Oh, please, we're talking about small screens. 1000 pixels on 4 inches.
If you see pixels on any of those two screens you should call the Guinness Book of Records to claim the sharpest eyesight on the World.
I can't see any pixels when reading text on the Galaxy Note Screen.
Hell, Ipad and Ipad 2 have 1024x768 on a 10" screen and nobody is complaining about pixellation.
You're talking about a screen that's 5" and has roughly the same resolution.

I answered your question above, specifically the HTC Sensation is more "pixelated" because the ppi is lower(though only by a tiny bit, and not noticeable)

Right now I think the Galaxy Nexus is the only other 720P mobile screen available(limited). The Res on the Nexus is 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.65 inches (~316 ppi pixel density) So the "pixelation" would be higher on the Note vs the Nexus. The Note may have more "pixels" then the Note, but the Nexus has smaller screen to pack those Pixels in.
Also, the Galaxy Nexus uses the same Pentile screen that the Note does.

Edit, not the same pixels.
1200 times 800 is 960,000
1280 times 720 is 921,600

A 7-inch Galaxy Note May Be Replacing The 7.7

There are rumours that Samsung is preparing a 7-inch Galaxy Note GT-N5100 to fit between the 5.5 inch and 10.1 inch Notes.
I hope that it is true and that it comes with a 1080p full HD screen and LTE/4G for that would make an upgrade definitely worthwhile.
Now that the the Nexus 10 has followed the Ipad, Asus Infinity and Acer A700 with a full 1080p HD screen it is time for Samsung to do the same and release a full 1080p HD 7-inch screen tablet with a S-Pen for I think the Note 10.1 received a cool reception partly because it lacked a 1080p full HD screen.
I am tempted to get the Nexus 10 because it is full 1080p HD and vanilla Android. However, the S-Pen adds a lot of worthwhile functionality to a tablet as I have discovered on my Note I and I would not now buy a tablet without one.
So I'm hoping the rumour that a 7-inch Galaxy Note is coming soon is true and if it has a full 1080p HD screen and LTE/4G then I'll definitely replace my 7.7 with it.
It seems the GT-N5100 is going to have a 720p screen and not 1080p full HD according to SamMobile

The nexus 10 is 2650x1600. Much higher res then 1080p.
The one thing all of these "replacements" and "alternatives" are missing relative to the 7.7: OLED.
There's no possible alternative to the 7.7 without the SAMOLED. PERIOD.
What you're talking about are alternatives to the 7inchers we've already have, maybe even to the 8.9.
I agree however how cool the pen is and all, but just that such a device is a different one. I just bought the 7.7 for the screen. If it had the same screen as the 8.9", or the 7" 1 or 2 I wouldn't particularly have bought this one. Apples and oranges.

S4 vs note 2

can anyone tell me which phone is best for gaming s4 or note 2?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
both are good..
Since 4 is obviously a bigger number than 2, I would test them both yourself and then decide which you like best.
Personally I will go for note2..
There isn't any game that lags in note2
Battery-3100mah, undoubtedly above good
processor-very good(quad core)
Ram-2gb (same as s4)
Why not s4? Here's why-
Expensive than note2
Poor battery compared to note2
Phone heats up very quickly on hard gaming(it becomes so hot u can't even touch it)
Small screen(depends on u)
Not actual octa core (2Xquad core)
Rest is ur decision..I investigated a lot before choosing among both and then bought note2
S4 is more powerful in benchmark results so i guess it will be good for gaming
5 inch screen is not too small lol and also screen resolution of S4 is 1020 while its 720 in note 2
S4 is easy to hold with one hand for one hand operation i.e typing/texting
the only advantage of note is bigger battery and extra 0.5 inch screen

S4 cause it has better CPU and more important a faaar better gpu(the essential part for gaming) that support also OpenGL 3.0 +better display.
Note 2 also has good points (bigger screen and better battery) but overall the s4 is better for games.
Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
Well the S4 has more than twice as many pixels to shuffle around so it really needs the extra power. While the S4 has a sharper display (441ppi vs 265ppi) the Note2 is slightly bigger (5,5" vs 5.0"). If you have no need for the S-Pen I'd say, go with the S4... just make sure to keep a spare battery available.
Anyway I'd suggest you to wait for the s4 advanced, that will have a massively better gpu and a 20/25% better CPU(s800) or if you can get the the s4 lte-a (same as the s4 advanced but already on the market, HK and Korea only) that it is also 32gb ver.
IMO the best thing to do is wait a month to buy the s800 devices that will come out(Xperia z1,lg g2, note 3, nexus "5", and the htc one max)

The Note 2 has a bigger screen but less pixels, s4 a small screen with more pixels. So the video peformance is not very different because the s4 needs more power to manage those extra pixels. And of course personal preference.
simply wait for Note 3 :good:
The battery on the Note 2 will easily last more than a full day even if you use your phone a lot. When I had the s4 it struggled to get to the end of the day. The 1080p screen uses a lot more juice than the 720p on the Note.
S4 is more powerful for gaming though that being said the Note 2 is still a beast.

I've said this before, and I'll say this again,. you won't notice a difference in 720p vs 1080p unless you obsess over it and has a perfect vision. I have seen nothing different comparing both hand in hand, text is slightly crisper if you are being very anal about it. What you ought to consider though is price, if you use it for gaming, and the screen real estate vs one handed use.

But you have to consider that most games are played at 720p even on the sgs4 so the difference(even at native resolution) is huge.

Actually the case is not as simple as "1080p is 2.25 times more pixels than 720p"..
Let's count Sub-pixels on Note 2; there are 3 sub-pixel for each pixel thus giving us the number of 3 x 720 x 1280 = 2764800
Let's count sub-pixels on S4; there are one blue sub-pixel for every pixel and there are one red and green sub-pixel for every two! pixels giving us the number 1920 x 1080 = 2073600 blue sub-pixels, 1920 x 1080 x 2(for red+green)/2(for sub-pixel sharing)=2073600.
In total = 2073600+2073600=4147200 sub-pixels.
The expected ratio= 2.25
The real ratio= 4147200/2764800=1.5
Still, the GPU has to push every image rendering for a 1080p calculation. This is why the power is wasted. It calculates everything 2.25 times more than a 720p GPU just to be able to draw it inon a 1.5 times sharper screen.
I am not against a 720p pentile screen because it pushes the 300ppi barrier so it can be more sharper for human eye in certain conditions, however a 1080p pentile screen with a "false/fake" 441ppi is just overkill for both the battery and the GPU..
I had the same choice. But am not a big gamer.
Went for the note 2 because:
- better battery
- bigger screen
- S pen
- cheaper

There are obvious (minor) plusses and minuses to either one in terms of gaming. I think you should take everything that's been said and determine whats most important for you to have...bigger screen, more pixels, better CPU, etc. I game but wouldn't classify myself as a big gamer...I've used both and I think the experience is comparable.
For me is better Note 2 for play.. The bigger screen is a big help and is different to see. My friend, when they see me to play, say that like a different phone that theirs HTC one or GS4.. And also, with the same game, i don't see difference about power...
Get a PS3 or an XBOX 360

Ive gone to s4 from note 2. Not much difference gaming at the min. The screen is brighter on s4 and is sharper but I still miss note 2. Although im feeling better with size in pocket and like design better.
Would I go back to note 2? Yes easily.
Ps battery lasts all day on s4

Do you like to use MHL to output your phone's screen to a TV? If so, I very briefly got to try my Note 2 vs an S4 a few days ago and the latter struggled in Epic Citadel (as an example). In general terms the Note 2 felt slightly smoother everywhere when using MHL too (although the S4 can power the MHL adapter by itself which was quite a cool feature, though obviously the battery nose dived pretty quickly!).

GS4 or GNote 3

I currently Have the GS4, but have been looking at videos of the Note 3 and have found a new love. I have never toyed around with or entertained the idea of a Note device before. Should I make the jump to the Note 3?

It's going to be faster with the additional S-Pen features.
If you can handle the size go for it - that's the only debatable thing if money is not an issue.
make the jump. i sold my s4 weeks ago for note 3. i think the note 2 is just as fast as s4. Note 3 will be so much better then s4. Size could be your only issue

You know the differences are all easy to see. Just buy what fits your budget, and realize the Note 3 is better in every way, except if it's too big for your needs. I don't know of many people who even care about the size, in fact believe it's a benefit because of the larger screen.
Previously covered by many websites, it has the following improvements over the Galaxy S4:
Instead of 16-bit 48kHz sound, it has 24-bit 192kHz HD hardware. Thus superior sound playback and recording.
Instead of just 1080p video recording (1920x1080), it has 4K HD video recording (3,840 x 2,160)
Instead of just 1.9GHz quad core and Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset w/ 2.3GHz quad-core
Instead of Adreno 320 graphics chipset, it has Adreno 330 for faster graphics and other features improvements.
There is the addition of the S Pen and ability to detect pen pressure on the screen, which the S4 lacks.
Instead of the 5" screen 1920x1080 screen, it has a 5.7" 1920x1080 screen. There is loss of pixels per inch, in trade off for larger screen.
Instead of plastic body, it has metal bezel and faux leather backing "premium" style.
Instead of Android 4.2 stock, it has Android 4.3.
Instead of USB2 interface, is has USB3 for faster data transfer with PC and faster charging ability.
It should have other improvements, like faster internal storage, and perhaps a change in the Super AMOLED display, which might compensate for the loss of pixels per inch. The S4 has diamond pentile pixel layout, some people hope the Note 3 has something else which results in clearer display or more subpixels (but nobody knows yet, as these specifications have not yet been released)
Pretty much you are getting a much better device for your money with the Note 3. It has no downsides, unless you don't want the larger screen/device size.

[Q] 1920x1200 vs 2048x1536 performance?

Hi,
i can't decide between the ONDA V975W, PIPO W6 or Odys Wintab 9 Plus.
The main question is if a 1920x1200 Tab is better when it comes to performance?
The performance should be better if they use the same hardware. But I personally prefer 4:3.

Not sure on the others but i got the v975w and i think its great. i brought it just as a cheap portable windows device (laptops are too big, heavy, poor battery life and Android/iOS is too restricted) but ive been soo impressed with it that ive pretty much abandoned my ipad and PC and now use the v975w as my main device for most things.
resolution has never caused any performance issues for me and you can always just lower the resolution if it did.
Sure you can lower the resolution but then it's not the native LCD resolution anymore what normally makes stuff blurry.
I'm not sure if i need 2048x1536 cause for eBook reading i have a Pipo M6 Pro that already has this resolution.
On the other hand i guess performance is only a problem when it comes to games and such a tab i guess does not
have the power to even run them in 1920x1200 - so they anyways switch the resolution...
