why so quite in here need to see your opinion guys

It may also be necessary to do a full factory reset from recovery to get the status back from "custom/modified" to "official".

And you have to had a stock recovery, or flash coubter will show 1 all the time that you turn on the phone

The current unroot tutorial we have was not specific and it was disorganized. I made one that is easy to follow.

This will completely restore your G1 software to what it was like out of the box. We recommend doing this whenever you will be giving physical possession of your phone away for long periods of time, such as when you sell, replace, and/or send it in for repair. Not only will this hide any software modifications you have done which basically “unvoids” your warranty but also clear out your personal data.
Ensure your phone is connected and you can write to /SDCard
Download the Original G1 SPL and rename it to “update.zip”
Copy update.zip to /SDCard
Go into your phones recovery (Hold the home & power button)
Push Alt+S on your G1 to flash it with update.zip
Download the RC29 NBH and place it in the root of your SDCard
Load your phones bootloader (Hold the Camera & Power button)
Press the Power button to start the update (Do NOT interrupt this process)
Hit the action key (Trackball down) and your phone will reboot.
At this point your phone will be unrooted but it will have the out-of-date RC29. Your phone should download updates OTA(Over The Air) soon but you can also force this by going to Settings>About phone>System Updates

Techincally yes, if you have a custom splash2, then your tutorial is incorrect as well.

About download mode and recovery mode

I got my new galaxy s from Bell last week. I have read how i can go to download mode and recovery mode.
For recovery mode, i can go in and there is few option i can do. Normally i just bootup.
For download mode, i can go in also. But there is a yellow construction logo, and it didn't disappear. Is it normal? It was just saying downloading and do not turn off target forever. Then i have to turn it off by pressing power button for 5 seconds. And it will reboot to normal mode.
Do i get the bad version of i9000m? And my series number is end of 60xxxxx
Thanks you.
don't worry that is normal
the contrusction screen (download mode) is meant to be that way.
it is only used to flash the phone with new version of the ROMs
you got a good phone!

Because i saw my series number is 60xxxxx...and it match the number the website mention.
Anyway, very happy with my new phone!
I got my SGS on the first day it launched, but Im a little nervous to test the recovery mode items (lack of experience with Android OS). I've looked, but was wondering could someone describe to me what the need (and difference) is between recovery mode and download mode?
check out the wiki

it can't be any more clear than that
Yes, don't worry. It don't damage the phone. Just press 3 buttons when you power off the phone.

PS:I wont be rooting my phone anytime soon!.
Thanks In Advance
This is the default for AOSP, if you want to have additional options like "Reboot, Reboot - Recovery, ..." then you will need to install Xposed or use a custom rom.
Regards,
Yeah what JoKe_42 said.
They've removed all but the power off from that menu in the stock build.
If you are rooted, you can use the Quick Reboot app.
I'd recommend you to use Cataclysm Mod instead of Xposed..
I'm not a huge fan of Xposed, and Cataclysm has been awesome...
Or to restart without Xposed, Quick Boot, etc. which require root, just hold down the power button for about 7 or 8 seconds until the phone reboots. And Airplane Mode can be accessed easily enough from the Status Bar pull-down--> Quick Settings.
Thanks all..as said won't be rooting anytime soon.

You don't need root to run a custom ROM.

Black Screen, no download mode

Hi, guys can you help me with a littel advice! Like i wrote in title i have a Samsung J5 (SM-J500F) it was bought second hand and was already with a custom rom. Last night i setup my alarm and i put him to charge but this morning my alarm doesn't ring....when i look at the phone it was a message: "Custom binary blocked by FRP. Secure Fail Kernel" The problem it's after i download the original firmware install Odin3 and flash the phone.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now my phone don't work, all i can see it's a black screen and nothing work's, no download menu, can't connect to Odin.....can i save the phone or just stay 2 months and buy a new phone. I found this pdf any of you know if it's a scam or it's actually true ?
And i'm sorry if i posted in wrong topic!
Don't know much about Samsung phones but mine can not boot into download mode using Home+Vol.Down+Power anymore.
However, it works if I do the following:
1) Open Odin
2) Power off device
3) Hold Power+Vol.Up+Vol.Down, while doing this plug in your cable.
4) Maybe you have to long press Vol.Up now
4) Odin should detect phone and phone should be in download mode
Don't know if that still works since I'm refering to my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i which is really old (highest official Android OS was 2.3.6).
If it doesn't work, someone else may help you.
I try that but is not working.... Thx for reply
