Asus ME301T MemoPad 10 vs. Asus Transformer Pad 300 - Transformer TF300T General

I had Asus Pad 300 and now I bought Asus MemoPad 10. I have to say, I like it more than Asus 300.
I have 3 questions :
1) how to add this new tablet to forum menu? XDA needs to do it?I don't understand why is not there....?
2) could new 4.2.1 for Asus 300 work with Memopad
3) could screen protector for Asus 300 fit to MemoPad?Nothing at this moment on eBay yet...case,ect.

My question: why do you like the MemoPad 10 more than the tf300? (asking out of interest)

i had the same problem, too many questions. so i bought the tf300t one week ago and everything got answered
1) currently to few requests for a own memopad forum
2) NO don't do an update!
3) investigate the display size!

I like it more, because I never used keyboard No I like it more because of two speakers and little app for sound like : Movie/Music,Speech...I can lock the toolbar. The best thing is that they moved charger to the left,so I can use the tablet in the case while is charging. And it is micro USB not Asus conector...so I can use just one charger for Asus Memopad adn Nexus 4.

I've bought the memo pad and it's absolutely great for the price. as you said the audio from speaker it's really god, looks like even better than the macbook pro audio. About accessories I've found on ebay this keyboard case (search for: NEW Official ASUS MeMO Pad Smart 10 Key Folio Cover Case) and it looks very good, but to expensive.
I have a question tought: in battery settings I can't see the stats for every process and app I've used. Are you having this problem too?
EDIT: anyway I'm sorry for this tobe the first post.. I've forgot I haven't introduce myself in this forum. Doing it right now

Updated to 4.2.1 today and now I can see battery stats, as well the other upgrades that come with it.

No not every device is here. For example the samsung galaxy player 3.6 and 4.2 do not have their own forum and they have had a petition up for several months. There is just not enough development and activity for them to need their own forum. Same case with the memo pad 10.
Maybe you guys should try a petition.. you might have better luck =\

Does anyone tried to use 3g dongle with memopad? I have an Huawei e3131 but when I connect it to the tablet nothing happen. Someone can please give some more information about compatible 3g dongles with asus tablet?

maybe it is possible ask to a sub-forum here or open a official thread with (ME301T) here too
but the problem is the same: we must wait a dev who try to have root access, a dump or a copy of the stock rom/firmware and over these start to work any type of custom roms
without any developer on ME301T we only must wait

[INFO] Asus - EE Pad Review

Hi Guys,
Just got hold of the Eee Pad today so thought I 'ed do a quick review and let the prospective buyers know what I thought about it. I had the option to get either the Eee pad or the Acer Iconia (or xoom- but I didn't see the reason to pay the price for something similar)
So the main comparison came down to the Iconia and the Eee Pad and I finally did go for the Eee Pad over the Iconia, I compared them both side by side, checked whatever I could and I am not one bit disappointed, saved 70 £s (iconia is Heavy for a tablet btw!)and I am in love with the ee Pad. the only reason I did want to go for Acer was the full USB host but I am eventually going to get the keyboard which has USB slots so it came down to ASUS.
I have attached a YouTube video of the review have a look and let me know what you guys think and feel free to ask any questions or if you want to test something specific on the tablet let me know. I will try my best to do it.

No problem. Good review. I liked the fact you did a walkthrough with the device and its features rather than just rushing everything like most other reviews. You didn't try and sell the item but gave a good honest approach and it seemed like a natural review without a script. Should be encouraging to others looking at this device thinking whether or not they should buy it.

Glad u found it useful.
Nice review - I'm still waiting for the keyboard bundle.
What's the stock onscreen keyboard like? Do you own an Android phone? If so how does the keyboard compare - is the responsiveness about the same?

I do have a Desire-Z but I dont really use the on sccreen key board on that, If I compare it with the galaxy s i had i 'ed have to say Eee pad is really good, one for obvious reason the screen size and secondly the 10 point multi input touch screen, yes i ed never use 10 fingers at a time but even having a 3 point multipoint screen helps typing 10 really calms me down
Anyways to answer you question, yes it really is a treat to work with and honestly I am not a big fan of on screen keyboards but this is good, probably as good as the ipad if not better.

Looking to buy a new tablet. Iconia A500 or Eee pad Transformer

Narrowed down to these two options. Not really interested in Transformer Prime at the moment.
Read similar thread at A500 general forums and just want some opinions here, too!
Thanks!
you may get biased views here, but I just picked up the original transformer. The option of the dock is a big plus, even if you think you don't need it.
So far, it appears that Asus has been very good about updates and fixing issues that people have seen. From what I've seen, there have been more updates on the transformer than any other tablet.
The promise of ice cream sandwich seems real. Unlike other tablets, Asus seems to want to keep tablets up to date. I also have the original samsung galaxy tablet (7 inch) and updates have been rare and a long time between them. 2 updates in over a year and the rumour is they may not support ICS.

I have both Acer and Asus
Make it short get an Asus, root it and use custom ROM
biggest disadvantage of Asus and Acer is the charger I have know idea what engineers were thinking, even cell phone manufacturers (except Apple) start using micro USB for charge and data sync and 3.5mm jack for headphones, before that it was a nightmare.
Did you look at XooM 32Gb?

Thanks for the post. XOOM 32GB is more expensive. And this is my first Tablet so I am trying to not invest too much this time.
I do agree with the charge and 3.5mm jack. But it seems pretty difficult to find a car charger for transformer? I've read the devcake charger thread and got an impression that there is no car product support 12V?
I just went through exactly the same thing. I think the build quality and connectivity of the a500 are better. GPS doesn't work very well on the Acer (was the deal breaker for me). now that I have the asus rooted and running revolver and blade3, this thing is awesome! I'm sure there are awesome ROMs out there for the a500 as well but can only speak for the asus. I think the screen does make a difference as well. many people have said that the screens are very close... I agree, but after spending an extensive amount of time on the asus I think the ips screen is a much better choice. Very easy on the eyes. the screen is also calibrated note neutrally (IMO coming from photography experience). my first choice was the iconia but after getting this I'd say that I'm very happy with the final decision. I wanted a device where everything works and this tablet does that, and very well!
Check the build got the says as well. I got lucky and picked up a b80 and many of the bugs seem to be fixed from earlier versions from what I've read...
I think overall in my experience, ASUS makes a far superior product over Acer. I've been in the IT industry for over 12+ years and that's what I have seen, from desktops, notebooks, monitors etc.

Car charger:
As it looks like there are no dedicated car chargers for the Transformer (Then I don't expect there is something for the A500 either) my first thought was to use a standard USB adapter and the Transformer's USB cable. But the Transformer doesn't charge properly via USB because it needs more power than a standard USB port delivers. But there is another device with the same problem: The iPad.
So although i haven't ttried it, it might work to use one of the USB car chargers for the iPad and plug in the USB cable of the Transformer.
-----
TF101 vs A500:
I am absolutely pleased with my Transformer (16GB WIFI, no dock because it was cheaper ). The software between the two doesn't differ very much (but Asus includes some nice applications, e.g. full Polaris Office (don't know what the A500 has instead), the community is bigger for the Transformer I think (can always be helpful) and Asus is the Tablet manufacturer with the fastest updates.
In terms of hardware both are very similar as well (if you don't count the dock as a big advantage of the TF101) but there is one little thing of the Iconia Tab I wished I had in my Transfomer: the full USB2.0 Host directly on the tablet (for plugging in Keyboards, USB sticks etc). Because on my dock-less Transformer I use the flimsy Asus Adapter that gives me a normal USB port, but it works ok.
[typed with my Transformer and a wireless Logitech keyboard attached].
Hope it was helpful,
have a nice 2012!
Biased view? - Definately - Go for the Asus Transformer (WITH KEYBOARD DOCK) - Simple choice.
The acer a500 has a major bug, it thinks your in another country and won't let you download apps from the market! It can be solved by rooting but what if you don't want to root?
This is not a rumor or hearsay a friend of mine has an a500 and can't download anything. It thinks she lives in some middle Eastern country when she actually lives in the US. She does not want to root it so she is screwed. I have tried every "fix" I can find online and none of them work.
I had the Acer. I sold it...and almost regret it.
Acer is easier to root and rom development is great.
Asus' position against root. if I had know it, would had been enough to stay away from it.
Techs are similar, only the form factor is a + for the Transformer.
my 2 cents
I've had the Acer and now I have the Transformer. I love my Transformer, but I would go with the Acer. The only thing I like better about the Transformer over the Acer is the look and weight. The Iconia can get heavy at times, but you get usb ports "on the tablet" and it doesn't require you to use any proprietary cables. Just use a usb cable that you may already have laying around. (This is coming from someone who doesn't have or has never used the dock with the Transformer, so my opinion might be different if that was the case. But I would have to go out and spend $150 to find that out.) You don't have to worry about what model number you have, which determines what root method you use, etc. But at the end of the day, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. It's just a matter of personal preference.
TF101
Better Build Quality
BEST screen in class (better than A500, XOOM, Sony, Samsung, iPad)
Least buggy - ASUS really address **** pretty promptly by comparison with other - very much the continual improvement ethic
Best Detachable keyboard engineering
We have Roach as Dev who is working on CM9 - testament to his class.
SUPPORT FOR VOODOO SOUND - PRICELESS

Asus Transformer + dockstation, incredible battery life.
Buy ASUS Transformer Prime because it is newer and more efficient.
After reading all the "biased" opinion threads in both forums and had some hands-on time for both devices, I think will be getting TF101.
The Prime is out of my budget and I don't need that much power yet.
Just got the asus and another member of the family got the acer iconia... transformer runs a lot smoother and (i think) comes with better preloaded apps. Looking around to see options for rooting/romming them both today

[CLOSED][REQUEST] Forum for the Asus Transformer TF300T tablet

I would like to request a forum for the care and feeding of the Asus Transformer TF300T:
http://amazon.com/Transformer-TF300-T-B1-BL-10-1-Inch-Tablet/dp/B007P4YAPK
The Asus Transformer TF300T is the first quad-core Android tablet that is widely available. Unlike its predecessor, the Prime, the TF300 is affordably priced and comes with ICS pre-installed. It will be a mainstay of the second generation of Android tablets.
There are few enough 2nd-gen Android tablets, that I think a forum for the TF300's discussion and development would be fruitful toward XDA's goal of advancing Android development as a whole. Asus has been among the foremost supporters of Android, and its tablet deserves a space here.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
+1 for ASUS Transformer Pad TF300.
+1 for the TF300 specific forum. There's quite a few people over at the Prime's forum that have bought one, I will be getting mine soon (monday or tuesday). My guess is that in a week or so there will be a lot of people looking for ideas, help, root, tweaks, etc. for the TF300 (including me).

Are you selling Tf101 and buying Nexus7?

Thoughts?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app
Though I would love quick updates, I plan on using my transformer for quite awhile. Unless I somehow win the lottery and all my tech dreams could become reality...just some wishful thinking.
tf101 isnt going to cut it for engineering next year so i was going to get a zenbook but i do like having a tablet around and the nexus 7 seems to be the best bang for your buck,
No interest in the Nexus, but I'll be following the release of the 700. If it doesn't have the issues of the Prime, I may upgrade.
Almost began to think about it....
Nexus 7 looks nice, and at a good price. Plus, updates straight from google sounds wonderful (although having an asus is the next best thing). However, unless it had a keyboard like the transformer, I just can't see myself making the upgrade.
At first I was tempted but I would miss the 10" screen to read. Plus I have my hesitations with ASUS throwing the Nexus 7 together in the short amount of developing time they had.
Nope .... I currently have the TF101 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Updates from Google would be great with the Nexus 7, but I'd miss the IR blaster feature of the Samsung (currently use the Peel app with it), and right now I just have no need or use for 2 different 7" tabs. I'm planning to buy a new 10" tablet in a month or so, though, to replace the TF101.
I have a Nexus7 on order (a 16GB one, given the lack of MicroSD), but am keeping my transformer. They will serve different purposes (I believe).
If it turns out the Nexus7 replaces the TF, then I will sell it, but I am anticipating they will live in harmony...
The TF has too much functionality with the dock and size to give up. I'm considering getting the TF700, assuming it has no problems unlike the tf201 and tf101 had when they came out. I'd like to use it in college to replace my notebook, and maybe my books.
Also, Asus took care of every problem the TF lineup has had so far, even replacing hardware in the tf101 dock and giving away the TF201 gps dongle. That is awesome customer service. On top of that I have 2 local Asus service centers here, both of which have people who are willing to help and with most repairs done within 24 hours, and if they don't have the parts in stock I can keep my tablet until they come in. I doubt Google can even come close to that customer service. Give me an Asus Nexus tablet and we'll talk.

ASUS makes the Nexus 7, so your wish is granted!
Thought about it but for me it makes more sense to wait as my TF101 is working fine so far (Revolver). I take it on trips with my external SD card have access to music and shows.
Got used to the big screen, although id like to see something in between 8 - 10 inches. Hopefully the next batch of tablets from google will make warrant a switch (2GB maybe?)
The TF101 is a great device (if you exclude the software problems), hope to get a good working stable port from JB

So, if it breaks, I take it to the Asus service center? Awesome.
Now I just need the nexus version of the TF700!:victory:
I thought about it, but the screen size and functionality of the transformer is much more suited to my needs. To satisfy my gadget hunger, I may buy one for the other half though. Seems too good not to? I use my tablet all the time at home, the nexus 7 is ideal to take out with you, except for the lack of 3g. Hot spots are everywhere around here though.

Sell an asus tablet and never buy another one.... yes
as much as i liked my 7" Gtab i dont think i could drop down in size.
the keyboard and connectivity are brilliant so i think the Tf300 could be on the cards at some point or see what the next gen after that brings.
I'm going to sell one of my laptops on eBay and buy the Nexus 7. I'll be keeping my TF though. - sheureka
I want one but 10 inch is better in my opinion (that's what she said).

bought the nexus7 16gb for 234 (deal).
i dont think itll be worth it to throw my xformer away for like 200 with dock (guessing thats how much its worth). might just keep it on the side for kicks and giggles.
honestly i cant imagine using the transformer and a nexus 7 tho.

Debating whether to keep nook color though for reader only as wife or kids can still use it to read.

I've thought about it but I know I would miss the keyboard. IMO a 10" screen is too awkward for me to type comfortably on in landscape mode because I have smaller hands, although it is a nice size for general viewing and media consumption. In hindsight I probably would have been better off getting the slider since in the year I've had the TF and dock I rarely ever use the touchpad. I think 8"-9" would be a perfect size for me.

[Q] Miracast, Accessories, etc.

Does anyone know when official accessories from Google will be released?
Seeing that this is a Nexus device, I will treat it like royalty and only buy official products like docks and miracast adapters from Google.
I can not seem to find anything on the internet mentioning any accessories at all so if anyone knows something I do not know, please share.
I think any answer would just be a guess.
We have not seen anything "OFFICIAL" released for the Nexus 7 yet.
