[ROOTING] On a Mac OS via Fastboot - Oppo Find 5

I have a Mac and the Find 5.
Here's how I went about quickly rooting my phone via fastboot.
(1) Download this file and extract it. Root_Find5_Mac_Fastboot.zip
(2) Extract it, there you should find fastboot file and recovery.img
(3) Power off your phone
(4) Get into Fastboot mode on your phone by simultaneously holding down the power and volumn up/+ buttons for about 30 seconds
(5) If you have successfully entered Fastboot mode, you should see "Fastboot" along with some Chinese characters
(6) Connect your phone to your Mac with the USB cable
(7) Launch Terminal, and cd to the Root_Find5_Mac_Fastboot directory
(8) Execute ./fastbook devices to confirm that everything is connected properly
(9) Execute ./fastboot boot recovery.img to temporarily install TWRP recovery, and reboot into it
(10) When you have automatically rebooted into TWRP recovery, click on "Reboot" ===> "System" ====> slide the lower bar to the right to reboot phone.
(11) Once rebooted, find and launch SuperSU installer in the app drawer.
(12) The installer will update itself via Google Play Store
(13) Once updated, you have rooted.
Great thing about this method is that your stock recovery will remained installed and unaltered.

This works wonderfully, however with this phone u don't need a PC or Mac to root. Just look up the Find 5 root zip forum ...just flash that zip in stock recovery... Done.

./fastboot devices doesn't show any connected devices although the phone is in fastboot mode and connected via usb.
It works fine on my windows 8 laptop. Could it be a problem with OS X Mavericks?

Nexus S Forgot Security PIN

Hey all,
Hopefuly someone can help me otherwise i'm going to have to take this phone back to the o2 shop where I got it from.
I have a Nexus S, was looking at custom roms the other night and decieded to unlock and root it and flash the CyW7 rom onto it.....after a couple hours of playing with the new software I decieded it wasn't for me so flashed the device back to stock 2.3.1 software.
2.3.1 loaded fine and I installed the 2.3.2 update before rooting it so I could install adblock.
Got it all working fine, setup a security PIN (8 digits) and went to bed.
Woke up this morning and found the phone was not accepting the PIN, ive tried rebooting, trying the PIN in different varations incase I setup a wrong PIN in the first place......still no luck
So, i've looked into reflashing the device with stock 2.3.1 software again but USB debug mode isn't on and I can't install the USB drivers in Fastboot mode (says no compatible driver found for my hardware error)
How do I move forward here? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Boot into recovery and factory reset.
Boot recovery took me to a error screen where I had to take battery out to reset it.
I've managed to get the USB drivers to work now, and flashed the clockwordmod recovery image, then reset the phone.
Can I just confirm;
Is this the correct proceedure for the Nexus S to stop the Clockwordmod recovery from been removed.
1. Download the custom recovery image and save it to your computer
2. Copy the recovery.img file inside the tools folder of the sdk (so it is in the same folder as fastboot.exe)
3. Then in the command prompt that should still be open, type the following with hitting enter at the end of each line:</p><p>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. Once it is flashed, leave the phone in plugged in and in fastboot mode.
6. Root the Phone
7. In fastboot mode, select Recovery using the volume buttons and power button and wait for it to boot into recovery mode.
8. Download the Superuser flashable zip file and save it to your computer.
9. Once in recovery mode, select Mounts and Storage then select Mount USB Storage so we can transfer files to the sd while it is in recovery mode.
10. Copy the Superuser.zip file to the root of your internal storage (do NOT extract it, do NOT put it in any folders, just on the phones storage itself).
11. Select Unmount on the phone.
12. Select Mount System, then select Go Back to get back to the main menu.
13. Then scroll to flash zip from sdcard and then choose zip from sd card and select the superuser.zip file and wait for it to finish flashing.
14. Once it is done, select Go Back then Reboot System and wait for the phone to reboot.
15. Stop the Phone from Uninstalling the Custom Recovery Image
16. Once the phone is booted up, plug it in via USB cable and do NOT mount the storage.
17. Open a command prompt on the computer and type the following with hitting enter at the end of each line:
adb shell
cd etc
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
mv install-recovery.sh install-recovery-no.sh.
18. Turn off the phone and turn it back on by holding down Volume Up and Power to get into fastboot mode.
19. Plug the phone in via USB cable while in fastboot mode and open the command prompt again and type the following with hitting enter at the end of each line:
cd c:\androidsdk\tools\
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

[How-to]Root Android 4.2.2 And Install CWM v6.0.2.3

Here We have the Root And CWM for Nexus 7 On Android 4.2.2!
Step 1 - Download Android SDK from the Android Developers website and install with USB drivers. See: How to Set Up Android SDK (Fastboot / ADB) on Windows.
Step 2 - Enable USB Debugging mode in your Nexus 7 tablet.
Step 3 - Download Fastboot and extract it in android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory. Create directory if not already there.
NOTE: Skip Steps 1, 2, 3 if you already have them.
Step 4 - Download SuperSU v1.04 (UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip) and copy it to your sdcard on your Nexus 7 tablet.
Step 5 - Make sure you have backup your data as it will be removed. Then switch OFF your Nexus 7.
Step 6 - Download recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.3-grouper.img and copy/paste it in the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory.
Step 7 - Now go into Fastboot Mode on Nexus 7. How? Press Volume Down + UP + Power key for a few seconds till you see some text on the screen.
Step 8 - Navigate to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).

Step 10 - Once completed, choose RECOVERY MODE from the Fastboot menu and enter Recovery Mode.

That’s it. Your Nexus 7 is now rooted on Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 software version of Jelly Bean and even has a custom CWM recovery installed. Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.

Step 4 and step 7
I am a little confused about step 4 as I didn't think any nexus 7's had a SD card slot. I purchased mine right from google. I just put the zip file directly on the device itself and I know from my experience with my old Nexus One that this works too, just wondering who is selling the one with SD card slots. My second question, and really the more important one is step 7. I have tried to make the device go into fastboot several times and when I hold the volume keys down, the device boots to a black screen with no ability to do anything after that. If I mess with the power button (meaning I hold it in for a long time then let it out, and do this several times) I can get the device to preform a normal boot. Any thoughts?

Thanks a million man! I was having all kinds of trouble updating to 4.2.2 and finally figured that out. Then I was having problems rooting again until I found this. Your method worked great but I used TWRP instead and it still did the trick. Thanks again.
I tried this but when I want to flash the recovery, my fastboot.exe will then not respond and will try to close. What gives?

Just a quick note here, to enter Fastboot Mode you just need to turn the Nexus 7 off, then turn on again, soon as you see the Google logo press the Volume Down key and hold (Hold both Power button and Volume Down Key).
No need for holding the power button, the vol down button does the whole trick

re-install the fastboot with all it's extensions in the same folder!
If you want to use fastboot by a easy way, use this guide you don't need adb line command, just fastboot line command and it's an child game by this way
If you have got a problem with your adb or fastboot or recovery....it's very simply and faster
use this:
Download this file "Fastboot.zip"
Install this file somewhere in one folder which is named "fastboot" on your PC
=> disk C: root
Unzipped this file on the folder "fastboot" and you will find 3 files:
- adb.exe
- AdbWinApi.dll
- fastboot.exe
and when you need to push something by the bootloader, you can use it.
Don't forget to push on this folder the file that you need. For exemple: boot.img or a recovery.img, etc...

Ok, so I am running the 4.2.2 update, and after jumping through numerous hoops trying to have my device recognized by adb, I just want to make sure that my very first step should be to boot up in fastboot mode and then issue the following command...
"fastboot oem unlock"
???
Then I can go ahead and proceed to flashing the CWM recovery and flashing the SuperSU file...?

Forget about ADB when your tablet is in FASTBOOT/BOOTLOADER mode...
Here are the salient commands....

- should return a serial number to confirm your FASTBOOT connection -

- will unlock the BOOTLOADER and will WIPE and FACTORY RESET THE DEVICE; unfortunate, but necessary .

With the BOOTLOADER unlocked, begin to set up your Nexus 7 again... as though it was a brand new, just purchased tablet... ie., country, regionalization, WiFi key... etc.
Go online with your Nexus 7 browser (Chrome), and download Chainfire's SU Updater .ZIP package from here...

Upon completion of this download, shut down the tablet.

Reboot again into FASTBOOT/BOOTLOADER mode... VOL down button + POWER ON button.

When the self-congratulatory round of self applause has died down, ... and with the Nexus 7 still in FASTBOOT/ BOOTLOADER MODE, use the VOL buttons to navigate and the POWER button to select... reboot into RECOVERY.
Using the new CUSTOM RECOVERY, flash Chainfires SU updater package that you downloaded earlier... usually found in the /download folder...
Done.
Reboot.
Rooted.

I installed Drivers and confirmed that they were working
I rebooted into fastboot mode, and unlocked bootloader
I rebooted, enabled usb debugging, and rebooted to fastboot
I flashed TWRP, and it said it was successful, and I rebooted into fastboot again
i clicked the root button in Windroid toolkit, and it said it was rooting and it was successful
normal reboot
stuck at "android" loading screen for 10 minutes, unplug, replug, stuck at "android" for 10 minutes
reboot to fastboot, relock (idk why, but i assumed it would wipe the device), reboot, stuck at "android" for over 10 minutes
reboot to fastboot, boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reboot
Still stuck on "android" screen
I don't know what else to try, and I would appreciate any help you could offer
Nexus Player Stuck at "Android" loading screen
Steps:
1. Download the required files:
• TWRP file download - https://dl.twrp.me/fugu/
• Chainfire SU - https://download.chainfire.eu/743/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip
XDA links to device Boot Image:

2. Unzip Boot Image
3. Copy TWRP image file, boot Image and Beta-SuperSu.zip to your platform-tools folder
4. Before running the following commands note that "Your Device must be unlocked"
5. Place your player in bootloader modeRun the following commands:
- Unplug the power,
- Hold down the power button, while plugging the power back in
- When you see the light blinking release the power button you should be in boot loader mode.
6. Open command window inside of your program tools folder:
Test Fast boot Devices
- Type "Fastboot devices"
- You should see your device appear in the list
Flash boot image
- Type “fastboot flash boot boot.img”
Flash recovery
- Type “fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-fugu.img”
Reboot in to recovery mode
- Quick press Nexus power button to change boot option
- When the Boot to Recovery option appears long press power button and player will reboot in to TWRP recovery
Once the player has booted in to recovery... Copy SuperSU to player using ADB.
- Type “ adb devices” to make sure your device is connected properly
- Type “adb push BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip /sdcard/Download (note be sure you have typed Download with a capital “D”.
Install SuperSU (You can disconnect your the player from your PC)
- On your player boot into recovery if you are not already there
- Locate the SuperSU file in the /sdcard/Download folder
- Select the SU File and install
- Then reboot your player…. All should be functioning again.

Complete Rooting Guide!

I have seen a lot of people using unofficial and third-party methods to root, which can result in a lot of adverse circumstances to say the least.
So I'm presenting a complete noob-friendly guide to rooting.
Prerequisites:
1. A computer ( I'm using Windows 10 but any OS would do)
2. A USB cable
3. Basic computer know-how
Part 1 (Getting computer ready)
Download sdk tools (adb and fastboot) from here
Note that in the entire guide I'm using official products.
So in Windows, download the zip and extract it in any folder.
Now download latest twrp recovery from here
The lastest version as of 7th August, 2017 is 3.1.
The downloaded file will be named as twrp-x.x.x-0-x3.img.
Now rename this as recovery.img (this will make our work easier)
Now move that file to platform-tools folder which we extracted earlier.
Also, I suggest downloading Intel USB drivers for Android from here
Part 2 (Getting Phone Ready)
Unlocking bootloader didn't format my phone but taking a backup is still important.
Now go to Settings<About Phone and click on Build until it says "You have become a developer"
Now back to main settings menu and find "Developer Options". And turn USB debugging on.
Download magisk install.zip, unistall.zip ans apk from here
Now connect your phone to PC via USB cable.
Step 3 (Rooting!!)
Now open platform-tools folder and press Shift+ right click.
Select "open command prompt here".
Now a terminal will open.
Type

Now you will get a prompt on your phone. Accept it.
Now type

adb reboot bootloader
Your phone will automatically reboot and fastboot will come up.
Now type

fastboot oem unlock
[Alert! If you get <waiting for device> right click on start menu, select the unrecognized device and install Intel driver in it. Google for detailed instruction]
The process will start and you will get something like

And type prompt. Now type

When you get type prompt again, type

And when the screen switches off, hold power up+power button.

If you get something like red state... verification failed... Then it's a good news.
Wait a few seconds and then twrp will launch. I suggest swiping on the first screen
[because letv is almost dead and we can't expect any updates. Plus my bootloader was relocked in my first attempt when I didn't swipe.]
(I suggest wiping dalvik cache and cache)
Now you can just reboot your phone normally.
Now install magisk apk.
Now reboot again to recovery. (Easiest way is Update app>tree dots menu> reboot to recovery)
When twrp starts, go to install> download and find magisk zip. Swipe to install.
Reboot and you have a fully rooted phone!!

Intel driver will not work try downloading drivers from skyneel for our phone

Intel drivers worked for my leeco le 1s. Ideally, Intel drivers should work for all devices.
I'll make a tutorial with screenshots on setting up the drivers whenever I get time.
i cant find "open command prompt here" with shift+ Right click in platform-tools folder

Unlocking bootloader didn't format my phone but taking a backup is still important.
Now go to Settings<About Phone and click on Build until it says "You have become a developer"
Now back to main settings menu and find "Developer Options". And turn USB debugging on.
Download magisk install.zip, unistall.zip ans apk from here
Now connect your phone to PC via USB cable.
Step 3 (Rooting!!)
Now open platform-tools folder and press Shift+ right click.
Select "open command prompt here".
Now a terminal will open.
Type
Code:
adb devices
Now you will get a prompt on your phone. Accept it.
Now type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Your phone will automatically reboot and fastboot will come up.
Now type
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
[Alert! If you get <waiting for device> right click on start menu, select the unrecognized device and install Intel driver in it. Google for detailed instruction]
The process will start and you will get something like
(Okay ....)
(Okay....)
And type prompt. Now type

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flashing will start.
When you get type prompt again, type
Code:
fastboot reboot
And when the screen switches off, hold power up+power button.

should work but it's effect was same as

If you get something like red state... verification failed... Then it's a good news.
Wait a few seconds and then twrp will launch. I suggest swiping on the first screen
[because letv is almost dead and we can't expect any updates. Plus my bootloader was relocked in my first attempt when I didn't swipe.]
(I suggest wiping dalvik cache and cache)
Now you can just reboot your phone normally.
Now install magisk apk.
Now reboot again to recovery. (Easiest way is Update app>tree dots menu> reboot to recovery)
When twrp starts, go to install> download and find magisk zip. Swipe to install.
Reboot and you have a fully rooted phone!!

There was a prompt for TWRP update and Magisk Update.
After it has started showing Orange State instead of Red State.
The phone got rebooted and all installed apps were deleted.
Xposed got uninstalled.
Playstore, Googlemaps got unistalled.
Camera is working.
Calling is working.
Now it shows Orange State.
Is it safe.
Can we bring it to red state?

I too got orange state when I had to reroot my device after it got bricked, but there was no issue, everything worked perfectly.

Here l select the unrecognized device and install the Intel drivers but it stuck at the "Okay,,,,Okay" prompt. Meaning that l didn't get this okay prompts and it keeps me on waiting the whole day.

Don't power off your phone. Post a screenshot of what exact problem you face with driver installation.

Hi, after completing this step by step guides my Le 1s can't boot to normal anymore, even if I try booting up system from twrp also it doesn't help, I cant even power off now. So, please please help me out again on how to get back to a normal phone. Thanks in advance.

I have a A2017G, I have managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and SuperSu on 6.0.1 version But then I have had the nice idea to update to 7.1.1 then have put update. zip file (renamed), in SD card, turn off the terminal, enter into TWRP but it Disappear!!! Only Originale...io recovery make flash and device updated to B09.
I want to install TWRP and SuperSu and put alternative ROMs but I can't do anything! If I open PowerShell window in adb folder and command "ADB reboot bootloader", the device reboot and appear a screen where to " your devices software can't be checked for corruption, please lock the bootloader", ecc ecc, If I squeeze volume on, it will get into recovery, if I don't do anything it reboot normally.
I can not get into fastboot mode, I fail to install TWRP. What is the best way to go back? or reset everything and start again? I have tried to downgrade from Nougat to MM via SD but after about 1 minute of analysis I aborted the installation....
However the phone will work normally even without all these things but I have purchased ZTE for modding and I don't bear to have half fatto...in work the most difficult thing to be unlocking the bootloader and I do this thing...

Your phone works normally
You don't have fastboot
You have stock recovery
If this is the case then most surely you have EDL working...
Install TWRP from EDL mode:
This is taken from Controllerboy's guide
BE SURE THAT WINDOWS SHOWS FILE NAME EXTENSIONS!
A) Flashing TWRP Recovery to your device.
Q: Why do I need TWRP?
A: TWRP is a custom recovery system. It lets your backup your system in case anything goes wrong. It also lets you flash custom ROMs and zip files containing patches like viper4android or A.R.I.S.E. (audio) and root your device via SuperSU.
0) Boot up a windows computer with a 64bits processor. Verify your Axon 7 is charged at least 75%. Temporarily disable your antivirus software to allow axon7tool to work.
1) Backup all the data of your phone's internal memory that you don't want to lose. Copy it to your PC
2) Download the axon7tool from here: http://www.filedropper.com/axon7tool-15-win64
3) Download minimal adb and fastboot from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767103465
4) Unzip the minimal adb and fastboot file, place the folder with the files in it somewhere you can easily find it
5) Place the axon7tool exe in the same folder as adb.exe and rename it to "axon7tool.exe" (it's easier to work with that way)

7) Place the TWRP .img file in the same folder as "adb.exe" and "axon7tool.exe", rename it to "recovery.img"
8) Make a copy of the "recovery.img" file and name it "recovery.bin". Leave it in the same folder
9) Go to settings in your phone and go to "About Phone". Tap "Build Number" 7 times to make the Developer Options available
10) Go to "Developers options" and tick "Allow OEM unlock" and "Android Debugging"
11) Connect your Axon 7 to your PC
12) Open a command window by holding shift and right-clicking in a blank space in the folder where the "adb.exe", " axon7tool.exe", "recovery.img" and "recovery.bin" files are located. Click "Open command window here"
13) Type "adb devices" and hit enter. You should see one device with some code listed
14) Type "adb reboot edl" and hit enter. Your device will reboot to EDL mode. It appears to be off, but it is in fact in EDL mode.
15) Go to Device Manager on your pc and verify your Axon 7 is listed as "QUSB_BULK"
16) In command, type "axon7tool -r gpt boot recovery" and hit enter
17) After it is executed, your phone will reboot. Wait until it has fully booted.
18) In command, type "adb reboot edl"
19) Verify you now have 3 backup files in your ADB folder for gpt, recovery and boot. These are backup files in case something goes wrong
20) In command, type "axon7tool -w recovery"
21) Wait until it finishes
22) Your phone should reboot
23) Shut down your phone and boot it to TWRP by holding both the power and volume up button to verify you have TWRP
24) TWRP might ask you for a password. If it does, simply tap cancel. It will ask you if you want to modify system. Swipe to agree
NOTE: if you have problems connecting to your phone as QUSB_BULK, download Zadig and replace your drivers with WinUSB ones. If axon7tool doesn't recignise your device even when connected as QUSB_BULK, try killing adb.exe via task manager before retrying.

Easy. Hold all 3 keys (power, vol up and down) until Device Manager refreshes (you'll see it as the list of devices contracting), and close CMD. Open it again and do step 16 again

Hello and thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it does not change anything.. I have done exactly as you say but the result does not change anything...io have connected the device, Open command window, type "adb devices ", is viewed as "Cd07b2e9 device ", I type "adb reboot EDL ", it restarts in EDL, then go to management Devices and is viewed as "QUSB_BULK ", Run command "Axon7tool-r GPT boot recovery " but it says "Failed to connect ", then I'll return to Device Manager, hold volume up & Down & Power, Icon disappears and returns after a few seconds, close window and launch command "Axon7tool-r GPT boot recovery " but still give "failed to connect "...
So, recapping: I have bootloader unlocked, I can get into EDL but PC does not see device although on Device Manager it exists...
I now launch device into the wall... problem solved.
if you really slammed it against the wall, i would love to buy the back housing and speaker grills. hopefully, you were just illustrating frustration (it is a frustrating scenario), and will reach a resolution, but if you actually did smash it, i could use some parts.

Of course I'm kidding... have just purchased this device, have a great hardware but the software does not go well for nothing. I have had a dozen phones, I changed about 60 ROMs, so for me it is not difficult to change the software...ma in this case have problems. Is it possible that I fail to solve this problem? Be a way to reset everything and start from scratch? Okay, the bootloader be unlocked but not be any other way to go back? I have seen many guides but not able to solve the problem. I fail to make flash of TWRP, fail to do downgrade to MM....io hope someone help me... thanks.
are you using a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port? it may not apply to this scenario, but with Motorola and RSD Lite, I always had to use usb 2.0 ports or it wouldnt see my device when flashing.
also, the steps @choose an username listed out are the best way to start from scratch, but obviously you have to be able to have your computer see the phone in the desired mode.
@DrakenFX has several guides in the axon 7 forums that should help once the computer sees the phone as well.
I use USB 3.0 with original cable ... but if you now tell me that maybe this is my problem, then I use USB 2.0. Thank you...

I put the original cable on USB Port 2.0, have redone procedure from window PowerShell, on command "adb devices " Everything OK, on command "adb reboot EDL " It enters EDL mode, but then all the procedures are failed... if command "Axon7tool-R recovery GPT boot "I always get out of the inscription " Failed to connect ", it remains in EDL and I just have to reboot... I replaced the drivers with Zadig 2.3 but did not change anything... are there any other moors to make flash of TWRP? exist lthough an app that do this? I remember that for LG G3 I'll fix everything with an app...
