Hi guys. This is my first time posting but I've searched through the forums and can't seem to find much. Is it possible to have an auto flash mode for the camera? I know there's limitations with 1.6 but the X10 mini has this functionality and wondered if there's any way to import this? Apologies if this is a stupid question
It would have great to get this I dont know anything, but after rooting, may be it's possible??? Or the LED light on/off button on viewfinder? then we can be able to on/off led with single click without going in settings

ive had bad experience with the x10 camera app and i though i might have a faulty camera or something is screwed up but the problems are with the actual app, ive since started using vignette as my camera app, you can make it as default camera app, ifs got flash on/off/auto, different effects, and it doesnt compress the images as much it leave an 8mpx photo between 3.5mb - 8mb and thats actually the approx size it should be without loosing quality.
ill upload in a few min the pictures ive taken with the x10 using that app
best $3 ive spent on the android market.
S.E. should learn from its developers of how to make a camera app
the images are to big to upload here and i dont want to resize them so as not to loose quality of the originals so heres the link to view the images,

Woww if it has on/off/auto, then it's very useful
Can you please post pictures of same object taken with stock camera & vignette, then we can see difference in quality also

is late at night where im from (Australia) but ill take some outdoor pix tomorrow with both original camera app and the vignette one so you guys can all see the difference. so in about 12-14 hours ill upload comparison pictures
This app is pretty awesome. Funny that the developers could make the X10's flash work like, well, a flash. How the heck could SE not figure that one out?? It's now my default camera app. 4/5 and would be 5/5 if they could speed up the camera. This is my only beef with the camera on the X10. Takes too long to take the actually photo. My wife's iphone takes it instantly, and I must say that given the fact that it's only 3.2 mega pixels the quality of the photos is pretty darn good too. Must have something to do with the app itself.
Never the less Vignette is one of the best paid apps ive purchased to date.

I would say that I took various photos of different things to see what the difference was but I think its pretty clear to see. The images with Vignette were all poor focus. Needless to say I have uninstalled/refunded the app. I'll stick with the stock camera for the time being.
By the way never done on line pics before so dont know if above links will work!

Where did you guys buy the X10 with a flash? I want that version! Mine only came with a photo light, which isn't designed to be used as a flash!
The Vignette app from the market gives you flash functionality over the photolight which is probably its most redeeming feature cos the photo quality was pants!
I've had some impressive results with Vignette - took some photo's of a document today using it and it was definitely sharper than with the stock cam..?!
Oh no, so what was I doing wrong?! Why were my pics so out of focus? The reason I sent those two in was that I even put the camera on the edge of the shelf to steady it to see if it was me with camera shake.
Don't say I've ditched a decent product cos I got the settings wrong!

Well one is in focus while the other is out of focus, that's not an app doing it.
How do you guys use the flash with vignette app? I have it on my phone but there's no option to turn it on!
Don't you have the "flash icon" on the screen - over on the right, 2nd from bottom when in landscape mode... ??..
And Suzed - Did you change any of the "JPEG file settings" - 2nd icon from the top on the right when in landscape mode... I think mine started on 2mp normal, I've changed it to 8.0mp superfine.
personally ive not have any problems with vignette,
set flash to auto,
8mpx, superfine.
one other thing i did was set in the options to touch screen to take photo, that way it does auto focus and only take photo when you hold it steady, so photos are in focus and great, check out photos ive taken

only thing is it takes some times for the photos to be processed and uses up a lot of resources, in my case adw launcher reloads when i exit the vignette app, but i dont mind as long as the pictures i take come out great
i have a question for everyone using Vignette.
In daylight is taking the same overexposed as the stock app?
With the stock app i have control over exposure compensation so, after lowering EV with a stop or two everything is fine but Vignette demo doesn't have exposure compensation support.
How is it in the full version?
Can somebody take 2 images one with Vignette and one with stock outside in daylight at max quality (8 Mp, superfine)?
I bought Camera FX sometime ago but is useless as it doesn't have any EV/ISO/etc. controls.
Long story short: About four months ago I was a happy iPhone 4 user. I really loved the camera quality and with Camera+ I could edit the pictures I made, which was great too.
In November 2012 I switched to the Galaxy S3. Loved everything about it except for the (wait for it.......) camera. It sucked so baldy, especially when coming from an iPhone.
I got my Galaxy S4 yesterday and I really love the camera It's much better than the iPhone 4 and even beating my dad's iPhone 5 (I'm talking about outdoor shots). But what I don't get is that some reviewers get extremely bad pictures with it. The reason they do get those blurry and noisy pictures is the stock camera app. Obviously, there's no auto-focus before the picture is taken. And the results are terrible. I even remember using the stock Samsung camera app on my old GS3 when I went on vacation after I bought it. I took many pictures and when I arrived home I had to find out that they were blurry (very nasty, actually). The disappointment was so big that I literally spent hours looking for a decent camera app.
Then I found Snap Camera HDR. The pics were better, but SGS3 camera still sucked (maybe I just caught a bad lens on my model).
So now, on my SGS4 I compared the stock app with Snap Camera. Conclusion: The stock app sucks. A lot. Sure, there's some awesome modes in it like Night Mode, HDR and all that. But who need that if there's no focus? Of all the pictures I took, about 70% were blurred because of its lack of a decent focus. It makes sense when people claim that the HTC One is better for capturing instant shots.
So guys, for shots in outdoor situations, try to use apps like Snap Camera or Camera FV-5. At least you'll have the pictures focused and I'm sure that you'll see some noticable improvement.
And this leads to the next question, namely if there are different sensors built in the two different versione (Snapdragon & Exynos). Some people here in the forum claim that the I9500 uses the Exmor RS and the I9505 uses the exmor R. When you look at some pictures of Chinese reviews one could think that it is true. But on the other hand, why would Samsung do that? Seriously?
For my part it's probably because of the guys using the I9500. Maybe they're using apps with better focus to get all out of the camera. Maybe they're using some stands for the shots they take. Or maybe they just have steady hands. I don't know. But using two different senors wouldn't make sense. I even called Samsung here in Switzerland and they told me that both versions have the same sensor when it comes to the camera.
I took some pics so you can see how they look like when you shoot them with Snap Camera HDR. The level of detail looks exactly like the one on the I9500 reviews from Russia and China. But judge yourself. Note that the pics were shot at bad conditions (rainy and cloudy weather). More pictures are coming next week.

I think, they both are using the same camera sensor. Difference in some picture are because there may be a dirty lens or not steady shot. All photos of i9500 and i9505 are very good and have the same parameters.
I just hope Samsung isn't using 2 different sensors besides 2 different CPU's, that would certainly upset a lot of users including me.

Daaaamn dat camera, thats some nice pics in not so good conditions, cloudy and all.
I thought they were maybe different sensors. Brian Klung from anandtech mentioned that he noticed 2 different sensor names for the exynos and Snapdragon versions.
Hey, I recently got my G2 and I love it. The only thing that really annoys me is the camera. When indoors in a fairly well lit room, it lags. I'm not talking about the focus, but the framerate is really low and what appears on the screen is behind what is actually happening, on both front and rear cameras. My old S IIIs camera performed alot better than this, and it's frustrating whenever I even open any camera involving app (stock camera app, snapchat, google camera etc.) Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this how all G2s are, or is mine faulty?
The g2 camera is a pos. It produces a ton of noise in fair to low light and it takes in not enough light to perform properly. You can try installing a camera mod which I did yesterday after I was *****ing on here about the same issues. I installed xdabbab's mod and it seems a hair better than the stock camera but it still sucks. The galaxy s3/4/5 iPhone 5/5s and all the Nokia lumias all perform better then the G2.
If you are tooted try installing the camera mods and see if they help you. I'm just spoiled by better camera phones .

Hi guys,
I have just got an GT-i9506 and I'm loving the size, speed and how smooth everything feels, compared to the S3 I had previously.
BUT I think I am having an issue with the camera.
I can take great photos, but the focus when close up or macro is horrible.
On my S3 if I got a little too close, I would hold the phone further back, focus on my subject, move a bit closer and focus again and so on until I was as close as I wanted to be and I was able to take the shot.
I can't seem to get this technique to work on this phone.
I find, even taking shots from a far (which the camera focuses fine with), when I zoom in after the photo is taken, the quality is horrible.
For once, heavily sharpening my images in post-production in apps like VSCO is actually helping!
Is anyone else seeing a drop in camera quality compared to older devices like the S3?
Any recommended settings in the stock camera, flashable fixes or apps people would recommend over the stock camera for this device?

I've this phone for over 2 weeks now and I'm already in love with it. But I'm facing a camera issue here.
Have taken some excellent pic with the cam. But I don't know why pics even in proper indoor lighting are grainy on zoom.
Is this a hardware-only problem present only on my device or is it a software issue?
Should I get the device replaced or there will be a software update in future fixing this issue(which is huge for me).
Guys, please help me
Definitely a software issue, hopefully OnePlus updates the camera software soon. With that said, coming from an iPhone 7 Plus, I find the camera to be solid albeit overhyped at launch. I've taken some great shots, even depth effect photos look great at times. I have zero complaints

Thanks, I agree with you on every points here. I was really worried about that grainy stuff. Everything else about the camera is very good. Hoping, for it to get fixed asap.

Zoom or without zoom only main camera will be used. Try to cover zoom camera and shoot photo.
