Hi guys! Of late my S3 has been heating just where the SIM card and microSD card slot is and the phone just freezes then and doesn't respond at all. I was using SlimBean Build 2 ROM earlier and now I am on Omega 44.2 but the problem replicated itself on both the ROMs. I have searched for this issue online and most of them just say that I just need to let the device cool. The thing is, I never had this problem! It has just sprung up from somewhere! And what worries me is the fact that I have not done any overclocking or undervolting whatsoever!
Is there any workaround this? Or should I try to go back to stock? Guys please help me as this is worrying me a lot, especially because my phone is from the UK and now I am in India and have managed to lose the receipt for my phone. Please help guys!!

I am no flash guru so i cant be help on that but this is precisely why i stay away from flashing roms. I would say you should go back to stock if possible and then see of the problem persists. If not then obviously roms you flashed contains known or unknown problems. If you still have, send to samsung for repair or replacement.

I understand that but I have never faced such a problem ever. I had an s2 earlier and I used to flash roms on it almost everyday. And even on my s3 I have never seen such a problem ever. Can anyone else suggest anything else?
its sounds like its a hardware defect.
i would return it to stock and use triangle away, and try to get a replacement for samsung if its still under warranty

Hi guys,
My Galaxy S4 (i9500) was working properly on Android 4.3 official, then I flash the Indian 4.4.2 (Oficial) and now every sensor and the front facing camera stopped working. All sensors are listes on CPU-Z, but none of them show any activity.. I've flash 2 custom ROMs trying to fix it but no luck after all.
Someone have a clue on what can I do to fix it?

Long story bro, summing it, I just bought this phone used for a real small value, the person who sold me said that this was what happened, he flashed the Indian ROM and things stopped working. When he flashed it there was no oficial Brazilian ROM, thats why he flashed the Indian one. I'm at work and can't flash a original ROM right now since it requires PC connection and I can't connect it at company's PCs. So I wanted to make sure it's really a software problem not hardware, what do you think? All sensors show up at CPU-Z, they're just not working.

1. Only I hope the sensor apps are ticked/actived in settings
2. I think u have to try to flash the brazilian stock rom and we will see. Im thinking this person lied and sold u a faulty S4. But im not there, we will make some tests for verify

Well since I paid a real low price for that, would still worth it even if all these sensors are broken, but since they are reconized by the apps, I think they're working, just need to "configure" them. I'll try flashing this ROM when I get to home, bad thing I still have 12 longs hours before it hehe

I recently got a GS4 from China and noticed the WiFi was not turning on... it is going though the notion with "turning on..." displayed on screen and not doing anything else.
After reading around on the internet I saw it maybe a firmware issue. So after doing some research I decide flashing it maybe the best solution to the the problem. After spending like a couple of hours ensuring I got the correct version of the firmware I got everything ready but when I put it in download mode I realized I maybe the wrong one.

Sticker under battery says its the I9500...
In download mode I notice that is said that the model of the phone was SGH-I337 the AT&T I9505. Which confused me and made me want to check which firmware to get. The 3rd image doesn't really make sense based on what I have read along with fact that the first image calls the phone the i9500 but the 5th image shows the i9505 qualcomm processor. Also on the 1st image what is "jflteatt" under the device type?
I'm not sure what to do now, any help would be most appreciated.

Kies recognizes it... I wouldn't have expected it to load up in kies if it was a clone.

That's an app, it's called phone info Samsung, u can find it on google play. Don't rush to conclusions if u are not sure of what u are saying.

How bout you dont jump to conclusions too bud!
I have a mate who bought an "S4" from China, paid $130, and it looked the same but when we compared it against my i9500 it was littered with errors in the device info. The fake also only got EDGE and couldn't pick up 3G or HSPA.
In me saying the OP has probably got a fake I was not trying to belittle him but just make him aware.
Look nicely at the pics, the product is shown as "jflteatt" but its supposed to be a i9500...
jflteatt = the AT&T i9505 not an i9500
"Sticker under the battery says i9500" but device info says jflteatt. I seriously doubt Samsung would have let something like that slip through their Quality Control.
Maybe the OP can post us a pic of his about screen and not some phone info shots from an app available on the Google store.
That would end the debate.
@op sorry for derailing your thread. Have you tried getting into Download mode or Recovery Mode? My mates fake had a chinese recovery.

and got another one with heavy debloater, if I'm not wrong is "weightloss" ROM.
but which one fast, I dunno. you try it urself. None of the ROM is fast for everyone. This is you have to understand first.
All the ROMs are good, IF can suit to your needs and usage.
take your sweet time and try.

Agreed, What is good and useful to me may not be to your taste... There is no perfect rom because everyone likes something different but you do need to try them out.... You'll find something you like...

There are so many choices! Has anyone done a "bible of roms"? My previous phone's forum had a list of roms, with descriptions and quick sum ups of how and why this rom was different from stock. I have finally rooted mine, and am in process of trying roms, and really want a 'cheet sheet'.

Stock rom is good and stable. Lots of rom out there try it by yourself because at the end only and you only, will know which is best suit for you.. happy flashing
look at my signature and you can choice the light or ultra
maybe the light one is a good choice because I keep useful apps and remove useless (from my part) or if you don't want anything the ultra is good
otherwise try AOKP rom

My wife's Note 4 was updating Facebook app 2 days back. But phone became very slow, so she took the battery out and try to reboot the phone. After than, she was unable to start the phone anymore.

I tried Stock India latest firmware for Android 6.0.1. I also tried, Stock Singapore latest firmware for Android 5.1.1. Both didn't work, gave same error.

Try someone who can flash with jtag. I had the same problem and no matter what i did, it led me to flash a pit file and brick mine forever. Now my last hope is a guy who can flash with jtag coz my N910F wont even start. Unfortunantely its vacation period so i have to wait for him to be back. Good luck my friend. Keep us posted.

The guy at the phone shop (in Singapore) told me that it'll cost about USD$120 to replace the mainboard of the Note 4. Apparently, there are a lot of such failing recently till the mainboard is out of stock. Will need 1 week for the mainboard to come.
Anybody encounter similar problem?
Just curious, does anybody has the solution?

Im kind a newbie in smartphone things. I rooted some of my old phones but now i rly need some help. I got Samsung Glaaxy s6 Edge+ and i tryed to root it like 3 monthe ago i didn wokred out installed some new firmware and i got same that i had 6.0.1 but barnded to other operator form my country "3" and now when i start phoen im getting this wierd logo of other company that i have my phone. But not that was my point after this instllation i got rly big problem with my battery its draining very very fast even thos mobile is in standby i mena screen is off. It cant even hold battery 1 day even.
So can someone help me to install new fimrware but clean with no brands not apps form other opearator and the root it ? But i would need some newbie guide.

Its the same picure in my phone. I have "Telia" as my mobile operator and mobile is taken form Telia shop but after a installation of firmware form sammobile i have logo form mobile operator "Tre" and im looking for new unbranded firmware for my phone. I wrote somewhere that probably my battery problems came form bad installation of firmware i got some errors when i was installing it 3 months ago but i dicede to just push ignore butten and continued installation of fimrmwre. At the end evrything was okay but battery is draining in 8h after i unplugg it form charger.
So to be clear i need a clean newest firmware for my phone and some Root instruction or just link to easest way to root phone.
You probably have a deep sleep problem, which is easily solvable.

After you've done that, you could either flash a custom kernel (e.g. SkyHigh) or just flash SuperSU.
