all welcome to this thread. I wanted to be the first poster in this Q&T thread, especially created and dedicated to my ROM thread, to show my appreciation to be able being a part of this.. I want to thank Kuzibri, and of course the entire Q&T Team (all of them are RC's), to make this possible.
Now a little word about the goal of this specific Q&T thread:
"goal of this specific thread is to clean up my development ROM thread with Off Topic posts. These kind of posts will ,with this especially created Q&T thread , redirected to this new Q&A/T thread. With Off Topic post we, Kuzibri and I, mean posts that are not directly ROM development related, e.g. I want to use ths ROM, how to install it or can I use this app with this ROM,etc. Kuzibri and I will be monitoring my ROM thread for these kind of posts and ask the poster kindly to move his post to this thread. We hope that after a certain amount of time this will be self-sustaining and becoming a normal thing to do.
Many thanks to Kuzibri and the entire Q&T team,
macs18max

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
What is Nand, Data2EXT or NativeSD?
Just a brief understanding of types of installation. During installation of rom has 3 options for setup. 1. NAND 2. DataOnExt 3. NativeSD
1. NAND. Installing everything (System and data) on Phone Memory. sd-ext(EXT4 partition) partition isn't used
2. DataOnEXT. Installing all system files on phone(NAND) and Installing all data files on sd-ext(EXT4 partition)
3. NativeSD. Installing everything(System and Data) on sd-ext(EXT4 partition)
Depending on this 3 type of installation we need to decide if we need a Ext4 partition, as Nand do not require SD-EXT, but data2ext and NativeSD reuire SD-ext partition
Main Steps in brief
A. HSPL
B. Latest Radio
C. Install Bootloader cLK or MAGLDR (Seperate instructions for cLK and MagLDR)
D. Selecting system size and Install Recovery Extended TWRP 2.5.0.5 (Seperate instructions for cLK and MagLDR)
E. Partition sdcard (only data2ext and NativeSD)
F. Install ROM.
G. NativeSD setup (Seperate instructions for cLK and MagLDR)
H. Default kernel and Mulitboot options (For NativeSD, Seperate instructions for cLK and MagLDR)
Step A & B - HSPL, Radio
Install HSPL and the latest radio (probably most of you have done this, if not, search in Xda)
(It is recommended to task29 before flashing bootloader, but not necessary)
Click to collapse
Step C - Flashing Bootloader
Two type of Bootloader available for cLK or MAGLDR
First lets go to pro's and cons
Benifit MAGLDR over cLK
*Supports RMNET which is very stable data connection
*Support booting of WP7
*Boot a second faster than cLK
*NativeSD boot kernel don't occupy any space in Nand(Phone memory)
Benifit cLK over Magldr
*Support charging when device is OFF
*Behaves more like native android device, supporting fastboot and booting into recovery using ROM
*You can change system size by editing in settings, unlike Magldr we need to flash bootloader again.
Installation
Decide which Bootloader you want to flash: cLK or Magldr
Download Bootloader.zip and extract the content to a folder
Press and Hold volume down key and press switch on HD2. You will be booted into HSPL showing serial. Plug in the USB. HSPL will display USB
Run "LeoAdvancedRUU.exe" as administrator
Select "Regualr RUU (Task28) - recommended for flashing NBH with OS section
Select NBH file the bootloader you want (Selecting clk.nbh will flash cLK bootloader or magldr will flash MagLDR bootloader)
Click "Next" (This will flash bootloader, wait for it to finish and let it reboot)
Click to collapse
Step D - Flashing recovery and setting system partition
Understang of partitions: The Phones ROM has been partition into the following: Misc, Recovery, boot, system, cache, and data
Misc 1MB, boot 5MB and cache 5MB sizes are the same for most of ROM unless specified.
Recovery partition size depend on the Recovery we flash (For TWRP it is 9MB )
ROM develeper usually specifies the size of ROM, example system=300MB so we need to adjust system partition size accordingly.
The remaining space will be assigned to data automatically.
If you are planning to use data2ext, make system size 380MB as data partition isn't used, we can utilize everything for system.
For CLKBoot into Mainmenu for bootloader by pressing and holding the back button when during boot.
Go to Settings>Resize partition and change size of system by adding and subracting values, commit changes and apply.
Also change the size of recovery partition to 9MB
Download Recovery.zip and extract to a folder. Plug in USB. Run file "fastbootflash.bat" Wait. It should take around 2 mins to flash.(There is no progress bar)
Reboot Clk and now we can boot into recovery by pressing and holding the back button when during boot, and choosing recovery.
For MagldrDownload Recovery.zip and extract to a folder. Open File "flash.cfg"
Change the partition size for system. for example if you want to change system partition to 300MB, change the following: system ya 300M
and save changes to flash.cfg
Boot into Mainmenu for bootloader by pressing and holding the power (disconnect) button when during boot.
Choose "USB flasher" in menu. Connect usb cable. Run "DAF.exe" as administrator and follow instructions. It will flash recovery and reboot.
During reboot hold power button and boot in MAGLDR main menu. Choose "AD Recovery"
Click to collapse
Step E - Partitioning SD card
Partitioning SD card with ext4 (only required for data2ext and nativesd, this step is not needed for nand type installations)
Once booted in recovery, go to "advance" > "partition SD card" > and choose size for sd-ext partition by moving the slider.
And "swipe to partition" will start creating and formatting partitions
Click to collapse
Step F - Installating ROM
TWRP can mount sdcard as USB Mass Storage by choosing Mount>Mount USB Storage.
Copy the installation ROM Zip file to sdcard. Safely remove device in Windows and Unmount from TWRP recovery
In TWRP main menu click install and choose installation zip file and swipe to install.
Click to collapse
Step G - NativeSD Boot
When we installed NativeSD, the Bootloader doesn't know how to boot it. On power on it will still boot the Nand ROM. So we need to make the bootloader boot nativesd rom. Heres how
For cLKIf we have installed a NativeSD ROM, we need create seperate boot partition for storing the NativeSD kernel. in clk we can add 4 more secandary boot partitons. sboot, tboot, vboot and wboot (Offcource this comprimises nand space). To add/remove secandary partition go to clk settings
Now we can flash NativeSD kernel on Sboot. 3ways of doing this. I have already included an option in aroma installer to flash sboot whilst installing rom. However if you are on other rom, you will need to flash sboot2.zip (search in xda) or you can goto twrp recovery>advance>native manager choose your secandary boot and rom.
For MagldrFor Magldr is rather simple. We don't need to add secandary boot partiton for nativesd. Just show the location of the kernel on sdcard.
Goto Magldr main menu. now select Services>BootSettings>AD SD Dir and choose the NativeSD folder on sdcard.
Click to collapse
Step H - Default kernel and Mulitboot options
Now that we have STEP G, I will try to explain about Default kernel and Mulitboot options.
When to bootloader boots into ROM we need to tell the bootloader which ROM we need to boot into, this is done by choosing default kernel
When We enable ShowMultiboot the bootloader will ask the user to choose the ROM that need to be booted into. (Clk will wait for 5seconds for user input and then will boot in defualt kernel whereas Magldr will wait forever until user choose the ROM)
Scenario:
User A: I want my HD2 to directly boot into Nand(or Data2ext) ROM when I switchON my hd2
User B: I want my HD2 to directly boot into NativeSD ROM when I switch ON my hd2
User C: I want my HD2 to ask me which ROM should I boot, when I power up my HD2 and I will choose everytime which ROM to boot
User A and B wants to directly boot into their ROM type without asking (so they need to disable ShowMultiboot) but User A need to set Default kernel as NAND and User B has to set default kernel to NativeSD
UserC has to enable show multiboot.. Below are steps how to achieve this
For cLKBoot into Clk, Go to settings
You will see set default kernel. If you choose Nand it will boot into Nand(or Data2ext) ROM. (UserA should do this)
If you choose sboot(or on of the secandary) it will boot into NativeSD ROM. (UserB should do this)
If you enable show multiboot it will wait on the clk boot menu for 5 seconds. If you don't choose within 5 secs, it will boot to the default kernel selected (UserC should do this)
For MagLDRBoot in MagLDR main menu.
We can set default kernel by going to Services>BootSettings>BootSource.
Choosing Boot from NAND will automatically boot into Nand or Data2ext everytime we switch on HD2 (UserA should do this)
Choosing Boot from SD will boot into NativeSD automatically, without asking, everytime we switch ON HD2 (UserB should do this)
We can enable show multiboot by going to Services>BootSettings>Always Menu. . Choosing Green-Yes will activate Show Multiboot(UserC should do this)

Goal of this specific Q&A/T thread for SLIM ROM JB
Hi my dear followers of this ROM,
As an addition to the post of macs18max in the third post, I will explain further the goal of this specific thread created for this ROM with the permission of the Developer of this ROM:
This is a statement made in the Q&A/T template thread:
"While our forum has slowly been morphing, the one area we would like to keep original is Development
The goal is to alleviate the OT banter that occurs within any rom. While the XDA forum continues to grow, we need to help users work within the guidelines created by XDA. Over the last couple of years the average rom being created, has become a free for all chat thread. There tends to be much infighting and mod/developer cleaning.
The idea of this template is to create a Questions and Answers for each rom. This is in no way asking for Development to be moved here, rather any and all conversation that is non Development related to your conjoined Q&A."
This means that non-development related posts, should be posted - with the permission of the Dev - in this thread. What are the most common Off Topic posts, that should be posted in this Q&A/T thread?
1. Battery life related posts
2. Will this app work with this ROM
3. SD Card related problems
4. How do I dowmload and install this ROM, etc
Hope to have given you enough information,
kindest regards, Kuzibri

Is there a reason why should I replace my CWM 5.0.2.6. with 4ext recovery? I mean,is it better, does it have more options, is it more stable...?I'm asking this cause 4ext was recommended here as recovery type.
Will the flashing of 4ext wipe my rom and everything? I never flashed another recovery but cwm,and that was way back when my phone was still running WM.
Sorry for asking this here, but like I said ,only cause 4ext was mentioned here.
Thanks.

I've just seen this: "Select the size of for 1st partition (Choose greater than 1024MB) (This will be the size of data partition)"
I have one 4ext 1024mb partition and everything is working fine, except some FC in trebuchet.
Is there a reason I should increase my partition to 2gb?

Hi Lincoln357, I think you should try another recovery, you might then be able to boot a pixeldroid rom, just a thought.
That said, I had trouble with this ROM on nativeSD booting from wm6.5.
I first tried launcher2 from aroma, after booting and at end of setup i had setup not responding (wait/force close) and could not get to launcher (home button pressed). After reboot it hung on slim bootscreen.
Fresh install same sdcard, and it hung on slim bootscreen. (note sdcard was previously formatted with gparted)
Fresh install new sdcard, chose nova, same problem with setup and couldn't get to launcher. (formatted with minitool)
Fresh install, same new sdcard, formatted sdext with recovery (4ext sd version edited by Xylograph, never given me problems before) and finally got it to go to launcher. Phew:laugh:
So a combination of sdcard and formatting got me there. It is odd how some roms are sensitive to these things
Lastly, I think the same problem with tytung's aroma script with ppp is occurring here. If you leave rmnet as default (booting from wm6.5), there is no data. you must choose ppp to get data despite there being a checksys.sh and lines in updater.script which should force ppp install for haret booting.
Anyway, its great to see Slim ROM back on our hd2, it seems really fast.
Excellent job max18mac  and thanks for your continuing support for our hd2:highfive:

Posts in this Q&A/T thread
Hi my friends,
It/s vey nice to see, that when a Dev's Rom and the accompanying Q&A/T thread for this ROM are released on the same day, posters will make directly more use of this Q&A/T thread. Totally different from starting a Q&A/T thread for an already existing ROM!! Thanks very much for posting here and hoping that this thread will become very soon self-sustaining without our interference on the Dev's thread to move posts to this thread!!! Again, thank you very much, really appreciate this!!!!!
kindest regards, Kuzibri

Can't see why this is not the place for it. We are in Q&A forum after all I see your point though.
Unfortunately I don't know, hardly ever used nandroid. Been mostly on wp7 in nand, and 6.5 before that. you might have to search a bit, or maybe wait til max18mac wakes up after working all day (and more) on this release
Sorry can't help further.

I'm not entirely certain of this but if I'm not mistaken you just flash it in USB flasher. It will wipe all of your data and you should make a backup of your apps/data in Titanium Backup first (I don't think restoring a CWM backup in 4EXT is completely safe). No matter what you decide to do, backup first. You know what, just backup your data for the hell of it Seriously though, backup.

I must be honest,I never backed up data or anything. I never use many apps so when it comes to that, I just do a fresh install. My question was will the flashing of 4ext recovery wipe my current rom, just to know. If it does, what the hell, I'll flash it again
sent from my Slim V1 HD2 using Tapatalk 2

Yeah it will wipe your ROM. You'll have to flash the ROM again (*cough* backup *cough*) but that's all you'll have to flash so it's not like a Task29 or anything.

Not sure if I missed it, but on the navigation bar I can see the screen off button but I don't see the power menu option . Is there such one for this Rom?

So,I go to USB Flasher, connect my phone to my pc, run DAF.exe and run it and that's it?
Afterwards I need to flash rom again, and I go to recovery same way I did with CWM, from Magldr menu, right?
Just wanted to check before I do it, to be sure something doesn't go wrong.

Exactly. I'm not sure how you edit the size of the /system partition when you flash 4EXT but hopefully that'll be clear when you do it. If not, you can obviously post here since this is a Q&T thread and someone who's used it is bound to help. Other than that, what you outlined is entirely correct so good luck flashing.

[Guide][Updated]What is HSPL, MAGLDR, cLK, and CWM, and how to install them.?

What is HSPL, MAGLDR , cLK, and Clock Work Mod Recovery and how do you use them?
First off I want to take time to thank XDA senior members Cotulla and Bepe and the whole Dark Forces Team for creating HSPL and MAGLDR. Also I want to thank XDA senior member Cedesmith for his cLK bootloader for Android and XDA senior member RaiderX303 for creating Clock Work Mod Recovery . With out these programs for the HD2 it would never have reached the legendary status it has reached.
This is not a guide on how to install/flash a NAND Android ROM or how to install/flash Windows Phone 7 on the HTC HD2. This guide is meant to help educate people on what these tools are, what their function is, and how to install them on the HTC HD2.
If you are looking for a guide on how to install a NAND Android ROM on the HTC HD2 then go here or here for NAND Android guides. For a guide on how to install Windows Phone 7 on the HTC HD2 go here. Thanks to senior XDA member MSkip, junior member Gunjahman, and member Omarza for the guide. Thanks to senior member Darrengladysz for the dual booting WP7 and Android guide that is linked in descriptiion of option #2 of MAGLDR. Thanks to senior member MysticGenuis for the MTTY guide I linked in option #6 of MAGLDR.
Edit, I added radio info and a warning to TMOUS users at the bottom of post #3. Also be sure to checkout the all in one flashing/installing tool by XDA Recognized Developer ksubedi.
HD2 NAND Toolkit
Also check out XDA Senior Member kevin134's Step by step toolkit for NANDroid.
Easy Android
HSPL what is that and why do I need it?
On the HD2 it comes stock with what is called SPL which stands for Secondary Program Loader. SPL is paired with the IPL(Initial Program Loader) to make the bootloader of the HD2 and other smartphones and PDA devices. The bootloader is the first thing to load up on your HD2 when it is turned on. It boots up the device hardware and other things into memory before the ROM starts. The bootloader also allows the flashing of a new ROM, splash screens, and radio versions to the device. The SPL and IPL that make up the bootloader are much like the BIOS of your computer and can be modified.
With that being said HSPL stands for Hard Secondary Program Loader. HSPL is a modified bootloader that disables the CID check that is run at the start of a ROM flash so you can flash official ROMs without having to use a Gold Card. It also disables the NBH signature check that is run when you flash a ROM so you can flash a unsigned /custom ROM image or any other unsigned NBH file like MAGLDR or cLK. HSPL does not get over written like SPL does when flashing a signed NBH that contains a SPL via RUU. This translates to HSPL does not get over written when you flash a official ROM via USB. HSPL makes flashing a little safer too as it reduces the chances of bricking your HD2 by flashing the wrong SPL version. It does not help protect against bricking a HD2 from flashing a wrong radio version.
Important!
If you have a TMOUS HTC HD2 you only flash HSPL 2.08 or 3.03 to your HD2. If you have a international HTC HD2 with 448MB of ram and want to flash a 3.14 based Windows Mobile ROM. You need to flash HSPL 3.03 as 3.14 ROMs on a international HTC HD2 require SPL 3.03.0000 or HSPL 3.03 are you will have problems with your HD2 not functioning properly Plus it is one of the two requirements to unlocking the extra RAM for your HD2, the other is a radio version 2.07.50.xx or up.
So that should help you understand what HSPL is and why you need it. My sources for this information is the [HSPL/HSPL2] HowTo flash everythingand the XDA Wiki glossary.
How to Flash HSPL to your HTC HD2
To install any SPL or HSPL there must be any SPL version from this list on your device:
SPL 1.42.0000
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000
SPL 2.10.0000
SPL 3.03.0000
Otherwise the installation will fail!
First go to here to download HSPL 4. I suggest HSPL 4 because it supports all SPL versions that are out right now including SPL 3.03.0000 and SPL 3.10.0000. Remember you can also use HSPL 4 to flash back to your original SPL. Once you have HSPL 4 downloaded use a zip program like WinZip, WinRar, or Win7 to extract the .exe file for the DFT installation utility to a location of your choosing on you computer. Take and put your HD2 manually into bootloader by holding the volume down button down while powering on your HD2. When you see the multicolor bootloader screen on your HD2 connect it to your computer via USB cable. If it is the first time you have connected it to your computer while in bootloader you will have to give it a minute or two for the drivers to install. When you see the Serial in the white bar of bootloader change to USB you have a HTC USB Sync connection between your HD2 and your computer. This is very important, make sure you have the latest ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center version (depending on what version of Windows your computer uses) installed on your computer as it has the updated USB drivers for the HTC USB Sync connection. Go to here to download these. When you see the USB in the white bar of bootloader right click on the HSPL 4 utility and select run as administrator. Follow the on screen instructions and select the desired HSPL version when it prompts you for what version you want to install. If you want to flash MAGLDR to install NAND Android or Windows Phone 7 you have to select 2.08 HSPL. When you see “We hacked it” on your HD2 screen you click yes on your computer in the box on the screen to confirm you see “We hacked it” then click close and you have flashed HSPL to your HTC HD2.
What is MAGLDR , why do I need it, and what does it do?
Ok so you want to know what MAGLDR is, well MAGLDR is a custom made bootloader that allows you to boot deferent OS’s directly from NAND. This bootloader was developed by the Dark Forces Team and is a closed source software that is still being developed but is free to use. MAGLDR is so much more than a bootloader though. It is disigned to work with both the T-Mobile HD2 and the EU HD2 there for it will unlock the hidden 128 MB of RAM for the EU HD2 when combined with a 2.07.50.xx or above radio. Also you have to have a 2.07.50.xx or higher radio or MAGLDR will not even boot up.
The MAGLDR bootloader boots up after or should I say in succession of the original bootloader on the HD2, so you still have the original bootloader on your HD2 and can still use it to reflash a Windows mobile ROM at anytime. To navigate through the options on the main menu you use the up and down volume buttons, the send button is the select button , and the end button is the back button. To boot into MAGLDR you have to keep the power button pressed down while your HD2 powers on. Also remember you can not charge your HD2 while in MAGLDR you have to boot into your ROM to charge your HD2, and then you can only charge your HD2 while it is powered on as long as MAGLDR is installed on it. The current version of MAGLDR is v1.13 and this is what is in the main menu of MAGLDR.

1. Boot WPH
2. Boot AD SD
3. Boot AD NAND
4. USB Mass Stg
5. USB Flasher
6. USB TTY
7. AD Hard reset
8. AD Recovery
9. Tetris
10. Services
11. Reset
12. Power Down
Ok now I know you are saying what is all those options for. Well let me start at the beginning here.
Option #1
Boot WPH, this is what you select if have a Windows Phone 7(WP7) ROM installed to NAND and you are booted up into MAGLDR but want to boot into your WP7 ROM.
Option #2
Boot AD SD, this allows you to boot into Android from SD card. You also use this to boot Android from SD card if you have WP7 ROM or a Android ROM in NAND.( Go to here for a tutorial on how to do this.) This option also allows you to boot other Android specific software such as Clock Work Mod Recovery(CWM) that you have placed specific files for on your SD card. This option is not really needed for CWM as you no longer have to place files for it on your SD card you can flash it straight to NAND.
Option #3
Boot AD NAND, this option allows you to boot into your NAND Android ROM you have flashed if you have booted into MAGLDR.
Option #4
USB Mass Stg, this option gives you the ability to use your SD card as a Mass Storage/Removable drive when you are booted up into MAGLDR and your HD2 is connected via USB cable to your computer. You use this option to transfer files from your computer to your SD card or from your SD card to your computer.
Option #5
USB Flasher, this option allows you to flash a ROM be it Android or WP7 to NAND , or any other program or software that requires a USB connection to install. You can not flash Windows Mobile, a new radio, or a splash screen to your HD2 using this option of MAGLDR, you have to use the original (SPL/HSPL) bootloader to do this. Connect to your computer via USB cable after you select this option to use it.
Option #6
USB TTY, this option puts MAGLDR into TTY mode which allows you the ability to ability to dump dmesg after crash and etc, but this option will be mainly for developers when it is up and running. Presently it is not functional just yet as it still requires drivers to be found or developed. It will also give you the abilities equivalent to MTTY or Task 29 when it is up and running. ( Maybe in the next versionJ)
Option #7
AD Hard reset, this option allows you to hard reset your Android ROM and erase android partitions with "hr" in the flags. Also allows you to hard reset it you are using a WP7 ROM. (Anyone that used Windows Mobile long enough knows what a hard reset is )
Option #8
AD Recovery, this option allows you to do a systems recovery just like native Android devices and allows you to boot into CWM which is even more like a native Android device.
Option #9
Tetris, oh yes that is right you can play Tetris while booted into MAGLDR. Hey everybody has to have some fun somehow, and everybody likes Tetris right. Get 111111 score to unlock hidden MAGLDR feature, and no I have not done it and I do not know what the hidden feature is. Got to love a dev that thinks of everything lol.
Option #10
Services, this option has 5 sub options with 2 of those having 3 sub options of their own. I will get into them shortly.
Option #11
Reset, this option works just lick the reset button under the battery cover of the HD2. It allows you to reboot your HD2 while you are booted into MAGLDR. If you want to boot back into MAGLDR you have to hold the power button down when your HD2 is powering back on. If you want to just boot up you installed ROM you do nothing but let your HD2 boot up.
Option #12
Power Down, this option is self explanatory. You choose this option to turn your HD2 off while booted into MAGLDR.
Ok so that has the main menu covered, now let me go over the sub option in Option #10 of the main menu. Here is what is in the sub menu of Services.
Services
1. Boot Settings
2. DMESG to SD
3. Dump UD to SD
4. Use Last 24 NAND
5. Clear SD MBR
Ok I will go in order here so lets look at option #1 Boot Settings.
Option #1 of Services Boot settings
1. Boot Source
2. Always Menu
3. AD SD Dir
Option #1
Boot Source allows you to choose what source you want MAGLDR to boot your ROM from as default when you power on your HD2. You can choose Android from SD, Android from NAND, or WPH from NAND. This option is set automatically when you flash a ROM to NAND depending on if it is Android or WP7. This is the option that tells MAGLDR what it is to boot at boot up if you do not hold the power button down while powering up your phone to access MAGLDR.
Option #2
Always Menu, this option allows you to let MAGLDR to boot up and then automatically boot your ROM you have installed or to let MAGLDR boot up every time and you manually boot the ROM with either option #1, #2, or #3 from the main menu. Just press the send button if you want MAGLDR to boot up every time or press the end button if you do not want MAGLDR to boot up to the main menu everytime you boot up your HD2.
Option #3
AD SD Dir, this option gives you access to view the directories and most files on your SD card if you have Android installed to NAND on your HD2. It also lets you choose the SD card Android build you want MAGLDR to boot if you are dual booting WP& and Android from SD card.
Option #2 of Services DMESG to SD
DMESG is a shell command for the ash shell that ADB provides to run commands on a emulator or device. The DMESG command tells MAGLDR to store debugging messages to the SD card. This is useful for developers. This is also still in development so use at your own risk.
Option #3 of Services Dump UD to SD
Ok I have done a very good bit of research on this option. I am still not 100% sure what this option is for but this is what I found about it. In the thread for MAGLDR it say.,
DumpUDtoSD" - dumps asize partition to SD card. BUGGY, SLOW and not tested. Don't use it.
Click to collapse
Now this does not say much to non-technically knowledgeable people. What I think this is for is to create a partition on the SD card for apps to SD for Android, or to create a partition on the SD card to be able to run Android from SD card. If I am wrong please someone let me know and I will change this.
Option #4 of Services Use Last 24 NAND
This option allows you to use the last 24 MB of NAND memory. Right now if you select this option you will lose it after a soft reset, this option is still experimental also.
Option #5 of Services Clear SD MBR
This option allows you to clear the MBR from your SD card. What is MBR you ask, MBR stands for Master Boot Record. MBR searches the partition table for the active partition, it then copies the active boot sector of that partition into memory and transfers control over to that program. The MBR runs whenever you boot your HD2.

How to flash MAGLDR to a HTC HD2
To flash MAGLDR to your HD2 , and this is very important, you must first have HSPL 2.08 flashed to your HD2 and you have to have a radio version 2.07.50.xx to 2.15.50.14. If you do not have HSPL 2.08 the flash will fail, and if you do not have radio version 2.15.50.14 or 2.14.50.02 MAGLDR will not show up on your HD2 even if it was sussefully flashed.. Download MAGLDR v1.13, when you extract the zip file it will create a folder named “MAGLDR113_DAF” so choose where you want to extract t the files to and let it extract the files. Next navigate to where you extracted the MAGLDR113_DAF to and open the file. Put your HD2 into bootloader by pressing and holding down the volume down button while powering on your HD2. Connect your HD2 to your computer via USB cable and wait until Serial in the white bar of the bootloader screen to change to USB then right click “RomUpdateUtility” that is in the MAGLDR113_DAF file and select run as administrator. Follow the instructions of the ROM update utility and when the progress bar on the computer screen and your HD2 reach 100% your computer will show in the ROM update utility it is finished click close on the ROM update utility box on your computer screen and you have MAGLDR on your HD2, your HD2 should automaticly reboot into MAGLDR. Also do not unplug your USB cable until your HD2 has rebooted itself.
Flash MAGLDR via SD Card
You can also flash MAGLDR via SD card just like you can a Windows Mobile ROM. Just open the MAGLDR113_DAF file and copy the magldr.nbh file to the root of your SD card. Once it is copied change the name of the file on your SD card to LEOIMG.nbh. Power off your HD2 and then reboot your HD2 keep the volume down button held down until you see searching on your HD2 screen then release. Follow the on-screen instructions and let it flash.
Note when you flash MAGLDR to your HD2 it wipes your current ROM from the HD2. So you will have a ROM less HD2 until you either flash a Android ROM or WP7 to your HD2. You can also reflash a Windows Mobile stock or custom ROM but this will remove MAGLDR from your HD2.
What is cLK and what does it do?
Well like MAGLDR, cedesmitjh's Little Kernel (cLK) is a custom bootloader for the HTC HD2. But unlike MAGLDR though, cLK just boots NAND Android ROMs for the HD2 not any other OS's or SD card builds. Also cLK is a open sourced project so anyone can help contribute to the on going development of it, unlike MAGLDR which is closed sourced. XDA senior member cedesmith originally created cLK but several great devs, such as arif-ali, have help get cLK to the stable and very usable bootloader it is now. If you would like to see who some of the other devs that or helping develop cLK go the cLK thread and read the short cridets list at the bottom of post #1. You will have to read through the thread though to see just how many devs and exactly what devs have been involved with cLK.
With cLK the HD2 has the ability to be pretty much just like a native Android device. You do not see it boot up while powering on the HD2. You can use Andriod SDK fastboot commands on the HD2 with cLK just like a native Android device. You can also use ROM Manager (can be found in the Android Market) with cLK too. With ROM manager it works hand and hand with CWM so you truly no longer need a computer to download and change ROMs, change Kernels, make and manage Nandroid backups, check for ROM updates, and even flash upated versions of CWM all from within your Android ROM. It also lets you boot straight into recovery. Last but not least cLK supports charging while the HD2 is powered off (MAGLDR ) so you don't have to worry about your battery dieing and you having to buy a external charger, borrow a friends HD2, or take more drastic measures (mutilate a USB cable) to charge your battery enough to boot your HD2.
With cLK it runs in sussesion of the original SPL bootloader so you can easily revert back to Windows Mobile 6.5, flash a new radio, flash a new splash screen, or even flash MAGLDR.
I have found no evidence that cLK can help unlock the extra 128MB of RAM on the EU HD2's. So all you EU HD2 users you will only have 448MB of RAM when using cLK. Also it is not a restiction on the HSPL or radio version you can use with cLK, but I still suggest HSPL 2.08, HSPL3.03, and radio 2.07.50.xx or higher just to be safe.
To access cLK after you have installed a Android ROM, while powering on your HD2 you have to hold down any key except the power key to get the console to come up. You hold down the home key to boot to recovery while powering on. And you hold down the back key to put your HD2 into fastboot mode so you can enter fastboot commands from your computer.

How to install cLK
Just like all other custom software for the HD2 you need HSPL flashed to your HD2, I suggest HSPL 2.08 or HSPL 3.03. I also suggest you have a radio version 2.07.50.xx or higher, this is not required as far as I know but it could not hurt. Now to install cLk you need to go to the cLK thread and download "cLK_1.3.3_system_150M_cedesmith.zip" from the bottom of post #3 of the thread, or if you want the most up to date version go to post #1395 and download "cLK_1.4.0.1_layouts_arif.zip" Next you will need go to post #844 of the thread and download the "CustomRUU.zip" file. Next creat a folder named cLk or whatever you want to name it and extract the files from both the zip files the folder you created. I have a attached zip file at the bottom of this post if this is too complicated for you, but I hope is not as this is the easy part of cLK. Next put your HD2 into bootloader by holding the volume button down while powering on your HD2. Connect your HD2 to your computer via USB cable and wait for the Serial in the white bar of bootloader to change to USB. Then open the file you created and right click on the Custom RUU and select run as administrator. Follow the on screen instructions and when your HD2 reboots click finished on your computer and you have flashed cLK. Go to post #3 "How to install CWM using cLK" of this thread to learn how to flash CWM to your HD2 now.
Video thanks to XDA Senior Member 96edwy
Edit. I attached several cLK v1.4.0.1 files with rar files with the custom RUU included with them at the bottom of post #2. I have a 100MB partion, a 150MB partion, a 200MB partion, a 260MB patition, a 300MB partion, a 360MB partition, and a 400MB partition. But you can download the 1.4.0.1 cLK and combine any of the included .nbh files with the custom RUU to flash cLK v1.4.0.1 just chose the partition size you need. It has .nbh files with 80Mb partitions all the way up to 400MB partitions. I just made rar files with the most common ones to make it easier on people. I also left the cLK 1.3.3 with custom RUU.zip for anyone that wants to use it, it is a 150MB partition.
Flashing cLK via SD cardThis works best on 8GB SD cards or lower formated with Fat 32. Go to the cLK thread and download the "cLK_1.3.3_system_150_cedesmith.zip" file from the bottom of post #3 of the thread. Extract the files from the zip file to a location you can find. Then copy the RUU_signed.nbh file to the root of your SD card and then rename it to LEOIMG.nbh. Then insert your SD card into your HD2, if you used a SD card reader to transfer the file to your SD card. Power on your HD2 while holding the volume down button down until you see searching on your HD2's screen and release the volume button. Follow the on screen instructions to finish flashing cLK. Go to the post #3 "How to install CWM using cLK" of this thread to learn how to flash CWM to your HD2 now.
The rest of the guide.
What is Clockwork Mod Recovery, and how do I use it?
Clock Work Mod Recovery is a little program that allows us HD2 owners to flash Android ROMs via SD card (the Android way) and not just by using the USB Flasher option #5 in MAGLDR. CWM is a custom recovery for native Android devices . (Would the HD2 have it any other way?)For those of you that have had a native Android device may have experienced using CWM before and will be familiar with it. CWM allows those out there that want to run Android ROMs on their HD2 the ability to apply updates via SD card, format petitions of the NAND memory, install Android ROMs via SD card, install kernels in .zip format via SD card (any .zip as long as it is recovery flashable zip format) create Nandroid backups, restore their HD2 with Nandroid backup, allows you to go into recovery mode just like a native Android device, and allows you to do a factory reset of your HD2. The reset is just for the Android ROM it will not reinstall Windows Mobile to your HD2. To navigate CWM use the up and down volume buttons to scroll up and down, use the send button to select an option, and the back arrow button to go back out of a sub menu and back to the main menu.
This is the main menu of CWM v3.0.0.5
-reboot system
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-power off

Ok so what is all of that you say?
Reboot system
This option will let you reboot your HD2 from CWM. Highlight this option and press the send button and your HD2 will reboot.
Apply update from SD card
This option allows you the ability to install updates via your SD card, install kernels, install ROMs, themes, appa etc. You simply copy the update.zip file to the root of your SD card (it has to be named update.zip) using option #4 USB Flasher in MAGLDR or the mount and storage option in CWM. Then scroll down to highlight this option in the main menu of CWM and press the send button. This bringsnup a confirmation screen, scoll down and highlight Yes -- Install/sdcard/update.zip press the send button and it will install the update.
Wipe data/factory reset
This option allows you to wipe all user data from your HD2 effectively resetting your HD2 to the way it was when you istalled the Android ROM on it. It also wipes any sd.ext partition. Select this option and then scroll down to Yes -- delete all user data and press the send button this will reset your HD2. Make sure you make a Nandroid back up using the backup and restore option of CWM before doing this as this is not reversible.
Wipe cache partition
This option allows you to clean the cache partition of your HD2. It is a good idea to use this befor you install a ROM, kernel, or any custom mod to your HD2. Scroll down to highlight this option press the send button, then scroll down to highlight Yes – Wipe Cache press send button and it will wipe your cache.
Install zip from SD.
This option has four sub menu options in it, I will cover them shortly. They are the following.
-apply/sdcard/update.zip
-choose zip from sdcard
-toggle signature verification
-toggle script asserts
Backup and restore
This option has three sub menu options in it, again I will cover them shortly. They are as follows.
-Backup
-Restore
-Advanced Restore
Mounts and storage
This option has 12 sub menu options in it, all of these options are pretty much self explanatory. All the mount options simply allow you to mount or unmount the respective partition. All the format options do just that allows you to format the respective portitions. Warning if you use any of these options it will be a total wipe of that partition therefore if you choose format system it will leave you with no ROM and format boot in a native Android device would leave you with no bootloader and will brick a native Android device if a bootloader is not reinstalled before reboot. We HD2 users have to use MGLDR or cLK to boot Android, but we also still have our original bootloader too. The last option allows you to transfer data to or from your SD card via USB connection, if it is the first time you use it you will have to let the drivers load and it should show up in Devices and Printers on your computer as Android Phone. You can also view the contents of your SD card this way. Here is how the options look. To select any of these options just scroll to it to highlight the option and press the send button, for the format options you will have to select Yes – Format but remember these are not reversible once done, and last for the mount USB option you will have to connect your HD2 via USB cable and remember to press send to unmounts your card before unplugging your USB cable
-mount/data
-mount/cache
-mount/sdcard
-mount/sd-ext
-format boot
-format system
-format cache
-format sdcard
-format sd-ext
-mount USB storage
Advanced
This option has eight sub menu option in it, again I will cover these shortly. They are as follows
-Reboot Recovery
-wipe Dalvik Cache
-Report Error
-Key Test
-Partition SD Card
-Fix Permissions
Ok that gives you a good overview of the main menu in CWM. Now let us look at all the sub menus minus the mounts and storage sub menu of course.
Install zip from SD card
-apply/sdcard/update.zip
This does the same as the apply update from sdcard option in main menu of CWM and you follow the same directions as it after you highlight and press the send button to select it.
-choose zip from sdcard
This option allows you to flash your Android ROM via SD card, kernels, apps, you name it as long as it is in the recovery flashable zip formate. You simple copy the .zip file to the root of your SD card using option #4 USB Mass Stg of MAGLDR or mounts and storage option in CWM. Boot into MAGLDR then boot CWM via option #2 Boot AD SD or option #8 AD Recovery of MAGLDR depending on the way you installed CWM. Then scroll down to highlight install zip from sdcard in the main menu press the send button to select it, then scroll down to choose zip from sdcard to high light it and press the send button to select it, then scroll through the contents of yout SD card until you highlight the zip file for your ROM and press the send button and it will flash the ROM to your HD2.
Toggle signature verification
This option does just that, it allows you to toggle signature verification on or off depending on what it says in the highlighted area when you press the send button to select it. This is for allowing custom ROMs and other custom or nonofficial software on native android devices but really has no use in the HD2 as it is not a native Android device and has no official ROM so every ROM is a custom ROM and any Android related software installed to it is unofficial.. To use this just press the send button to toggle it on and again to toggle it off while you are on the screen for this option as it will be the only highlighted option. Just to be safe I would not turn the verification on, who knows what it might do lol.
Toggle script asserts
This option does just that, it toggles script asserts on and off depending on what it says in the highlighted area when you press the send button to select it. Script asserts is a way for the ROM package to check values if you will while it is being flashed if the values of the compared components do not match then the installation will halt and give an error message. So this is something mostly for devs to use I suggest if you are not a dev just leave this alone. To use this just press the send button to toggle it on and again to toggle it off while you are on the screen for this option as it will be the only highlighted option.
Backup and restore
Backup
This option allows you to make a Nandroid Backup of your HD2. It creates a backup for boot, system, data, cache, and sd-ext partitions. You can use this Nandroid backup to restore your settings and user information and the such, pretty much everything you will need to make the phone just like you had it before you had to reset it or flashed a new ROM. To make a backup boot into MAGLDR and choose option #2 Boot AD SD or option #8 AD Recovery in MAGLDR, which ever one you have to use depending on the way you installed CWM, and boot into CWM. Next scroll down to backup and restore to highlight it and press the send button to select it, press the send button again as backup will be the default option highlighted and let your phone complete making a backup file. The backup file is stored on your SD card.
Restore
This option allows you to restore all of your personal information and settings using a Nandroid backup file you made by using the backup option above. This restore does a complete restore of all boot, system, data, cache and sd-ext partitions. This translate into you having the same phone you had before you reset the phone or flashed a new ROM. To do a restore boot into MAGLDR and choose option #2 Boot AD SD or option #8 AD Recovery in MAGLDR, which ever one you have to use depending on the way you installed CWM, and boot into CWM. Next scroll down to backup and restore to highlight it and press the send button to select it, then scroll down to restore to highlight it and press the send button to select it. Then highlight the backup you want to use if you have more than one backup file on your SD card and press the send button to select it and the phone will then restore your settings and information to the phone. (Note if you are restoring to a new/different ROM do not use this option, go to advance restore and only restore the data and cache, as if you restore the boot and system you will just have the same ROM again as boot restores your Lenuix kernel and system restors your ROM.)
Advanced Restore
This option allows you to restore just like regular restore but it could be call selective recovery as it lets you choose which part of the backup you want to use to backup your settings and information from. Example if you want to just use the cache partition and the data partition files from the backup Advanced Restore will allow you to do this. To use Advanced Restore boot into MAGLDR and choose option #2 Boot AD SD or option #8 AD Recovery in MAGLDR, which ever one you have to use depending on the way you installed CWM, and boot into CWM. Next scroll down to backup and restore to highlight it and press the send button to select it, then scroll down to Advanced Restore to highlight it and press the send button to select it. Then scroll to highlight the partition you want to use to backup with and press the send button to select it. The phone will restore only the files that were in that partition. If you want to use more than just one partition you will have to navigate back to Advanced Restore from the main menu of CWM as when the restore is complete it will go back to the main menu of CWM.
Data restores your personal information.
Cache restores your settings and any other cached information.
System restores your ROM. ( So do not restore this if you changing ROMs)
Boot restores your Lenuix kernel . (So do not restore this if you are changing ROMs)
Advanced
Reboot Recovery
This option simple just reboots your phone from CWM. In native Android devices this would take reboot you straight back into Recovery but being as the HD2 has to boot into bootloader then MAGLDR it can not do this. (We HD2 owners are still crossing our fingers though) Press the send button to select it as it is the default highlighted option when you go to Advanced.
Wipe Dalvik Cache
This option allows you to clear the Delvik cache on your phone. Dalvick cache is a cache area for a program named Delvik. This program is a java based virtual machine. This program is the bases for running programs with the .apk extension. The cache is a result of the optimization of running programs. It is recommended to wipe this cache any time you are going to flash a new ROM as you might encounter issues if you don’t. It is not advised to wipe this cache any other time as it might might make your system sluggish or buggy until it rebuilds the cache.
Wipe Battery Stats
This option allows you to clear your battery stats in/data, it is believed that if you fully charge your battery to 100% then wipe your battery stats and drain your battery completely down, then completely charge it to 100% again it recalibrates your battery and helps battery life. To do this just scroll down while in advanced sub menu to Wipe Battery Stats to highlight it and press the send button to select it.
Report Error
This Option allows you to create and save a log of CWM’s operations to your SD card that can be used with Android ROM manager. Highlight this option and press the send button to create the log.
Key Test
This option allows you to test the external hardware buttons (keys). Highlight this option and press the send button to select it. Once selected you can press all the hardware keys and get the corresponding value for it. After all the keys have been press you will return to the main menu of CWM. YOU should get these values.
Up volume button=Key:115
Down volume button=Key:114
Send button=231
Home button=Key:102
Windows Start button=Key:139
Back button=Key:158
End button=Key:107
Partition SD
This option allows you to be able to petition your SD card so you can take advantage of ROMs that support data2ext which allows you to use some of your SD card as the /data partition. This is internal data that contains user information. Warning using this option will wipe all data and contents of your SD card, so make a backup copy of it before you use this option. To use this option highlight it and press the send button and a list of Partition sizes will come up just choose the appropriate partition size for you. Here is a list of the partition sizes.
Ext Size -128M -256M -512M -1024 -2048 -4096
Fix Permissions
This option allows you to fix the file permissions for internal memory partitions. This is useful if your HD2 starts to give errors and force closes, as these are sometimes caused by apps that have root access. Just highlight this option and that’s right you guessed it press the send button to select it lol.
This concludes the run down off Clock Work Mod Recovery for the HTC HD2. Here is my sources for this information. [01 FEB][RECOVERY] ClockworkMod Recovery for HD2 - v1.3, update-script syntax - A guide for ROM devs, modders, and themers, Android forums, wipe battery and rotate stats, What Is ClockworkMod Recovery And How To Use It On Android [Complete Guide], and last but not least Google.
How to install Clock Work Mod Recovery to your HTC HD2 using MAGLDR

To install CWM to your HD2 you must first have HSPL 2.08 installed and MAGLDR installed on your HD2. See the above to install both. There is two ways to install CWM to your HD2. I will give instructions on both.
New WAY
Download the appropriate partition size recovery.zip file , check the first post by the ROM dev in the ROM thread for their suggested partition size. Go the CWM thread to download and see more instructions on how to install. Once you have the .zip file downloaded extract the contents of the zip file to the location and folder of your choosing. Next power on your HD2 but keep the power button pressed down to enter MAGLDR. Scroll down to option #5 USB flasher and connect it via USB cable to your computer. Give it a minute to install any drivers necessary and then right click on the DAF in the folder you extracted the files to and click on run as administrator. Let the progress bar on your computer and HD2 complete to 100% then click close on the last window of the installer. Your HD2 will automatically reboot it’s self but hold down the power button as it boots back up to bring up MAGLDR again. Scroll down to AD Recovery and press the send button and CWM will boot.
Old Way
Download the appropriate partition size .zip file for SD boot, check the first post by the ROM dev in the ROM thread for their suggested partition size. Go the CWM thread to download and see more instructions on how to install. Once you have the .zip file downloaded extract the contents of the zip file to the location and folder of your choosing. Next power on your HD2 but keep the power button pressed down to enter MAGLDR. Scroll down to option #4 USB Mass Stg and connect it via USB cable to your computer. Give it a minute to install any drivers necessary and then open the file you extracted the files to. Open the file copy_to_sd_root and then copy both initrd.gz and zImage to the root of your SD card. Scroll to opyion #2 Boot AD SD and press the select button to select it. This will boot CWM
How to install CWM using cLK
To install CWM after you have flashed cLK to your HD2 you have to download and installJava JDK (needed for the Android SDK) and Andriod SDK. After Android SDK installs a couple of windows will pop up. Look for the one that says "Choose Packages to Instal", you only have to accept "Android SDK-Tools"and "Google USB Drivers", but you can accept more if you want. When the packages are done installing open "Environment Variables". To do this go to Start\right click on computer\ Properties\Advanced System Settings\ Environment Variables. In the lower section of the Environment Variables window scroll to "Path" and then click edit. In the "Variable Value" text box go all the way to the end of the text and type in, C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools;.You have to include the semicolon at the end of it. Click ok on the "Edit System variables", "Environment Variables", and" Advanced System Settings" windows so you changes will be saved. Next go to post #355 of the cLK thread and download the "cLK_recovery_1.3.3_3.0.1.9.zip" file. Extract the files from this file to the tools folder in Crograqm Files\Android\android-sdk\tools. Now navigate to the that location and hold down the Shift button and right click anywhere in the window and select "Open Command Window Here" and a command window should open with that directory in it already. Now connect your HD2 via USB cable to your computer. If the USB drivers do not auto install, then go to Start\Control Panel\Device Manager and right click on "Android" and select update drivers. Then choose "Browse my computer for driver software". Navigate to the Crogram Files\Android\android-sdk\extra\google\usb_drivers then click ok then click install. When the drivers are installed you should see "fasttboot processing commands" on your HD2 screen, if you don't the drivers are not installed. Next you need to type in these commands in the command window.

fastboot erase recovery And press enter
You should get a comfirmation a time elasped. Next type the following.
fastboot flash recovery clk_recovery_1.3.3_3.0.1.9.img And press enter
You should get another comfirmation and time elasped. Next type the following .
fastboot reboot This will reboot your HD2, hold down the home key to go to CWM
Now you can flash a Android ROM using CWM. Hint do not do a restore with a Nandroid backup that was made using a MAGLDR ROM as oit will cause issues. Also if you want to flash a updated CWM version download ROM Manager from the Android Market and use it to flash the updated CWM.
Thanks to XDA senior member Newman180 for his guide.
If you are getting a error saying your computer can not find or does not have a AdbWinApi.dll file then go to post #45 of this thread by XDA member Falkenbat.
Updated version of clk with CWM built in
If you are having trouble installing Clockwork Mod Recovery via fastboot commands, or if you just want the most recent version of clk. Then go and check out the most recent version posted in the thread XDA Recognized Developer Rick_1995. i this version of clk CWM is built into clk and is flashed to your HD2 when you flash clk. Plus it has a added Hboot screen so the HD2 has a clk interface that is just like the bootloader inteface that a HTC device that runs Android natively has. He also gives a pretty good break down on the differences of MAGLDR and clk.
Radio info
It was mentioned that I a should add some information on radios so here it is. I did a good bit of searching and could only find basic info on the radios. Basically as it says in the, "The HTC HD2 Master Radio Thread" the radio is software that controls the radio interfaces for your HD2 and other devices. These interfaces include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS,GPRS, GSM, UMTS and even the new LTE and WiMax being rolled out. So you see how the radio can help or hinder your reception depending on how old are new your radio version is and where you live in the world. The radio also has some control over the camera function as well, exactly how it does I do not know so please do not ask. check my sources and you will see what I mean. I will add more to this if I can find the information. The international HD2s with 448 MB of ram can flash pretty much any radio version but don't just take my word for it do your own research as a wrong radio will brick your phone. Also the international HD2s have to have a 2.08.50.xx radio or highe for them to unlock the extra ram of 576 MB. (Thanks to XDA senior member Kholk for the master radio thread., and senior member samsamuel for the info about unlocking the extra ram!)
Warning to all TMOUS HD2 owners you can not flash a 2.04,50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any x.xx.51.xx version radio to your HD2.This includes radio ROM verision that are included in a ROM. These radio versions will brick/ KILL a TMOUS HD2!!!!!
Sources for this info are "The HTC HD2 Master Radio Thread" and the XDA wiki.
This is the end of my Guide, I hope this is helpful to people Peace to all. Don’t forget the thanks button.

Thanks glad you liked it and that is the reason I wrote it was to try and help out HD2 users and maybe even a few Android users as to what all CWM is and what you can do with it.

I added some radio information to the bottom of post #3 or at least what information I could find on radios.
And this is a shameless bump.
Ah thanks. I asked for it so the guide would be informative in all areas. But like all guides it'll prolly get ignored by most noobs, due to the "feeling that they are being overwhelmed by the information"... -_-"
For those who do read it they'll be grateful so that they don't "accidentally" brick their device.
Good job btw. ^-^ Oh btw, in the radio info you have ram instead of rom, beside the 1024 part.

Thanks so much for all this information, Although I have been building and hacking computers for almost 30 years, I still have a lot to learn before I attempt to do similar on my HTC HD2

Hi,
Great first post.
People should pay attention to your wise words.

Can't change from WP7 to android

Hey guys, I have been goosechasing all over the internet for the past 6 hours trying to figure out how to fix this issue, but due to the fact that files are taken down here and there, and guides are out dated, I have gotten nowhere. I can't flash the MIUI 2.2.10 rom to my HD2. Here are the steps I've taken:
1. Downloaded MAGLDR 1.13, Stock WinMo 6.5 rom from T-Mobiles website, downloaded all sort of HD2 recoveries, and lastly the MIUI rom
2. Flashed back to WinMo 6.5 through executing the "T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_3.14.531.1.exe" which is the stock rom through MAGLDR
3. Was not able to boot into MAGLDR WinMo 6.5 booted up. I held down the Power Button all the way through the boot, nothing. Tried several times, and then I flashed MAGLDR again. This gave me the error: "SD Kernel Open Failed" or something to that effect, but then it booted into MAGLDR. I decided to continue the next step of

Question: Which section you are original from, wm6, android nand, android sd or wp7? Installed wm6 rom correctly!
- Flash Stock WinMo 6.5 build
- Install HSP 2.08
- Task 29 & Radio 2.15.50...
- Install Magldr
- Partition your NAND (with HD2 toolkit or with the DAF.exe included in the recovery files)
- Boot into CWM and install zip from sd card
I missed any mention of HSPL in your previous comments, but the above stated should work just fine.
Remember that you have to rework your sd card, as far as I know WP7 does strange things to the sd card, so you would have to revert that as well.
Never used WP7 on my phone, but I don´t see why the above mentioned procedure shouldn´t work, the links to some of the files needed are in my signature.
When you do get into MAGLDR.
1.) Go to USB flasher and flash the CWM.. (Clockwork Recovery Mod) (you might want to right click DAF.exe and run as administrator)
2.) After reboot the phone should go into MAGLDR and thereafter scroll to option AD recovery and press "call"
3.) You have entered CWM. Now, format your SD card and then mount your SD card.
4.) Copy the MiUI zip file from computer to phone..
5.) Go to install Zip from sd card and install MIUI.
You're done..

I'm not being sarcastic or anything but ...
Why are you posting this in the development forum?
Why are you even posting it in the WP7 section while your question is totally concerning Android? (because you were on WM6.5)
Why were you trying to mount /system or /cache ? you don't have a rom installed yet !
From the CWM menu, select "install zip from sdcard" and choose your MIUI-rom.zip file and select yes, and now it will flash your rom. Make sure you have had the correct partitions set beforehand .

I posted because i need an answer ASAP and that was the forum with the most recent active posts. Sorry, I'm in the wrong on that one. I flashed the rom and everything, but then it just reboots back into CWM everytime, it won't boot into the room, more specifically, it boots into MAGLDR which automatically boots into CWM. I have HSPL 2.08 installed already. I haven't repartitioned anything. How do i do that?

I tried DAF.exe and it doesn't recognize my HD2, then gives me the error I mentioned in the OP, even after running as administrator.
I can't beleive that senior member act like tootal noob. What do you think that this forum is? Online support? Bump whenever you want and expect answer in a minute? Will you pay somebody for the answer? Let me remind you that people here DISCUSS about HTC HD2 Windows Phone 7 Development, so please delete your useless topic and go bother somebody else!
Maybe try unchecking allow USB connections from active sync..

I thought that after some of the things I did for this community, I might be able to get immediate help in my time of need. Do you mind pointing me to the nearest direction of "Bricked HD2 online support"? I already said I was in the wrong for posting the question here, but you fail to understand that without my phone, I can't do my job and support myself. Troll harder next time.

Guys, give the guy a break. He's already admitted that he was wrong.
Back on topic, I recommend using the HD2 toolkit by ksubedi (Thanks to him)
Just follow this guide written by me : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16528026&postcount=7 (Very short and straight-to-the-point with no blabber guide)
Modify step 8 with the rom you are to install as well as step 10 with the required partition size (can be obtained from the thread of your rom).
Good luck.

How to Dual Boot your galaxy S2

OK so i know a lot of members are intrested in Dual booting their galaxy S2, so i have decided to complice a list of all the dual boot options i can find and have found. I have found two ways as it stands now, but my search has not been that deep yet, so here are the two ways for now and i hope to add more to the list soon.
SGS2 Dual-Boot Setup (LolBoot) - Ok so the first is an app by Hellcatdroid that you can download from Google Play. It only supports GB roms for now, but their is hope that he will put his PSvita down and continue to work on this great app.

Thread
Google Play
SiyahKernel v3.1beta1 Kernel - So option 2 is a kernel from Gokhanmoral, the kernel is stable but the dual boot side is still in beta. This dual boot kernel is working with ICS roms (not GB), Gokhanmoral has tried a dual boot on stock and cm9 and this combo is working, he is pretty sure it will work with MUIU roms. The members on this thread will start to tell of other working combos they have tried, so give this one a go it is looking very good.

Here is a guide thanks to Phistachio on how to dual boot using Siyah Kernel
[GUIDE] How to Dual Boot using the Siyah Kernel
Here is a fantastic guide, FAQ writen by droidphile for the use with Siyah kernel, it is a fantastic FAQ, so if you use it please go and thank him here -
Dual Booting FAQs
Here are some dual-boot faqs. Some answers may not be 100% true at present since Gokhan is still working on enhancing dual-booting and implementing all the placeholder features in touch recovery dual boot options.
1) So what's dual booting?
A. Option to boot into either two ICS roms - aosp or sammy. Immediately after boot logo is displayed, you will have a 3 seconds time-out where you can boot into secondary rom by pressing the home key. To boot into primary rom, wait for 3 seconds time-out to complete. If you don't like to wait - touch the screen, or press a volume key, or press power key during time-out.
2) What's the basic architecture behind dual booting?
A. Any rom will have /system, /data, /cache partitions and requires a kernel to boot. Primary rom has all these partitions on the same location as if you were single-booting. Secondary rom uses a hidden partition (/dev/block/mmcblk0p9) to be used as /system (it's /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 for primary rom). Second rom uses sdcard to store /data and /cache partitions. They're stored in /sdcard/.secondrom directory as mountable ext4 block device images (data.img and cache.img).
Kernel partition is shared, so same kernel boots both the roms. If you switch from Siyah to a different kernel dual booting will not be available even though you have a clone of secondary rom. Internal sdcard, ofcourse external plastic sdcard, /efs, /emmc, other kernel related virtual filesystem directories, etc are shared among roms.
3) I have just one rom now. How do i setup one more rom to dual boot?
A.
-To use current rom as primary: Assuming the other rom is downloaded and copied to phone memory
i) Flash latest Siyah that supports dual boot.
ii) Nandroid backup your existing rom.
iii) Full wipe, install the rom you need to dual boot into.
iv) Boot into that rom, perform initial setups, flash whatever zip you need to flash on that rom - gapps, themes, mods, etc. (Because after setting up dual boot you don't have an easy way to flash zips onto second rom. Remember /system and /data partitions are different for both roms)
v) Flash latest siyah on this rom.
vi) Boot into recovery, under dual-boot options, select "Clone Primary ROM to Secondary". Be patient and wait about 6-7 minutes.
vii) Within recovery, restore nandroid backup.
viii) Just to be sure, flash latest Siyah again.
-To use current rom as secondary: Assuming the other rom is downloaded and copied to phone memory
i) Flash latest Siyah that supports dual boot.
ii) Boot into recovery, under dual-boot options, select "Clone Primary ROM to Secondary".
ii) Without exiting recovery, Full wipe, install the rom you need to use as primary rom.
iii) Boot into that rom, perform initial setups.
iv) Flash latest Siyah just to be sure.
Now you have two roms. Press home key to boot into second rom when time-out is shown.
4) How much time was it to clone a rom?
A. There's /system, /data/ and /cache to clone. 2 GB data + 103mb cache + 513 mb system = 2.6 gb
Shell prompt read speed = 7mb per second.
Total Time = 2.6*(1024/7) = 380 secs = 6/7 minutes.
5) If i reboot to recovery from power-off state using 3 button method, to which rom's recovery it's booted into?
A. Unified kernel, same recovery. And remember - flashing zips to second rom is not possible.
6) Any solution to flashing zips to secondary rom?
A. Not until secondary rom is "converted" to primary rom. If you know what the updater script in the zip is doing, you can do that manually using Root Explorer (replacing/copy files, setting permissions, etc).
Else, temporarily make secondary rom the primary rom. Goto recovery, dual-boot options, "Clone Secondary Rom to Primary". Now your second rom becomes primary rom. Flash your zips. When you're done, restore nandroid backup of the other rom to make it primary as before.
7) Should i have same versions of kernels on both roms?
A. Flash kernel from any rom. Both uses the same kernel partition anyway.
8) Will i get a prompt to dual-boot if i'm not using dual boot, as in i haven't cloned any rom to use as secondary?
A. NO
9) I don't like waiting for 3 seconds to boot into primary rom.
A. Touch the screen immediately upon prompt.
10) How do i swap primary and secondary roms?
A. Goto recovery, dual-boot options, "Backup secondary rom"
Under original Backup and Restore option, "Backup" to backup your primary rom.
"Restore as secondary rom" or "Restore as secondary rom from internal sd" and select the nandroid backup of what was actually your primary rom.
Then under original Backup and Restore option, "Restore" to restore the rom you backed up as secondary.
11) USB mass storage works?
A. Only external sd is mounted for second rom atm. MTP will work for internal sd also. Both will be mounted for primary rom.
12) If i had the same /data partition shared between roms, i could use same apps on both roms.
A. Data partition can not be shared as they're incompatible between roms. (Sometimes dev asks you to perform full wipe even if you're switching between versions of the same rom right). Even if they were shared, separate dalvik caches has to be used and hence every boot will take a long time to rebuild dalvik.
13) How to undo dual booting?
A. Use "Remove secondary rom" from dual-boot options in recovery.
14) How to remove secondary rom if "remove secondary rom in recovery" fails for some reason?
A. Format /system2 directory partition, remove data.img and cache.img under /sdcard/.secondrom directory manually by booting into primary rom.
15) How to upgrade primary rom?
A. As usual, goto recovery, wipe whatever you need to wipe and install the new version.
16) How to upgrade secondary rom?
A. Temporarily convert secondary rom to primary (like explained above), install new version and revert primary back to secondary.
17) How to replace secondary rom with another?
A. Perform the steps to setup dual boot as if you had only one rom which is going to be used as primary rom.
18) How to replace primary rom with another?
A. Normal procedure - wipe, install from recovery.
19) Can i have both aosp roms/both samsung roms/first aosp, second samsung/first samsung,second aosp?
A. Yes
20) Can i have one GB rom and second ICS rom?
A. No
21) Why?
A. Kernel partition is shared between roms. Dual boot functionality is implemented in ICS kernel. ICS kernel can run only ICS roms.
22) Are init.d scripts and extweaks profiles shared across the roms so that i can make changes by booting into any rom and the other rom automatically inherits the settings?
A. NO. Roms have differet /system partitions so different init.d directories. Roms uses different /data partitions and extweaks profiles are stored under /data/.siyah. So you gotta configure both separately. Initramfs scripts are shared anyway since both rom uses the same kernel.
23) So if at all i format /sdcard, my second rom is gone?
A. Yes
24) Is the size of /system partition of secondary rom re-sizable from user space?
A. NO
25) Can i have different kernels for the two roms?
A. NO
26) What're the options under dual-booting in touch recovery?
A. i) View Status
Displays secondary rom info if found.
ii) Clone Primary ROM to secondary
First time, you will have only one rom. You may clone it as secondary rom (so that another rom can be used as primary by nandroid restoring)
iii) Clone secondary rom to primary
Whatever has been cloned as secondary rom is cloned to primary rom.
iv) Remove secondary rom
Deletes /system, /data and /cache partitions of second rom. You will have normal booting.
v) Backup secondary rom
Nandroid backup secondary rom to external sd.
vi) Restore as secondary rom
Restore any nandroid backup as secondary rom from external sd.
vii) Backup secondary rom to internal SD
Nandroid backup secondary rom to internal sd.
viii) Restore as secondary rom from internal sd
Restore any nandroid backup as secondary rom from internal sd.
ix) init second rom data
Initialize /data parition of secondary rom to resize the partition to make it bigger in case you run out of space for apps. Init also wipes all the data in /data partition. So your existing apps in secondary rom will be gone.
x) wipe second rom davik cache, xi) wipe second rom cache, xii) fix permissions in second rom - self explanatory

This is what i have got for now, but i am always looking for more dual booting options, if anyone knows of any please let me knowand i can add it to this thread.
If you have found this thread usfull then please hit the Thanks button
Nice work again fella
You should request this and your other thread are made into sticky's
Also, im hoping these two threads will help to stem the flow of threads and questions for previously trodden ground
Keep it up dude
Thanks man, the XDA community has give me so much, I just want to give back. It would be nice to see these as stickies, maybe the FM would be kind enough to consider placing them on the sticky thread.

You can use Rom Manager to Extract the apps and data from your nandroid backup, or another app that does the same is Nandroid Browser, you can get both of google play. Just as a side note, you should get an automation sync of data when flashing a new rom, as google now store all you apps and setting in the cloud, if you check in your settings it should be under Backup and reset - back up my data - check the box, and you should have an auto sync for your next rom flash.

For me it is just the chance to have a change never getting bored of the same rom, the con is using a dual boot that is still in better and is buggy at the moment, which may cause problems with your rom mainly the 2nd rom, also the storage of data is causing some people problems, but the thread is give good solutions.
Dual booting rocks. android rules...
Thank you for this guide
So there is an option to boot two GB ROMs but no ICS and now we can boot two ICS ROMs but no GB...
The third option should be... - you know it

Probably get flamed - btw, I don't care one jot - but why on earth should this be stickied?
This isn't a guide, it's a post with two links to the relevant threads, where the discussion is going to be a lot more useful than anything here.
s.d. o'connor, your other guides are guides, and are very useful, for which my thanks. This one isn't.

Why would you get flamed for having an opinion, you are entiled to that, but here goes my defence. I could only but ask if it could be a sticky i didnt make it one, and the idea is to stop new threads being opened asking the question can you dual boot the galaxy s2. Also as more options of dual booting become avaiable then they can be added to this thread.
P.S I dont want people to get flamed for having a opinion, they have a right to that, as long as they put that across in a good manner.
You don't need a defence (unlike Leeds United, but that's another story).
Flaming is an occupational hazard here sometimes, especially if someone has the temerity to diagree with someone else. I'm way past worrying anyway.
On topic - I still don't think this deserves sticky status. You and others do. No problem. Each to their own. It's up to the mods anyway, not us.
No foul on you SD O'C because you've put together some really good threads, but if this is 'sticky worthy' standards have plummeted on XDA. Rapidly. As has been pointed out, there's a couple of links & pretty much no original content or anything that could remotely be considered a 'guide'.
Droidphile's excellent dualbooting post in the Siyah dev thread a few days ago, now that was a guide (and sticky worthy).

What post number is it and i can include it and give him full credit, i will of course ask first. Also i would like to point out this was never intended as a guide, more a point of ref.
P.S If LUFC would like to change his mind on this being a sticky then i would have no problem with this.

Battery drain has been noted with the kernel, he has made a fix for most roms and combo's but he will need time as it is still in the early stages. Also when flashing a new rom this can alter the casuse battery drain, a full charge of the batter could fix this problem.

If so, what's the "donate to me" banner doing in your signature? Just awaiting love and affection?
You've compiled some useful guides, but let's face it, your work has mainly been collating readily available links and other posts that any reasonable modicum of searching ability could accumulate.
Nothing in the site rules that forbids you to ask for donations, but for what you've done - especially taking into account that you've been a member here for two months - I can think of an awful lot more contributors ("recognised" or not) whom are far more worthy of donations than yourself.
The "giving back to the community" spiel is very valiant and honourable, but you want donations. Fine, sure you've got some too. But don't dress it up behind the "giving back" line - not exactly sincere, no?
Again, I'm not flaming/trolling - merely my opinion.

Ok, the banner donate to me has been their since i joined as you are giventhe option to include one, i was new (still am), i have not recived any donations, and if i did they would be used to go back to the XDA website, if it offends anyone i will remove the banner. Also if any mod belives that i am not worthy of my title and that my guides are not of the standard that is very good then they can by all means remove them from any sticky they may be on, and remove my title if they see fit.
I know you are saying that you are not flaming me, but it seems to be moving in that direction. I know i have only been here a short while but i belive that what i have done is not that bad of a standard, in the short time i have been here.

Just got a new HD2. Recovery / root head start.

Hi guys.
Yesterday I got a used HTC HD2. It is installed with android nand and the DFT (Dark Forces Team) rom, I think taken from the DESIRE (according to the information on the 'About').
The main problem in the device is that it has really bit memory! After installing few apps, I cant download a thing :/
So I searched for the problem and I've realized that I need to make a partition on the SD-CARD. However I saw that in the market there are apps that allow moving the application that can only sit in the internal memory to the external memory.
I then found out that the phone doesn't have root access too. (Although it came with SUPERUSER app as default).
I can't find the main thread of the rom in order to ask there how to root the device.
Which software / app, will I need recovery installed (althogh I don't think it requires) and ETC.
Please can someone direct me or just give me names of apps/softwares/guides/anything :crying:
I guess GOOGLE could be my assitstant from there.
I'm afraid to follow guides that I don't sure will work properly with my phone's software.
Thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your kindly help.
Which Android version do you suggest to change to ?
ICS ? Or maybe GingerBread ?
And BTW I entered before to the MAGDLR menu, chosed the " AD Recovery " option and it said something like " no boot source ".
Does that mean that I don't have a recovery installed ?
And if so, will I need to install it first and then change the rom ?
Again, Thank you for your help.
Peleg.
yes you will need recovery...fast roms are mostly GB but ICS are as good as well...GB need less space on rom memory so if you don't install alot of craps as most of us do the remaining space will be fine for your data...ICS have hwa, apps work faster and games play better..I recommend ICS by tytung to be honest(very fast and stable)...when you download the recovery you will see a "flash.cfg" file...on the rom thread the developer will state the partitions needed for his rom and so you change the numbers on that file accordingly before flashing the recovery...but always make system space little bigger than needed just in case(and to avoid other problems that i will have a finger cramp if i write them down.! )

I will first install the recovery, but I guess I'll have to read a lot before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
Then I will search for a guide for installing recovery-
CWM will be great right ?
Thank you very much !!!
The guide you linked is very useful and makes everything clear. I strongly recommend reading it thoroughly before doing anything. Once you're slightly more comfortable with the terms, you can follow the guide in my sig to flash CWM and a ROM. You already have HSPL, a compatible Radio version and MAGLDR installed so don't worry about any of those. If you happen to come across guides which say 'task29' just ignore that step, Task29ing is completely useless.
As for recommending a ROM, it depends on your usage. Eliaskammas' post sums it up nicely, but you should note that (IMO) ICS and JB will give you worse day to day performance and stability than GB but will be better for intensive activities e.g. gaming, web browsing, using content-heavy apps etc. I've also found battery drain to be marginally more on ICS and JB ROMs.

Hi.
Thank you for your advices and technical help.
I will read it as soon as possible and then try to install the CWM Recovery and a better Rom.
According to what I saw, I think I will go on the "Energy rom" (Sense 3.5).
I will probably update my progresses here.
Thank you a lot.
BTW, a deodexed rom is needed for languages that are written from right to left ?
Or that I have to find a rom supports RTL ?
Beacuse for example, I've searched the thread of the Energy rom for "Hebrew" and found out that it doesn't supports RTL :/
Thank you.
I don't want to confuse you but I personally have always found Sense based ROMs to be slow and I think you should really stick to CM or MIUI. Anyway, that's really just my opinion.
Unfortunately, I think that you may have to find a ROM which supports RTL. I haven't looked into it but there may well be an app which somehow makes it work. If you're desperate for Android with Sense and RTL support then you could consider some of the SD ROMs from boxmax, he made good SD ROMs (at least when I used it), but I don't know which NAND ROMs will work for you.

Hi Nigeldg.
I took your advice and I think I will go on this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932
It supports rtl and data2ext.
But do I need to change my HD2's kernel ? To Dorimanx 's kernel ?
And from the guide that you've recommended on before, do I need to start from this part:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12656427&postcount=3
And to skip the other parts ?
I've read the hole guide and it is very helpful.
Everything is really clearer.
There's no need to change the kernel after flashing, but you can if you want to. I think the dorimanx krrnel is included in that rom anyway so i don't see why you'd want to flash it again. Follow the new way method and everything should be fine. You can use the NAND toolkit to select the appropriate partition size.

Hi Nigeldg.
I now want to install the CWM (long time hh)..
In this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932
It says to install CWM with this partition size:
" Flash the Latest CWR (Clockwork Recovery) with the appropriate partition sizes by using the "Repartition" button inside the HD2ToolKit: System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB "
In the thread of CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
Can I change the partition sizes used for CWM
A. You can by editing the flash.cfg but this is not recommended, CWM is designed to make it easier for switching roms, by flashing a custom partition size you may stop other roms working and require reflashing a new partition size when you want to change roms.
Q. I dont know which partition size to download
A. Depending on what type of roms you plan on using, you should choose the partition size based on the following.
150MB Partition - For bare roms including CyanogenMod, AOSP, and MiUI
250MB Partition - For Standard sense roms including Desire and EVo based ROMs, can also be used for some squashed HD builds
400MB Partition - For Larger roms including unsquashed Desire HD and Z roms, ROMs REQUIRE data2sd for EU HD2 with 512MB NAND
And in the thread in your sig it is possible to download 3 version of the CWM. (150, 250, 400).
How do I need to install the CWM ?
To download the 250MB version, and using the HD2ToolKit to change the partition size and install with System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB (as the rom developer suggested) ?
Thank you!
The thread you've linked to is the old CWM thread. I don't see why it says that you shouldn't change the partition sizes because that's simply not true, pretty much all ROMs use custom sizes. Ignore that advice, it's wrong. In my opinion the easiest thing to do is to download the HD2 NAND Toolkit, click 'MAGLDR repartition', choose 200 and you're done.

Ok.
So I've downloaded the HD2 ToolKit.
Actually what I need to do is this:
1. To choose the 200MB and 5 Cache and then press repartition. (In what way does the phone need to be ? MAGDLR Menu, or other option ? )
2. Then to install the CWM by going to MAGDLR - USB Flasher, connect to the computer, and run the
DAF.exe.
Right ?
1. Open the toolkit
2. Click the MAGLDR repartition tab and select 200 and change the cache size to 5
3. Click 'repartition' (bottom left of the toolkit)
4. Follow the instructions it gives you (boot your phone into USB flasher mode then connect it to your PC) and let it flash.

because now my phone cant load to the rom, it says NAND Kernel something and boots up to MAGDLR.

EDIT:
I've did it and chosed the "AD Recovery" option.
Now I can see that I have CWM Recovery!!
I thought that I had to choose somehow to install the CWM, and that's why I didn't understand.
Now,
Do you recommend to do wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache ?
And after that to install from CWM the ROM that I've transferd to the Root of the SD right ?
Thank you very much !!!
You don't need to wipe anything, that already happened when you flashed CWM. Yes you should just have to flash the ROM now, as said in the guide in my sig. You may want to create an EXT partition but for your particular ROM it's not a necessary step so you can skip that. Glad I could help

It isn't necessary because it automaticly transfer the data to the SD ?
During the installation a message showed up saying that the rom identified that I don't have an EXT-partition installed.
Can I make a partition using the CWM/ADVANCED/PARTITION-SD ?
Thank you so much for your help!!
You saved me, and becuase of you I didn't sell the phone.
Thank you!!
It isn't necessary because the ROM itself is quite light, so all of it can be fit on to the NAND memory. It would help to create one because you may need it in the future, so I personally would if I were you. The way you described would work fine

Welcome post!
Hi,
First of all welcome to this thread. I wanted to be the first poster in this Q&T thread, especially created and dedicated to my ROM thread, to show my appreciation to be able being a part of this.. I want to thank @Robbie P, and of course the entire Q&T Team (all of them are RC's), to make this possible.
Now a little word about the goal of this specific Q&T thread:
"goal of this specific thread is to clean up my development ROM thread with Off Topic posts. These kind of posts will ,with this especially created Q&T thread , redirected to this new Q&A/T thread. With Off Topic post we, @Robbie P and I, mean posts that are not directly ROM development related, e.g. I want to use ths ROM, how to install it or can I use this app with this ROM,etc. @Robbie P and I will be monitoring my ROM thread for these kind of posts and ask the poster kindly to move his post to this thread. We hope that after a certain amount of time this will be self-sustaining and becoming a normal thing to do.
Many thanks to @Robbie P and the entire Q&T team,
chautruongthinh

First of all, chautruongthinh, thank you so much for such a wonderful job you'd accomplished.
That's a great Holiday Gift to beloved HD2 users
I've been using HD2 a couple of years but I've been always using NAND ROM flash.
However, I decided to use this superb ROM with NativeSD since I got some bad blocks
on my HD2 so I'm very much noob for the NativeSD ROM install.
I used macs18max's instruction of NativeSD setup at this thread but I'm stuck at not able to load the ROM.

and set to: ext4/2056MB
From TWRP & install ROM, I selected
Install Type: NativeSD
Default Connection TYpe: PPP
Active RAM page Swap: No
Wipe: Wipe Dalvik-Cache
>> Install seems completed without an error
Now, back to cLK, I set followings:
ADD sboot
HIDE MULTIBOOT
NativeSD boot
Set Default KERNEL: Set as sboot
Enable ExtROM
Then, I end up getting result in Main Screen as:
KERNEL @ boot [INVALID]
KERNEL @ sboot [INVALID]
>>> Obviously, I cannot boot the ROM.
Did I miss or mess any step above?
Also, do I need any NAND ROM pre-installed?
Thank you in advance!!
EDIT: I tried "Data2ext" (DataOnExt?) install option and now I can boot the ROM!!
Well, I still wonder why NativeSD is not working and how much speed difference
would be compare to Data2ext.
Hi chautruongthinh, the link in OP is to your Slimkat build
I haven't had a chance to try this rom yet hope to soon.
NativeSD. Stuck on htc logo. Magldr 1.13. 4EXT Recovery (400 Mb system size). 2gb ext4 :crying:

Hi chautruongthinh! Thank you for your development on HD2.
I tried to install your rom to NativeSD, but no luck, stuck on htc logo.
This is my configuration:
HD2 (EU)
Magldr 1.13
4EXT Recovery
1gb ext4
Tried installing it twice(with wipe and without) but always the same.

Hi,
I was also having trouble with ext4 on nand with data on ext.
Some roms seem to not work so well with ext4, have your tried using ext3?
Also another option would be to do a factory restore and cache wipe.
Hope it helps

Hi,
I had the same problem, but I gave up trying to install it on ext4.
After installing it on ext3 with multiple factory restores and some reinstalls it works great

Hi chautruongthinh,
your Q&A/T thread is added to post #4 of our Public thread (HTC Devices - HD2).
kindest regards, Kuzibri
Thanks for your work
I have a problem:
I have installed the rom on nand with data on ext with 400mb system partition, 1024mb ext3 and 512mb swap.
After many attempts i have succeeded to install it and have it running, but my HD2 displays that I have 0mb free in the internal memory,
which i am certain that isn't full, havin only 148Mb occupied by stock apps.
I am unable to install anything because of this bug.
Thank you

Hi mosquito
Nand with data on ext
You have to install the latest ROM and HSPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
Then you have to wipe your nand with task 29 using this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
After the wipe, you should repartition it with either MAGLDR or CLK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
or you can use the same HTC HD2 nand toolkit, youtube has several videos with tutorials.
You have to try what system size works for you, in the main thread you can find:
"Minimum required: 400MB
Recommended: 450~500MB"
You have to enter CWM Recovery
-MAGLDR: boot up your phone into magldr by pressing the power button and not releasing it until you see the menu, and navigate with your volume rockers to 8.AD Recovery and press the call button.
-CLK: boot up by pressing the power and home button at the same time and also not releasing it until you see the recovery menu.
Once in CWM recovery, you have to access mounts and storage and then mount USB storage.
Connect your phone to the PC.
You have to repartition your sd card with two or three primary partitions, depending on whether you would like swap or not.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916464
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126363
You have to copy the downloaded custom ROMs .zip file and copy it to your FAT32 partition.
(the fat partition should be the first one in the partition table, or else windows will not recognize your phone)
Navigate back to the main menu of CWM recovery and select install zip from sdcard and choose zip from sdcard after that it's kind of straight forward, having to follow the instructions.
Nativesd and directSD
I recall that it's pretty much the same process, but you don't have to wipe your nand or partition your sdcard.
After entering CWM recovery, you have to same route to install it and the follow the on-screen instructions.
I hope that it was helpful,
if something is wrong, please correct me
